Four people on different devices this morning waiting in the queue to get Alanis tickets prior to 10am when they went on sale. When we finally got in there, we discovered the price-gouging “tier system”. We were all trying for general admission 19+. Only one of us out of 4 was able to get 1 tier 2 ticket in the cart (no more available to add).Tier one general completely sold out.
Then, tier 2 general and premium sold out. So went for “tier 3” (price goes up by 10 bucks each tier). No tier 3 general 19+ tickets available at that time; every time we tried to add to the cart it said something like, “not enough tickets available, currently in other people’s carts”. Forced to get tier 3 premium as it was the only option to add to the carts. I added 4, it timed out when we were trying to decide if the $271 each price tag (taxes in) was worth it. Since it was the only available option, we decided to suck it up and go for it. Went to try to add them to the cart again, and they were unavailable. Finally was able to re-add four premium. Still no tier 3 general available to add at this point.
So, we reluctantly go thru with the transaction. Then, a few minutes later my friend calls and says that she went to the site again and there were Tier 3 general 19+ available to add as many as you want.
They’re still currently available on the site. What in the fuck. So they basically released shit in such a way that wherever the queue randomly “dumped you” in the site you were only shown certain tickets, and lied to about what was actually available.
TL;DR Showpass told us tickets weren’t available when they actually were, corralling people to buy premium tickets under the guise that general was sold out.

I have a 2020 M3LR that I picked up used earlier this year. I've been using a Samsung 256GB Flash Drive since I got it for Sentry/Webcam without issue other than sluggishness when retrieving. I looked into what others are using and saw that the Samsung T5/T7 is popular. I actually have a very old T1 1TB laying around and tried to use it. The drive would format but never activate for webcam/sentry. I purchased a 1TB T7 and had the exact same result. I've tried formatting the drive at the computer first, partitioning it smaller, etc. I noticed that both my T1 and the T7 identify to the computer requiring 896 mA which is nearly 3x what the flash drive requires. This has me wondering if there are issues with this level of power requirement, possibly specific to my car.

My girlfriends family invited me on a fishing trip to a place called Chapleau Lodge later this month and I am just a bit of a loss on what to bring for lures. It sounds like we will be fishing a huge variety (northern pike, walleye, lake/brook trout, white fish, bass).
I picked up an Ugly Stick Elite combo and I have a small assorted tacklebo (mostly old stuff my grandfather and father had). Any advice would be helpful as I haven't fished in years and mostly I would fish from docks and the shoreline.

Hey, i bought this OG Xbox from eBay as is with error code 16 its a v1.6. (Not modded) The console has never been opened. When i got it, it started spitting out 2 different error codes 12 & 8, before i even opened it. That states its either an issue with the dvd drive, hdd or IDE cable, i cleaned the xbox and the dvd drive out. It did originally have issues opening the dvd drive but after a good clean its fine with opening. I Swapped the IDE cable out with one i got out of an old computer, no go. The caps on the xbox and the DVD drive appears to look fine. There is no ticking or grinding sounds coming from the HDD, just sounds like its spinning. I dont really know what to do from here.

I try to do the max donations allowed, which in the US (Red Cross) is 6 whole blood or 3 double (or power) red per year. Since 6 whole blood donations take 48 weeks, that leaves 4 weeks when I'm otherwise eligible but can't because of the annual limit. This year, with being ineligible and having to reschedule, I only had 16 days instead of 4 weeks.
So fine. I set up a platelets donation for the first day possible, which was last Thursday. Appointment was in the books for quite some time, no problems.
But when I got there they found me ineligible because I forgot to stop taking low dose aspirin for 48 hours before the donation (I had taken it that morning). Normally with double red, the aspirin isn't a problem. Apparently it is for platelets. Oops.
No(?) problem. I still have two days, I think. I reschedule the platelets for Saturday (today). I'm scheduled for whole blood in 2 weeks (June 17). But last night I got notification that it was cancelled. Called Red Cross (this was after the local center had closed) and was told that I wouldn't be eligible until Sunday, because of an annual fluid limit (the same limit that limits me to 6 whole blood donations per year). He also said I wouldn't have been eligible on Saturday if I took aspirin on Thursday because I would have to be off it for two complete days. This despite the fact that the RapidPass asks "In the last 48 hours" have I taken aspirin, not "In the last two days" (at least I think so; I could be wrong).
So... questions.
1, how does the fluid limit actually work? How is it worded? And why would I be eligible on Sunday, and not June 17 (I gave whole blood June 17, 2022). When, during the gap, can I give platelets?
2, aspirin. Is it 48 hours or 2 days? If my memory is correct and it's 48 hours, why was I told 2 days?
TL;DR: how does an annual limit work with platelet donations, and how soon after taking aspirin can I donate platelets?

The decision was made to drop the bomb on America, it was a great idea of Comrade Stalin. However, he had no idea that Truman had also built an atomic bomb and they were bringing it to drop on the USSR. Not just on the USSR, but on Moscow, to kill Comrade Stalin and the Politburo. But Truman had no way of knowing that Comrade Stalin and the Politburo had already left for a large underground bunker that was built precisely in the hope that the bastard Truman would decide to drop an atomic bomb. The plane, under the control of American pilots, named "Enola Gay," was flying directly toward the Soviet plane. It was called "Enola Gay" because there were faggots on board. That's not surprising, because America has always had many faggots, so finding suitable ones among the pilots was not a problem. It was Truman's subtle mockery of the Soviet people. Like, the Americans would fly in, drop the bomb, and Stalin and the entire Politburo would perish. The Russian people would learn about it from the newspapers the next morning and say to each other, "Did you hear? The Americans bombed Comrade Stalin and the entire Politburo!" - "What faggots!" And indeed, there were faggots there. What a humiliating incident. In short, the faggots were flying toward the Soviet plane of Kozhedub and Pokryshkin, listening to Glenn Miller, and the Soviet pilots had no idea. The flight paths of the planes intersected somewhere over Japan.
"Look, Comrade Kozhedub!" Pokryshkin said, nudging his commander with his foot. "Look... a plane!"
"What is this?" Kozhedub wondered, opening his eyes. Indeed, a large plane was flying towards them, seemingly American.
"These are Americans flying, Comrade Kozhedub," Pokryshkin reinforced his suspicions. "They're flying in our direction! And behind us is Moscow!"
"Let's ask them," Kozhedub decided and opened the window.
"Hey, guys!" he shouted in English, sticking his head out. "Where are we headed?"
"That's what we'll tell him," the Americans thought, but said aloud, "Just around. Taking a ride."
"So are we," Kozhedub lied, and to himself, he noted that there was a big bomb hanging under the tail of the American plane, probably atomic. After hiding back inside, he said to Pokryshkin, "They're bringing an atomic bomb, those faggots. Call Comrade Stalin."
Comrade Stalin sat in the underground bunker and argued with Voroshilov whether the bomb would explode or not, when a telephone operator approached and said, "It's for you, Comrade Stalin."
Stalin asked sternly, "Who is it?"
"It's Pokryshkin, Comrade Stalin!" the pilot hurriedly spoke on the phone. "The Americans are here, Comrade Stalin! Those bastards are also carrying a bomb!"
"Why did you become dumbfounded over it?" Stalin asked.
"We're flying, Comrade Stalin! We just got delayed. It doesn't look good..."
"Hmm... Well, wait a little there, I'll consult with my comrades."
Covering the phone with his hand, Stalin said, "Pokryshkin is calling. He says the Americans are also carrying a bomb, bastards."
"We'll shoot them down," Voroshilov said. "We'll send the fighter squadron immediately."
"I wish you'd shoot them all," Stalin grumbled. "Even a fool can do that."
Here's what we'll do. Get Truman on the other line for me. And he opened the line himself and said to Pokryshkin, "Keep them detained for a while, and we'll make a decision."
"Yes, Comrade Stalin!"
Pokryshkin covered the phone with his hand and said to Kozhedub, "Do whatever you want, Comrade Kozhedub, but we need to detain the American plane. Comrade Stalin will make the decision."
Kozhedub leaned out of the window again and said, "Hey, guys! What's hanging under your tail?"
"A bomb," the Americans said.
"Why is it so big?"
"Just because," the Americans replied, "no big deal. What about you?"
"We have one too," Kozhedub said.
Down below, the Japanese were gathered, wondering what was happening. They tried firing their anti-aircraft guns, but it was all in vain—the planes were too high. Emperor Hirohito called upon the kamikaze pilots, ordering them to fly and shoot down the enemy planes. But the kamikaze, as expected, took their time with the ritualistic songs, drank sake, and tied headbands... The Japanese, what can I say.
In the meantime, Stalin was connected with Truman. "Hello, Mr. Truman?" "Mr. Stalin? How are you, and how's the weather?" "Thanks to your prayers. Here's the thing—a little plane of ours was flying over Japan..." "Well, that's good for you." "But then yours was coming towards it..." "Well, we're at war with them." "But why the bomb?" "Well, we're at war with them! And besides, you have a bomb too." The Americans, those bastards, also called Truman, of course. "We're at war with them," said Stalin. "We'll drop a bomb on them now." "Then go ahead." "No, you go first!" "And you'll deceive us." "We?! Have we ever deceived anyone?!" "Oh, plenty." "And you, even more so." "And you communists, one can't trust communists." "And you bourgeois, one can't trust bourgeois either. Lenin said so. " "Your Lenin is an idiot!" He's not popular, it's very hard to make friends, he has a lazy eye and needs thick glasses, he's poor, his house is a mess, his father is often unemployed, his mother resents his father who is obviously mentally ill (Generalized Anxiety). Seems his father is also a Highly Sensitive Person.
Traumatic divorce. Dad arrested for giving mom a black eye. Dad vehemently denies. Never hit any of us before....But wait, plot-twist, mom recants, says it was an "accident." Wut. Wonder if this experience will affect his ability to trust.

Joins the Army, work is very, very hard. Overwhelmed, anxious, depressed all the time. Goes to law school and more misery. Is an army attorney for about a year before suffering a complete emotional collapse. Diagnosed Bipolar. Hospitalized. Medically retired from the army.
Rollercoaster between depression and mania. Drug abuse. 100% disabled according to VA doctors w/Bipolar, Unspecified Personality Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, Major Depression, Substance Abuse. No medicine works. Electroconvulsive therapy. Nothing helps.
Now I'm on my own and suffering every day. I can't work, can't have friends or family, no hobbies or interests. Can't leave the house. Desperately wish for a romantic relationship. Pine for it. Have to face the fact that I'm extremely damaged and not attractive to most women. Torments me every day.
I will stay alive for the sake of my family members who love me. I just learned about HSP and it explains so much about what's wrong with me. I've been called sensitive my whole life.
It's good to know there are other people like this. I never knew.
I don't believe in free will. I see myself as a male primate, programmed by natural selection to possess genes that manifest certain traits and behavior. If I was a primatologist, I would say "this male needs some kind of medicine, and is lonely and needs a mate. That will help with his depression." And it most likely would.
But I'm not an ape in a zoo. I am responsible for my own fate. And yet I am disabled, deficient, defective. I am an unreliable narrator. My own worst enemy. Unstable, highly sensitive, broken in so many ways.

Sorry I’m advance, on mobile. I just need to vent for a minute. I’ve been separated for a little over a year and divorced for about six months. For the first year of my separation, my ex lived in another city and only saw our son 3 times that year due to distance and other circumstances (we met in the middle once for a week long trip so they could see each other, and twice he visited our city for holidays). It’s not perfect, but I can at least say that we do our best to coparent well and be respectful of each others’ needs and desire to be around our kid.
Technically, I have 100% physical custody, but as long as my ex is doing well (he has a serious mental health condition that requires inpatient care at times) he sees our son most weekends for a bit and has him 2 days a week in the summer, and during the school year he’s just responsible for getting him on and off the bus on those days.
Early in the separation I lived with my mother for about 6 months, and she also has my grandmother living with her. I bought my own house at the end of last year and live 30 minutes from them now. I’ll be the first to admit it was a lot on everyone, and that it couldn’t have been easy having us show up on their doorstep, and I’m grateful, but they act like THEY are my son’s parents now, instead of my ex and I, and it’s starting to create serious problems.
Essentially, they seem to think they should also be factored into our custody schedule. They still see my son at least 1-2 times a week for family events or to meet for dinner. Yesterday, my mom called me and said “Well, I wish you’d at least let me have him one day a week, we used to see him every day, and now we don’t see him at all. Grandma (her mother, kids great grandmother) hasn’t seen him in forever!”
Guys, they saw him Monday for a Memorial Day picnic and Tuesday we met for dinner. This conversation happened on Friday and they live a half an hour away. They hadn’t seen him in two and a half days. That’s it.
My mother also got upset because my five year old “didn’t pay attention” to my grandmother.my mother and grandmother have a very problematic relationship and it’s a whole thing, but this is a constant theme. My grandmother has NO boundaries. She has tried to commission work on MY house without my consent to more suit her desires for how it should look. She bought me a bunch of clothes that she thinks will “look better on me” (she and my mother recently told me some short shorts I was wearing would make me a “laughingstock” because they didn’t like how I looked in them. They are of the opinion women who are mothers should only wear big sweatpant style shorts and sweatsuits for “modesty”). Did I mention, half of the clothes she bought me came from the men’s section at Walmart? I’m grateful for any gift, but this gift was specifically given with the intent to control me at best and insult/ hurt me at worst. She has done the clothes thing to me every year since I hit puberty. It’s a whole other thing, probably more suited to another sub than here, but just to paint a picture of who she is I thought I’d include that story here.
All this to say, this behavior bleeds over into her relationship with my child. She frequently will grab him as soon as he enters the home (like literally waiting at the front door and blocking off entry into the house, grabs his wrists and tries to kiss him and hug him even when he is screaming and literally sobbing and saying please stop). She also tries to pay him to kiss her. She will give him five dollars and then say “I gave you five dollars, now you have to kiss me.”
I find this behavior VERY PROBLEMATIC and have explained to them the lessons it could teach that would be negative. I put a stop to it each and every time but after six years, I still have not gotten any relief from their constant boundary breaking. They seem to think they have some kind of ownership of my son m, especially since the divorce, and a right to him. They don’t understand that my ex and I have a custody arrangement and that my ex will always come first. Not to mention of course that he could absolutely take me back to court to reassess a more formal arrangement if he felt I were abusing what we have now, which he would be well within his rights to do (and I would never abuse it).
On top of this, holidays are a nightmare for us now. Every time I don’t have my son for one or split it with my ex it’s a constant barrage of “how sad, WE never see him.” Or “next holiday Ex Husband doesn’t get him, we do!” Other extended family “Aunts, family friends, etc) have echoed this sentiment. Divorce is pretty rare in my family, so I guess it hasn’t been encountered much? Idk. I’m not the only one though.
THAT IS NOT HOW THIS WORKS. I HAVE A CUSTODY AGREEMENT. MY EX AND CHILD DESERVE TO SPEND HOLIDAYS TOGETHER SOMETIMES.
Because I technically have full physical custody, I think they think that I can just fuck around and not include my ex in things as desired. First and foremost, my ex will always be my sons father. he is not perfect, and you can see evidences by previous posts that we have things that we don’t agree on.But he does have rights, my son loves him, and he is a good parent. Our custody agreement is written the way it is to protect our son in the event that my ex’s mental health does not allow him to make sound decisions as a parent for a period of time. I do not believe it’s right to take advantage of this to suit mine and my family’s will for holidays and other dates that he would be able to watch our son. It’s not fair to my ex, and it’s not fair to my son.
I explain to my mom that she’s always first on the list if my ex cannot take our son one day. She has retired so her schedule is pretty open, so typically she is able to take him even on short notice. I appreciate her immensely and I know he loves my mom very much as she is a wonderful grandmother, but his great grandmother also living there makes it difficult as she is unpleasant be around and has no respect for his wishes or mine as his parent. There’s also a whole other argument to be made about whether or not they’re physically capable of watching him due to their physical limitations, but that’s a whole other thing.
I’m exhausted to the point of tears. I hate it. I have no boundaries, no life of my own. Even my divorce has somehow become about them, and this is reflective of how my entire life has gone.
Anyone else have extended family who is just so disrespectful if custody arrangements? I feel like most peoples problem is with their ex not respecting it, but here I am having to fight my own family.

In S5E8, after the Princess Margaret broadcast, the show's team are out at the bar together.
Hedy is speaking with Midge, and Gordon calls her (Hedy) to come back to his table.
We focus on Midge for a moment, and then cut to Hedy sitting down next to Gordon. She says "Did you miss me?" and he very clearly smiles and says "No." (around 30:45 into the episode)
I think that's just him teasing her (there are other people at the table), but even if it's meant to be lighthearted, I think it's a funny and quick little moment that illustrates something deeper - their marriage is a sham. As we now know, Gordon is Hedy's beard, and the assumption is that Hedy's wealth and connections aided Gordon's career.

I’d love to hear some opinions. To make it concise, TLDR I think I am a lesbian but I have a hang up, I find it easy to fantasise about men even though I am certain I would never date/sleep with one.
For a better explanation, I identified as a lesbian my entire teens, gender wacky stuff went on and sexuality went labelless. I tried dating men but would stop seeing them after two dates max because I was so uncomfortable (they were all really nice dudes, it wasn’t on them as people) and could not even bring myself to kiss them. I really gave dating men a chance and a solid go but I just can’t do it even though I really tried. So I know I’m not interested in men, I don’t want to date them, kiss them and definitely not sleep with them.
However when I fantasise, I often think of men because it’s just quick and easy. I don’t think of any emotional connection, I don’t think the guy is hot nor am I attracted to his body, it’s just the act and the role they fill I guess. I also often imagine women with a strap but often it’s just easier to not imagine the harness and all of that or the logistics. Again the idea of actually sleeping with a man is deeply uncomfortable to me and I know I will never do it in my lifetime. But it means I feel like I can’t call myself a lesbian because of it. It’s left me in an awkward position. I don’t identify with or as bisexual because I know I’m not interested in men, but I don’t know if I can call myself a lesbian because I can fantasise about men.
Honestly I just feel gross at this point about fantasising to get off at all. TMI but it’s just to stuff I know I’d never be actually into in real life in the slightest but even though mentally and emotionally I’m not into it and it makes me feel gross, it works for my body so it’s just the easiest thing to think about. Thinking about women more often feels weird because I actually care about it and it’s more real I guess? It feels less porny and more loving so it’s not as good to quickly get things done lol. Then I get distracted by logistics of it all as well.
Anyways, it’s a frustrating hang up and some opinions would be appreciated. I’m open to answering questions to provide more information/context if that would help. Sorry if this is annoying or gross tmi, I just have no where else to ask

I have been at my new agency for 4 months. I’m in communications and kinda a jack of all trades. Web, photography, design, writing messages, managing enterprise communications. That type of thing.
My interview was about 10 minutes, general behavioral type questions. Very few questions on duties. When I asked questions it sounded like I’d be doing the things I know how to do.
My first day my boss sends an email to the executives and my team introducing me as the new executive speech writer. I have never written a speech. I’ve never done anything even close. My agency is a pretty technical one, so I couldn’t even fake it — I don’t know the industry and I don’t write speeches.
I did not exaggerate on my resume. Didn’t lie in the interview (speech writing never came up).
I told my new boss right away that I don’t have the skills currently, nor do I have any desire to learn the skills , to be a speech writer. I am great at what I do and since she needs a speech writer I would look for another job so she could fill the position with the skills she needs.
She said she wants to utilize my other skills and said she would have me be the internal comms manager instead. Perfect, I would be fantastic in that role.
My performance plan has no language about speeches in it.
However, I keep getting assigned speeches. 10-40 minute word-for-word scripts. With coordinating slides (which I CAN do). Thank god for Chat GPT (my boss knows, I told her that was the only way it was going to get done)
In 4 months I have had to write 5 speeches. Let’s just say there are many tears shed.
I had lunch yesterday with a person who worked for the team 4 years ago. She said it was basically the same for her. She had to just leave. She said she reviewed the resumes and she very clearly knew she was looking for a speech writer and was shocked my boss didn’t bring it up during the hiring process.
I like the team and the culture and think I can bring great value, just not as a speech writer.
I already know the answer (and have already started applying), however, anyone ever been in this situation and found a way out of doing 75% time on work that isn’t in your performance plan? I don’t know how I will succeed on everything in my performance plan when most of my work isn’t reflected in it.

We've had LUMEN for about a year now, coming up soon on our renewal. In that year we've had THREE outages all lasting more than 24hours. The most recent one just happened Thursday - Friday.
Outage starts at 3pm, we call and open a ticket, told we will get hourly updates. No updates until 5pm when the only update is "passing off to AM shift, next update at 8am".
I call back in and tell them NO WAY can this wait until 8am. We operate 24/7 and need a tech to resolve this. Told they would dispatch a tech and they would call when on their way.
9pm rolls around, at this point I've been calling in every hour to find out what's going on. I get the update that the "tech was on site but no one was there". Which is complete BS because we have over 300 employees on site at that time of day and not once did they CALL me to say they were on the way.
Support says they will deploy another tech. I go to bed and set an alarm for every hour, every hour I call back in asking for update, no update, no update, no update.
8am rolls around and I'm finally told that a tech is on the way; I ask to be transferred to our customer manager who promises me he will "get on top of this and figure out what's going on and call me right back"
9am, 10am, 11am, same thing. Noon comes and now the update I get is that "There's conflicting reports if a tech is on site or not, we have escalated to our Executive Escalation Team". Still no call back from our customer support manager and I've been calling his direct number and leaving voicemails.
1pm, 2pm, still no idea if a tech is EVEN ON SITE or not. (I can confirm there was no tech at OUR site)
3pm I get an update that "fiber line has been cut, team is on site repairing" - 24 hours after it went down.
3:30pm I get a voicemail from our customer manager saying that he's "on top of it". I call back right away and get an out of office voicemail.
4pm, our internet is finally restored.
We are def dumping LUMEN as soon as our contract is over.

So I'm getting Legal advice on monday, all I was told is that it costs £250 per hour and they will get back to me on monday.
I have very very little in terms of money, (I run a small business as an artist and it pays for all my bills, I private rent and such, so I'm doing quite well in terms of my business but I don't have much left over) Luckily some of my longterm customers have given me some additional work so I have a little amount of money to pay for a couple sessions. I will ensure that the first thing I bring up on the call is the fees.
I just wanted to ask how likely is it that I'm able to just have a pay as you go service in terms of litigation? I don't need someone to take over the whole case for me, just advice on what to do next and how to conduct myself professionally.
I want to use my time as best I can with them. I'm worried that they will try take advantage of me because I know very little in the legal world so they will try get more money out of me, but I would like to think they're just there to help?
I've seen a couple firms that do take this, but it's not local to me, am I allowed to stop using one service then go to another? again I have no idea how any of this works.

I keep seeing the same take since the election - “oh the NDP need a new name because their current one is tainted because something something Notley-Singh-Trudeau”. This sounds fine on the surface, but there are a couple things that make it unwise:

1. Resources

Line 1.02 of the party’s constitution reads as follows:

The Party shall constitute a section of the New Democratic Party of Canada.

This was the clause that Danielle Smith and friends absolutely hated, but the federal NDP does not control policy - Notley and Singh/Horgan clashed quite a bit on O&G policies. Going it alone would lose whatever resources they get from the federal NDP and the two parties are already quite different in policy so it wouldn’t change much.

1. Reputation

After the last election in BC, their Liberal Party underwent a name change to “BC United”, a name fitting of a soccer club. No one bought it, and the same happening here in Alberta would just bring accusations of having something to hide.

1. Vote Splitting

If the NDP renamed and separated from the federal party, the federal one won’t just let there be a vacuum and would likely start an NDP 2.0. This isn’t even unprecedented, this already happened once in Quebec (though the new party legally can’t be connected to the federal one due to laws in Quebec). This would result in two left-centre parties splitting the vote.
TL;DR the NDP changing their name won’t fix anything, might actually make things worse, and would likely just hand every future election to the Conservatives, which might be the motivator for why people keep saying it.
