2023.06.03 14:59 IndieFlea End of Month Minor League updates - IndieFlea's Mid-Season Prospect Rankings (Part 3)

Hey all, this is Part 3 of my Mid-Season Prospect Rankings. Part 1 is here.. Part 2 is here.
All stats are as of June 2 unless noted otherwise. Sidenote, it's weird that even stats from the past few days are changing my internal rankings, for instance Grant Anderson excelling again is really forcing my hand to squeeze him in the 50, Cam Cauley is just heating up offensively this week, forcing Top 30 consideration, and Larson Kindreich is continuing to struggle, all while still in Hickory about to turn 25 (not a good combo). Might have to a quick reordering when I'm done here.
Rankings 25-11
That’s it for Part 3! I’ll get Part 4 complete tomorrow, where you’ll see a lot of the familiar prospects. Thanks for reading!

2023.06.03 14:48 Adam-EcoCore One DVD that won't rip - no errors, superquick, creates 5kb file

I'm using Handbrake regularly on a Linux Mint machine and just ripped 10 DVDs, but the last one fails.
I've cleaned the DVD and there are no major scratches on it.
I've loaded it up and started watching a bit and it seems fine.
When I try to rip it in Handbrake, first of all it takes quite a lot longer than normal for Handbrake to scan all the titles.
If I chose the correct title to rip, I leave off any subtitles and set it going, it scans very quickly and announces that it's done, despite the title having 2 hrs 15 mins 50 secs.
The resulting file is 5kb.
There are no errors.
I can rip other titles off the DVD OK, but just not the feature film.

Im not by any means an avid fps player. Ive never played anything like Tarkov before. Hell to be painfully honest I can count on one hand how many games in general ive played, or even worse, bought since 2005.
See before 05' I was a typical 90s console kid. I came up on NES then SuperNes into Sega and finally capping it off with the almighty PlayStation. During that time there wasn't a game I wouldn't play. My favorite of all time is hands down the double disc version of Metal Gear Solid. In 2004-05 I got handed a $2.99 10day trial disc for World of Warcraft. And after about 6 months in I sold all my consoles and the games and used the money to buy the next expansions and pay for the sub for a year. Since thin I've truly been a one game Andy. So with how Wow has been over the past few xpacs I decided to try something new and picked up warzone since it was free. Had some fun. Leveled some guns. Bought every skin I saw that came with the new best gun cuz i didn't have em leveled yet.
So that's my back story so you guys can understand why pretty much any motivation to even log on is damn near gone.
I've been a nonstop DMZ player since day 1 of season 1. It had everything I love in games. I'm not that great in pvp fights just do to lack of experience and getting outplayed but I keep at it and I've def seen an improvement since I started mid way thru warzone 1. So to have a game that lets pvp be a part of the match but not the soul goal of it was perfect for me. I'm used to grinding quests and chasing achievements in WoW so I've just come at it with the same mindset as when i play that. Farm rep, complete quest chains, kill bosses, etc. etc. Instead of spells, I use bullets. Awesome. So I've been slowly chopping away at the factions and unlocks. Its taken me from the start to now to unlock my second slot, and push the faction tiers to within reach of the third. All factions are at tier 4 missions except Redacted is at T2 and Crown is T3. I hardly ever squad fill because most groups I found were more of a hinderance than an asset. I like going solo because my pace is my pace and I've gotten a nice routine put together for how I spend my time in match. So multiple full bpass seasons and I'm still not completed. But Ive gotten all the cases, I've unlocked all the shiny's minus what the mission rewards will be with the ones I have left to complete. This has been a slow painful learning experience for me and Ive really enjoyed it. I play warcraft on autopilot at this point ive been doing it so long. So this is a great change up. AND NOW I FEEL LIKE THIS WAS ALL FOR NOTHING. I don't care if it took me 6 months or a year to complete the factions and get my 3rd weapon slot. Sometimes I don't actually see a mission complete screen for a week or more. But I keep at it as long as I see improvements.
Next season just makes all of that completely irrelevant. There's some missions that took me so long to finally get thru, that gave me so much rage induced migrains that I put my keyboard thru the monitor. Why the fuck would I want to possibly (probally) put myself thru that again. I felt like an asshole after I realized I let a game get at me so much I broke my own shit but goddamn the sense of accomplishment after finally figuring it all out and getting it done was everything I love about gaming. I feel deflated. Where I could finally see the finish line (even if I'm not quite there) is now just a pure "fuck it" attitude. I haven't equipped a mission since I saw the update info. Where I used to focus on completion but able to switch it up and engage with other players when forced into it. I've been a soul sucking exfil camp sniping shotgun doofing in buildings betty body booby trapping piece of toxic trash and I'm not happy about it. Sad thing is that I spend more time regaining now then I did when I wasn't playing like a twat. I bought a blueprint that lets me get my sniper and a smg back every 15 mins. I don't even use the Roze skin cuz it sucks. BUSH WHOOKI GANG HERE!!!. I've spent all my saved up cod points plus a few swipes of the trusty AmEx to snag up all the ghillie skins i can. This might have actually ruined this game for me cuz its turning into what warcraft turned into for me. Empty. (and I'm not even really pissed about the random shadow bans or getting donkey punched by a 6squad. That shit happens. Its part of what makes pvp enabled games so dynamic. Well not the shadow shit but whatever.
Sorry for the length. I already know its way TLDR. But I wanted to get this off my chest and to people that can either relate or at least understand the intent behind the words. My girl just gives me the stale face nod. So read or don't that really doesn't matter tbh. I needed to find how to translate what I'm feeling into words so I can actually get an understanding for myself. So thank you so much if you are still here with me and also thank you if you aren't. I've gotten a lot of good advice on my grind in dmz and pretty much all of it has come from this reddit group. I don't know how much I'm going to be back here because I cant 100% say that when the wipe happens I wont just uninstall if these updates end up being a load of shit and they wiped us for zero fucks given which def could be an outcome.

Stewart, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - September 21, 2021) - Decade Resources Ltd (TSXV: DEC) ("Decade" or the Company) announces that it has intersected further native gold in holes DDH-DN-21-14 to 16 on the Argo/LG zones at the Del Norte property. The property is situated within BC's "Golden Triangle," 34 kilometres east of Stewart, BC.
Highlights of the recent drill holes include:
  • 10 m of quartz and sulphide with fine visible gold in DDH-DN-21-15 (see photos of core from hole as well as gold on cut core from hole 12).
  • Visible gold associated with sphalerite in DDH-DN-21-16 (see included photo).
  • Successfully intersecting the zone in every drill hole during the 2021 program.
  • 2021 drilling indicates a strike length of at least 1200m and height of at least 200m for the zone tested this season.
  • Zone is open both north and south and to depth.
Ed Kruchkowski, President of the Company states: "The Company is extremely pleased with the successful program to date on the Del Norte project. The Company is also excited by the continued presence of visible gold, silver minerals and strong base metal mineralization in the latest drill holes. The drilling to date shows a great consistency along strike and to depth for the mineralization between the various drill holes along the Argo/LG zone. It is one of 4 major mineralized trends identified to date. Any one of the identified zones has the size potential to host a mineral deposit. The geology of the mineralized zone suggests deposition along a stratigraphic horizon similar to hosting the Eskay Creek deposit. The Company will formalize 2022 field plans once all the assays have been received."
Mineralization is located within a pyrite-rich, graphitic black mudstone horizon within black matrix lapilli tuffs with sub-intervals of dacite lapilli tuffs. The mudstone horizon contains small rounded fragments of pyrite as well as fine stringers of sphalerite. Fracturing and faulting within this unit has resulted in the deposition of quartz and sulphides. The faulting has resulted in black graphitic gouge, crushed sulphides and quartz fragments. Mineralization include pyrites, sphalerite, galena and tetrahedrite along with visible gold and silver in the 2021 drill holes.
Core logging and processing of core continues and samples are sent to MSA Labs in Terrace on a weekly basis.
The Del Norte property was optioned from Teuton Resource Corp. in January of 2020 with terms allowing the Company to earn up to a 55% interest in the property by spending $4 million over a five year period. The Company can an earn an additional 20% interest by carrying the property to commercial production.
Private Placement
The Company has completed an oversubscribed flow through and non-flow through financing to continue funding the phase 2 program and continued exploration.

2023.06.03 13:38 ___Anton__ Microtransactions

I have never seen a game with such ridiculous microtransactions. ~£42.49 worth of gems to unlock lab 4 ~£1 of gems for 1 card £14.99 for the event boost (And from the wording only the active event and no other) A premium pass (Acts as a season pass you'd seen in other games) for every3 tiers. The price starts at £9.99 and increases by 10 for every set of 3 tiers.
I understand developers need to make money, but these seem horrendously unbalanced. Considering the number gems that can be made via tournaments, weekly events and now daily missions, the gem packs are either extremely overpriced or provide a stupidly little number of gems.
I may be wrong about the even pass, but if I am not then £14.99 for a SINGLE event is ridiculous.
The premium pass prices are also ridiculous, by the time you reach tier 10-12 it would be costing £39.99 just for those tiers. I would personally buy the premium pass .. If it was 9.99 for all tiers not close to £100. I had actually the £9.99 when i first started just to be disappointed later that day when I reached tier 4 .
I stated a card being around £1 as the smallest gem pack is £4.19 for 100 gems and £1 was just a close round number and for the lab price I could see what i needed for lab 4 and just picked the gem pack that had the amount needed. Given that there are 28 cards that i can see and as far as i am aware all level up to level 7 needing 81 cards to reach it, using the £1 per card that would end up costing a total of £44800 (a closer value would probably be £40320, but still :/). I understand no one would solely spend money to get all they cards but that is still insanity.
When I came to this subreddit, I just wanted to see if there were any posts bringing up this absurdity but I didn't see a thing. I will still play this game but seeing the prices made me extremely curious what others though, I didn't even realise it was this bad till I went and looked further into it for this post. As I said earlier I understand developers have to make money, but there is a limit is there not?

So I made a tier list about the male characters base on the looks
Hello I'm new on this sub! I've just finished watching the season 2 part 2 and moving forward on the movie, while I'm waiting for season 3 I made this base on my personal thoughts and opinions about it. Tier list for female characters is upcoming after this.
Anime-only here so I decided to put a row of those character who "I don't know yet" and sorry for the wrong word that I used.

2023.06.03 11:28 Rainbow6SiegeCreator What If Legends and Canon Merged? Part 13: Republic Anew

5 years had past since the formation of the New Republic and the SkywalkeKenobi Academy, a new Squadron had been formed with the veteran General Hera Syndulla leading the very vessel they had become a part of. This group was known as the New Republic Rangers. This force had composed of ground troops, pilots, and others with exceptional skills. Leading this group in Syndylla's absence were Carson Teva, and Cara Dune. Hera trusted this team not only because of their reputations, but also due to her personal accounts of their advisor, Zeb Orrelios.
When the Jedi had arrived, the new Republic soldiers stood at attention in respect for the Grandmaster who saved the galaxy from the Imperial regime. Luke reunited with his old friend Wedge Antilles, X2 reunited with Grey Squadron and his wife Shara, Ezra reunited with Zeb and met the new team as well as Hera, who embraced him along with the still-so-devious astromech droid Chopper. The 3 Ghost crew members almost teared up when they found out Ezra and Sabine married.
Hera: [Through tears of joy] Ezra, Sabine, I'm... I'm... so proud of you both. I had a feeling this would happen.
Zeb: I'm proud of you too, kid. You two have grown up so much. Bet you didn't miss this bucket of bolts.
Chopper gave his version of a nudge to the Lasat and the old friends and Bridger couple said their goodbyes as they moved to their military posts.
Back at the Temple, Rex and Ahsoka had been teaching their son, Anakin Tano many aspects of their expertise, but this particular lesson was from his father who had realized that his age caught up with him.
Rex: Son, Your mother and I served with your namesake for years, and You have been made aware of my aging. This won't happen to you, but I have things I wish to leave behind. The shrine has been entrusted to Luke's apprentice, but my armor, when you get old enough, as well as my blasters will be yours. Add my helmet to the shrine, give it to Grey. Learn the ways of the Force, like your mother, and her master before you. My mission is over. Continue with yours, and protect all that you love.
With those words, the mother and son embraced in grief. With a heavy heart, Anakin tried to bring himself to give his father's helmet to the Grandmaster's padawan.
Grey: Hello, little guy. What's your name?
Anakin: My name is Anakin Tano. My father told me to give you this.
X2 had then realized who his father and mother were. He then took the helmet and remembered what to do with it. He then asked the child if he wanted to accompany him.
Grey: Do you want to see what your father had referred to?
Anakin: Sure. What is it he wanted to put his helmet for?
Grey: Your father told you of the adventures he had with your mother?
Anakin: Yes.
Grey: After the Clone Wars ended, Your father started collecting helmets of fallen brothers, essentially your millions of uncles, who he was close with. He wanted his helmet on this shrine so he could continue being with them, in spirit.
Anakin: So my father has now joined my uncles in the Force?
Grey: Yes. Like your mother and many Jedi like her believe. When we see the shrine, you can ask anyone who knew your uncles about them, any time you like.
Anakin: Thank you. For everything.
Back at the Temple, Cal Kestis had been teaching the younglings Luke's 3 forms of combat. Form 8 included the use of a primary lightsaber and shoto secondary as needed much like Niman. Luke had been training in this style after making his red shoto from Ahsoka. Form 9 included the use of saber staves, crossguard sabers, and heavy strikes. Ben Solo had been training in this form as his base for when he would create a suitable saber in the future. Form 10 included using the lightsaber as a offensive shield in tandem with a blaster. Kata Akuna, Jacen Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger were the beat students with this form, since Kata saw her father use this form, and Ezra's first blade merged the two types of weapons. As the younglings and older students continued practicing, Kestis had begun having a vision.
Figure: Your family is unprotected. Only your hatred can keep them safe. The Dark Side that you have tasted before has been your savior time and time again. There is much to learn. All you need to do is embrace it! Remember those you've lost, your masters, your best friend, the Jedi Order. Give yourself to it!!
As Cal jolted out of the vision, Merrin came rushing over to comfort the Jedi Battlemaster.
When Luke and the other Jedi returned, he began to organize a meeting of the most powerful and wisest Jedi. Ahsoka, Starkiller, Luke, Cal, and Quinlan Vos had met in a round holotable that was reminiscent of the rebel base. X2, Merrin, and Jacen Syndulla kept watch over the rest of the youngling's training.
Luke: Thank you all for attending this inaugural meeting of the Jedi Council.
Quinlan: I never sat on the council of old before, feels a little weird sitting on one now.
Ahsoka: This is a first for me as well. I remember my master and Master Kenobi being on the council, but I never got the chance.
Luke: We are the wisest that remain of the Jedi, hence why I had chosen you all to serve on the council. Those from the order of old for advisory roles, some who are powerful in many aspects, and those who are willing to provide insight to how the Jedi can be reformed?
Cal: Reformed how exactly?
Luke: Master Kestis, what was the rule on attachment in the order of old?
Cal: That it was forbidden. When I was on Jeddha, I realized that I couldn't let it hold me back. I allowed myself to love unconditionally and now I have not only the child I adopted, but my own with my wife.
Ahsoka: I also had a husband after the battle of Endor, my son and I recently lost him to his accelerated aging.
Quinlan: You had a kid with a clone?
Ahsoka: Remember Captain Rex?
Quinlan: Skywalker's clone leader? Yes. Oh, oh, ooooohhhh.
Starkiller: I also married a pilot. She has been by my side, and we have two children.
Cal: How many of us are there supposed to be, if you don't mind me asking?
Luke: We would start with 6.
Starkiller: There's 5 of us here.
Luke: I understand. We were hoping to put allowing Ezra Bridger to the council.
Ahsoka: I believe that he would make an excellent addition to the council. He has a great tie to our Mandalorian Allies, being married to one.
Starkiller: His combat prowess has not changed since he was lost for years.
Quinlan: Alright. We survived the Empire due to our bending of the rules of the old Jedi Code. This can be more my speed.
Luke: Let's bring the decision to a vote. Those in favor of appointing Ezra Bridger to this council?
Ahsoka: Aye.
Starkiller: Aye.
Luke: Aye. Opposed?
Cal: Nay.
Quinlan: Nay.
Luke: Very well. Majority has decided to welcome Ezra Bridger to the council. Motion passed.
Quinlan: Alright. Guess we can throw away the old code.
Luke: All part of reformation, Master Vos.
Cal: I understand that my family and I have been away from the galaxy for quite some time. We can learn from him as well he learns from us.
Luke: Excellent, everyone. Council adjourned.
As Ezra arrived to the council chambers in his beskar armor, he had seen 3 familiar faces which only comforted him slightly.
Ezra: Council, you have requested my presence here.
Luke: Yes, Bridger. You know Ahsoka Tano, Galen Marek, but allow me to introduce Master Quinlan Vos, and Battlemaster Cal Kestis.
Ezra: A pleasure to meet you both.
Quinlan: Likewise.
Ahsoka: You have been brought before us due to your wisdom and ties to Mandalore, as well as your ability to maintain your dedication to the light.
Starkiller: Your confidence under pressure is commendable and your composure is inspiring for the other students.
Ezra: I understand.
Luke: We invite you to join this council and we grant you the rank of Master.
Ezra was shocked to hear this news from Luke, especially when he knew he had yet to train someone to use the Force.
Ezra: Thank you for this invitation, but I have yet to be a teacher.
Ahsoka: Kanan taught you really well. You have a great ability to bond with others.
Ezra: I see. I accept the seat on the Jedi Council.
As Ezra took his seat, the remaining Jedi had begun thinking of who to train out of the students they have.
Luke: Out of our oldest students here, it seems that even though most of them are our own children, they may need to learn to have different teachers other than parents.
Cal: What about allowing attachment in the Order?
Luke: Attachment can be good, if the attachments are healthy. Some separation can be good for some of the students.
Quinlan: Like how the Jedi of old used to do?
Luke: No, Master Vos. Most of the attachments already formed have been between some Jedi and their children.
Ahsoka: We can discuss this in another meeting.
Starkiller: She's right. Let's move on.
Luke: Thank you, Master Marek. Since I already have a padawan, we have 5 students that need a teacher.
Cal: 4. Kata Akuna is well trained enough by my wife in basic combat tactics, but since her father was a Jedi, I feel it's my duty to train her in the Force and lightsaber techniques. We have been Way from the galaxy for quite some time, and I don't want to overwhelm her with so much at once.
Luke: I see. We can remove her from the list. First, we must discuss who is to train Satine Kenobi Kryze.
Ezra: I will train her.
Luke: What case do you make for the daughter of my Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi?
Ezra: She is also the daughter of Bo-Katan Kryze, leader of Mandalore. With my ties to Mandalore and wisdom previously mentioned by Master Tano, she can learn to marry the ways of the Jedi and the ways of Mandalore in a healthy and coherent way.
Luke: Master Tano, any opposing statements?
Ahsoka: No, Grandmaster. Ezra's connections to Mandalore run deeper than mine.
Luke: It's settled then. Satine Kryze will be trained by Master Ezra Bridger. Next, we have Jacen Syndulla-Dume.
Ahsoka: I will train him.
Luke: What case do you make for young Syndulla-Dume?
Ahsoka: He is the grandson of a famous freedom fighter named Cham Syndulla. Like his grandfather and mother before him, he will be one of the greatest heroes in the galaxy.
Luke: Any opposing statements?
The room had looked around for any opposition to the scenario at hand, with nothing but silence.
Luke: Very well. Master Ahsoka Tano will take Jacen Syndulla-Dume as her apprentice. Master Marek, Master Vos, would you like to teach a student?
Quinlan: I've had enough adventure for a lifetime. I'll keep the records and preserve what Jocasta Nu had attempted to maintain. She had sent many pieces of information through The Path, hopefully most of it was preserved.
Cal: I actually have some left from a holdout on Jeddha that Vader burnt to the ground a few years back.
Starkiller: I believe that in order for me to be a teacher, my personal demons must be conquered first.
Luke: We respect your decision.
As the council adjourned on Yavin 4, another Force-sensitive being has been imprisoned by a group of pirates on Nevarro. As he used his cradle pod to hide from the danger, he had heard blaster fire in the distance. A bounty hunter clad in Mandalorian style armor, by the name of Din Djarin, and a long forgotten IG assassin droid, IG-11, had eliminated the pirates guarding their bounty. The droid had orders to execute the child, but the Mandalorian had orders to bring it to a client who would pay rather handsomely for the job. After the droid fell to a blaster shot to the chest, The beskar clad hunter brought the pod to the Empire. When the hunter got there, he was paid in beskar stamped with the Imperial seal. When the hunter took his payment, he began to feel a weight slowly growing heavier on his shoulders.
After the mandalorian got paid in beskar, he returned to the undercity lair of the Armourer to Forge the pieces he needed.
Armourer: How much do you have for me?
Djarin: How much will this do?
Armorer: Whatever work you found paid you handsomely. I'll send for you when it is ready.
Djarin: Thank you.
Armourer: This is the way.
Djarin: This is the way.
As the two separated, Djarin had collected his single shot disintegrator rifle and IB-94 pistol and began to plan on rescuing the child. When he got a message from his contractor, it was to meet him at the cantina, but he made another stop to the Armourer to inspect his new armor. When he arrived there was a new complete set of armor from the shoulders down.
Armourer: You have brought a great amount to work with. What do you plan to do?
Djarin: Correct a mistake. One that if left as is, will besmirch my honor.
Armourer: This is The Way.
Djarin: This is The Way.
When Djarin arrived at the cantina, the room began to quiet down in astonishment and intimidation. The baskar clad hunter then met with the contractor, Greef Karga. To discuss the job that had gone down.
Greef: Wow, Mando. I take it the client paid you well. All that armor definitely doesn't come cheap.
Djarin: The payout was a handsome one, but I've made a mistake, one I must correct before my honor is worthless.
Greef: Why? Who was your client?
Djarin: The beskar that the client paid me with had Imperial symbols on it.
Greef: Isn't the Empire gone? What would they need- We shouldn't even ask those questions, cause that's not our job.
Djarin: I'm getting him back. This is The Way.
Karga thought that Djarin had gone crazy taking on the Empire. He then kept his head down and put away the bounty puck, saving it for another hunter who wasn't as susceptible to any hokey religions and ancient weapons, as a smuggler turned Alliance hero once said, but only susceptible to credits.
In the New Republic, Generals Solo and Syndulla had sat down discussing some military tactics for defending the new territories and liberating others, and even giving her a piece of information that he could no longer bear his portion of.
Hera: I heard that you joined us moments before Yavin and rescued the Princess of Alderaan. Your kid is studying alongside mine at Skywalker's temple.
Han: Yeah. As much as I tried with her, eventually I succeeded, little did I know that the family drama would be mine to carry along with the Skywalker twins.
Hera: The princess isn't a Skywalker.
Han: She is. Luke is her brother. I'm the only one besides Chewie, Ahsoka, and those ghosts he sometimes talks to.
Hera: Her position in the senate will be up for grabs if that information gets out.
Han: Then you will keep that secret just as I have, that Chewie and Ahsoka have, before she loses potential power in the Senate. Anyways, have we found any more Imperials?
As the conversation continued, Sabine had begun talking to Zeb about joining the team of New Republic Rangers.
Sabine: Hey, Zeb! You got an extra spot on the team?
Zeb: Sabine! Glad to see ya. Well, it ain't me you gotta talk to Marshal Dune over there. From the looks of it, we're fixing to load up. Talk to her when we get back. I'll put in a good word for ya.
Sabine: Thanks Zeb! Tell her I'm great with explosives!
She told the Lasat the last part as the ships roared to life and then as the Lasat gave her a thumbs up, a quick goodbye before they left for the mission.
On the ship, Colonel Kallus had begun talking with Hera about the plan involving the Rangers encountering an Imperial presence on Kashyyyk.
Kallus: General. What are these reports of a couple Jedi joining our group to our mission?
Hera: Since the Jedi have agreed to serve the New Republic on occasional missions, they can decide to help us or not. 2 of them have decided to help us.
Kallus: Can they be trusted? Last time the Jedi helped the Republic of old, they were massacred by the clones who were the first troops of the Empire.
Hera: I have complete faith in these Jedi. My son is one of them. Has your trip to reinvigorate the Lasat population been for naught?
Kallus: No, General. I am just airing on the side of caution. While continuing to do so, I request that I join the ground assault so I can see for myself that these Jedi can be trusted and serve as servants of the Galaxy, not just us.
Hera: Granted, Colonel. These Jedi know the planet a d will be your best bet in navigating the environment and the wookiees.
Kallus: What makes them such experts?
Hera: They were born on the planet.
As Kallus continued to don his armor, blaster, and join Dune and her forces, he began imagining two wookiee jedi, something he thought was both absurd and frightening. When he got to the hangar bay, he was met by half of his expectations.
Kallus: You two must be the Jedi accompanying us I heard so much about.
Starkiller: We are, Colonel. I am Master Marek, and this is Jedi Knight Gungi.
Gungi roared a greeting to the Former Imperial agent turned Rebel Colonel.
Kallus: You two were born on Kashyyyk?
Starkiller: Yes. Gungi you expected since he was a youngling during the Clone Wars, but my parents hid on the world and had me, until they were killed by Vader. Vader took me as his own, trained me to be his weapon, and when the Rebel Alliance was formed, they used my family crest.
Kallus was shocked to hear this information and immediately cast whatever doubt he had aside and introduced the Jedi to the rest of the team of Rangers.
In orbit above Kashyyyk, Lord Cain had been discussing a battle plan with Thrawn, hoping to keep the wookiees in chains for his cloning experiments.
Thrawn: My Emperor, We have detected a rebel fleet that has just exited hyperspace. I suggest that we send the Imperial Army troopers, with the stormtroopers in reserve.
Cain: We have enough power with the garrisons of stormtroopers coming in to relieve the last one. The army troopers are ineffective with maintaining their loyalty to the Empire.
Thrawn: With all due respect, my lord, The wookiees would believe that they would be calmer if they see human faces help them, or they would see any human face as an enemy and attack any other humans on sight.
Cain: So that's your play? Excellent idea. Send the Army troops to maintain the security of the labs and have the stormtroopers guard everywhere else.
Thrawn: At once, my lord.
Cain: My apprentice, once all the necessary vessels are left to join the battle, you must board another destroyer, so the New Republic dogs think they destroyed a command vessel. If Skywalker is not with them, You will engage the less powerful if there are more. If Maul's forces arrive, deal with the silver skinned slimo.
Lumiya: Yes, my master.
Back on Dathomir, Maul and his apprentice have been meditating on Sith teachings until Maul sensed something stirring within his apprentice.
Maul: You have slowed down your rate of study. What is troubling you?
Relicta: It's that Jedi. The one who looked like the one we killed when he tried to hunt us. When I fought him on Mandalore, he said that he and the one we fought were clones of him.
Maul: Since the one you executed wielded red blades, and the one you've encountered on Mandalore had blue blades, what he has told you is true. Vader and my late former master killed him above Naboo, when their first superweapon was under construction.
Relicta: He still has to die. I will not gain certain closure for as long as he lives.
Maul: Then the decision to hunt him down will be solely placed in your hands. Take a ship and find him, if you must. We have an army to maintain and no assured method of recruitment.
Relicta: Yes, Master.
After meditating on her decision to find Starkiller, she finally made the choice and began planning on turning many Imperial troops into her own.
As the Rangers touched down along with the Rogue Shadow, they were greeted by the hiding wookiee chieftain flanked by 3 of his guards. As Gungi communicated with them about the situation, Marek translated for the group.
In the labs, the Imperial army troopers had been watching the wookiees get poked and prodded when a couple had seen a robed figure just vanish. As the soldiers pursued the figure, Relicta knew her plan was working, she was going to lure each soldier away from their posts to defect to her side. As every Army soldier continued to maintain their post, they knew their loyalties were no longer with the Empire.
Back on Nevarro, Djarin had returned to the client with intent to kill. When the 4 stormtroopers guarding him raised their blasters, he drew his pistol and aimed his free arm at another.
Stormtrooper: There's 4 of us. No way you walk put of here alive.
Djarin: I like those odds.
As the client was frozen in fear, he saw 2 blasts bounce off the armor as the hunter fired his pistol into one trooper, and the whistle rockets from his gauntlet fired in multiple directions killing the rest, sending the client running until Djarin fired a shot into the back of his head.
As the child cooed after opening the pram canopy, the beskar clad warrior tried to assure the infant that they were safe.
Djarin: Don't worry. I'll bring you back to your kind. You can trust me.
When the beskar clad warrior returned to his ship, he made sure that the pram was protected and prepared for more Imperial Forces.
As the Rangers, Kallus, Starkiller, and Gungi arrived at the Imperial base, the former ISB Agent saw a long highway leading up to the labs, much like the Imperial checkpoint on Lothal.
In the labs, Relicta finished her work moving the army troopers to position themselves ready to attack the stormtroopers. As she evacuated the labs, she contacted her master and began hunting the Jedi that were going to rescue the wookiees.
Relicta: Master, I have increased our odds against the Empire and I'm about to destroy the Jedi.
Maul: Excellent. Happy Hunting. When you destroy the Jedi, meet me on Oba Diah. We have an old alliance to rekindle.
As the female Zabrak ordered the Imperial army troops to fight against the stormtroopers, the New Republic squad and wookiee liberators joined in the battle and fought both sides. Kallus had ordered the troops and the chieftain to surround the lab entrance while the Jedi attempted to hunt whoever made the confusing move of turning the army against the stormtroopers.
Kallus: Where are you going, Marek?
Starkiller: Gungi and I are hunting whoever forced these army troops against the stormtroopers. Call Juno if you need any air support.
Kallus: Thank you, Master Jedi! Rogue Shadow, this is Colonel Kallus, we need you to lead an airstrike against any Imperial support that my come to reinforce the labs!
Juno: On my way, Colonel! I'll evacuate the prisoners if I have no other orders.
Kallus: Duly noted, Captain!
As Gungi and Starkiller found a cloaked figure, Gungi leapt in for a strike, but as the figure teleported away, Gungi was severely wounded with a stab to his ribcage, incapacitating the wookiee.
Relicta: I know who you are, Jedi. You don't fool me for a second.
Starkiller: A clone of the one you seek, yes.
Relicta: No! You are the one who took my masters away from me!!
Starkiller: You claimed to have fought and killed me, until you saw me on Mandalore.
Relicta: You will still die for Felucia!!
Starkiller then remembered what Kota told him about his vision of this woman was. As he steeled himself for a fight against the girl that his progenitor go and activated his two sapphire blades.
Gungi was crawling away to heal his wounds and as he saw the other Jedi Master fight with such raw potential compared to the Lady of the Sith. As Relicta threw her sabers after cloaking, Starkiller then balled himself up for a lightning infused Force repulse. As the energy blasted out of the Clone, Relicta had felt her robes be singed while she was thrown back against a tree. Starkiller then saw the figure disappear again and activated his unleashed state, sending Force lightning to his sabers. As Maris attempted to block each strike that looked like a blurr to anyone unable to touch the Force, but as Maris's arms continued to be singed, her defenses fell and Starkiller delivered a saber slam infused with Force lightning, further crimping her silver skin.
As Relicta used the last of her anger, what brushed it away was the last words that she may have heard from the Jedi.
Starkiller: You should've listened to me on Felucia years ago, Maris.
Relicta: That name is dead!
Starkiller: Your misery will end, Brood.
Relicta: I have a son! You can't make him an orphan!
Starkiller realized that since she was a mother, he had to reassure her that he won't come for her family.
Starkiller: I know what it is like to care for others like a family. They will be spared if they mean that much to you.
As Starkiller stepped closer to the fear-stricken zabrak, Relicta realized that she would join her former masters soon. Starkiller spun his right blade and stabbed her heart with a reverse grip, and stabbed her trachea with the left blade. The Marek clone then tended to Gungi and made their way back to the victorious alliance.
Aboard the Razor Crest, Djarin had begun searching for answers as to where the child he had in his care belonged. When he landed on Tatooine, he landed in a city where another job was about to take place that required multiple members. One member was a former Imperial Marksman by the name of Migs Mayfeld, and the others were a rather legendary pair; one was a Gand bounty hunter with a very keen talent for psychometry named Zuckuss, and a protocol droid like partner in crime by the designation 4-LOM.
Their job entailed taking some highly classified Imperial information that was about to be declassified aboard a star destroyer above Kuat. The veteran pair were very eager to get the job done efficiently and quickly. The other two, who had less experience were very dubious about what the intel was and who should possess it.
Mayfeld: So, Mando. You ever met those two?
Djarin: No. I haven't heard if them.
Mayfeld: My former CO told me that they wre tasked by Darth Vader to find a Corellian Freighter containing rebel officers and leadership. I never liked bounty hunters, but it's better than The Empire I can say that much.
Djarin: What do you plan to do once we get the information?
Mayfeld: From what I understood from those two, they're the kind to kill any partners to grow their share. How about we turn the tables on them, you and me? Huh?
Djarin: If those two are as legendary and skilled as you say they are, killing them would serve a tactical advantage and a good monetary step up in this line of work.
Mayfeld: Good. Thanks. We'll be rich and famous, well, infamous, for taking down those two.
When Mayfeld entered an Imperial encryption that checked out the crew entered the decommissioned destroyer and extracted the information needed from two different sections of computers. 4-LOM and Zuckuss had one half of the intel and Djarin held onto the other. As their clocks ran down, Mayfeld saw information about Operation Cinder and found that his CO was a field officer in the near destruction of his post on Burnin Konn.
As the bounty hunter crew split into two pairs and eventually spread themselves out, they were on the hunt to eliminate those they believed to be loose ends. Throughout the vacant destroyer, Djarin had used his cycler rifle to move from cover to cover as he searched for the droid. Mayfeld drew his DT-12 pistols and SE-14r pistol on the hunt for the gas breathing insectoid hunter.
Aboard the Razor Crest, The child had grown worried that he was left on his own, but remembered everything he had experienced during the purge almost 30 years ago.
As Zuckuss had turned a corner near the reactor room, Mayfeld had found the perfect shot with his trio of pistols, but a slip of one of his legs let out a screech causing Mayfeld to fire on the hunter, landing 3 precise shots to his right eye, heart, and his left thigh. A stray blast from Zuckuss's blaster left a hile through the rafters of the room as Mayfeld let himself fall to the walkways and make his way to take Zuckuss's information.
As 4-LOM continued to hunt one of the lesser hunters, he slowly began turning his head to see Beskar through a corner slot before seeing the cycler round fire through the corners of the halls, missing the droid's head, causing the droid to slowly approach approach him, blasting with the DLT-19 he had stolen from an Imperial outpost on Mimban.
Djarin knew that he had time to load another shot, and as he flanked the slow moving droid, he snuck around behind him and used another cycler round to the back of the hunter's head. As the brain-like head flew off the body, the protocol droid body collapsed forward, and Djarin switched to his pistol as he thought he had to fight his way back to his ship. When he saw his ship in the hangar, he tried contacting Mayfeld about his location.
Djarin: Mayfeld? Where are you?
Mayfeld: I'm not going with you. I'm taking a TIE to the rendezvous point. Meet me back at Mos Pelgo so we can get our credits.
Djarin: Fine. I'll meet you there.
As the two landed in different ports on Tatooine, they returned to their contractor, Ranzar Malk, they were each paid 32,570 credits, due to 4-LOM and Zuckuss perishing on the job.
When the Mandalorian and Former Imperial parted ways, Djarin had continued his quest to find the child's kind.
On Dathomir, Maul had recently learned that his apprentice perished on Kashyyyk, but her passing had a massive effect on his ability to maintain his own Sith Triumvirate. He had recently taken another apprentice in case Relicta decided that the way of the Sith was no longer important to her.
Maul: As you can feel, my new apprentice, Lady Relicta has been destroyed by the Jedi. Even though both of us had agreed to train you, it seems that you will learn the traditional ways of the Sith. This begins another chapter, Lady... Talon.
Talon: Yes, my master. We will conquer our enemies and usurp galactic power on a massive scale.
End of Part 13

2023.06.03 11:20 Reflexrider [Satire] List of known issues :

Hey guys !
Thursday's TWAB was kind of a light one, and even if I enjoy the game on a daily-basis for years now, the TWAB gave me some imagination for a purely fictionnal list of "Known issues", based on some of this community fan's favorites. Feel free to ad your own flavor, will edit the post with the best ones if it does pick up.
I'm french, sorry for potential grammar or vocabulary mistakes, I hope you're still gonna have fun reading this.

Known issues :
- A current exploit allows players to access Salvage with a 6 man fireteam instead of 3.
- the Xenology quest awards progression in Strikes playlist even if not completed flawlessly and on a different subclass than the weekly surge.
- Roots of Nightmares and Ghost of the Deep activities had their names and fireteam sizes been swapped together : Ghost of Nightmares was intented to be a 3 man dunjeon, and Roots of the Deep a new 6 man activity.
- We are investigating a bug where some people have been able to craft some of the Neomuna weapons
- The sandbox team is investigating an issue where all legendary weapons in the game have the origin trait "Wet Noodles" accidentally built-in. This new origin trait will be the new origin trait for season 23 weapons aka Season of the Ramen.
- Lightfall DLC Expansion : some dialogues, caracters, and aesthetics from our upcoming franchise [Redacted] have been accidentally shipped into Destiny. Given these elements have remain into the game for the last 4 months, we are cancelling the crossover Quest we had planned hitting Eververse Store Q3 2024.
- We are currently investigating an issue where players have access to a currently unsupported game mode named Gambit
- Internally, we are aware of an issue where the IA "ChatDMG" writing the TWABs sometimes says the opposite of what we actually implement into the game, for instance buffing Duality artifice armors stats or introducing brand new core playlists armors every year.
- On a larger scale, we plan to further extend the gap between how quickly we fix issues that benefit to the players VS how slowly we fix issues that don't

2023.06.03 11:17 Lilypool44 Jonas Quinn joined SG1 to explore the galaxy in s6. Has anyone ever noticed how little he actually explores?

I'm currently in the middle of a full re-watch of SG1, and it just struck me how much of season six actually takes place on Earth. So by extension, how little of the galaxy Jonas actually explores...
Obviously, there is the implication that Jonas has seen many worlds off screen, he even alludes to the amazing things he saw as part of SG1, but in terms of what we see on screen, Jonas rarely leaves Earth in his entire tenure at Stargate Command.

Episode Description JQ on other planet?
1: Redemption Pt1 Anubis attacks Earth No
2: Redemption Pt1 Anubis attacks Earth No
3: Descent Find Thor-controlled Anubis ship No
4: Frozen An Ancient discovered in Antartica No
5: Nightwalkers NID controls town with symbiotes No
6: Abyss Baal tortures O'Neill No
7: ShadowPlay Return to Kelowna Yes (his home planet)
8: Other Guys Scientists save SG1 Yes
9: Allegiance Earth secret base compromised No
10: The Cure Pangarans Make Tritonin Yes
11: Prometheus Secret got project discovered No
12: Unnatural Selection Visit Replicator controlled planet Yes
13: Sight Unseen Ancient device that shows aliens on Earth Yes
14: Smoke and Mirrors Framed assassination of Kensey No
15: Paradise Lost Maybourne secret weapon cache Yes
16: Metamorphisis Nirriti experiments on SG1 Yes
17: Disclosure Clip show No
18: Forsaken Serakin and Herbridians Yes
19: The Changeling Tealc dream No
20: Memento Air Force break Prometheus Yes
21: Prophecy Lord Mot Yes
22: Full Circle Abydos Yes

By my count, out of a total of 22 episodes, Jonas explores just 11 planets, and that includes a revist to Kelowna. In fact, he doesnt visit his first planet with SG1 until the eighth episode.
I like Jonas. I feel like the poor bugger got ripped off. The one that really makes me is Allegiance, why did they just completely leave him off the episode?

2023.06.03 10:00 AutoModerator Check Out Our FAQ: Basic Information About Kdrama Production and Broadcast - June, 2023

Welcome to our series of posts highlighting information and resources available within our subreddit. In this post, we introduce our FAQ and our KDRAMA 101, which contains some of the most commonly asked questions and other basic information about kdramas. This post will focus on a selection of questions about kdrama production and broadcast process, check out our FAQ for even more information.
If you have any additional questions about the information in this post or our FAQ, feel free to leave a comment with your question/feedback.
Why Do Kdramas Have Different English Titles?
English titles of dramas can be one of the following types:
  • Official English Title: an official English title determined by the production company/broadcast station
  • Literal Translation: a literal translation of the official Korean title (most often the official English title)
  • Alternate Translation: an alternate translation of the official Korean title
  • Alternate Title Translation: a translation of an alternate Korean title (sometimes the initial working title)
  • Alternate Title Specific to Stream Source: certain streaming sites have alternate titles for dramas
We advise checking the drama title on a resource such as MyDramaList for alternate titles.
How Many Episodes And How Long Is Each Episode?
Most kdramas are between 12 to 52 episodes long with each episode being around 1 hour long. Notable exception: tvN shows have a tendency for 1hr+ episodes, especially for the newer shows. (Background: This trend was started with Reply 1997 which started with breezy ~35 min long episodes but as the drama snowballed in popularity, its episode lengths kept expanding until its final episodes were 1hr+.)
What's With The 16 vs 32 Episodes?
Due to laws regarding advertising, some broadcasters have split up their drama episodes into two halves so every two ~30-minute episode would comprise the traditional 1-hour long episode. Thus what would be the typical 16 episodes are now 32 episodes.
What Types Of Kdramas Are There?
Korean dramas can be categorized into 4 categories based on their form/length:
  • Daily Dramas (30 min episodes, usually 100+ episodes in length)
  • Miniseries (mid-length dramas, 12-20 hours long)
  • Serial/Family/Weekend Dramas (long-form dramas)
  • Web Dramas

What's The Difference Between Pre-Produced and Live-Production?
Kdramas are generally produced by production companies in conjunction with the production arm of the broadcasting station. Kdramas are generally live-produced, meaning that the drama is being filmed as it is airing.
Pre-Produced: Where the drama has completely finished filming and all after production work prior to its airing. Most kdramas broadcast on the broadcasting channels (free to air and cable channels) are not pre-produced though there are exceptions. In contrast, most kdramas produced for the streaming platforms (Wavve, TVING, Netflix) are pre-produced.
Live-Production: Most kdramas are filmed as they are broadcast. While all kdramas began filming before its premiere date, most dramas are still filming during its broadcast run, with some dramas still filming in the hours before its finale broadcast. This means that screenwriters may be writing or adjusting the script depending on viewer feedback.
Do Kdramas Have Teams of Screenwriters?
Generally only the head screenwriter(s) is credited for a drama but most screenwriters have assistants. Kdramas do not have screenwriter teams common to western/American shows because kdramas are generally not multi-season continuations that go on for years and years.
What Are Korea's Major Broadcast Channels?
Free-to-air: KBS (public broadcaster), SBS, MBC
Cable: tvN, OCN, JTBC, TV Chosun, MBN, Channel A

What Is A Typical Drama Promotional Cycle?
A drama's promotional cycle typically starts with the announcement of the project, which is often accompanied by initial casting news. Next, the initial script reading takes place and pictures are often released from this event to drum up interest in the drama. Once the filming begins, pictures taken during filming and coffee truck pictures are often shared. Usually shortly following the start of filming, official promotional material is releases, which includes drama poster(s), character posters, and teasers.
Before broadcast starts, there is generally an official press conference where the director (PD), the main cast members, and sometimes the writer will meet with the press to talk about the drama.
Before premiere or during broadcast (and sometimes after broadcast has finished), the cast members (together or individually) may appear on various variety shows to promote the drama.

What Is PPL? (Product Placement)
PPL stands for "Product Placement", which is a form of embedded advertising -- an advertising technique used by companies to subtly promote their products through a non-traditional advertising technique, usually through appearances in film, television, or other media. In short, everything worn, eaten, or used in dramas may be advertising something. Oftentimes, the dialogue will make it clear that something is PPL and is being advertised by lauding the advantages of the PPL product.
Why Do All Characters Have Same CaPhone/Vacuum/Clothes? PPL
Why Do They All Eat At Subway/Quiznos/BBQ Chicken/That One Coffee Shop? PPL
Is PPL Possible In Historical Kdramas AKA Sageuks? Yes, it's possible. See this post for insight and examples.
What Are OSTs?
OST stands for Original Soundtrack. All kdramas have their own original soundtracks (OSTs) -- songs specifically created for the kdrama. How many songs there are depends on the kind of drama it is. Generally, most dramas will have one or two theme songs that get used frequently. OST tracks are generally released as the drama broadcasts, they are not released all at once upon the premiere of a drama. Check our Drama Resources for where to find more information on OST releases.
Some dramas also use previously existing songs -- these generally are not included in the OST, though new original covers of old songs specifically made for the kdrama generally are included as part of the OST.
Sometimes the background music of the kdrama available on a legal streaming site will differ from the version broadcast on Korean television due to copyright and licensing issues. Here is a slightly more in depth explanation of why music is changed.
Why Are Things Blurred?
Oftentimes there will be things blurred in a kdrama. Blurring usually happens due to broadcasting regulations either due to copyright issues or the manner of the content being shown.
If no one is being harmed or killed, the blurring is likely due to copyright issues -- whatever is being shown does not have the right licenses to be shown/streamed everywhere so they are blurred out. This is done by post-production. Another form of blurring you may see is that brands and logos are blacked out by tape or otherwise covered within dramas so that they are not shown. These are generally done during filming and not via post-production.
If someone is being harmed or killed: broadcasting rules require blurring of weapons and other tools being used in a manner intended to hurt someone. This means that while a kitchen knife used for chopping vegetable is not blurred, if later that same knife is used for stabbing someone, it will be blurred. Note that these broadcasting rules apply only to kdramas broadcast on the broadcasting stations (free to air or cable ones). This means that movies will not be blurred. Additionally, kdramas available exclusively on streaming services (Wavve, TVING, Netflix, Viki, etc.) are also not subject to these regulations and do not have to be blurred.
Where Is This Filming Location?
To find information about a filming location, try Korean Dramaland. You can search by a specific drama (to see the locations used in that drama) or by a location (to see all the dramas that have filmed there). They also include overseas locations. They are a still growing site and constantly adding new locations, you can contribute to it too to help it grow!
Is That A Cameo Or Something More?
The concept of cameos is very well established in kdrama-land. Actors will often make special appearances (cameos) for directors, writers, and actors they've worked with in the past in their newest works. Friends within the industry will often do this too.
When the story fits, they may cameo as a previous character. Other times, they will cameo as a completely new character, it really just depends on the situation. There's no need to force two stories togethemake up theories, just treat them as cameos.
Is There A Season 2?
In general Korean dramas are not multi-season, so do not expect a second season unless:
or
Posts asking about subsequent seasons of aired dramas are prohibited. All speculations about subsequent seasons of aired dramas should be made in one of our FFA threads.
Where Is The Sex?/Why So Chaste?
Different culture and broadcasting regulations. But also:
Ever notice a scene where the leads are either in bed or heading towards the bedroom or hugging and then the scene cuts to black or cuts off and all of a sudden the next scene seems to have been sometime after or in the morning?
That's the kdrama way of hinting that the viewer should be using their imagination right then.
Also, anytime you hear a joke or talk about how strong a male lead's back and/or waist is, the implication is how good he will be in bed.
There are a lot of hints in most dramas that involve a relationship, it's just that kdramas are family friendly so they are not visually explicit. You can watch the same drama as your grandparents and your younger siblings but only those in the know will nod and snicker at the right times.
So if you see something that you think implies a couple having sex, you are probably picking up the right cues. The visually explicit stuff is saved for their movies.

2023.06.03 09:25 crogonint List of Alternate Barovian Maps which are Needed

I'm pretty sure that the majority of Barovian content creators have already seen some version of this list. I actually went back to update my original post of the list to discover that I never made my own post of it! I put together the first version of this list a couple of years ago. I'm pretty sure this is the most complete list of its kind anywhere: Alternate areas of Barovia that are commonly needed, besides the commonly published CoS specific battlemaps:
0) The (Dark) Carnival - nobody ever makes maps / assets for this, even though gobs of people always throw it in to their campaign, even though it's old as crap. I understand that there's a Carnival Realm in the new VRGtR book.. I'll probably never use the realm-carnival, but that's a second place the Dark Carnival maps/assets could be used. There are also a trio of third party Ravenloft carnival modules as well that they could be used in.
1) Battlemap sized maps of the towns. At LEAST a 5 foot per square / hex map for the tiger chase. (Obviously modern VTT platforms don't actually need the grid on the map. ;) )
2) Random shops, stables, blacksmiths and generic places the party is likely to go anyway.
3) Generic encounter locations.. country roads / rivers / bridges and combinations of the three. It sounds dumb because you can get generic encounter maps like that anywhere.. but it would be AWESOME to have matching Barovian roads and Svalitch woods on all of your encounter maps. Don't forget the specific crossroads with the gallows from CoS.. I don't recall if there were hanging cages mentioned, but you could throw in some PNG options for them.
4) A covered bridge, including the roof, deck and under views. (To tack on to the Headless Horseman add-in.) The Woodcutters hut as well.
5) Besides the Carnival, there are a few other old school modules that people like to bolt on to CoS (Adam, etc. etc.).
6) DragnaCarta, MandysMod and Pyram King have all developed alternate encounters and a handful of setting that might be able to use an alternate map here and there. (Orphanage.) In particular, I recall battles in/near the bogs, on mountain sides with/without roads and watch towers. Military and outfitter style tent interiors and exteriors and camps placed.. you know what? Make those camps be PNG assets that could be dropped in a bog, next to a river or on a mountain side as needed. ;) I recall Lunch Break Heroes making an encounter for Borgia/Borca, but I don't recall if they made any scenarios / encounters for Barovia. I got a special request for Beneath the Abbey.
7) The Interactive Tome of Strahd sends the party back in time and would be a PHENOMENAL set of maps to expand Barovia. Seriously, you could drop those on DMsGuild and make some bank. Some additionally pre-Strahd bright and shiny versions of the village of Barovia and other basic maps might be nice for some throw-back adventures.
8) Retro Castle Ravenloft.. Castle Ravenloft fully restored to its former glory! (Castle Barovia? I picture it as more of a walled garrison, looking like a giant stone bubble from a distance, but it did have at least one tower overlooking the cliff.) We know that the old pre-Strahd castle had multiple floors located in roughly the same place as Castle Ravenloft, but with significantly different floor plans, as the ghosts walk staircases and pass through doorways that don't exist anymore. :D (Important side-note: Strahd did not grow up in Castle Ravenloft. I believe that there is one (1) painting of him looking out over Yesterhill, through the mists at a vision of the castle he grew up in, but I don't think anyone has ever tackled it.)
9) The caverns and the alter area in and under the Pillarstone of Ravenloft (from Expedition to Ravenloft) are frequently added in to CoS. I've never seen a map of a hidden cavern entrance in the Svalitch woods, let alone a set of creepy Barovian caverns.. or the Castle side of the entrance, for that matter.
10) Around a decade ago, some weirdo drew an artistic image of Castle Ravenloft with the foundation bedrock rotted away under it. I'd like to see a detailed elevation map of the curtain wall and gatehouse with the bedrock still under the curtain wall, because that irritates me to no end. NOBODY would build a massive curtain wall on a questionable foundation. Reference Vlads actual castle (which is admittedly ten times smaller than Ravenloft) for a rather specific example of a (THE) castle built on the side of a cliff. As I recall, if looking at the gatehouse, the left side and back left corner of Vlads actual castle are protected by a cliff, and that's where the inspiration for Castle Ravenloft came from.
11)Speaking of elevation, at the other end of Castle Ravenloft are balconies and windows jutting out over the cliff. I'd love to see detailed maps of those areas, an 'ant sized' map of the Svalitch woods and Barovia as seen from the castle, and an elevation map of the cliff-side reaching from the Svalitch woods up past the windows and balconies to the Curtain wall. Parties occasionally decide to attempt to scale the cliff. Having a cliff and curtain wall that actually matches would be awesome.
12) Odd ball areas we never see. The druids must have huts or a village somewhere. The Roc must have a nest somewhere. The Mad Mage in Barovia has one of either a tower / cavern / pocket dimension somewhere. We could use Barovian flavored versions of all three. Oh, and the woods and encounters with said mage on the backside of the lake.. so a lake / forested area with spread out trees for players to run in terror or attempt to attack at range.. or whatever.
13) UNDER Lake Zarovich, there are a handful of generic encounters. There are also a few river monster encounters, generally near the Berez Swamp, could use a lair map and an underwater river encounter map, Barovia flavored. Speaking of Berez, I've never seen a detailed large scale swamp map for the Berez Swamp.. let alone the whole town being overrun by the swamp.
14) A proper Berez Swamp. A full sized swamp, with river banks, fields of cattail and reeds, murky backwaters, underwater groves of trees, and a couple of dozen oddly shaped islets and sandbanks.. a few dead logs.. not to mention a proper full sized assortment of Berez town ruins.
15) What's the village in the Adventurer's Guild Supplements?? Orasnou! There's a tiny village there (the size most people depict Berez as, because the CoS book doesn't describe the whole town of Berez properly). So that map is needed, along with.. 4 interior maps, if I recall? (Probably more, + a manor.) As well as an alternate werewolf lair and a few others, like a Barovian bluff, again if I recall off of the top of my head. I've had requests for the Gundarak villages Teufeldorf, Zeidenburg and Renika, as well as the other minor villages and..
16) The complete map of Barovia, post Grand Conjunction (done in standard modern style/graphics).
17) Various encounters have been depicted on Mount Baratok. Which would be a stark stone mountain, snowy and generally above the treeline, not like the hilly tree covered mountains where Argynvostholt and the Roc and etc. are located. I think a largish rocky encounter map of the mountainside would be the first needed. I (seem to) recall a three tiered monastery built on the side of a cliff, with a freshwater spring enclosed that would require an elevation map along with three small interioexterior maps showing the wooden stairs going up and down the cliff-side. I recall one encounter involving a lai small cave sized area.
18) Lots of people want Van Richtens magic shop and other stuff described in his escapades. We could also use a handful of Vistani Vardos and Camps. If I recall, there are only two described in the CoS book, but there are many more tribes of Vistani than that, and we're told that they move around frequently. If might be easier to provide PNG files for the vardos, outfitter tents and assets for a large scale camp. Come to think of it, there aren't a whole lot of tokens for those smallish horses they use either, so someone might whip up 10-12 smallish shaggy horses with unique patterns to show off. They don't care one ounce for a horses pedigree, and are more than happy to keep unique looking mongrel horses as their personal caravan animals. They use mountain horse stock when breeding their horses, so they would be a bit hairier and stockier then say an Arabian.. just scaled closer to a pony size. Donkey size! They're donkey sized horses. :D ..real donkey size, if I recall 5e has some weirdness going on with their official donkey/wagon sizes that makes no sense at all for Vardos sized horses and wagons like the Vistani would have.
19) The valley where the village of Barovia is located is described as a massive fertile farming area, yet we never see any medieval farms, ranches, graineries or farmers markets for Barovia. Definitely need a few of those. Barovian farmers and ranchers would SPECIFICALLY all have the buildings that (in the real world) later became fortifications, Thick werewolf proof walls and heavily barricaded doors everywhere. No window on the ground floor. Livestock was housed indoors, in enclosed courtyards with family areas wrapped around them, or with the animals on the ground floor and the family living above on the second floor. Horse stalls and farrowing areas would be fenced off within the area. Graineries would be large round wooden buildings with barricaded doors and sturdy out-buildings. 10 foot tall max, today's 4-5 story tall graineries are a modern invention. There would probably be a large stone community grainery far on the other side of the valley from the Village of Barovia. for that matter, there ought to be a functioning grainery or warehouse somewhere between the Village of Barovia and Bonegrinder. ALSO, if Bonegrinder is no longer being used as a mill, there would HAVE to be another windmill or waterwheel driven mill somewhere else in Barovia. Many artists have envisioned a water-wheel grainery on the River Ivlis near the Village of Barovia. Corn cribs would be on the second floor of a barn for drying grain, doubling up to dry bales of hay, not primarily as a hay loft. PNGs for 2-3 styles of fencing and gates, water troughs, and some medieval horse drawn plows and rakes would be nice. Dog kennels!! Every farm would probably have it's own horse pasture or rink with a training post, and a dog kennel or run for dogs to run during the day. You know those giant mastiffs that the Barovian nobles are so fond of? Yeah, the farmers in the fertile valley near Barovia would be the only ones rich enough to be able to afford to raise those pups for the nobles. Somewhere out here would be a medieval rancher set up to raise mastiff puppies with an assortment of full grown mastiffs. Mongrel pups or runts would be sold off to neighboring farms at a discount. Roaming wolves would stay FAR away from them, and werewolf packs would likely attack them for any reason at all (if they could find a way in to the basin). I picture a LARGE farmers market and stockyards just inside the River Ivlis bridge of the Valley of Barovia. We know that Barovia is a trade center.. so there MUST be one. The bridge would offer protection if needed, and it would be the closest place farmers and ranchers could set up to provide commerce with the other villages and domains and still have the protection of being inside the gates. Hmm.. they might have a dirt race track there for showing off horses going up for sale. Make that very probably, The Vistani/Romani are famous for defending their mountain horses at the drop of a hat. This would be the main place of commerce for farmers goods in Barovia. This is (the main area) where Vistani Caravans would import and export farm goods in to and out of Barovia.
20) There would absolutely be homestead (small) sized farms and ranches carved out up in mountain valleys or even on mountain sides facing south. In fact, a south facing mountain side might get enough sunlight to raise delicate crops, spices and herbs, whereas most of Barovia can't, due to the mists blocking the sunlight. Also, a couple of mountain pastures with matching rocks / trees bordering them would be nice. Honestly though, if you pass out some rock and tree assets that match the ones you already use, anybody could throw together their own mountain pastures, or even their own valley pastures. Rows of crops are hard to find though! You could easily have scenarios of wolves/werewolves hunting the party in a cornfield.. but there are no Barovian cornfield battlemaps. ACTUALLY, I don't think I have any battlemap sized crop assets, and I probably have the largest collection of map assets around. You could probably sell these farming assets/maps on DriveThruRPG and DMsGuild as well, I've never seen them anywhere. ..OR you might ask Forgotten Adventures or Tom Cartos to throw some together, whatever seems clever. :) I've been asked specifically to try to get Yaedrag (barbarian-esque village in the mountains that Dragna wrote up) made up.
21) Jenny Greenteeth's Hut.. perhaps a grove of her untainted trees from the Quivering Forest? (Also the Glumpen Swamp and Vanishing Hills, various locations within these.) I picture the Quivering Forest loaded with fruit and nut trees and songbirds fighting for real estate (the text mentions angry squirrels).. surrounded by classic Svalitch Woods half-dead spooky trees. ;) I recall seeing a couple of versions that roughly followed the description given in DDAL04, but they're just a hut, not the whole barrow surrounding her hut as described. Additionally, many artists have upscaled her hut to be a small trading post, and put it on wooden poles, swamp style (never seen a battlemap of it, though). Lots of room for creative renditions there. :)
22) Another thing that I haven't seen ANYBODY making is small abbeys. The hills and mountains of Barovia are said to be littered with small abbeys. ..some of them abandoned, some not.
23) Abandoned mansions and manors. Strahd massacred the noble families of Barovia for their involvement in his father's murder. There is one legend of a nobleman possessed by a demon that Strahd left alive, as a curse 'worse than death'. At any rate, there ought to be a handful of abandoned / haunted mansions and manors dotting the Barovian countryside for the party to stumble in to (or check out due to a hook dropped by an informative villager).
24) There are currently NO mines in the CoS version of Barovia.. bizarre for a mountain country. It would suit that some of those decimated noble families ran some mines that have since been abandoned. Of course, it wouldn't do to host your standard monsters in a Barovian mine. I'm thinking Lair of the White Worm. Something more horrifying than dungeoneering.
25) It's been mentioned that instead of murdering the losers from the werewolf trials, they might be shipped off to be slaves in a mine, or to a plantation in the swamp. The plantation would be stick construction, as you would expect in a swamp, they would collect tubers and reeds that grow in the swamp, not traditional plantation type crops.
26) The various Barovian villages NOT included on Schleys map of (Central) Barovia usually have a town sized map plotted out and published somewhere, but no really decent overview maps or battlemap sized maps of them exist. (This need might easily be filled by a couple of handfuls of generic Barovian village buildings, field-stone and dirt street assets, and sundry village constructions.
27) Besides the Gates of Barovia, there are supposed to be watch-towers dotting the landscape as well. An operational watchtower and a couple of partially ruined ones would be awesome.

Assets nobody has made like the Dark Carnival and lake/river encounters and the Mad Mages various lair options would be the most needed. I simply don't understand why EVERY CoS map developer doesn't provide matching roads, forests, rivers and generic shops with matching Barovian assets. The maps I mentioned which you could make money selling on DriveThruRPG and DMsGuild (to me) would just be silly NOT to make. ...Van Richtens magic shop is requested a LOT. When the party first enters Barovia, I can picture them being chased in to a fortified farm by a pack of dire wolves / werewolves at dusk (perhaps the first couple of farms won't unbarricade their doors). I'm sure you can see the utility of the rest. Will everybody need a Roc nest on a cliff above the forest? No. Will DMs derail their campaign for a minute just for the opportunity to make the party loot a Roc nest? Yes. :
Finally, I would note that since I wrote this list, a few cartographers have added some of the above locations to their Library, but the vast majority of these are as of yet, untouched. :)

2023.06.03 08:53 GlueGuy00 [Kalbrosky] NBA Big Board’s Rafael Barlowe reported that “several scouts and agents” believe the Thunder are targeting Coulibaly at No. 12 overall

https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/nba-mock-draft-amen-thompson-scoot-bilal-coulibaly
"Bleacher Report‘s Jonathan Wasserman reported that France’s Bilal Coulibaly 'has a promise' in the first round before No. 14. NBA Big Board’s Rafael Barlowe reported that 'several scouts and agents' believe the Thunder are targeting Coulibaly at No. 12 overall."
Looks like it's OKC who promised Bilal to be drafted with 12th pick. Not Magic or Raptors.
Additional tidbits from the article:
-Whitmore scored 0.76 points per touch on drives, per Stats Perform, which ranked as the best among projected first-rounders
-Ausar had the highest defensive statistical impact (DSI) among players with more than 10 games in Cerebro-certified events in the league, per Cerebro Sports
-Michigan outscored opponents by 10.3 points per 100 possessions when Bufkin was on the floor, According to CBB Analytics. They were outscored by 14.0 points per 100 when he was not featured. That swing ranked fourth-best among all high-major players (minimum: 1,000 minutes) in 2022-23
-According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo, Whitehead has been “unable to conduct workouts” after his recent foot surgery
-Prosper contributed positively to winning considering Marquette outscored opponents by 26.8 points per 100 possessions when Prosper was on the court relative to when he was not, per CBB Analytics, which ranked second-best among players at all top-tier Division I programs
-Opponents were just 14-for-38 (36.8 percent) when Lively defended them in the restricted area, per Stats Perform. Meanwhile, via CBB Analytics, the other team was held to shoot just 29.8 percent in the paint during minutes when Lively was on the floor
-According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo, some believe Klintman “could have a promise” in the 20s. HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto added that “there was a belief circulating” that the Pacers are high on Klintman
-One concern for Howard is that although he is 6-foot-8, he only boxed out his opponent on just 14.0 percent of his opportunities. According to Stats Perform, regardless of position, that ranked as the lowest among all of our projected first-round draft picks

Winchester Drylok Super Steel Magnum #3 1-1/4 oz

Why We Chose It

When we think of the best shotgun shells for duck hunting, naturally, we look at Winchester. Winchester has provided generations of hunters with reliable, high-quality rounds, and the Winchester Drylok Super Steel 12 gauge shells definitely pay homage to this legacy.
But the name alone doesn’t make this shotshell the best for duck hunting. Waterfowl hunters need ammo that performs well in adverse weather conditions, has a tight pattern, high velocity, and are affordable and easy to find.
As lead shot becomes more regulated, having a good steel shot round is essential to legally blindsiding mallards and wood ducks every time you pop out of the duck blind. As duck hunters are often hunting from the water or even a boat, the double-seal wad system means your powder is always dry and ready to go whenever you squeeze the trigger.
The 1,400 fps muzzle velocity and 1 ¼ ounce payload are more than enough to fell ducks up to 40 yards away with relative ease.
The Winchester Drylok is a tried-and-true design that won’t let you down in the field. Although some duck hunters prefer more exotic loads, you can’t go wrong loading your favorite duck gun with 3" magnum Winchester Drylock ammo!

Hevi-Shot 12 ga HEVI XII 3" #4 1-1/8 oz

Specs

Pros

Cons

Why We Chose It

Ask any modern duck hunter which shotgun shells are best for honker hunting, and you’ll surely get plenty of recommendations for the HEVI-XII. This exquisitely designed shotgun shell includes tungsten shot that is denser than steel and safer than lead (which is probably illegal where you live for duck hunting anyway).
Tungsten shot is denser than bismuth, steel, and lead. Which means the HEVI-XII payload gives you a lot more bang for your buck. This means that HEVI XII shot has a density of 12 g/cc (grams per cubic centimeter) which is around 53% more dense than steel shot.
This translates to more pellets on target, deeper penetration, and more trips out into the lake for your hunting dog to retrieve all the ducks you’ve nailed.
Although HEVI-XII can sometimes be hard to find, most duck hunters will tell you that it’s worth the price of admission as this shotshell simply works every time!

Federal Black Cloud TSS 3" 20 ga #3 & #9 1 oz

Specs

Pros

Cons

Why We Chose It

Although we typically recommend a 12 gauge shotgun for duck hunting, Federal Premium Black Cloud TSS ammo is one low-recoil option we will make an exception for.
Combining #3 and #9 shot in one hull, the Black Cloud TSS (Tungsten Super Shot) maintain their velocity farther, penetrate deeper and hit harder than any waterfowl payload has before.
The secret to the lethality of the Black Cloud TSS lies in the Flitecontrol Flex wad, which opens from the rear instead of the front like traditional wads. The result is incredibly dense and repeatable shot patterns that have an effective range past 50 yards through all standard waterfowl chokes.
Comprised of 60% heavyweight TSS pellets and 40% Flitestopper Steel shot, the Black Cloud TSS shotshell unleashes a swarm of shot that leaves no chance of escape for any drake that finds itself in your sights.
Although Federal Black Cloud TSS is only available seasonally, it is well worth the price of admission if you are serious about duck hunting.

Kent Fasteel 2.0 Precision Steel 12ga 3-1/2" #4 1-3/8 oz

Specs

Pros

Cons

Why We Chose It

If you’re serious about shotgun hunting, then you’re probably well aware that Kent makes phenomenal shells for all sorts of activities. With multiple loads for turkey, goose, upland game, and deer hunting, Kent truly has a shell for all seasons.
But if you’re looking to whack some waterfowl out of the sky quickly and efficiently, then Kent Fasteel 2.0 is what you need to load in your duck gun.
Development of the Fasteel began around the wad, which has proven time and time again that it can produce boringly repetitive shot patterns in both semi-autos and in cold temperatures. A tight pattern is essential for putting down descending mallards ethically and quickly.
Kent Fasteel 2.0 was developed with duck hunting in mind, as the shot is zinc-plated while the head is nickel-plated. This adds a level of corrosion resistance to your ammo that ensures proper feeding and function in even the worst conditions.
Although Kent ammo is sometimes hard to find and will blast a few holes in your wallet, the incredibly consistent performance keeps dedicated duck hunters coming back time and again to load their shotguns with Kent Fasteel 2.0.

Remington Nitro Steel 12 ga 3" #4 1-3/8 oz

Specs

Pros

Cons

Why We Chose It

If you’re looking for a low-cost, no-frills round that will bring home the duck, then you can’t go wrong with Big Green.
Remington’s Nitro Steel line of duck hunting ammo is nothing special to write home about. However, when you need a round that simply works then Nitro Steel will get the job done.
Although it lacks a lot of the special features offered by other premium loads, Remington Nitro Steel ammo is consistent and deadly in the right hands. However, we’d recommend that you take it out and test it before duck season this year, just to evaluate how it patterns in your shotgun.

Browning Wicked Blend 12 ga 3" #2 and #4 1-1/4 oz

Specs

Pros

Cons

Why We Chose It

We’ve got to hand it to the marketing department at Browning for providing an absolutely amazing name for such an excellent duck-hunting shotgun shell.
The Wicked Blend is comprised of 70% zinc-plated steel and 30% copper-plated bismuth pellets. Combining the denser bismuth with plated steel means you’ll get a good mixture of dense payload at an affordable price.
On top of those benefits, the proprietary Wicked Wad increases pattern density for those long downrange shots. We found this load to be extremely versatile, working well for both duck and goose hunting.
Although this ammo might be a little hard to find, if you can get it you won’t be disappointed when you unload on a flock of descending waterfowl.
