Golden Retriever//Dog Groups in Moscow or Pullman?

2023.05.30 05:33 ashmeows Golden Retriever//Dog Groups in Moscow or Pullman?

I have no explanation other than I have a golden retriever & have seen so many others in town over the years, which has led me to wonder on multiple occasions: has anyone made a group, club, gang or cult for dogs and their humans?
Mine, Winston, could use canine friends to burn off energy with & socialize- as could I! Thinking group walks or visits to the park, trips to swimming spots, hiking, etc..
Thank you for reading, please do let me know if there are local Facebook groups or other unstructured gangs of pals that I could insert myself into! (If not, I may have to spearhead the creation of such a thing!)

2023.05.30 05:32 Terrible_Evening_183 What are the best happy hour places for food and drinks that you would recommend or go to?

I have heard of Añejo’s menu and their $3 tacos + $6 margaritas but haven’t gotten the chance to try it! I have tried cactus club’s happy hour menu before and it’s pretty good.
Looking for some recommendations + any hidden gems :)

2023.05.30 05:00 Ok_Original7911 Blade in the Dark - Bizarre Behavior

So I'm trying to get Blade in the Dark to complete and Diplomatic Immunity to start. Suffice it to say, I've been trying everything - saving and reloading, ensuring I have the shout, read the note, finished the quest to return the horn, using various console commands, etc. Suffice it to say, nothing is working. The "Delphine doesn't talk after you eat the dragon's soul" bug hits, the quest is completed by setstage MQ106 200,
Now it turns out that when I use "resetquest MQ106", it completes the quest and gives me the key. Daphne still doesn't more forward with the quest, I still don't get Diplomatic Immunity, and can't get to start with console commands. According to the console, the quest isn't Enabled.
I'm a bit baffled why the game is behaving this way. I know the quest has been bugged pretty much since the SE was released, and I'm probably SOL, but if anyone has any ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

2023.05.30 04:27 TheSpeculator21 Crimson Cerberus.

Crimson Cerberus.
Crimson Cerberus. Barbatotherium phoenicomonstrus. 2.4-3.2 meters long.
Cerberus have diversified massively in the waters around North America, however as most species rely on shallow sea beds to sink and trot along, most representatives of this group struggle to make their way into deep sea ecosystem. However, amongst the lineage that have developed swimming, crimson Cerberus exist as the only deepwater representative of Cerberosids and are the deepest known diving mammal. To get to the ocean floor, they will follow the continental shelf, initially swimming, but as they descend they fall asleep and end up rolling the rest of the way typically. Once they reach the seabed they have approximately 45 minutes before they need to return to the surface to breathe, muscles and bone are rich in haemoglobin and myoglobin, allowing them to hold onto as much oxygen as possible. One of the more unique things about crimson Cerberus is their mouth, relying on “lip lunges” to capture prey, a derived sort of suction that implements the tongue acting as a syringe and the lips lunging forward to Capture prey. Typical food includes fish and squid, but most small nekton are eaten. Sensitive whiskers allow them to pick up vibrations, and large eyes help them spot the distant bioluminescent glow of microorganisms that might be disturbed by potential prey, all the bioluminescence might belong to a prey animal itself. The coats of crimson Cerberus are very dense in hair, similar to the sea otter, this allows them to insulate themselves efficiently, The hair is also hollow, and has a brownie orange pigment when isolated, but when accumulated as densely as they are on the animal, they appear a vibrant red. Red is a colour that struggles to be seen this deep in the ocean, with various of a squid and fish implementing it, however it is novel that a mammal would implement it in such a way. Breeding grounds can be found across Greenland and the east coast of North America.

2023.05.30 04:15 pantaloonsss Favorite things to do, places to see, and food/restaurants to eat in Isla Mujeres?

Hey all, my SO and I will be going on a day trip to Isla Mujeres while in Cancun. We'll be staying at the Excellence Playa Mujeres and are planning to spend a day in IM. We plan to visit Playa Norte (especially for the famed sunset), Hidalgo St, and also Punta Sur. Other things we're considering are swimming with the whale sharks or the MUSA underwater museum (likely not both due to time constraints). Is there anything else that we must absolutely do or food/restaurants to eat at in IM?
Also, what has your experience been with EPM? We went with the Club upgrade but are not sure how much of an improvement it is. I believe there's a boat ride available directly from EPM to IM for an additional fee. Anyone know how much this costs?
Thanks for sharing any thoughts!!

2023.05.30 03:56 Proletlariet Bakunetsumaru

"The heavens call out! The Earth calls out! The people call out! Justice calls to me, and I answer! Bakunetsumaru, the Blazing Samurai from Ark!"
Bakanetsumaru was a samurai Gundam from the world of Ark, fighting for his nation against the invading force of the Dark Axis. However, through not fully explained means, he was teleported away, appearing in the wholly different dimension of Neotopia. Finding this location also under attack by Dark Axis forces, he helped protect Captain Gundam, Zero, and Shute from their newfound enemy before discovering he was unable to return back to his home. Trapped in this dimension, he formed the Gundam Force with his new allies, protecting Neotopia and later other dimensions from the Dark Axis threat as he waited to return and do the same to his homeland.

The Baku Shin armour is a fabled suit of flaming armour, capable of being worn only by the pure of heart. While it normally burns Bakunetsumaru when he touches it, in intense moments of combat when he's being pushed on by an intense determination to protect others the suit flies to him, donning itself onto him and granting him its power. Outside of these moments in combat, however, he's still unable to wear it. It also requires recharging after being used, with the time someone is able to wear it for depending on their spirit

2023.05.30 03:55 harry-jg Best VPN for Crypto Trading

Cyber-hooligans and digital ne'er-do-wells do seem to have a frightfully strong penchant for targeting crypto exchanges, making security breaches and attacks on your hard-earned Bitcoin stash a more common occurrence than one would like. Therefore, finding a VPN sturdy enough to fend off these electronic highwaymen, while maintaining a speed that won’t impede your trade, is a bit like hunting for a four-leaf clover. Certain VPNs would have you believe they're the bee's knees, but alas, some wouldn’t be able to safeguard a paper bag, let alone your wallets. Others might hinder your access to crypto trading platforms based on your geographical coordinates.
Having undertaken the Herculean task of putting over 40 VPNs through their paces, I've managed to sieve out the most promising ones for cryptocurrency trading. These services have been assessed for their alacrity, fortification, and their ability to provide a multitude of servers. The crème de la crème of VPNs, they bring together stellar security features and allow seamless access to your preferred platforms from any corner of the globe, without cramping your style or speed.
Perched at the top of my list is ExpressVPN. A boon for crypto enthusiasts, it boasts a splendid combination of advanced security features and blazing fast speeds that would give a greyhound a run for its money. And the icing on the cake? ExpressVPN gives you a golden opportunity to give it a whirl, risk-free, for it's cloaked in a 30-day money-back guarantee. In the event that it doesn't tickle your fancy, you can always ask for a full refund, no questions asked. A jolly good sport, that ExpressVPN, I must say.
ExpressVPN
When it comes to ExpressVPN, one could assert it’s as swift as the wind and as reliable as the sunrise. My tests showed it being a paragon of consistent and warp-speed connectivity, with a negligible drop-off of 2% on the Dutch servers – quite a stellar performance, indeed! And as I gallivanted across the digital landscape, testing servers in France, Britain, and the Antipodes, they all showed a rather admirable level of consistency. Such rapidity makes for a rather seamless crypto browsing and trading experience, as smooth as a vintage brandy.
With ExpressVPN's extensive network of servers sprinkled generously across the globe, it doesn’t quite matter where you hang your hat. A snappy, high-speed server is but a click away. Switching locations? It takes less time than whipping up a cup of tea. Handy, I say, when one is trying to access geographically-peculiar crypto exchanges from every Tom, Dick, and Harry location around the world. I found myself in Uncle Sam's land not too long ago and managed to access Binance and Crypto.com without a hitch, not missing a beat on those crucial market fluctuations.
Safety? As iron-clad as a knight's armour, I say. ExpressVPN comes equipped with AES 256-bit encryption – the gold standard in cyber defense. A rather nifty kill switch feature acts as your safety net, blocking all network traffic should the VPN connection falter, thus preserving your anonymity. And rest assured, my tests did not detect a single DNS or WebRTC leak, cementing my faith in this VPN. ExpressVPN is your digital cloak, making sure your identity remains as hidden as a sly fox in the brush, keeping those crypto transactions safe from the prying eyes of the ill-intentioned.
The only downside, if one must nitpick, is the rather steep price of $6.67 per month, making it the monocle in the VPN market. But, fear not, dear reader, for ExpressVPN often throws in delightful discounts, reducing the price to a much more digestible figure. When I signed up, I found myself enjoying a handsome 49% off, like finding an extra olive in one's martini.
Moreover, ExpressVPN comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, which is, essentially, a trial period without any risks. I took it upon myself to put this policy to the test by requesting a refund on the 28th day of my subscription. The customer service agent, a paragon of friendliness, approved my refund after some light banter about my VPN experiences. It took less time than toasting a crumpet, and lo and behold, my coffers were refilled within a mere five days.
CyberGhostVPN
Hailing from the land of vampires and castles, CyberGhost makes its residence in Romania, safely beyond the prying eyes of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance. This particular VPN service is as zealous about your privacy as Jeeves is about maintaining my sartorial elegance. It pledges fealty to a no-spying, no-logs policy, which, in layman's terms, means it doesn't jot down your digital footprints as you jaunt around the internet. Consequently, should some snoopy third-party chappie come knocking, asking for your data, they'd find themselves out of luck, leaving your crypto activities as clandestine as a midnight meeting of the Drones Club.
With an impressive congregation of servers — numbering in the thousands — scattered across a whopping 91 countries, CyberGhost is as well-connected as a socially ambitious debutante. I gave its US, UK, and French servers a whirl on various crypto trading platforms such as Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken, and they all rolled out the red carpet, granting instant access with nary a hitch. Thus, wherever you might be perched on this big blue marble, you'll find yourself able to sidestep geo-restrictions and anonymously partake in the crypto trading dance, as easily as Wooster navigates a society bash.
Now, in this rapid-fire world of cryptocurrency trading, one cannot afford to be left in the slow lane. Fear not, for CyberGhost comes galloping to the rescue. In my rigorous testing, I found that the servers in close proximity provided astounding speeds, experiencing a dip of less than 3%. Connection? Quicker than Aunt Dahlia's temper, established within an average of five seconds. Even for the servers stationed a fair distance away, the connection time capped at 15 seconds, and the speed drop remained below a barely noticeable 5%. With such speedy performance, your exchanges will load faster than you can say "pip pip", and those crypto charts will update without delay, making CyberGhost a veritable knight in shining digital armour.
IPVanishVPN
IPVanish is a chap among the elite club of VPNs that lavishes upon you unlimited device connections. Imagine being granted admission to the Drones Club, the Junior Ganymede and the Senior Conservative all at the same time, for no extra shilling, and you've got the idea. I put this to the test, coordinating a veritable symphony of devices - two Android telephones, an iPhone and my trusty Windows PC - all humming along in concert, without a hitch. A boon, indeed, for those who find themselves constantly on the move, trading cryptocurrencies from device to device, like a jazz pianist fluttering between keys.
Next up, speed, the lifeblood of any crypto enthusiast, the equivalent of having the fleetest feet at the annual Drones Club Day. While IPVanish may not quite outpace the venerable ExpressVPN in this department, it nonetheless proved a sprightly contender in my tests. I experienced but a modest 5% drop in velocity on its local servers, leaving me plenty of puff to keep my crypto charts loaded and my trades flowing like the finest Anatole's concoctions.
And let's not overlook the security, as sound and sturdy as the constancy of Jeeves' advice. Armed with 256-bit encryption, IPVanish is as impenetrable as my Aunt Agatha's resolve. Accompanied by DNS and IP leak protection, I put it through the wringer, subjecting it to a battery of DNS and WebRTC leak tests, and not once did it falter or flinch. This means you can be safe in the knowledge that your crypto dabbling is shielded from the prying eyes of those nefarious hackers and DDoS attackers, even if your favoured exchange should suffer a spot of bother with security.
However, much like the irksome occasion when my club ran out of my preferred brand of Scotch, IPVanish possesses a minor drawback - it doesn't accept cryptocurrency payments. So, if you were hoping to keep the crypto train running by using it as your method of payment, you might find yourself browsing the market for an alternative VPN service.
Private Internet Access
Allow me to introduce Private Internet Access, or PIA for the sake of brevity. It boasts a sprawling network of servers, scattered hither and thither across 84 countries, much like the droves of Wooster relatives who regularly descend upon my humble abode. As a bonus, PIA presents you with a private server, complete with a dedicated IP address, as personalized as Aunt Dahlia's most fiery missives. I took the liberty of testing this feature using a US-based dedicated server. Lo and behold, my assigned IP address remained as steadfast as Jeeves at my side, freeing me from the perpetual identity confirmations every time I frequented my favoured crypto platforms. Quite the boon, if you ask me, for those who would like a dependable, dedicated IP address for their crypto trading endeavors.
PIA doesn't skimp on security, either, providing a bulwark against online threats as formidable as Jeeves's mental acuity. Choose your weapon - 128-bit or 256-bit AES encryption, both formidable deterrents to those prying third parties intent on monitoring or intercepting your digital soirees. And while the 128-bit AES option has a bit more spring in its step, the 256-bit version offers a resistance to brute force attacks as solid as the door of my Uncle Tom's antique silver safe.
The fly in the ointment, however, is PIA's location. Much like Bertie finding himself in the path of Aunt Agatha, PIA is headquartered in the United States, within the reaches of the 5-Eyes Alliance. Despite this predicament, PIA holds steadfast to a stern no-log policy, meaning that if any probing requests for information were to arrive, PIA would have as much to offer as I would at a philosophical debate.
PrivateVPN
In the realm of online security, PrivateVPN parades about with all the aplomb of a gentleman on his way to the Drones Club, brandishing credentials akin to those of the well-renowned ExpressVPN. A veritable fortress of privacy, it brandishes the popular AES 256-bit encryption, much like one might brandish a well-mixed martini at a cocktail soiree. Moreover, the seasoned veterans among you will appreciate the ability to pick and choose from a myriad of VPN protocols, an option akin to deciding between a starched collar and an ascot. For the novices in the field, however, this could prove as tricky as convincing Aunt Agatha that cats make better companions than canaries.
While PrivateVPN may not boast the kind of expansive server network as other VPN providers (the sort that could give Aunt Dahlia's gaggle of country hounds a run for their money), it compensates with considerable velocity. During my empirical investigations, I found its servers in the US, Europe, and Australia to be as fleet-footed as young Bingo Little chasing after his latest romantic fancy. This alacrity enables faster updates on your crypto charts, allowing for brisk trading that would put even Market Snodsbury's bustling market day to shame.
One aspect to bear in mind, however, is that much like Bertie inadvertently finding himself under the jurisdiction of a headmistress at a girls' school, PrivateVPN is subject to the 14-eyes jurisdiction due to its Swedish roots. Hence, the company could theoretically be obliged to share your data with the constabulary, domestically or across the borders. Nonetheless, owing to its no-logs policy, PrivateVPN would be as devoid of shareable information as Bertie Wooster would be of romantic advice for his friends.
The Jeeves Guide to Selecting the Top-Drawer VPN for Crypto Dabbling
One does not simply choose a VPN for cryptocurrency trading as one would select a necktie for a jaunt about town. This requires rather more contemplation, akin to selecting the perfect cravat for the annual Aunt's Day tea party at Brinkley Court. The crucial factors to keep an eye on can be summarized as follows:
Security Features: Much like Bertie Wooster's persistent Aunt Agatha, hackers have an alarming tendency to set their sights on crypto exchanges. These digital bazaars are as prone to cyber mischief as Bertie is to finding himself engaged against his will. In light of this, it is essential to employ a VPN that has security as tight as Jeeves's grasp on etiquette, keeping your data and identity as unblemished as the Wooster reputation (on a good day).
Speeds: Cryptocurrency, my dear chums, is as unpredictable as young Tuppy Glossop's appetite, demanding swift decisions to amass the largest pile of the proverbial spondulicks. This is where connection speed becomes as crucial as a well-mixed cocktail at the end of a taxing day. Opt for a VPN with connection speeds that would give a racing greyhound a run for its money.
Server Network Size: Much like Bertie's wandering eye when it comes to the fairer sex, cryptocurrency exchanges are often restricted by regions. A VPN, therefore, acts as your digital Jeeves, facilitating your swift maneuvering past geo-restrictions. A larger server network gives you a broad array of options, improving both the connection speed and stability.
Device Compatibility: It is of utmost importance that your chosen VPN plays nice with your preferred gadgets. It should be as versatile as Jeeves on a Saturday evening, effortlessly supporting Android, Mac, iOS, Windows, and more.
Simultaneous Device Connections: Just as the old Wooster charm works its magic on multiple fronts, so should your VPN's ability to connect to multiple devices under one subscription. This means that whether you're ensconced in your favourite armchair or on the move, you'll be able to trade with the ease of an old hand at the Drones Club dartboard. All of my top choices, much like a well-trained valet, provide multiple device connections with each subscription plan.

Respect Nemesis!

A prototype intelligent bioweapon created by the sinister Umbrella Corporation. Let loose in Racoon City, it was given a single order: hunt down and kill S.T.A.R.S. members, more specifically Jill Valentine. Relentless and nigh-unstoppable, it took nothing short of an experimental, high-powered railgun to take the mutating terror down.
All feats come from the 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3 unless stated otherwise. The "cutscenes" category also includes scripted gameplay.

First Form

Nemesis's initial and most iconic form. He can produce a prehensile tendril from its body, seemingly only one at a time.

2023.05.30 03:31 apearisnotameal Unbearable.

I feel like a wet sandbag being dragged through a field of broken glass.
I don't think there's much that anyone (self included) can do or say to make life feel okay right now. I try so fucking hard. To survive, to be a decent person, to function. I do my best to do "the right things" to take care of myself and that works better than doing nothing. But I am so fucking tired. And it still hurts. And that sucks.
Today I made myself go on a short hike. I saw a mother duck with a bunch of cute little yellow ducklings swimming behind her. And it felt so cruel that I could not feel any excitement over stumbling on this magical little scene. Just the same hollow chest, weighted limbs, and crushing hopelessness. Rude.
The only thing bringing me a sense of peace right now is knowing I have a good exit plan. I'm not going to kill myself today or anything, but I feel better at least knowing I can leave if it gets worse. I feel trapped if I don't have a way out.
It's just one of those times where I wish my suicide attempt almost 9 years ago had worked. But it didn't, so here we are.

2023.05.30 01:17 ineedabettertitle I'm a homicide detective. Apparently things can get a whole lot worse.

When you're in the business as long as I've been, you're bound to see some messed up shit. Trust me, I've seen it all.
An unfaithful husband angering his wife to the point where she commits a murder-suicide?
Check.
A young woman pushed into the path of an incoming train by an obsessive stalker?
Check.
My sister bleeding to death after being pierced by thousands of toothpicks, which caused the killer to so aptly call her the 'human hedgehog'?
Check.
As you can probably tell, it's that last case that I'm dealing with currently, trying to figure out how the hell the killer managed to get away with it. I mean, if you think about it, nothing adds up. For starters, the toothpicks had to have been inserted at a secondary location, prior to her being transported and left for dead at the park where she was found.
All without any witnesses.
And then comes the question of the toothpicks themselves. The paramedics at the scene found it impossible to move her, as it would drive the toothpicks further into her skin, increasing the blood loss.
Well, I actually did have an answer for that question, but it was something I didn't want to think about. The toothpicks were probably inserted one at a time. Over a period of several months, possibly years. Let the wound heal, and then move onto the next toothpick.
Which brings me to my final dilemma. Why? What did the killer gain spending months of their time piercing the skin of my sister? Why was it my sister in the first place? I don't know of any reason it would be an act of revenge, so it may have been a murder of opportunity. Just pure chance it was my sister.
Which made it hurt even more.
It was definitely a shock discovering she was still alive after all these years, and seeing how she was treated only added salt to the wound. I was grieving, yes, but the killer mentioned that my sister would only be the beginning, and so solving this case would be my utmost priority. I couldn't let this happen again. True grief could come later.
And so I sat in my office, sliding her my sister's watch over my wrist, and milling over these facts, with the first step to discovering the killer currently in my hands. A day after the killings occurred, a birthday card containing an address was mailed directly to me. Forensic work indicated that the handwriting on it perfectly matched the note left at the crime scene.
While getting a hand written birthday card was interesting in itself, it still raised a lot more questions. How did the killer know I took up the case? Where they at the crime scene that night? Maybe they knew it was my sister that they had killed, and were now targeting me.
As usual, nothing made sense.
But still, an address was an address. And in my line of work, you take notes like that very seriously. I thumbed over the birthday card again, looking at the cartoon giraffe telling me to have a 'tall'some day. Yeah, birthday card puns are strange. I analyzed the address inside again, looking at the word 12 Baker St, as if they may have some hidden meaning that I hadn't discerned yet.
Nothing came to me. It looked like the address was just that, an address. And so I coordinated with my supervisor to lead a team that evening down at Baker St, to see if we could anything down there. I was secretly hoping that we wouldn't, and that this was just a wild goose chase. As I was terrified of what I would find down there, if that was not the case.
Later that evening, I showed up at 12 Baker Street with three of the finest men I knew. Thompson, a mountain of a man, who I knew firsthand could keep a level-head in any situation. Ramirez, not physically impressive as Thompson, but he had the brains to make up for it, his quick wit was known to save many a cop from danger. And Eddison, an analyst both in the field and out, he somehow finds a way to keep one eye on every detail.
I picked the best of the best to deal with the worst of the worst.
Baker Street itself was a row of warehouse buildings in the industrial district, on the outskirts of town. All the warehouses were exactly the same, large, rectangular and made up of red brick and mortar. Almost half of the warehouse's were still in production, manufacturing different materials to be shipped across the globe, while the other half looked abandoned.
12 Baker Street was one of them.
It had the signature 'there's nothing worth looking at here' look. Smashed windows, rubbish piled around the outside, bricks crumbling in a few odd spots, and doors set slightly of their hinges.
But this was the place. I set my jaw and motioned to the others while slowly making my way through the already open front door. It took a while for my eyes to adjust to the dark interior, as I was opposed to using a torch in that moment. I could hear the unmistakable sound of water dripping from the ceiling into a hollow object nearby. The air seemed thick and musty, smelling largely of wet cardboard, and something more metallic.
Blood. A tangy smell that quickly invades the nostrils, while leaving no room for other smells.
I pushed on, my crew keeping pace behind me. Eddison looked at me with a raised eyebrow, and I nodded to him in return. 'This is the place.' I had silently told him. 'Be ready for anything.'
We passed through another set of doors and came into a room dimly lit by an overhead light. And in the middle of the room, basking in the light, there was a person.
And I say person very lightly.
The average person has a neck 13-15 inches long, measuring from shoulder to chin. The person before me had a neck over ten times that length. They were on their hands and feet, their neck sprouting from their shoulders like a vine, and curling downwards. Their neck continued across the floor for about five more feet, before ending with a neck attached to it.
The person saw us, and began to slowly shuffle towards us, slowly dragging their head and massive neck along with them. They moaned mournfully as they moved, and I could see trails of blood slowly pouring from what seemed to be stitches every couple of inches along their neck.
As they moved forward, their blood fell to the ground, spilling in all directions and leaving a bright red trail wherever they went. The person groaned again, and looked up at us, obviously in tremendous pain.
"What the hell is that?" Ramirez said loudly, from behind me.
I kept my gaze focused towards the person, towards him as closer inspection revealed. "I don't know. Another animal themed abomination, by the looks of it."
I stood my ground and watched, unsure of what to do, as he heaved his neck and the rest of his body towards us. They made eye contact with me and moved their mouth as if to speak, but all that came out were more ghastly groans. I understood what he was trying to say anyways, his mouth shaped like a circle, and opening and closing, enunciating a one syllable word.
Help.
I stepped back, out of fear more than anything else. I knew that this . . . thing couldn't necessarily do anything to harm me, but in the back of my mind alarm bells were going off. This is unnatural. People shouldn't look like that. You need to leave. Now.
I could sense my team behind me tensing up and shuffling backwards, probably going through the same thought process as I was. Fear is the primary motivator in a person, after all.
The person continued to crawl forward, further extending the trail of blood behind him, his movements more slow and haggard. His life essence seemed to be dripping away from him, and it was obvious I was watching the final moments of someone tortured to the point of death, once again.
A voice began to speak. It emanated from above us, broken and distorted, probably coming from some sort of P.A system. It was calm and somewhat cheerful in the way it spoke, as if everything going on was just a normal occurrence.
Welcome, all visitors, to the newest attraction to the human zoo. A lovely giraffe, created by slowly tearing apart pieces of his neck, and replacing it with larger, more appropriate pieces of human flesh.
I winced. That did not sound pretty.
A slow process, yes. But look at the end result! Isn't he beautiful? Undoubtedly, much better than his original form, wouldn't you agree, Jonathan?
I looked up, almost instinctively. That was my name.
Anyways, I just wanted to say a big thank you for volunteering a rather fine subject to add to my collection. I just know you'll enjoy the wonderful things I have in store for you!
The voice stopped speaking, and I became aware of two things at once.
A sharp, loud noise of metal striking metal, that was over just as it began, came from the far right hand side, on the other side of the room. A gunshot.
And to my left, Thompson's leg seemed to jerk backwards, causing him to keel over and fall on top of himself, blood spurting from an area just above his knee. A bullet wound.
I did the one thing anyone faced with an unseen gunman in a room would do. Duck and dive for cover. Fear is a primary motivator, after all. And I was scared shitless. I found myself behind a stack of boxes, which to my best guess, was blocking the gunner's line of view. I stood still, chest heaving from adrenaline and fear, and assessed the situation.
Thompson was lying on the ground, unmoving. He must of hit his head on the way down. Eddison was directly to my right, having chosen the same pile of boxes to hide behind as me. Ramirez was unaccounted for, and we had a gunman on the loose. It wasn't looking good.
And then the overhead light turned off.
Nothing makes your heart beat faster than the panic of suddenly being thrust into darkness. I heard the patter of footsteps ahead of me, close to where Thompson lay. It could have been Ramirez, looking to help him. Or the gunner, looking to finish the job. I hoped it was Ramirez.
I heard more footsteps. Heavier. Louder. More than one person. I contemplated making a dash for Thompson, grabbing him and getting the hell out of there. But he was too heavy for that. I turned to Eddison, to see if he had any idea what to do, when the light turned back on. I looked at my surroundings.
The giraffe-man was on the floor, unmoving. Dead, or close to it.
Ramirez was slumped over a box on the far side of the room. Dead, or close to it.
Thompson was gone.
The gunner was gone.
Eddison helped me carry Ramirez back to our vehicle. He had bruises all over his body, from what looked to be a fistfight, but he was still breathing for the most part. I couldn't say the same for the giraffe-man, however.
We had the rest of the warehouse sweeped, but nothing came up at all. It had apparently been cleaned of all evidence beforehand, in preparation of our arrival. Or never even used at all.
It was hard to fathom it all. I had lost Thompson, and come back with a man with a 25 foot long neck instead. Thompson was out there, looking like God knows what. Ramirez was in hospital, badly beaten. Eddison was shaken up, understandably. I was scared. Everyone was scared.
But it was the words spoken out of that P.A system that bothered me the most. The way that they said the giraffe-man's neck was made up of much larger pieces of human flesh. As if they had more humans with them. And judging by the size of the neck, a lot more than one.
There were people still out there, besides Thompson.
A lot more people.

2023.05.30 00:53 Dragomuse Sonic Rush series deserves a remaster.

It should be in the style of Spyro/Crash Bandicoot, where the game is a recreation of the original using modern game design and modern aesthetic appeal.
For the look, though. So Rush had a unique thing going for it. It had the player be a 3D model, but everything else was a sprite. Making Sonic and Blaze pop but also letting the world look appealing. This, in turn, makes the bosses stand out due to them being 3D Models too.
To keep that charm but have it work for a modern console, Have the whole thing be 2D hand-drawn animation. I would say like the remake of Wonderboy (Which do check out; the entire game is traditionally animated, and it's beautiful. You can also switch between old NES Image/ Chiptune Music and the new look/Orchestral with a button. ) The benefit is that this is a design style that ages like wine. Look at Wario Land Shake It. That game is 15 years old. It is about three generations behind. The only thing that tells you it's age. It is the fact that being a Wii game, it's standard definition.
The tricky part would be Bosses. A solution would be the Paper Mario route, where the model is 3-D. However, its animations and assets are hand-drawn. This will allow bosses and things like the adventure ocean mode to stay. While not using 3-D models that would stick out jarringly.
Now the fun part. The extras!
Due to the games being recreations minus visual upgrades and noticeable changes needed due to the lack of a duel screen. I'm just going to skip over that. A fun remaster includes extra stuff to incentive beating the game again.
I'm a sucker for the cast, and I think they would be perfect as playable options after a criteria is met. Once a character is unlocked, they can be played in any level that has been beaten. Unless I clarify their gameplay style, assume it would be similar to Sonic/Blaze minus the Boost. All of them should use the boost meter in unique ways. Here's how it would go:
I've been playing all three games for the first time and I'm having a lot of fun.

2023.05.30 00:18 terrysaurus-rex [TOTK][BOTW] Opinion: these games would benefit from a "skill tree" mechanic.

Here are three seemingly unrelated gameplay flaws of BOTW and TOTK:
What I think they all have in common is that a well-balanced skill tree mechanic could have addressed all of them.
  1. Many of the gear buffs such as attack up, stealth up, and climbing speed, would have worked well as incremental skill tree upgrades. Some, climbing speed in particular, feel like they should just be permanent attributes for link, as they are so useful that having to swap outfits to access them just gets annoying. Outfits could still have unique attributes, such as weather protection and maybe elemental resistances. Players could experiment with different combinations within the skill tree and different outfits/weapons to create "builds" for different playstyles.
  2. Having this kind of a reward/progression system could allow for a new kind of collectible, one that mostly comes from enemy parts. Let's say there's a shop owner who can melt down enemy parts into some currency to be used in the skill tree, similar to how Zonaite gets forged into new battery upgrades. Low level enemies would be a low conversion, while high level enemies and miniboss parts would net big payouts.
  3. This would address combat usually not being worth it. Fighting enemies really just gives you stuff so you can fight more enemies, but this gameplay loop is way too closed and doesn't work if you prefer to just avoid combat or you already have a good weapon inventory. With a skill tree unlocked by engaging in combat, now you might be motivated to fight that lynel not just for his spear, but so that you can swim faster, have an easier time climbing, etc.
If done wrong this could obviously become too grindy, but that could easily be avoided. As long as no essential upgrades are hidden behind grinding enemies, and the player can advance in the skill tree a decent amount just by playing normally, I think this kind of mechanic would add a lot to player progression and combat.

2023.05.29 23:06 Sasquatch_Santa The Shadow Man's Lullaby

This started as a worldbuilding/D&D before it took a hard swerve. So its about the Shadow Man. He's the boogeyman. He's mental illness. He's those childhood fears that never went away. It got a little too real for me writing this, not gunna lie. But I hope it gets under your skin as much as it has mine.

The Shadow Man's Lullaby
Call me vile, call me knave, call me naught but ill-behaved.
Long I stalk, without a sound. In shadowed realms, I roam unbound.
With heart of pitch, and voice of shade, past my lips, truths’ forbade.
Lurking close, beyond your bounds, I skulk unknown, and shan’t be found.
Through lightless hearths I spread my plague. Where souls, once proud, all but fade.

Call me twisted, call me cruel, call me naught the wisen’d fool.
Where whispers wail, and secrets lie, in darkest depths, your hopes’ confined.
With eyes that pierce, and swim like pools, I’ve come for you, to seek my dual.
I hear your thoughts, your silent cries, in labyrinths wrought by troubled minds.
Step by step, you’re overruled, by fears that feed on flesh and gruel.

Call me haunting, call me spawn, call me naught your humble pawn.
Near I draw, to earn your blame. To sow distrust and cause you pain.
When light is spent, and day is gone, I prey on all who’ve come undone,
Whose doubts convene with hidden shames. Those bold enough to seek my name.
So hold yourself, this won’t be fun. Just pray you last until the dawn.

Synopsis:
"Ueno-san, you're cringe"
As the head of her middle school's science club, it's only fitting that Ueno is also a brilliant inventor. With devices that can convert any liquid into drinkable water, deodorize the most foul smells, or even generate dark matter to be used as a means of concealment, it seems like nothing is beyond Ueno's capabilities. However, she doesn't invent these devices for the advancement of mankind. Rather, the one force that motivates her is love, the only phenomenon she can't quite figure out.
Ueno is head over heels for Tanaka, her nonchalant fellow club member. Yet, because she is too nervous to confess her love and he is too oblivious to notice her affection, her love life is completely stagnant. In Ueno's mind, if she could just expose him to perverted situations, then surely he'd get flustered and fall for her, right? Assisted by her stone-faced classmate and dedicated wingwoman Yamashita, Ueno employs her many inventions on Tanaka in a lewd manner in hopes that he may one day understand how she feels.

Why should you watch it?

I mean, isn't the answer obvious? How Clumsy you are, Miss Ueno is a ten volume manga from Tugeneko, a 4koma specialist who has a history of slice of life comedies in Care to Caret and Swim Team, the slice of life about girls going about their day to day lives in swimsuits. Anyway, the bloke has a history of questionably lewd comedies and that's right up our Rewatch Group's tastes! This one is even heavily inspired by Doraemon. We all grew up with Doraemon right?
Ueno itself ran from 2015 to 2022 and got itself a neat little 15 minute comedy skit anime in 2019, which is what we'll be watching this month. It's not long, pretty comfy, and will be loaded with more questionable content than you can shake a phallic looking stick at. The anime came from our friends as Lesprit, famous for some weird capybara anime? and the director, Tomohiro Tsukimisato, did... rockman? He worked on one of the Battle Network anime and on Kirakira Kirari. And Tanuki to Kitsune.
It stars Yu Serizawa who everyone here loves as Shera from Demon Lord, as Ueno and features Miku Ito singing our banger op! There is also an English dub available but I'm sure my rewatchers are too cultured to watch a dub, RIGHT!? It has a nice cast tho. Hillary Haig as Ueno, Monika Rial as Yamashita. It also has "Patty Cakes" playing Mizuna. There's no way that's right? XD
So, if I haven't convinced you to watch Ueno yet then please sample a couple extra cultured clips that will explain the show better than looking at its iffy cast history~ We have a highlight clip from Nekomanscer lovingly referring to Ueno as The Pee Drinking Anime. The phone charging scene~ And of course the tights smelling scene. We've got so much more! Aaand this is my birthday rewatch so you're all obligated to come~ 12 episodes, 15 minute runtime, lifetime of trauma! Let's fucking gooo!
The series is available to steam on HiDive, Crunchyroll, and I think a lot of them are on YouTube right now too!

Fun Stuff

Simple and clean!! We've got our normal Questions of the Day, although I may cut down the number depending on how much actually happens each episode. We will have Comments of the Day!! I'll be stealing highlights from whoever leaves the most interesting insights day to day. I only accept comments coming from watchers who have replied to three other rewatchers however!! Don't be shy, we're all in the same boat here. I also have one final section... that will more than likely flop again but I'm gonna beat this dead horse until it works!
Abyssbringer's "What is the thematic purpose of this scene corner!!"
In this section I will be posting a preview pic of the following episode. Your challenge is to dedicate a small write up about the "thematic" purpose of said scene~ The best submission will get a dedicated spot in our patented Abyssbringer's "What is the thematic purpose of this scene winner's corner!!"
So to be clear, check the preview that I will be posting each day, be sure to write an extra addidum or quip filled monologue about that particular scene/screenshot, and include it in your post! For examples please check out Ichigo Mashimaro and Kodomo no Jikan or Kunoichi Tsubaki! Just to be clear this section is made for a bit of fun. If you don't understand it, please check with me and I'll explain it further. I'm gonna make this a thing if its the last thing I do!!

Dates, times and plans

I plan for the rewatch to begin on Tuesday the 13th of June at 22:00 UTC, 17:00 EST 16:00 CST, 15:00 MST, 14:00 PST So 10pm UK time. We will be doing one episode per day with a series discussion to wrap up.
And so! You must drink my urine, HelioA!!
