2023.06.03 15:43 Kimingwriter Post-CAPTION RULES that’ll get clients exploding your inbox as an unknown and new trainer in the area (copywriter’s tips), the way to get people to DM you for a change.
If you’re blasting posts 10 times a week… and tried every idea AI gives you but still wake up to an empty inbox and ZERO impressions in the morning.
Then here is caption guidelines to keep in mind when writing a winning caption for the post you worked so hard on.
I’m sorry but NOONE cares about YOUR SERVICES until you FIGURE this OUT.
How do the top fitness influencers rise to the top? It’s not because they know anything more than you… Or because they’re one of god’s favorites. It’s simply because they follow the end-of-week kindergarten tradition, Show not tell. For example, Jeff Nippard is known as THE GUY for science-based workouts and Chris Heria is THE GUY for calisthenics because they show it – not say it. Jeff shows it through his detailed research and Chris does it through his workout videos.
Now where am I going with this and how does it relate to writing a caption that forces people to pay attention? Well, you need to show what you’re offering before saying what it is (if you even say it at all – links to the next rule). NOONE CARES – and I mean NOONE – will care about your services until you’ve shown that (A) you can provide value specifically for their problems/desires and (B) you’ve PROVEN that you can provide actual value for them. I understand niching down to a more specific audience can seem to limit, especially since you have no clients yet, but if you want to show that you can help them. The best way is to cater to a specific problem or desire that your service can provide the solution for.
A rule of thumb for finding what problems and desires you can target is to (1) ask people you know who are of that target market, (2) go on FB or IG and see what people around your area are saying, or (3) go on google maps to local gyms review and see what people are saying. Although there are hundreds of other ways you can research people’s problems and desires, those are the three off the top of my head.
You’re KILLING every glimmer OF HOPE for them to be CURIOUS & INTERESTED
Linking back to showing before telling, you don’t want to tell everything there is to know about the service you’re advertising for the post. Sure tease a few mechanics on what type of training it uses, but NEVER tell everything there’s to know about it. When you tell EVERYTHING, you kill the main driving motives for them to personally reach out to them. Which if you haven’t figured out, is curiosity and the burning desire to learn something new. Why do you think back in 3rd grade wherever there was a secret floating around the room, everybody wanted in? IT’S BECAUSE HUMANS WANT TO KNOW THINGS. Especially if it can benefit their lives in some way. So be sure to never-ever reveal everything your service has in store and replace it with a CTA instead.
Another big curiosity-killer is mundane and unlogical mechanisms. As I said, you don’t want to include everything but enough to make it believable and presented in a way that’ll be exciting. Don’t worry I’ll tackle both one by one. First, believability is pretty basic and easy to understand. Is your solution cardio when they’re trying to gain muscle? Second, excitement. You need to present your mechanism in a way that sounds new and interesting. This could be adding a twist to something that already exists or just coming up with a name that relates to it. Then you need to add a SPECIFIC benefit that’ll come as a result of the mechanism. For example (with both excitement and benefit shown), “...decline Push-EXPLODE movements that’ll have your chest ready to erupt like an active volcano”. Something that’ll sound interesting and make them want to reach out or ask questions to learn more.
Anyway, those are the few guidelines you can use to force unanswered questions in the reader's mind and make them DM for more. I hope you can find use in this and start filling out your schedule and testimonial. Again, any questions or comments you have can be left in the comments or private DMs.

2023.06.03 15:42 GreenKweensarah Best Options?
Getting straight to nitty gritty, seeking advice:
I'm a 33(F) mom, with a 13yr son who has had to stay with my parents since birth due to deployment. However, we all know that you have to eventually come home from deployment and assimilate back into civilian life. Well, after my son has turned 3, hes still living with my parents up until today. (Home of record was Cali, duty station in Louisiana, son with parents in Cali.) So knowing I'm a mom, I travel back home...I was under the most stupid impression that my VA pay would help me secure a house: HA! Getting paid only 983 a month, I had no choice but to leave son at my parents so he can maintain a roof over his head, me go homeless so I could pay for my car Note and insurance and the rest would need to go to my son for clothes and food.(Before son turned 3 both my parents were still working; son turned 7 and my mom had to retire while dad created an at home business so money was still flowing in for them.) My parents stayed unaware of my homelessness until I realized one day that I can't even hold a job down because I'm that messed up in the head to focus correctly on completing a job task EVERY DAY....(long story but it doesn't matter because....)
Don't know when it started but my mother refers to my dad as my grandfather while my dad refers to my mother as grandma when they both talk to me. Example: "Hey, your grandpa taking your son over to your brother's to spend the night since we are going out of town." You guys, I didn't EVER think I can shed my tough skin over constantly being "mocked" in a way of having to be told by my own parents that they are now my grandparents daily nor getting acknowledged that I've had over 10 places for my son to come live it but to my parents was never suitable for them, which we ALL know why they feel this way(had my son for so long right? Yeah, I actually get that.)
Here's what I don't get: I now have a 4br house with a decent size backyard and I'm renting it and now I have a wife who had a daughter be born after we got together. So I've been literally having to live another life while I wait patiently for the life with my son to happen. Yet, what am I really doing still being classified as his mother when my own parents literally call places to fake that its me on the phone, "the mother", they drop my son off at my brother's which apparently my son supposedly doesn't like going over there, my parents have literally taken him on vacation countless times without even asking me if I want to go, do I want him to go, ect. No really, it's ect and I'm sure you can think of all those ect things because I'm the poster for them. But to, since he's been 3, refer to eachother as grandparents when talking to me but in their presence, refer to eachother as mom and dad when speaking to my son.
I'll be blunt and honest: I now make over 3k monthly. I was never able to from 2012 to 2021, provide for my son in a way like a real mom does. But now I can. Doesn't mean I sadly didn't try before when I was in apartments, a duplex and townhouse when my son was from 5 to 8. But now, with him being able to have his own room, my parents have completely let me down by helping me get him a bed. Obviously with that income, I can get the bed but simply putting his room together, I get "We will talk about the bed another time" from my dad while my mother says, "All he needs is to repaint his dresser and move his desk, he doesn't need a new bed right now." (If you want to really see the sad text, I'll post it.)
But what am I doing if I can finally provide a roof over his head but my parents, well grandparents, refuse, to them I'm just a distant granddaughter, I'm literally able to pay for my son's BMX sport which is expensive, his karate at one point yet he stays living with my parents? Should I be giving up my parental rights at this point? Doesn’t mean I won't being paying for his stuff and he's got the option to later use the GI Bill and he's got a savings set up for him to buy his first car, and my living and dead wills already include him as the main beneficiary. When it comes to parental rights, those things have nothing to do with what those rights really are. The parental rights that I should have, are really nonexistent to my parents.
I ask because it ONLY seems that I'm just causing my son to have constant heartbreak when I comes to me. Yeah I may not do drugs or have an alcohol problem but what I currently do have going on inside, doesn't compare to the want I have for my son. To make understanding: I'm considered 'The Other' without the "M". (There's a movie that actually talks about being 'The Other' and definitely depicts something of what I'm going through.) But really, I'm not invited to parties and if I am, you can literally see the petty elephant in the room. My brother asked me why I'm so upset, so angry all the time but sadly, while I almost answered, I didn't. I didn't because when he asked, it was in a semi-joking way but it was verbalized to my parents who were in the car and that's really when I knew, I'm really not apart of this family. Regardless of being adopted, you would think as an adult you would finally find your place in that family no matter how good or bad that place is, you knew where you stood. But no happy mothers day for me, no happy veterans day for me and not even a birthday since they fly to FL immediately 5 days before my birthday because my actual grandma's birthday is the day after mine, but they booked their return flight about 6 days after my birthday so they wouldn't have to even acknowledge me. And trust me when I say, the years they do acknowledge it, again, sadly, you can hear and see the petty elephant in the room. So now that I am an adult, shouldn't I just walk away? Walk away from even my son but continue to send money for him? I moved states to follow my son when my parents moved because they didn't want him staying and living with me back in the previous state.
So if I am no one to my parents and my parents have made it so my son thinks the same, should I stop causing my son heartache from my world and give up my parental rights? Yeah, I've tried talking to my son about it, for as close as we are, but even at 13, he's still too young to understand what's best for him. 13yrs I've lived in this postpartum heartache alone and now, I feel like I need to walk away completely because I'm holding my son back mentally and emotionally just by me simply being in the picture. What am I doing if that's happening?
I need advice, any advice before I take my next steps with my own life. I need to make sure what's better for my son is better.

2023.06.03 15:40 Lonely-Load9202 Is treatment effective so far? - Type One Diabetic (Read below)
| I am a type one diabetic and have been fighting warts for one year. It started off with the (Rough guessing) plantar wart on my left foot. Ever since then, they have spread across my feet. I have undertaken two cryotherapy sessions, and on the second occasion, they all fell off. However, they swiftly returned. I visited a doctor recently and they suggested 40% salicylic acid, which I have used along with 15 minute hot baths to soften the warts. After softening, I have used a pumice stone to remove the dead skin and wart itself, then reapplying salicylic acid and bandaging the warts. I repeat this cycle every 24 hours. I have been doing this for 3 days so far. Does it look like it’s working to you guys? Also, what should I do if they start bleeding? Essentially, is it worth the risk of pumicing hard if I am a type one diabetic? (I have relatively no problems associated with my diabetes, and have good control over my sugars). Any help, feedback or information would be greatly appreciated. submitted by Lonely-Load9202 to Warts [link] [comments] |
2023.06.03 15:38 houskskskda Setting Spray takes my blush off
Exactly what the title says. I've bought the Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray because everyone had been raving about it and I do think it is good...if only it didn't take of my blush. I am using the Sheglam Liquid blush in the shade 'swipe right'. It's a lovely color and looks beautiful on me. But the moment I use the setting spray the blush just seems to melt right off but most of the time in spots! Even if I use blush again, the empty spots remain. I have no idea why this is happening. The first time I used the setting spray (I sadly don't remember if I used the sheglam blush or a different powder blush, might have been the powder blush) it worked so perfectly. I came back with all my makeup intact, no blush missing. I think the blush doesn't work with the setting spray or I am doing something wrong. Does anyone have any idea as to why this keeps happening?

In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam bestowed the almighty powers of the gods. After using these powers for vengeance, he was imprisoned, becoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Nearly 5,000 years have passed, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has gone from man to myth to legend. Now free, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern-day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone. Also known as ?????? ???? Production companies : Warner Bros. Pictures. At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so on.As Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above). “I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.) “And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybody. There's also some Easter eggs in there, too.So that's what I meant by the resetting.Maybe 'resetting' wasn't a good term.only one can claim to be the most powerful superhero .And Johnson, when gently pressed, says it's his indestructible, 5,000-year-old Kahndaqi warrior also known as Teth-Adam, that is the most powerful superhero in any universe, DC, Marvel or otherwise . "By the way, it's not hyperbole because we made the movie."And we made him this powerful. There's nothing so wrong with “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” that it should be avoided, but nothing—besides the appealing presence of Dwayne Johnson—that makes it worth rushing out to see. spectacles that have more or less taken over studio filmmaking, but it accumulates the genre's—and the business's—bad habits into a single two- hour-plus package, and only hints at the format's occasional pleasures. “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” feels like a place-filler for a movie that's remaining to be made, but, in its bare and shrugged-off sufficiency, it does one positive thing that, if nothing else, at least accounts for its success: for all the churning action and elaborately jerry-rigged plot, there's little to distract from the movie's pedestal-like display of Johnson, its real-life superhero. It's no less numbing to find material meant for children retconned for adults—and, in the process, for most of the naive delight to be leached out, and for any serious concerns to be shoehorned in and then waved away with dazzle and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” offers a moral realm that draws no lines, a personal one of simplistic stakes, a political one that suggests any interpretation, an audiovisual one that rehashes long-familiar tropes and repackages overused devices for a commercial experiment that might as well wear its import as its title. When I was in Paris in 1983, Jerry Lewis—yes, they really did love him there—had a new movie in theaters. You're Crazy, Jerry."Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse " could be retitled 'You're a Superhero, Dwayne'—it's the marketing team's PowerPoint presentation extended to feature length. In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film. “They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn't know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) FULLMOVIE ONLINE Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu? Viewers are saying that they want to view the new TV show Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service. Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Streaming on Disney Plus? Unfortunately, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is not currently available to stream on Disney Plus and it's not expected that the film will release on Disney Plus until late December at the absolute earliest. While Disney eventually releases its various studios' films on Disney Plus for subscribers to watch via its streaming platform, most major releases don't arrive on Disney Plus until at least 45-60 days after the film's theatrical release. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has finally ended the box office blues. It will be a Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse call, but based on the estimates, the year's biggest opener remains Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with its $187 million start. Nonetheless, Wakanda Forever's $180 million opening is a huge one, being the biggest ever for the month of November (beating the $158 million of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), the second biggest of the year, and the 13th biggest of all time (though it could go up or down a few slots once the actuals come out). It led an overall weekend box office of $208 million, which is the fourth biggest of the year and the biggest by a long shot of the past four months, with no other weekend since July 8 -10 even going above $133 million. This isn't the $202 million opening that we saw from Black Panther in February 2018, nor should we expect the amazing legs that were able to get that film to an astonishing $700 million. With that said, expect it to perform strongly throughout the holiday season, likely repeating the five-weekend number-one streak that the first film had, and it shouldn't have any trouble becoming the second-highest-grossing film of the year so far, beating the $411 million cume of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The audience response is strong, with the A CinemaScore falling below the first film's A+ but bouncing back from the B+'s earned by Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: Love and Thunder, which ranked among the worst for the MCU. an improvement over the recent franchise installations, with the aforementioned films coming in at 74% and 64% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes, both at the lower end for Marvel films, while Wakanda Forever's 84% is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verser to franchise norms, though not meeting the high bar set by the first Black Panther' s 96%. The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year's third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film's $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it's not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It'd be another story if audiences didn't love the film, but the positive reception suggests that Wakanda Forever will outperform the legs on this year's earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively). As for the rest of the box office, there's little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Black Panther opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Black Panther films and there's still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses, but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Wakanda Forever season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn't totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn't a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it's the biggest of any film since Thor: Love and Thunder, though Wakanda Forever will overtake it any day now. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season's most durable grasses and one of the year's few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. The domestic cume is $56.5 million Fourth place went to Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which had a negligible drop of 5% for a $3.2 million sixth weekend and $40.8 million cume., in fact ) , which isn't surprising considering it's the only family film on the market, and it's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to grossing four times it's $11.4 million opening. Still, the $72.6 million worldwide cume is soft given the $50 million budget, though a number of international markets have yet to open. Finishing up the top five is Smile, which had its biggest weekend drop yet, falling 42% for a $2.3 million seventh weekend. Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and a global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million. The one new specialty title of note comes from a filmmaker we don't typically associate with the specialty box office: Steven Spielberg. The Beard's semi-autobiographical family drama Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse opened in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles to $160k, a $40k average. The film expands to 600 theaters the day before Thanksgiving, and it has the potential to break out in a way that none of the other season's awards contenders have. We're also seeing very solid numbers from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which grossed $1.7 million this weekend for a seventh-place finish, bringing its cume to $5.8 million.Alhamdulliah

2023.06.03 15:38 Peopistyle I just tried the glitch where you get the unbreakable mastersword and somehow i ended having 2 bows all the time but i cant use it (version 1.1.1). does anyone know what tf i did so wrong that i ended up like this and not with a mastersword xD
2023.06.03 15:38 poppykayak She doesn't respect me, but she is "nice."
Man, my MIL and I have a strained relationship. She is litterally a Karen and I just don't tolerate it. I keep things civil mostly because I'm terrible at conflict and she does actually love her kids/grandkids and me I think. But she just, I dunno. I'm gonna tell it how I see it and you let me know what in the world I am supposed to do.
She's done a LOT of nice things for myself, husband, and our son. A lot of gifts, money, and butt kissing. But, it always seems so disingenuous. Like a means to an end in a likeability contest or something.
We just have nothing in common, really. She comes from a generation where gossip and hurtful behavior is "funny." I don't really participate and that seems to be her main form of trying to bond. Like, I don't care AT ALL that you think the laday across the street is such a XYZ because some stupid yard ornament or half-cooked gossip from swimming group. But then 30 seconds later, she kisses that person's ass and pretends to be best friends! It disgusts me. Either like the person or don't, don't be a 2 faced gerk.
I try to just be honest with her, but any time anyone pisses her off, she just throws tantrums like a toddler. I have seen her make multiple people cry in stores and I just don't shop with her anymore.
Anyway, she moved out to us once we moved across the country to get space. Bought a house sight unseen 2 hours away and is adamant about biweekly visits and such. It's a whole thing. Nice marital tension there.
Well, she always tells me to my face "I respect you, and your decisions as a parent" and then does completely opposite actions. Like when I was up at their house a while back finishing their deck for them, she would CONSTANTLY do shit she knew I wasn't ok with while I was busy.
We are potty training my son and would use like a bite of a cookie ir sticker as a reward. She would give him 2 whole cookies after I asked her not to. Then when he was acting crazy from the sugar rush and not eating meals, she was saying how I must not feed him well at home. Or how when I let him down from the dinner table when he was full of cookies and about to crash, she had a problem with it. Not at the time I was actively doing so, but later when I was alone she cornered me and told me that I need to respect HER rules with MY son at her house. Like wtf?!?
My son also likes to touch his ears a lot, has since he was born. We think he may have a sensory issue with them or just rubs them for comfort as kids sometimes do. Anyway, she just decided that he definately has an ear infection!! He touched his ears!! And after she asked him if his ears hurt 10 times, the 1 yes and 9 no mean definate yes. She asked if we should take him to the urgent care. I said no, he seems fine, and you didn't even think to try tylenol first. We were also inbetween insurance at the time.
She assumed I was being modest because of money reasons, and said she would pay for everything. She booked an appointment and just to shut her up, I said yes. Just so we can get it over with. We go and she cuts me off and tells the doc he's been in pain and rubbing and miserable. I tell the doc that I think he is fine and shes full of shit basically. He ooks in the ears and says they look fine, but prescribed antibiotics in case it got worse. He asked my son if his ears hurt, and he says "nope! My ears feel nice!" And rubbed them.
Just infuriating. I didn't give him the antibiotics because I will not give preventative antibiotics because my mil wants them. He didn't need them! Guess who's ears are still fine?
And just all kinds of crap like this all the time. I set a boundary, she tries to tell me that "at myyyyy house we don't do that we do this" like, no. My 3 year old is not allowed out of sight outside in town. My 3 year old is not allowed cookies instead of meals. But she will come up to me after she blatantly disrespects me to tell me she didn't.
Just drives me nuts. My husband supports me as he can, but she just ramps shit up when he's gone and after the fact just doesn't work.
God I just can't stand her.

2023.06.03 15:37 lokimochi I(M27) love my girlfriend(F25) but after years of living together, I realized that I don't want to marry her. Should I break it up?
I'm(M27) in a relationship with my girlfriend(F26) for 4 years now. Living together for 3 years since the start of the pandemic.
These past few months she's been hinting that she wants me to propose. She's not making it a secret that she wants to have babies too. I love her and truly care for her. I know she loves me too. I've met her family, she already met mine. I've always thought we were compatible though we don't share any common interests. But since sharing a home, I think I realized a lot of things. It started with little things at first. She doesn't eat the food I love(Fried chicken, seafood) and is a little picky. She doesn't like the movies that meant a lot to me growing up(Star Wars, LOTR) which is fine tbh, no biggie. What really made me sure I'm not going to marry her is I know she's not ready. Her decision making, her finances, her spending habits. She's responsible naman when it comes to her family but what little amount she saves after expenses, she sends to her family, which makes me the one who spend on the extras. She sometimes gives me the silent treatment when tinatanong ko ano gusto niya not knowing na badtrip na pala siya for something I don't know I did. Pero di naman sinasabi. I've also only noticed this very recently, but medyo mabigat yung kamay niya when it comes to things. She cracked my Laptop LCD when she borrowed it this one time, sometimes things I know were in perfect condition would suddenly appear broken dun sa mga lalagyan nila, she left a dent on the refrigerator door, she caused molds sa front loading washing machine kasi she kept using fabric conditioner on her clothes even after being warned by virtually everyone from my mom, to the technician and the internet. Parang she also stopped taking care of herself, she religiously does makeup but one time while having sex, I saw her dark and hairy armpits(I guess it's natural but not really my preference) and also started having BO so medyo naturn off na ako.
I already talked to her multiple times pero walang improvement and parang lumalala pa. Something happened just now na parang naging last straw na sa mind ko. I still care for her pero I date to marry and I know I'm not gonna be making her my wife and she won't be the mother of my children. I can't talk to my friends because right now most of my circle are friends with her na rin. If I break up I know I'm gonna be made the bad guy and lose a LOT of our common friends. I'm really bad at this and I don't want to break anyone's heart but what should I do next?
Edit: typo.

2023.06.03 15:37 woof8888 Synology Photo (DSM 7.X) Restore
I use the 3 2 1 backup rule. I have an identical synology machine offsite. My photos are about 70GB in size and the backup runs daily. I also do a Snapshot every day of the Photo folder
I now have to resort to recovery. The metadata in Synology Photos is corrupt. I know that Synology stores the metadata in a database and some of the metadata is stored in the photos themselves as metadata. I have an offsite backup and Snapshot backup I can use.
Can I perform a rollback of the Synology Photo database so that I can get my metadata back? Using Hyperbackup, there is an option to restore photos and also Synology Photos application. There's so little detail here. Does restoring the photos (files) also somehow cause the database to be restored as well? Do I need to restore the Synology application in the screen that follows in the restore process? How can I get my metadata back? (Descriptions/tags/geolocation) The files in the photo folder seem fine otherwise. What is the best option?
It seems that when a restore is performed a form of rsync is not used as the restore process for the photo folder was pathetically slow and so I aborted. Can I perform a restore from snapshot that will also bring back my metadata? I don't seem much info on this anywhere. There's so much talk about backup and little emphasis on the fine details of the restoration process, especially where metadata is involved.

2023.06.03 15:36 aleyy01 How do I make my friend realize that they could easily get rid of all their problems if they lived a better lifestyle?
I (f22) have a friend (f23) who doesn’t seem to realize that she herself is the cause of all her problems. Recently my friend has been diagnosed with diabetes type 1 which is quite a late diagnosis and came as a shock to all of us (herself included). Before her diagnosis she was struggling with losing weight but was finally successful with loosing a lot of it and reaching a weight which satisfied her. Then, after she was diagnosed with diabetes, she of course had to start insulin injections and the doctor had told her she might put on some weight because of it. She lost all of the progress she had made over the years and went from weighing about 70kg (154lbs) to 100kg (220lbs) over the span of a year.
Now the problem is that my friend likes to put the blame on everyone but herself. She does not understand how she magically gained weight even though she’s not doing anything different. Yet I’ve noticed a lot of changes within her lifestyle. I want to put a disclaimer here and say that I definitely do not have the intention of fat shaming anynone. I am just talking about a friend who is struggling with her weight gain but doesn’t realize she is contributing to said weight gain. She has stopped working out entirely and also does not go out on walks much because she complains that her legs start hurting very quickly for some reason (yeah, i wonder why. Probably because she hasn’t been on a proper walk for over a year). The type of food she eats and also the amount of food she eats has changed as well. Instead of using glucose tablets to raise her sugar levels she tends to go for sweets & chocolate, things that raise the blood sugar slowly and not something she needs in that moment. That of course has spiked her consumption of sweet foods which she doesn’t seem to be aware of. Each time I tell her, well are you eating differently? She answers with: No i don’t eat unhealthy, i eat two slices of bread or a salad most of the time or i don’t eat anything at all for some meals; which btw i also can not get her to realize that skipping meals is definitely not a way to lose weight and that it is something she shouldn’t make a habit out of. And also that eating meals which make you full, are better than choosing to eat a small salad and will also help with preventing (late night-) snacking. I feel like this is also the answer she gives to her doctors, purposefully leaving out the rather large amount of snacks she consumes in a day. And then of course she complains about the doctors not having a clue what could be wrong with her. Don’t get me wrong, there are times when doctors just say that bc. they are too lazy to get to the bottom of things or because they actually have no clue, but i also feel like she is making it worse by only telling them half of the truth.
Now to my question: How do I tell her? She is already annoyed bc all she’s ever heard from doctors and her family is the same thing i want to communicate to her: Move more and eat better. I feel like she doesn’t want advice but a magical remedy that can immediately get rid of this problem for her, and that’s asking for the impossible. I also feel like she would hate hearing that from me because my weight has been pretty stable my whole life long, so she’d probably think that I wouldn’t be able to understand her struggle even though I actually do. I’ve also struggled a lot (and still do) with eating healthy and working out or just getting out the house and moving around. I thankfully don’t struggle much with the weight aspect but I still understand how hard it is to motivate yourself to stick to a better lifestyle. The fact that she is lying about eating healthy and exercising is making me feel sad for her because at this point she is literally gaslighting herself. I’d love for her to feel happy and comfortable in her body again but I don’t know how to communicate this in a way she won’t feel attacked by.

I’ve been using a Gua Sha for about a month and feel like it is having some positive effects. I notice a lot of little crunchy spots along my jaw line, on the sides of my nose and even have one at the top of my cheekbone where it meets my eye socket. Should I be trying to break those up with the Gua Sha? Does anyone know what they are? Is it normal? And are they contributing to the tightening of muscles which in turn case face pulling or wrinkles?

[First][Prev] Memory transcription subject: Andes Savulescu-Ruiz, Human Director at the Venlil Rehabilitation and Reintegration Facility. Universal translator tech. Date [standardized human time]: Dec 3 2136
I wandered up to the boys after Lihla got a bit bored of head scritches. Parents were still wandering around, but the three of them seemed pretty comfortable engaging in parallel play off in the back of the play room.
"Hello there," I said. I didn't have to be too mindful to avoid looming over them. They seemed largely unaffected by my size, and were themselves taller than some of the venlil nurses already. I wondered idly what the Arxur cut-offs for ages were. If we'd have to separate them from the girls.
"Your savageness," one said, bowing. "You honour us with your presence."
The other two bowed as well. The girls usually just scurried away, except for Lihla's insistence on "sitting with me". How differently had the boys been treated?
"That's um, that's not necessary," I said, gesticulating vaguely, "how are you boys doing?"
They stood up straight.
"I have been using the board to make squiggling lines," one said, pointing at the drawing board. "It is relaxing."
"I have been putting similar shapes together," said the next. He pointed at a table where he had sorted different blocks. One of the smaller girls looked tempted by his collection, and the fact that his attention was currently primarily on me. Just like Lihla, she moved in slow, incremental steps, ready to run away should her approach turn sour. I managed not to laugh, and kept my attention on the boys.
"I have been assembling the sticky triangles," said a third, and showed me a pretty good-looking geodesic dome he must have gotten just by building outward with the triangle magnets in a spiral pattern.
"Ah. Very nice. I was told you went to the doctor recently," I added.
"Yes, my teeth are very good and I am strong!"
"They tested my pain resistance with a big needle, but I did not scream," said the second one, clearly bragging.
"My appointment is later," said the third. I was a little impressed by how orderly they were. Like each of them knew their number in the order of who got to talk when.
"Well, that's good to know. If you find anything uncomfortable, please tell me so we can make it better for you," I said. They tilted their heads in confusion. "I'm Director Andes. You can ask to be brought to my office and any aide or nurse should be able to guide you there."
"I'm 857–" one started, and was quickly elbowed by the one next to him. He hissed in pain, then looked back at me and shook himself. "I'm Tito."
"I'm Julio."
"I'm Marco."
"Well, it's very nice to meet you boys," I said, smiling behind my visor. It was very exciting to hear them use the names they were given at the hospital. Aside from Lihla, none of the girls seemed very interested in getting names. A few of the nurses and aides had suggested some to them, but none had really stuck.
"It's nice to meet you, Savageness," Marcus said. To my and apparently his brothers' surprise, he jutted out a paw in front of him. I chuckled and shook it. The other two emulated Marcus, and I shook their paws as well. While I did that, the girl that had been eyeing Julio's collection stole a handful of blocks and scurried off to hide.
"Well, boys, I should be getting back to work now, but like I said, if you need help in any way, just ask for me."
They all nodded quickly. I gave Larzo a wave and headed back to my office. Once there, I updated Lihla’s file, made an appointment with Karim to discuss our situation, and finished the third batch of applications from prospective parents. I wasn't going to let
him get his paws on it, especially given that they were in the lower income deciles. Venlil adoption incentives seemed to be meaningfully stronger than those of, say, Canada. In Canada, adoption often meant adoptive parents faced a wide variety of hurdles, but in Venlil Prime there were meaningful financial incentives that would more than make up for the cost of living of an average child. With special needs children, there was the added concern of accommodations. Venlil society was not well built for a neurodiverse population. Still, the financial incentive meant that I was looking for experience with children, a history of de-escalation of some sort, that sort of thing. I had no idea what Karim was looking for, but he did not strike me as a particularly charitable evaluator.
We already had verbal children with translator implants whose next step would be adoption and regular outpatient evaluations. We needed to ensure there were plenty of opportunities for them, including prospective human adoptive parents. So I erred on the side of generosity, with the knowledge that all of those whose application was accepted would still have to have interviews, and regular check-ins, to ensure nothing untoward happened to the children.
I took another walk near the end of my shift, and saw that Kanarel was being given a tour by a security officer. I gave him a little wave and he waved back. Only one claw after he'd been hired and he'd already hit the ground running! A few of the human volunteers were staring, and whispering to each other. His appearance might prove a little stressful, but I figured they'd get used to him soon enough.
I checked on the production labs, translator stock was solid and we could give the girls the implant next week. I ran through some reports, flagged a few things for later analysis, updated my own files in the shared database, pulled some files from other facilities for later reviewing. It was a very productive day, all told.
Eventually, I finished my shift and sent an email to the whole facility, first requesting that any invasive tests for the "predator" children seek my approval before going forward, and second explaining that I would be reducing my shifts to 2 or occasionally 2.5 claws. If I had actually been well-rested, I wouldn't have dismissed Varla when she tried to tell me about the boys' horns. I hadn't had a weekend in a month and a half, but that could wait. First, no more twelve-hour shifts.
Plus, if I had smaller shifts, maybe I could have days with a late start, and days with an early start. That might help fight the "sliding" schedule I had fallen into, with my 6-claw "days" of 24 hours failing to fit into a 20-hour paw.
Larzo spotted me as I was getting ready to leave.
"I would like to request the Upper Salwick game you owe me," he said, and I smiled behind the mask.
"That sounds great, actually."
We got to his place a few minutes later. His hensa was deep asleep on a bed of pillows Larzo assured me was her own making.
After a few minutes, the reason Larzo thought I was sure to win was obvious. "Upper Salwick" was some sort of weird, strategic Jenga. Each player had a set of parts, and each turn you had to play one of each type, as you built your little structure out of alien toy building blocks. Then, each player had five balls which were to be tossed at the other player's structure. Or shot through a little tube you could use as a dart gun. If both structures survived unscathed, you removed one piece and tried to knock them down with the balls again.
Larzo and I were mostly evenly matched in our ability to build something that wouldn't collapse on its own. The alien building blocks were not quite as stable as LEGO blocks, and made a very gentle, smooth sound when they hit the ground. Both structures would be elevated on a little platform made up of parts of the box re-folded (really clever design, actually). Any blocks that fell off the platform were a point in your enemy's favour.
I learned playing with Larzo that humans are much better at throwing things than the entire fucking galaxy. If you could score in paper football, you could beat almost any non-human sophont in Upper Salwick.
The standard "strategy" was to build the tallest, thinnest, most physically stable structure, on the grounds that your opponent would need a meaningful amount of luck (given the expected distances between the players and the size of the balls) in order to knock it over. People built in Upper Salwick to
avoid being knocked down. A pyramid was the most stable structure I could design with those blocks. It was also the most likely to be hit, but it survived two or three hits before the first block fell off. I played to be able to
withstand being knocked down.
Larzo built some sort of tower and I knocked it down on my second shot. He hit my pyramid five times and only one block fell down.
"I knew it. Those arboreal eyes of yours! Lulling me into a false sense of security with that miss…"
"I haven't played beer pong in ten years, cut me some slack," I said. I used my last three balls to knock the remnants of his tower off the platform. By the end of the first round, I had a pyramid minus one block, and he had literally two pieces left out of the starting twenty-five.
"Are we playing elimination or standard?" he asked as he gathered his fallen pieces.
"That should have been settled before we started, dude, I didn't know there were variations."
"Well, I assumed standard, but now I am looking for an excuse to play another game," he said with a twinkle in his eyes.
I laughed. "I take it you underestimated
how hard I would win?"
"I did not know it was possible to knock pieces off the platform
after you had already collapsed your opponent's structure."
I struggled not to laugh. “Well, what do you want to do now?”
"Perhaps we could go to one of the human growling bars," Larzo said, and I nearly spat out my water.
"...The what?" I croaked, and had to clear my throat.
"They're not too far out by train, humans regularly walk from the refugee camps to them," he continued. I stared at him.
"Larzo, what the fuck is a
growling bar?" "I thought it was a human tradition," he said, like it was the most natural thing in the world. "Humans go to these bars and growl as loudly as they can, bellowing their grief of Earth's bombing. On occasion, I have passed by and heard screeches translated as '
yesterday, all my woes appeared to be distant, now it seems that they are permanent."
The realization hit me like a smack from Rodriguez. "No way. No. That's not–Are you calling that a
growling bar?"
"Yes. What is the proper nomenclature, if not that?" he asked.

Memory transcription subject: Lieutenant Asleth, Arxur Dominion Third Fleet. Date [standardized human time]: Oct 19, 2136
When I volunteered to aid the humans after the bombing, I did not grasp the extent of their devotion to prey. I arrived at the Canadian space port near a vast, beautiful lake, and once there was taken to a hangar wherein I was made to wait.
And wait.
And
wait, until that prophet-damned squealer would stop squirming with fear. They were not so far that I could not hear, but listening only exacerbated my exhaustion at the situation.
“You’re going to be perfectly safe,” said one of the humans. I worried that they would refuse our help altogether to appease it. That the only fellow sapients the Galaxy had to offer would reject us just the same as the prey had. That they would first love creatures that hated them, before any Arxur. No matter our help, our curiosity, our desire to join forces.
“No I’m not, and I’m not going to get myself eaten for you apes!” the creature squealed. How could humans stand for such disrespect?
“If you would like to resign, we can return you to your fleet–”
“No! I–I can do this, I can do this I—I can’t do this!”
“We specifically paired you with an Arxur whose job is primarily communications,” the human said patiently. “This is not a raider, or a front-line soldier.”
“It’s still a monster!”
I groaned from my place in the room, waiting on, and on… These tree-dwelling chatterboxes wouldn’t know an ally if they saved their species from extinction.
“I’m afraid we can’t turn down Arxur help right now. They’re much stronger than humans, having one on your team means we can send more of our own elsewhere. Help more people.”
“You’re telling me humans are too weak to protect me from those monsters?!”
“Well, no, we’ll still have armed men, but when it comes to pulling people out of rubble…”
There was a curious silence, after which the prey made a proposal.
“Call the translator tech. The one who worked with the prisoners. My friend worked with him. She said he could talk them down from anything. The [one who whispers at lizards].”
That was an interesting development. I leaned a little bit towards the wall, to see if I could hear better. There was a pause during what I assumed was the human speaker’s search for a communication device.
“Hey, Andes?.. You were scheduled to land today, would you by any chance still–Perfect. Can you come over to Hangar Bay five?.. I’m sorry, I know your contract–we’ll compensate you. Look, I have a Zurulian here who won’t set foot within prowling distance of our Arxur volunteer without you here… Not my fault you're famous... Time is lives, pal. See you in a few.”
“Well?” the prey creature squeaked.
“They’ll be here in a bit. We caught them just in time.”
The next few minutes were exhausting. Waiting in silence while mere metres away the humans coddled the terrified prey. Eventually, the door opened and I awakened from the haze of boredom.
In stepped a human in one of those formal sets of armour they wore with the white lining their ribcage, black layer on top, and the noose around their throats. Behind the human was the Zurulian, cowering, as they always did.
Behind the two of them came another human, wearing armour even less protective than the noose-wearer's. He(?) was further made distinct by the other humans in military armour, much like the ones I had seen around other bases, or in their communications network. Not to mention that the soldiers all stood straight, their bodies stiff, their jaws marked, while the civilian slouched and yawned, his body on its face weaker and softer than the soldiers’.
“Alright, Asleth was it?” the one in the black pelt with the noose said. I wondered briefly if it was a measure of trust. They wore a noose around their necks so that they could be more easily strangled, and thus their good behaviour was ensured…
“Yes,” I said. “I am Lieutenant Asleth, I work communications as you told the vermin, and volunteered to assist in the rescue of survivors from the city of Royalmount.”
“Perfect,” said the human. “This here is Dr. Rusen. These guys are Philippe, Francois, and David. And the newest recruit to the team, who will be working with Dr. Rusen, is Dr. Andes Savulescu-Ruiz.”
“Still not technically–” began Andes Savulescu-Ruiz, but the man in the noose waved him off.
“Close enough. You'll be doing first aid, checking victims for brain damage, so on. Anyhow, they’ll be working with you, Asleth, and keeping the peace for good ol’ Rusen here. All of you behave, the transport should be here real soon, and then it’ll be a long day’s work.”
The noose-wearing man gave us all a nod and wandered back out the door.
I looked at the least-armoured human and tried to remember their greeting rituals. He offered a hand and I shook it with my claws, doing my best not to dig into his flesh. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Doctor Andes Savulescu-Ruiz.”
“Just Andes is fine,” he said with a smile. I realized then that although the Zurulian was the only one cowering, the other humans were tense in my presence. This ‘Just Andes’ was the only one of the whole lot who did not make much distinction between me and his fellow humans. The rest seemed reluctant to approach, ready to betray my opened claw of friendship at a moment’s notice, should I prove a threat.
The transport arrived. It was two-tiered, with a front section large enough to seat five humans, and a back section that was very much an open box with some additional safety straps.
“We had to get a pickup truck to be able to carry the croc, I hope it’s not an issue,” said the human at the front of the vehicle. I did some quick accounting of the population and concluded I would likely be isolated in the back, waiting once again.
“I’ll ride with Asleth,” Andes said, “Rusen can go in the front with you guys."
There were a few nods, and the soldiers began to pour into the vehicle. I climbed aboard the back, and Andes hopped on as well with a litheness that surprised me given his looser, pudgier form in comparison to the soldiers. Within moments, the vehicle had begun to move and Andes had attached himself to it with a safety strap. Once on our way, he rummaged around in a bag to get a helmet much like the other soldiers’.
“So comms, eh? I’ve been working with a lot of Arxur in the past few months. I’m curious, can you tell me about your writing system?”
“...Our writing system?” I echoed. Of all the questions I expected to get from a human, this was not one of them.
“Yeah, I noticed that there are a lot of spikes, and the number of vowels--or analogues, anyhow--doesn’t seem to correlate with the length of a word, so I was wondering if you use diacritic marks, or…”
I stared blankly at him. “What are diacritic marks?”
His whole face lit up and he began to explain. The Arxur have teachers–we must, for we have things that ought be taught–but I had never before seen a creature so delighted by the opportunity to teach. Teachers were, in my experience, exasperated disciplinarians who disdained their duty to those who knew less than they. Andes found it joyous to speak, and it helped me find it joyous to listen. All humans, so far as I knew, had beautifully musical voices. Still, Andes’ had a light in it that I had heard from none others in my brief time on Earth, and my less brief time investigating their communications.
I wondered idly if my irritation at spending time with fellows was truly a mark of our people, or if we were simply not used to the joys of conversation that humans could bring forth. Perhaps this is what the Arxur of old had yearned for, before the Federation made itself known to us. A chance to converse with another sapient who was so very alien, and yet so much the same.
Translators had done a great deal to undermine the details of language. I did not much care if Zurulian was a subject-object-verb language or an object-verb-subject language, even as a communications officer. After all, what I heard was simply squealing in Zurulian, and most of my job involved sorting through potential alternative translations, investigating context, and discovering when a good time to attack might be. I had greater expertise in their (comically poor) encryption practices. Their tongue itself may as well have been a mystery.
“--Look, here, write me a sentence like ‘the rock falls in the water’,” he said, pulling forth a pad and a little wooden implement with graphite in the middle. I obliged though it felt rather odd to use an extra, wooden claw to write.
He looked at it. “Now please separate the words ‘rock’, ‘falls’ and ‘water’.”
I was confused. “That is not possible.”
His eyes grew, his pupils firmly focused on me. “...What?”
“It is not possible,” I repeated, “Rock is not just this,” I pointed to one of the sections. “It is also this,” I pointed to another. “Similarly, for it to fall on the water, then the falling must be…” My brow crinkled as I struggled for the term. He stared at me in anticipation. “The falling must be infected by the water.”
“Infected?” he asked.
“Yes. The words infect one another. Perhaps if I spoke of it as though it were a plan, ‘it is the arrangement for the rock to, in the future, fall upon the water’... Then the infection is that of the arrangement, and so rock, fall, and water are all affected by
it, not by one another…”
I wrote it out in that fashion, and Andes stared in astonishment.
“Is this… Grammatical genders as tenses? Is this like the animate-inanimate distinction in Innu?” he mused, confusing me further. Were not all tongues so interwoven? “I swear, when this is all over, I need to go to Wriss. This is insane. What are those particles? How do abbreviations work? What’s the orthographic depth on this?”
I felt a need to thank the cowardly little creature for demanding Andes' presence. I realized at that moment that I had never seen a person be
interested in the Arxur. We knew ourselves, or liked to think so. The Federation knew all they wished. His curiosity flattered me in ways I could not describe. It was an insistence, in itself, that I was worth learning about.

I will have to provide thanks to a variety of people, on the grounds that the past few weeks have not been good to my brain.

2023.06.03 15:35 CNard12 Rookie Bi-Weekly Analysis #4
Rookie Performance Evaluation 4
With so many players in the MLB, some of the newest players get lost behind some of the high profile names. We are here today to evaluate every rookie who has played this year and highlight the top performances of the last two weeks and for the entire year. This week Josh Jung murdered some baseballs, Grant Anderson struck out seven in his debut out of the bullpen, and Bobby Miller shut down the Braves (and Nats).
Top Bi-Weekly Performances
American League: - Josh Jung (TEX 3B): Josh Jung continues to dominate at the plate, winning back to back AL rookie of the month awards in April and May. Josh Jung ended the month of May by slugging for 5 doubles, 1 triple and 4 home runs. Jung leads all third baseman in runs and batting average and leads all rookie batters in runs (4), hits (61), home runs (12), and RBIs (37). In his last 10 games, Jung had 9 extra base hits. Offensively, Jung is already worth 2 WAR and has only gotten better throughout the year. Jung sees the ball well, hitting 50.5% over 95 mph (top 90% in the league) and has been able to barrel 12.2% of pitches seen (top 81% in the league). Defensively Josh Jung is in the bottom half of 3rd baseman, having negative -2 defensive runs saved and -1 outs above average. Despite his below average defense, Josh Jung has been one of the best third baseman in the majors all season.
- Masataka Yoshida (BOS LF): The Japanese superstar is doing all he can to keep the Red Sox afloat. Yoshida continues his hot streak, batting .348/.412/.500 in the the last 15 days. After a somewhat slow start to the season, Yoshida has emerged as one of the two big favorites for AL rookie of the year (along with Josh Jung). Yoshida still only has 21 strikeouts and walks on the year through 48 games on the season. Yoshida will put the ball in play and will rarely kill a batting rally with a strikeout. He hardly chases the ball and is top in the league on whiff rate. Yoshida has adapted to MLB pitching very quickly and will remain a superstar for years to come.
- Logan Allen (CLE SP): The Guardians have a loaded starting pitching staff with the return of Aaron Civale and Triston McKenzie. Logan Allen, along with rookies Tanner Bibee, Hunter Gaddis, and Peyton Battenfield, has shined in the starting rotation. Allen had his best game of the season, going 7 innings against the Baltimore Orioles allowing only 3 hits, no earned runs, and striking out 10. Through 7 starts in the year. In his last three starts, Allen has only allowed 4 earned runs through 18.2 innings. Of the four rookie starting pitchers for Cleveland, Allen has pitched the most innings (39.2) and holds the lowest ERA (2.72). Allen’s next start is scheduled on June 3rd against the Minnesota Twins.
- Louie Varland (MIN SP): Varland pitched seven shutout innings against the Houston Astros. Varland has pitched back-to-back quality starts in 4 of his last five starts. The only game Varland did not get a quality start was against the Angels, where he gave up only 2 earned runs in 5 innings. Varland primarily throws a 4-seam (42%) and cutter (30%) and goes to his slider (12%) and changeup (12%) to put batters away. Varland hardly walks batters but gives up a lot of hard contact. Nonetheless Varland has pitched effectively, limiting the damage done in most games he has started. Varland's next start is projected to be on June 6th against the Tampa Bay Rays.
- Ryan Noda (OAK 1B): Ryan Noda powered a three-run home run to snap the Athletic’s 11-game losing streak. In the last 15 games, Noda has batted .256 with 3 home runs and 3 doubles on 11 hits. Noda hits 48.2% of balls 95 mph or higher and barrels 16.9% of pitches. Despite this, Noda ranks in the bottom percentile in whiff rate. Noda whiffs on 36% of fast balls, 42% in breaking balls, and 38% of offspeed pitches. Noda has struck out in 33% of his plate appearances (61 strikeout total) but simultaneously ranks in the top percentile in walks taken (35 walks total).
- Zach Neto (LAA SS): Despite all the preseason hype for Anthony Volpe and Gunnar Henderson, Zach Neto has quietly emerged as the most consistent bat for rookie AL shortstops. Only 22 years old, Neto was the first player from the 2022 MLB draft to make the majors. Defensively, Neto has been steller. In 44 games, Neto has already racked up .8 defensive war and has generated 2 more outs above average than other shortstops. In the last 15 days, Neto has 11 hits with 4 doubles and a home run. Neto had small injury scare against the Marlins with a finger contusion, but has already made it back into the starting lineup.
- Grant Anderson (TEX RP): Grant Anderson has only played in one game this season but I figured he deserved a special shoutout. In his major league debut, Anderson pitched 2 and 2/3rd innings out of the bullpen striking out 7 of the 9 batters. Anderson only gave up one hit and earned the win against the Detroit Tigers.

National League: - Bobby Miller (LAD SP): The Dodgers #2 prospect has done nothing but impress. In his first two starts on the season, Miller has posted a 1.64 ERA through 11 innings. Miller equally throws a sinker, changeup, slider, and 4-seam fastball. On his fastball, Miller averages 99 mph on his sinkers and 4-seam and sometimes will go to his curveball to strike out batters. In his debut, Miller went 5 innings and only one earned run on 4 hits against the Atlanta Braves. He followed his debut by going 6 innings, allowing only 1 earned run on four hits. Bobby Miller's next scheduled start is June 4th against the New York Yankees.
- Spencer Steer (CIN 3B): Spencer Steer uses every side of the field. In the last 15 days, Steer has batted .389/.424/.667 with 4 doubles, one triple, and three home runs. Steer currently leads NL rookies in hits (59), RBIs (T28 with Outman), and doubles (T15 with Tovar). Steer has recently returned to his 2022 self hitting 8 home runs on the season and putting the ball consistently in play. Steer has struggled greatly defensively with -8 outs above average at both first and third base and generating -.4 WAR on the season. He ranks in the bottom 1% of outs above average and, when fielding, is completely 7% of plays as expected at both first base and third base. Despite these struggles, Steer’s production at the plate has lead him to be named the National League Rookie of the month for May.
- Matt McLain (CIN SS): The Red’s #5 prospect made his major league debut after TJ Friedl was moved to the 10-day injured list . In the last 15 days, McLain has the most at bats (57), hits (T21 Steer) and runs (T11 Steer) in the National League. McLain won this week’s player of week and continues to bat .329/.390/.486 in 16 games. McLain is primarily causing damage against fastballs and breaking balls, batting over .400 on such pitches. Defensively, McLain has been stellar. In only 16 games, he has generated 2 outs above average at shortstop and has added 5% success rate at the position off 43 attempts. If McLain can continue his success at the plate, along with fellow ROY contender Spencer Steer, then they can help Cincinnati compete for a relatively week NL Central division (who knows what may happen if the Reds call up fellow shortstop Elly de la Cruz).
- Corbin Carroll (ARZ LF): Corbin Carroll continues to impress and at this point I feel like I am repeating myself. The 22 year old left-fielder has power, defense, and speed. Carroll has helped the Diamondbacks to take control (or at least tie) in the National League West. In the past 15 days, Carroll has slugged for 4 doubles and three home runs on 15 hits. He leads the national league in stolen bases and has a real shot at joining the 20 / 20 club as a rookie. On the year, Carroll’s slash line is .287/.372/.516. Of all rookies, Corbin Carroll leads in WAR, already accumulating 2.1 on offense. On the defensive side of the ball, Carrol has generated 2 outs above average and has added 2% to the expected fielding average in left field. Expect to see Carroll on these lists for the rest of the season.
- Patrick Bailey (SF C): Joey Bart was thought to be the replacement at catcher for the San Francisco after the departure of Buster Posey. With everyone’s focus on Bart, Bailey went under the radar. In 11 games, Bailey has batted .333/.350/.564 with 12 hits, of which 3 were doubles and 2 were home runs. In the minor’s. Bailey was praised for his framing abilities behind the plate. If Bailey can continue his success at the plate, San Francisco may be posed well at the catcher position for years to come.
- Will Brennan (CLE RF) - Although he is not a batter that consistently hits the ball hard, Will Brennan, in the last 15 days, has 12 hits in 12 games including 3 doubles and 1 home run.. He is batting .364/.400/.515 and has been reliable at the plate when batters are at first base. Brennan has a batting average of .318 with a runner at 1st (23 plate appearances) and batting .500 with runners at 1st and 2nd (6 plate appearances). Though Will Brennan did kill a bird on a ground-ball single last week. So… he has that going against him.

Worst Bi-Weekly Performances:
- Brice Turang (MIL 2B) - In the last 14 games, Turang is batting only .077/.122/.154. In his last seven games, Turang only has one base hit. In his last 15, Turang only has 3. Turang, on the season, has struck out in 27% of his plate appearances and barrels on only 3.6% of pitches. Turang primarily is struggling in making contact with offspeed pitches, whiffing on 40% of those seen.
- James Outman (LAD OF) - After starting the season hitting everything out of the park, Outman bat has cooled off immensely. In his last 10 games, Outman only has two singles and is batting .074/.182/.074. Outman hits the ball hard when he makes contact, but has whiffed on 40.4% of pitches seen. Outman has striked out in 35% of his at bats. Outman leads all rookies in strikeouts and 5th in the majors. Defensively, Outman has been above average in furling in the outfield. He is converting 3% more outs than estimated success rate and has created 3 outs above average in the outfield.
- Anthony Volpe (NYY SS) - Defensively, Anthony Volpe has been phenomenal at shortstop. The Yankee’s #1 prospect is only 22 years old and already has .7 defensive war. Volpe has recently struggled at the plate. He is second among rookie pitchers in strikeouts (68) and 8th in the majors. On the season, Volpe is only batting .192/.270/.355. But when Volpe does get a hit, he hits for power and brings speed on the basepaths. Volpe has 13 steals on the season and has yet to be caught stealing.
- Karl Kauffmann (COL SP) - Kauffmann made his major league debut on May 19th and has not had a good time. In three starts, Kaufman has posted an 11.37 ERA and earned 3 losses. In his first start, Kauffman went 4.1 innings against Texas and allowed 4 earned runs off seven hits. In his next start, Kaugment again went 4.1 innings against Miami ang gave up 5 earned runs on 6 hits. In his final game, he went 4.0 innings against Arizona and allowed 7 earned runs on 9 hits. In all three games combined, Kauffman only struck out 7 and walked 8. Kauffman is only averaging 90 mph on his fastball and has left too many pitches in the middle of the strike zone.
Shout out to Miles Mastrobuoni as well who is batting .053 in 9 games (19 plate appearances) and for having an ERA of 108.

My Early Rookie of the Year
American League: - Masataka Yoshida (BOS LF) - See my blurb above
- Josh Jung (TEX 3B) - See my blurb above
- Esteury Ruiz (OAK CF) - In 58 games, Ruiz is already at 28 stolen bases. ALthough Ruiz is not hitting for extreme power, his speed is turning almost half of his base hits into what is essentially a double. In most offenses that are not the Oakland Athletics, this would typically translate to more runs and have them take leads early on balls just put in play. Among qualified rookies in the American league, Ruiz ranks 3rd in batting average, T1st (with Jung) in hits, and 1st in doubles. Ruiz does rank in the bottom percentile for hard hit percentage (1%), barrel rate (5%) and walk rate (5%).
- Hunter Brown (HOU SP) - In 11 games, Hunter brown has a 3.64 ERA and recently overtaken Kodai Senga for the lead in strikeouts for rookie pitchers. Brown struggled in his last start against Minnesota, giving up 5 earned runs on 6 hits. This was after Brown had pitched back-to-back quality starts against the Oakland As (7 IP 2 ER and 6 IP 1 ER).
- Logan Allen (CLE SP) - See my blurb above
- Bryce Miller (SEA SP) - The Mariners #2 prospect dominated the league in his first five starts going at least 6 innings in each and allowing only four runs in total. Miller only had one hiccup game in which he allowed 8 earned runs in 4.2 innings against the New York Yankees. Miller's success has been largely in part in limiting walks and throwing many strikes for weak contact. Miller is top in the league in walk rate only allowing walks in 2% of at bats. Miller primarily throws his fastball 68% of the time and goes to his offspeed pitchers to put batters away. Miller is set to start on June 4th against Nathan Eovaldi of the Texas Rangers.
- Yennier Cano (BAL RP) - In his first 9 innings of the year, Cano did not allow a single base hit. Can has 30 strikeouts on the season through 30 innings of relief. In 5 save opportunities, Cano has successfully earned 4 saves with a 0.93 ERA and a WHIP of 0.59. Cano remains the secondary closer behind Felix Bautista, used primarily to maintain leads in close games and as the set-up man for the 9th inning.

National League: - Corbin Carroll (ARZ LF): See my blurb above.
- Spencer Steer (CIN 3B): See my blurb above.
- Kodai Senga (NYM SP): In his last start, Kodai Senga pitched 7 innings of 1 hit baseball against the Philadelphia Phillies. Senga ranks first among national league pitchers in strikeouts and second in innings pitched (behind Ryne Nelson). Kodai Senga strikes out 29.8% of batters but gives up lots of hard contact. Batters are still only batting .125 against his ghost fork and strikes out 59.1% of batters as a putaway pitch. This is primarily because batters have a 59.1% whiff rate on his forkball (66 PA) and his slider (7 PA). Senga is scheduled to pitch on June 4th against the Toronto Blue Jays’ Yusei Kikuchi.
- Ezquiel Tovar ( COL SS): In 55 games on the season, the Colorado shortstop has accumulated 46 base hits in 55 games. Tovar leads all NL rookies in doubles (16) and is currently slashing .241/.286/.398. Defensively, Tovar has been exceptional at shortstop accumulating 0.9 defensive war. Tovar has 6 outs above average at shortstop and has successfully converted 3% more plays than the estimated success rate.
- James Outman (LAD CF): See my blurb above.
- Francisco Alvarez (NYM C): The Mets #1 prospect has taken the league by storm. Alvarez has been above average in framing especially above the zone and has 5 blocks above average. Alvarez however has struggled in maintaining run control having -3 CS above average. At the plate, Alvarez has 6 doubles and 8 home runs on the season in 35 games with a slash line of .252/.308/.523.

The stats I used for this analysis were prior to any games on Friday May 2nd. If you want to see all the rookies I reviewed and their stats as of me writing this I have attached a (google sheet link here)[

I am primarily a Chicago Cubs fan so you will likely know more about your team than me, so I apologize if I may have overlooked or underlooked anything. Let me know if there are any memorable moments I may have missed or your own hot takes.

2023.06.03 15:35 mikedensem How do I code C# using C# in VS?
I want to generate C# classes for an Asp. Net Project programmatically. I want to take a website structure of standard html, css, js etc and convert them to razor pages by adding the appropriate markup and structure of a dot.net website.
I know what I need to change but not how to achieve this easily in VS without having to write a converter program from scratch.
I often achieve these types of tasks with find and replace using regex, but this is always an ugly hack that ends up with something not working.
Does VS have a toolset to do this?
p.s sorry this is a bit vague. I know what I want to do but it’s hard to explain.

2023.06.03 15:35 throwaway62829383 should I do that?
(this going to be long) I really need help and advice on this. I (14f) live in an abusive house. there is no other way to say this. my stepdad is a manipulative person who thinks everything that he does is right and everyone is wrong. he have anger issues that he take on me. he currently without a job which means that I take is crap 24/7, the only time that I have brake from him is when I’m in school but in two weeks I’m going on summer break so that won’t last long. my mom is no help either, she always makes excuse for him and “doesn’t have the power to deal with it.” i also have a brother which i don’t get along with. he is 21 on the spectrum but on high functioning. it’s always feels like he is more important than me. and I get that he is different but that’s sucks to get less attention and be the glass kid. I’m just so done and tired from the abuse and the feeling of being less important. also I have friends that treat me like shit so I’m really alone in this.
now I want to ask if i should do the next thing: should I go to live with my bio dad? me and my dad not very close but he is present in my life. he doesn’t know about what’s happening. i don’t sleep at his place or visit there that much but that been like this for years. I think that if I’ll talk with him he would take me in and maybe even who’d take full custody. he have several successes business (unlike my mom and stepdad that are struggling financially) so he can definitely raise me full time and it won’t be a financial problem. I just don’t know if i should do this, I’m used to live like this and afraid of how everyone who’d react because if I say that there is no turning back. also I can talk to my bio dad? I don’t know how to approach that. please give me advice if you have some. thank you for reading.

2023.06.03 15:35 Fo-One-Deuce Float FSO - what is it?
hello everyone - I got an email from Float advertising a new product they were releasing - syringes of FSO (full spectrum oil). This is everything the email said:
"A little goes a long way with Full Spectrum Oil, also known as FSO.
FSO is a potent cannabis concentrate made with a simplified extraction process that retains the plant's natural profile of terpenes, cannabinoids, flavonoids and beneficial plant lipids.
Basically, it's the power of the flower in an oil.
FSO can be taken orally, placed under the tongue, or used topically to get that full spectrum feeling where you need it most."
So my question is, what exactly is it and how would it be different than RSO? Does anyone know the extraction method? I'm an RSO fan so I'm interested, but just not clear on if this is a different produxt than RSO, and advantages/disadvantages, etc.
Thanks in advance for the help!

2023.06.03 15:35 t1gerrr What place in Alberta to move to get an oil job?
I'll be arriving in Alberta soon. Going to be looking for an entry-level oil job. Got a relevant past experience working as a gas transportation operator. Since applying online didn't really work, going to make a move first and then start looking for a job using various methods including networking and knocking on the companies' doors.
Picking between Grand Prairie, Fort Mac, Red Deer and Edmonton. What place would you recommend?
About myself - in my thirties, university dropout, physically fit, got a driver's license, don't smoke, drink and do drugs, immigrating to Canada from Ukraine.
