I made a post about a week or so ago and received some good advice (https://www.reddit.com/business/comments/13tcrrb/hiring_help_questions/). This is just a continuation of that. I have a job that is currently being worked by me and 2 part-time helpers (they are not full employees and only help when available). I was already paid for this job (and paid my helpers), how should I handle payroll for a full-timer on a job already in progress? As stated in my previous post, I am paid by the job, and I doubt I can afford to pay an hourly wage for a full-time helper. For the bulk of the day I am on site by myself trying to keep up production, and I am falling behind. Just yesterday, I had to go to the ER because I collapsed due to heat exhaustion. I need full-time help, but I have no idea how to handle this whole process.

Since today is my 14th birthday and almost the 1 year anniversary of my Reddit art career, I want to tell you guys the origin/story of how I became a Reddit artist. This might be a long read, so take as much time as possible to read. Please enjoy!
Part 1 - The Beginning The time was around September to August, and this was when my Reddit account was only a couple of months old. This was also the time I started talking to people like u/fozzie_79. At that time, we had only known each other for barely a few months. We only really talked about SMG4 stuff and things about Melony and Meggy. Eventually, I came up with an idea that will change everything. Before all of this, however, I had a severe obsession with big, poofy dresses. For example, Ariana Grande's Grammys dress, the 2015 reboot Cinderella dress, etc. For a while, I have always considered them as "quinceanera dresses" (the dresses Spanish girls wear on their 15th birthday), since I thought that was the formal/professional name for these ball gowns. So, here was the idea: what if I drew Meggy wearing a big quinceanera dress? I told Fozzie about this, and he LOVED it. So, I then drew her and posted it to churchofmeggy. (You can still find that post on the subreddit btw ;>)
Part 2 - The Early Drawings After posting my first drawing on churchofmeggy, it blew up like crazy. Everyone loved it, and that made me feel really special. So, as a result, I wanted to draw more "Quinceanera Meggy" drawings. This included her twirling, jumping, going into the pool, sitting, "paraskirting," etc. Those drawings blew up as well. (These drawings can also be found and are still up on churchofmeggy)
Part 3 - Going to SMG4 After my posts starting blowing up on churchofmeggy, I then got a suggestion from Fozzie himself. That suggestion was that I should drawing on the official SMG4 subreddit. I really wanted to do it, but I was too scared. This was the official sub, and I don't feel too ready to show off my work on SMG4. Eventually, I got the courage, and drew my first ever drawing on this subreddit: Meggy, Tari, Saiko, and Melony all wearing quinceanera dresses. I was expecting the worst to happen, but surprisingly, it got really popular. A lot of people liked it and made me feel so satisfied for what I done. From that day on, I wanted to do more. I wanted to continue drawing on SMG4.
Part 4 - The Infamous Challenge When it came to what I actually wanted to draw on the subreddit, I had to think really hard to make a creative idea for my drawings. However, I got a brilliant idea. Since at the time I wanted Luke and Kevin to notice my artwork, I made this infamous challenge idea that lasted for months: "Day _ of drawing smg4 girls in quinceanera dresses until smg4 himself makes it canon." From that day on, I have made daily drawings of the girls wearing many dresses, just hoping that Kevin oand Luke recognize my artwork.
Part 5 - The Takedown The time is around November, and I am at least a few months into my infamous challenge. Everything is going great as usual, and my popularity is going off the charts. However, one day when I posted a drawing, it then got taken down by the mods. I was confused, but I was too concerned about it. I thought I did something in the drawing that was considered inappropriate to the mods, so I decided to make my drawing more kid-friendly. Yet the same thing happened, it got taken down. I was even more puzzled, so I messaged the mods seeing what is going on. In response, I didn't get a reply back at all. I was pretty furious and I didn't know what was going on. Eventually, the mods came out with some new rules for the subreddit. These rules included things like no WIPs and that kind of thing. The big problem with this is that these new rules went against my drawings, which was why they were being taken down. So as a result, I had to stop the challenge. There was no other choice.
Part 6 - The Advent Calendar After doing some drawings that were now unrelated to the challenge, the time is now December. Again, I wanted to do something fun, but not like what happened with my previous challenge. I then talked to Fozzie for any ideas what I should do. We brainstormed for a good while until I came up with a nice idea. This idea was known as the SMG4 Fanart Advent Calendar. The idea itself was pretty simple: for every day of the 25 days of Christmas, I do a daily drawing that is both Christmas related and SMG4 related. Fozzie accepted this idea, and I was pretty happy about it. From now on, I was going to do Advent Calendar drawings until Christmas is over.
Part 6 - The Burnout This happened around halfway through the Advent Calendar, and it was extremely painful. While I was doing a drawing, I suddenly started to feel very stressed and exhausted. It then came to a point where I couldn't control myself and I was basically having a mental breakdown. So with all of that stress going through my head, I posted the incomplete drawing. I then explained in the comments section if I should take a break from drawing after doing them for over 100 days straight with no stopping. Thankfully, everyone was very concerned and caring for me, and told me to take a break. And so I did. I took my first ever break from drawing, and I have never been any happier. This break went on for over 2 weeks.
Part 7 - The Return This is now January of this year. I have returned from my long and caring break in the form of a drawing. Everyone was very kind and welcomed my return to drawing. Now I am back at work, and I can do my drawings again. However, I want this to be different from how it was before. I now want my drawings to be done at least every week or so, so I can prevent the burnout incident from happening again. And since I got many art kits this Christmas from my grandfather, I also wanted my drawings to be more higher quality than they ever were. And from then on, I went by my new rules to make sure I am better than how I was.
Part 8 - Popularity Skyrockets After posting a drawing of Meggy being Chell from Valve's Portal, I have gotten a ton of attention. The post got over 200 upvotes, the mods recognized it, everyone was posting comments, etc. After such a big skyrocket, I have realized something. After posting some sketches of Meggy and Melony wearing cute, poofy dresses, those also blew up. I realized I am now popular. I am getting the attention that I always wanted since the beginning. I have became a true Reddit artist. My miracle has came true.
Part 9 - Medi After doing many more successful drawings after my miracle, something incredible happened. After posting my drawing of Meggy wearing a poofy green dress, I have received a notification. The notification said that Medi had followed me on Reddit. Yes, you read that correctly. Medi, one of the editors on SMG4, is now following me on Reddit. That isn't the best thing though. In Medi's video explaining the criticism of SMG4, at the end of the video, he showed off my first ever drawing I had posted on SMG4. This means that my true dream came true. SMG4 "technically" notice me. All of my dreams have came true, and I have became a TRUE, true Reddit artist.
That is my story of how I became a Reddit artist. I really want to thank u/fozzie_79 for everything he has done for me, and being the true reason why I have became the person I am today. Thank you Fozzie, and thank you to every single one of you.

I've noticed this the almost 6 months I've been working on this quilt top I haven't been worrying about it being perfect like with my knitting or crochet. The most I worried about was my sister who I'm making it for not liking it because I bought the wrong color thread once that was worked out everything's been almost dreamlike.
I'm not saying I'm doing perfectly and everything is without issue I've ripped my fabric twice and had to mend it when trying to pick out stitches but even still I don't think I mind. Partly I think it is because my sister says she adores handmade things and all their mistakes but also I think it is that quilts are just better than blankets. I don't see anyone from my family turning their nose up and a handmade quilt not just because it's from me but because it's a quilt. Maybe it's me and how I view things but quilt to me have always just been so very fancy.
And due to an instant with my little brother trying to remove his own shirt text there are two holes in my comforter. My comforter maybe warmer than I actually blanket but there's nothing in the middle of my comforter it is made out of thin machine made material and well I'm glad to have it it's going to have nothing on my own handmade creation when I get there.
Even though I plan to use polyester batting I still plan to use either blizzard Fleece from jo-ann's or polar Fleece. I bet it will be fancier and warmer than anything they can buy at a store not to mention my hand quilting will make it unique. It's the labor intensity that goes into this project and it's history especially with me doing it on my hand I think I'll wow anyone no matter what so I have no pressure except for the pressure I put on myself. I do not plan to make show quilts or sell any. I plan to just make quilts and whoever likes them can have them.
My mom told me that my family moved North to work in the Mills to work with steel doing the same jobs day and day out and they became Masters of their niche job. I've been thinking about stuff like that a lot with other crafts and things as well as quilting I feel like when I find the perfect combination where everything just comes together I will become a master of that specific type.

On a summer's day in mid-July, I woke up feeling as if I were submerged in a pile of ice. Dragging myself out of my blanket, I shut the window. It was still dark and silent, yet I felt wide awake when I noticed the time was 11:30. I headed to my wardrobe and grabbed the warmest thing I could find when I noticed the trail of blood I had left behind me—an unusual scar on my left leg shaped like a rose. Hastily, I ran down the stairs to find my parents laughing over a picture on their phone. I rushed to the first aid kit when my mother noticed the trail of blood I had left behind. She hurried to help me, but I had already taken care of it. Strangely enough, she seemed to be in a good mood. My siblings excitedly ran down the stairs, ready to leave, but I was still feeling confused. My parents shooed them away and told me to get dressed. An uneasy feeling and a tug at my heart made me anticipate the worst. I dressed in my best clothes as instructed by my mum and hurried back downstairs, only to find everyone already in the car. The journey was long and tiring. The sky was still dark, and it seemed as if the trees were hiding away. My father was dressed in a suit, and my mother wore a dress I had never seen before. Everyone appeared to be as happy as possible, but the uneasy feeling in my stomach grew stronger. Upon arrival, my parents stopped somewhere nearby to tell me the news, and although it should have been exciting, my heart and mind kept my emotions concealed as a stronger sensation washed over me. I felt faint, as if a part of my body had been destroyed, and the oozing from my leg started again. I screamed in agony, which shocked everyone in the car. Strangely, my injuries were disregarded, but you could sense the rising misery as my father increased his pace. I, still unaware of what was happening, closed my eyes hoping the pain would subside. However, the closer we got to our destination, the worse it became. My dad carried me out of the car, with my mum and siblings rushing into a familiar building—it was a hospital. But why was I here? What business did I have in this place? I looked at my father when I heard the cries of a woman—the voice that resonated with my heart and shattered it into a million pieces. He put me down, and he ran towards the cries. I tried my best to follow him, but each step seemed to destroy a new part of me. Eventually, I collapsed in front of the hospital room where my sister held a baby. The baby was covered in blood, and there was a faint noise in the background, overshadowed by the cries of my loved ones. The scars on the baby were identical to the scars on my left leg, but they were all over its body.

Preface: My dad and I have a cordial but superficial relationship. We've never been super close because he is that way with everyone. I don't discuss many personal topics with him, especially anything sensitive or political. We don't live in the same state and I talk to my mom often, but not so much to him. (He's grouchy) He went into the hospital recently and I've checked in on him several times. This is the first thing I've heard from him in weeks...

Hello ------! We don't get to have real conversations very often, and with so much going on that is understandable. I did want to convey to you something that is hard to talk about. I know we are not always on the same side of things, as an example abortion rights. But that was not always the case. There was a time I was pro abortion but a phrase I say to Mom a lot is "Life is a constant state of change". How we think, our perspectives, our priorities are part of that change. Compare your self to when you were 18, and how you feel today. For me, life, all life, has become more precious when you have so little of your own left. Changes will continue for you, you may feel completely different about some things, or even stronger about others but changes are coming. After all, "Life is a constant state of change". I Love you and am very proud of you. You are intelligent and independent and a loving Mother. No difference of any opinion will ever change that!

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean were still working as an insurance clerk and police officer when they competed at the 1980 Olympics. The pair, who expressed great admiration for 1980 Olympic bronze medalists Moiseeva/Minenkov, were able to finish in 5th. With a close 4th place finish at Worlds, Torvill/Dean decided to quit their day jobs and dedicate their lives to skating in the years leading up to the Olympics in Sarajevo.
Betty Callaway had already been making her mark as a coach before coaching Regoczy/Sallay to a World title. Her choreography was innovative for the time, with the pauses while changing music incorporated into the choreography of the dance rather than putting unnatural pauses throughout the program. Her work with Regoczy/Sallay made her the perfect backbone to Torvill/Dean’s sport-altering programs to come.
One thing to note about Torvill/Dean that many seem to overlook is that, while glimpses of their future innovation shone through on the ice in 1980 and 1981, their programs were not exactly eye-opening in terms of composition or choreography. When Torvill/Dean skated their way to a World title in 1981, their style was a cross between Regoczy/Sallay’s and Moiseeva/Minenkov’s in a lot of ways. Their movements were sharp but with a hint of gentleness. Their music changed throughout their routine, much alike the style of the Russians before them. But one thing that Torvill/Dean became immediately known for was their speed and coverage on the ice. They were able to race across the ice to a degree that was eye-catching and impressive. Their 1981 win was the first for Britain in 12 years.
Underneath Torvill/Dean, Natalia Bestemianova/Andrei Bukin, coached by Tatiana Tarasova, earned bronze with a similar style as the Soviets before them. Tarasova choreography featured repeated movements across the length of the ice, akin to older Moiseeva/Minenkov programs. Bestemianova/Bukin spent much of their 1981 program repeating movements that left Bestemianova draped across Bukin or lifted in the air, coupled with fast, repeating footwork. The fiercely dramatic skaters were set to stay in the sport for years to come.
Torvill/Dean’s idols Moiseeva/Minenkov, coached by Natalia Dubova for their final season, competed in their last 2 seasons in 1981 and 1982, earning a silver and bronze before retiring to start their family. It seems only fitting for Torvill/Dean’s greatest idols to see the product of their inspiration when Torvill/Dean changed ice dance forever in the 1982 season.
The 1982 season saw the introduction of the Original Set Pattern (OSP) dance (or at the very least, the first recorded instance of its competition), which boils down to a dance where the skaters and their coach would create a compulsory-like dance set to a specific kind of music. For the inaugural season, blues was the genre of choice. In their first of many innovative decisions, Torvill/Dean decided to skate to Summertime, which had the slowest allowed tempo, making it an incredibly difficult song to skate to. Of course, they accomplished this with flying colors, setting the standard for all OSPs to follow. But what was truly innovative was their FD of the same year.
In a year where Bestemianova/Bukin skated to several fast, dynamic pieces of music (and…a dramatic version of “What Is The Youth”?) and Moiseeva/Minenkov appeared to skate in a style more similar to the late 1970s than anything else with a medley of songs that included Bolero (no, really), the idea of a program being cohesive and featuring similar music was almost foreign. The closest program to come to any sort of cohesive idea was when Americans Judy Blumberg and Michael Seibert dressed in costumes inspired by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. But ultimately, their FD still featured several songs stitched together with no real similarity between them, other than all coming from the 1930s, which I suppose was a minor innovation in comparison to the other medalists.
When Torvill/Dean debuted their 1982 FD, it changed ice dance forever. Instead of using several pieces of music to meet the changing tempo requirements, Torvill/Dean chose a single song, the Overture for the musical “Mack and Mabel,” to fulfill the requirement, completely unheard of. To complement the music, Torvill/Dean decided to choreograph a routine with their coach Betty Callaway that called to mind dancing you’d find on the West End. The FD was universally beloved by judges, earning 8 6.0s in performance at Europeans and 5 6.0s at Worlds that year (out of the 7 judges). The FD completely changed the perception of what a program could do on the ice and inspired the rest of the field to up their ability to portray different types of dances on ice while just focusing on one type. It was a breakthrough moment in ice dance and one we take sorely for granted in an age where cohesive programs are the norm.
Torvill/Dean continued their dominance in 1983, taking the World title in an easy enough manner with their Rock n’ Roll OSP and FD based on an American musical named Barnum, a musical about a traveling circus troupe (I’m not making this up I swear). Torvill/Dean decided that their FD should include more difficult lifts to accurately call to mind the circus. Christopher Dean is often cited as the mastermind behind the choreography for the pair and his inspired view of what ice dance choreography could be is on full display for this one, as the idea of portraying a musical or ballet on ice had simply never been done before.
Bestemianova/Bukin meanwhile were performing choreography that featured quick turns and repetition, choreographed entirely by Tarasova. Their programs still featured numerous music switches but were less dramatic in tone switches as was normal prior to the previous year. Blumberg/Seibert, meanwhile, earned their first bronze medal by repeating their FD from the previous year.
The 1984 Olympics are known, by and large, as Torvill/Dean’s crowning moment in ice dance, a culmination of their previous 4 years changing the sport. As it should be. But on a grander scale, this was the first Olympics to feature all of the top four dancers skating to 1 song or idea each in the FD. Again, taken for granted now, but huge for the time and reinforced the idea that ice dance could survive and flourish while focusing more intently on conveying a theme and feeling than in just recreating the dance styles of several different types of music.
The most iconic ice dance routine, of course, is Torvill/Dean’s Bolero. But their OSP of the same year is equally as amazing, with Torvill/Dean and Callaway deciding that, instead of recreating the ballroom dance of the paso doble, they would instead recreate the origins of the dance itself: bull taming. Jayne acted as a cape to Chris’s matador, making it one of the most easily recognizable ice dance routines today. And then Bolero. In a time when FDs had to be a strict 4 minutes long, Torvill/Dean refused to cut a single moment of Bolero. And so they bent the rules, realizing that the timer would only start when their blades hit the ice. For the first 20 seconds or so of the program, Jayne and Chris knelt on the ice instead of skating, effectively getting the full music in. It was innovative, it was bonkers, it was an outright refusal to take no for an answer. And it was brilliant. Torvill/Dean earned straight 6.0s in performance en route to their Olympic title.
Of course, an Olympic ice dance competition would simply not be the same without controversy. Bestemianova/Bukin performed a polka/folk FD (with…costumes to match) to earn the silver medal but the FD had a mistake early. However, Bestemianova/Bukin’s technical prowess in the compulsories (for 2 were performed in competition now) and OSP allowed them to hang on.
The true controversy was for the bronze, when the Natalia Dubova-coached team of Marina Klimova/Sergei Ponomarenko surpassed Blumberg/Seibert for the bronze medal at the young ages of 17 and 23 respectively. Klimova/Ponomarenko were in 4th going into their free dance and floated across the ice to classical music to earn their first Olympic medal, a differing Soviet style on display with their longer edges and more balletic movements. But Blumberg/Seibert, skating to Scheherazade, were decidedly miffed. In a sport that was already earning a reputation for “waiting your turn,” they had waited and were instead supplanted by a young team making their debut due to an Italian judge deciding that their music was not appropriate for ice dance and forcing a tiebreaker after giving a low score in the free. Beating Klimova/Ponomarenko at Worlds the next month didn’t improve their mood.
It was also a judge statement, on wanting the balletic to counter the more theatrical nature of Torvill/Dean and Bestemianova/Bukin. Already the Soviets were working their political magic through Natalia Dubova. And truly, what better way to segue into the next 15 years of Soviet/Russian domination than that?

I had a good friend, she called me her sister - for years. After she moved out of state we did a great job of maintaining the friendship via phone.
But I noticed our calls became like therapy sessions, where I'd ask her lots of questions but she wouldn't ask me much about myself. But when I did talk about myself she would talk over me, finish my sentences, make incorrect assumptions.
One of the last times we spoke, I said "Will you let me finish?" Again, she interrupted. Then I said "we just spoke half an hour about your family. Can I get a word in edgewise? Can you even hear me talking?" Her response was "well you ask a lot of questions" and "I heard every word you said." In which case, if you hear me talking, why are you talking over me. I didn't think to say that at the time. i was so angry, I said I had to go.
The she reached out via text a few weeks later like nothing ever happened, no acknowledgement of this behavior, no apology, and like nothing ever happened and sent a longtext about what was going on in her life.
I wrote back something factual and kept it brief and we haven't spoken since then.
I am starting to wonder if this behavior is part of the reason why she is estranged from her family. BUt ultimately the reason doesn't matter I suppose.
I am not a soft spoken person but I notice a few people talk over me, interrupt me, and I really doubt I am the only person they do this to. For me it is a huge turn off because I ask quetions and care about them. I am starting to realize that I need to learn who to spot this behavior earlier and not engage with people like this to begin with. And if I see x minutes are going by without any mentoin of how I am doing (not half an hour!) I need to learn to disengage faster, test people more.
With this particular person, she wasn't this way when we knew each other in person years ago.

I currently work as a hospital chaplain 5 days a week plus taking an “on call” night one day a week, which can sometimes be silent and sometimes I’m out the whole night..and then anywhere in between.
I’ve been doing this job for about four months and recently, someone’s 32hr a week full time position opened up. I don’t want to make less money, really, but I also think I would enjoy my life more and have time for other hobbies and exercise that I love. A big one is surfing and playing music.
My mama get is extremely nice and understanding and I think I could bring this up to him to talk about changing my contract. What does this sun think? Is it a bad move to go down to 32hrs a week?

When I should do a certain assignment for my job, but at the same time I can't because of unavoidable circumstances (not my fault). How can I calm it? It's just raw fear. I cannot reason with it, the part wants to avoid being blamed, because it's not its fault, but it can't escape it.

Hi, I'm about to start a small personal project, and feel like it requires some deeper research as I'm clueless to the best way to approach it or stuff to keep in mind or plan beforehand that would be handy down the line. The task would be a character whos body can change, become smaller or bigger, as well as change the perceived age. The characters hair is also able to morph between lengths, on top of which it can be moved and articulated as if it were a moving body part like an arm.
This would need to be possible in animations and I'm wondering what the best way would be to approach such a character and its quirks to make the production more streamlined and the animation/post more compatible with the produced model.
My personal thoughts were initially whether to make it in one model that is build to be able to be deformed as needed, but that poses many rigging questions especially for the hair, or to make a couple separate ones that each represent one extremity of the body morphing, which I'm clueless on how to transition between for the animations. But as I'm still a beginner I'm most probably unaware of the many tricks and solutions one could use for this type of problem. This is why I have turned to the community in hopes of learning from the experience of others and better plan out the production phase of this project.

Over the years, we have generally shied away from using the subreddit as a bully pulpit except for in extreme cases such as the fight for Net Neutrality. Unfortunately, time is of the essence and this is likely to affect the majority of our community here let alone across the entirety of reddit.

What's happening?

API Pricing Changes
Reddit recently announced major pricing changes to their API, which is the software interface that all major 3rd party applications and bots rely upon to function. These pricing changes are so extreme that all major apps will be forced to cease operating as they cannot bear the costs. As an example, the developer of Apollo revealed they would be forced to pay reddit upwards of $20 million USD/year just to continue operating under the new pricing scheme.
The consensus from the developers behind these apps is that reddit is trying to price them out of existence in order to force users to switch to the official reddit mobile app. Not only will they be forced to pay ridiculous sums (which they cannot cover) to maintain access to the API, changes to the ToS also prohibit these apps from using ad revenue to offset the new costs.

NSFW & Mature Content
In addition to restricting API access behind a ludicrous pricing scheme, reddit is also planning on severely restricting 3rd party applications' access to NSFW/mature content. This will not only make the job of moderating NSFW communities significantly harder for humans, but also largely cripple 3rd party moderation bots that rely on being able to view NSFW content across multiple subreddits. Without the functions these bots provide, reddit is creating massive vulnerabilities in the areas of anti-spam and user safety.
As an example, some communities which focus on serving underage users may use 3rd party bots to automatically detect and remove accounts with a history of posting NSFW/mature content. Additionally there are other 3rd party bots that use comment history to proactively seek out and remove NSFW spam or even help detect and remove possible revenge porn or illegal underage content.

How will this affect me?

Any users who rely on 3rd party applications (like those above) to browse reddit will find that the apps will cease to function after July 1st, when the pricing change goes into effect.
In addition, NSFW communities will likely see a large uptick in spam and potentially illegal/harmful content. It's possible that many of these communities will be forced to close if the human moderators responsible for them feel they can no longer keep their community safe without the proper tools these bots and 3rd party apps provide. Even subreddits like ours have to deal with a steady influx of NSFW spam, so these changes could have ramifications for the entire site.
While it has never been explicitly stated by reddit, there is also a large concern that this move to consolidate mobile users to the official app could be a sign that they are planning to fully deprecate the old version of their desktop site (old.reddit.com) in order to consolidate users on the redesign as well.

What can we do to stop this?

Moderators from hundreds of communities across reddit have drafted and signed an open letter to reddit, asking them to reconsider the pricing scheme and to recognize the role that 3rd party apps have played in reddit's ongoing success. You can read the open letter here:

Should the open letter fall on deaf ears, many communities are also preparing subreddit blackouts in protest. This type of protest has been used to great effect in the past, however it is also highly disruptive to the communities participating.
As the mod team for this great community ^btw, our primary goal is to make sure we are serving you all to the best of our ability. We feel strongly that this is a worthy cause and that the outcome will have a massive effect on the future viability and success of the entire platform. We want to join the 500+ communities that have already committed to this action and demonstrate that our community answers the call in times of need.
However, we won't do it without you. The decision to blackout the subreddit should not be made by the mod team alone. Please share your thoughts, ask your questions, and let us know if you feel this is something we should be a part of. The mod team will do our best to answer any questions we can and we promise that any action we take (or don't) will be based on the will of our star community.

I've got a couple of my personal phones that I used for years back then (1 x Nokia 2100 and 1 x SE k775) and have a significant amount of personal data e.g. mainly a lot of texts, phone numbers, etc.
I wasnt able to charge them so took it to a repairer who said he could find chargers for them, and as their batteries are damaged, he would need to repair the batteries or any phone connections to get them back to life. However, he needs me to leave the phones with him for 2-3 days as he finds parts and needs time to work on them.
However, I'm not okay with him potentially having access to a lot of personal texts some of which possibly have intimate information which I am not comfortable in some shop guy being able to see.
I need to get these fixed but is there a way that I can use to prevent this information leakage so he cannot access it etc? I know its going to be difficult but Im trying to ask in case theres anything possible?

I finally understood why I was suffering from dpdr, this happened when my therapist confronted me with the following. He mentioned that everything I was trying to do to, cold showers, no coffee, no alcohol, sports, vegetarian diet, no porn etc etc, are all external factors, but that dpdr is a symptom of trauma - which is not only a memory of the brain, but also a memory of the body (!).
A bad trip from drugs (a traumatic experience by itself) often preceded by trauma such as loss, abusive childhood, being bullied, divorced parents, maybe all of it, or some of it, it is stored in our bodies. Even if you are not or barely thinking about it anymore, the event lives on in the body in the form of stress, grief, pain.
And trauma comes in all kinds of ways, it doesn’t have to be postwar ptsd - a car crash, an immense fight between your parents at a young age, maybe losing your job or a dramatic breakup. Whether you felt unsafe, hurt, unloved, unwanted, frightened, something happened inside your body, it caused a wound. Most of us don’t learn how to cope with our inner wounds, so subconsciously we suppress the pain as life goes on and we have to perform. But our brain keeps fighting against the event(s) that keeps on living in our bodies.
Suppressing leads to split off feelings, dpdr (!) as it’s impossible to selectively filter positive and negative feelings, you either feel everything or suppress everything.
Dpdr is a symptom, which has it’s functions for survival (frightening, yes), but you can overcome through help.
Essentially we need help from a therapist. Through mine I learned how to dig into my nervous system, and activate unresolved trauma - the result, lots of crying, shaking, urges to yell and intense sensations, but then finally relief.
And it makes so much sense. If a nerve is squeezed in your vertebra, you can accept as much as you can but only once your physio cracks your back, you may be able to find relief.
In a way your brain is stuck in a similar way. It is registerring stress, unresolved grief and anxiety that’s stored in your body. In order to survive it finds a way to shut it down, but it shuts everything down, your feelings, sensations, all kinds of stimuli.
But once your to start to heal, flush the stress, cry and process the pain, your brain will notice and will get back in to relaxed modes.
What kind of therapy helps? For me therapy that focussed on the somatic side of things. Eft, emdr, psychotherapy - techniques that dig up deeply stored anxiety and stress (even if you can’t feel them at this very moment, belief me, it’s still there).
It is KEY to embrace everything that needs to be seen and felt. Cry out loud, yell if needed, talk about it. I’ve felt so blank and fake that I never thought to find a way out. Focus on your body, move you awareness through your body, embrace your frustrations, and observe your thoughts instead of identifying with them all the time.

I’m 39 weeks today and was diagnosed with viral pink eye two days ago because WHY NOT. Do my husband or my 6yr old have it? No of course not. 😒😒😒 just the massively pregnant me. How did I get this you ask? WHO KNOWS ! After a massively frustrating urgent care trip and a very dismissive doctor who pretty much said I could have gotten it “anywhere” I’m just left feeling frustrated and so sick of everything. My entire pregnancy I’ve been sick like 6 times, including this and the flu. Oh and I had “morning” sickness for 22 weeks, and still get sick at the smell of Costco pizza which every single birthday party I’ve been dragged to by my 6yr old seems to serve.
Thank you for listening to my rant. 😇 I’ve just had a very frustrating pregnancy this time around and it’s making me insane. The actual pregnancy itself has been very low key and easy (other than the morning sickness) compared to my first who was high risk and needed all the things (failed twin pregnancy) but it feels like this is a never ending loop and I am SO READY to be done. Fingers crossed that my labors are at least similar since my first was only 4hrs and 20mins of pushing with no epidural, but who knows what’s in store at this point.

I switched careers about a year and half ago from social work to welding/fabrication so I can actually make some money. I was working with thin gauge sheet metal for about a year. I recently got a job fabricating aftermarket exhaust systems and I love it. I don’t have much mechanical experience when it comes to cars except basics; changing my tires, oil, brake pads.
I would love to make a career on the fabrication side of things like body work, retrofitting, custom parts. I’m not really sure what all I need to learn, what kind of experience I need to get there, or what to look for in terms of employment. Any advice or tips to help me chart a path would be greatly appreciated!

So the community is separated on whether or not The peters are acting out of character by not helping Miles, going as far as capturing him. People are saying it’s weird that they all try to stop Miles from saving his dad AND the multiverse. Imo it’s in-character for them to go against Miles.
Now let’s take Peter B Parker as an example. Him betraying Miles felt very off at first but thinking about it more.. it makes sense. He finally has a good life thanks to Miles so betraying him was a big twist. This works because he saw what happened if the “canon” breaks.
All of the spiders in the clubhouse had accepted that they can’t save everyone but Miles hasn’t. Which is why he wasn’t invited unlike Gwen. Even the spideys we saw were very awkward during Miles getting sent home. Ofc there are spideys who would disagree, but ofc they aren’t here.
And last controversy: the logic of the canon breaking and Miguel calling Miles the original canon break. He’s wrong there. Earth-42 is still a thing and so is Miles’ universe. My guess is that this will be explained to Miguel in BTSV. This is all part of the canon and Mig’s machine isn’t all trustworthy…
Oh and ofc Peter B and others have now betrayed Miguel! Ty for your time :)
