My crush has been sending me a lot of mixed signals after he rejected me. For some backstory, a little over a year ago, I gave my hallway crush my number. I was a sophomore (16) and he was a senior (17). A few months later, I confessed to him, but he rejected me. According to him, I “seemed like a very lovely person”, but he just didn’t know me well enough to date me. Plus, he had just graduated high school a few weeks before and was trying to get his life together. I didn’t let the rejection bother me and we continued being friends, but I feel like we’ve grown much closer than we were a year ago. I really think he might like me now.

Also, I haven’t seen him in person since he graduated last year. Should I ask him to hang out with me? Could his feelings have changed since he rejected me?
And I know what you’re about to comment: “The only way to know is to ask”. I mean, that’s true, but getting rejected twice by the same guy would be super embarrassing. I’m waiting on a confession from him. The only way I would confess to him again is if somehow I got definite proof he likes me.

Alien force is so bad and i'm frustrated, I just finished rewatching the original series and now moved on to Alien forced so far watched 5 episodes. They fucked everthing up.
Gwen - what have they done to you? they got rid of her personality and vigour, now she's just a generic boring insert female character who is the subject of love interests. Getting carried out of the fight on the ship by Kevin was embarrassing old Gwen would never let others dictate her actions. Speaking of Kevin, Gwen saying she likes Kevin and wants him to ask her out? Wtf am I listening to? the criminal and murderer that she met again for five minutes, is the guy she wants to date? could this get any dumber. This is not Gwen.
Also there's no more spell or spellbook, they've taken all the fun out of her magic to replace with generic purple energy, also retconing her to be an alien which is just nonsense. I hate her outfit aswell just a bland schoolgirl outfit with a skirt that wouldn't be comfortable or practical for her to jump around kicking people like she did before.
Ben - character is as i'd want, except his over obsession with Max, however they've taken ALL the fun out of the omnitrix. There's no more timing out, he ethier has control over it or it just times out at the right moment everytime, there's no drama any more, no tension.. he knows the name of the aliens BEFORE he turns into them and how to use their powers . This is lazy shit writing they've taken away the fun of learning the new aliens.
Kevin- gets over his hatred of Ben/ being locked away in a negative zone way too quickly.. likes Gwen immediately.. because? plot. Kevin wasn't a generic edgy bad boy he was a murdering psychopath and this progression makes zero sense. Also retconning more powers he absorbs ENERGY not matter.
PLOT - so far I have some issues, plumper badges retcon? why do they look like the omnitrix which the plumbers didn't know existed? not just a retcon it's a plot hole, apparently the plumbers liked to fuck aliens and now all their kids are half aliens with powers this is the dumbest part of the plot. The idea fucking aliens gives u powers, the fact they can even have kids with aliens genetically, the fact the plumbers wouldn't vermently forbid this.. plumbers kids are just normal clueless humans who have no clue what there parents did, this part of the plot is beyond moronic.

I will continue to hate watch this show but god I miss the original.. good thing I was a kid when this was out and didn't care about or notice any of this.

I come up with plots to episodes all the time in my head but if i could write an episode the main plot would be Big Bob gets sick/hurt (non life threatening) and Bob has to go take care of him in the hospital he takes Gene along for support. They would argue at first with Bob trying to do his best to care for his dad and Big Bob being stubborn. Then would have a heart to heart moment maybe talking about how Bob is scared and dosent want to lose his dad and they talk about how the loss of Lily effected Big Bob and how he raised Bob and how that translates to how Bob raises his only son, Gene. I think this could be a really nice cats in the cradle moment between the three of them. The sub plot would be Teddy has to attend a big event with Kathleen like a wedding and Linda, Tina, and Louise talk him to the mall to find an outfit. The girls would all have their own idea on how Teddy should dress. Tina would want something like how they dress in Bridgerton outdated but romantic seaming, Linda would think he should go in like white linen suit because she thinks its swave and elegant and louise would want something like James Bond. The wackyness that would playout would balance well with the semi morbid/serious tone of the main plot.

My school is starting an esports club, and I am in charge of starting it up. I am wondering what sort of games we should play and have on offer. We recently (around 7 months ago) finished up making a makerspace with 6 pcs, all with rtx 3070ti, 16gb ram, i5 12400f, 2.7k monitors; this makes us able to start this club.
The club is generally gaming, but will have a small esports team consisting of regular gamers and there will be some sort of trials to see who gets into the teams who compete but can still join trainings.
My problem is choosing the type of game to compete in. We are unsure because of the amount of options, and we have to run it past senior staff (the head of computer science/makerspace will convince them of the game choices). We are not able to do Valorant just yet, or any games that focus mainly on guns (ik, annoying). We currently are thinking of Overwatch (1&2). The reason for not starting otu with shooting stuff, is for the club to not promote violence, and maybe later on once the club is more established, we will create a team for Valorant (as nearly all of us want to do that).
Any ideas for esports games of any kind or just general games for people to play in the club?

2023.05.30 05:00 Ok_Original7911 Blade in the Dark - Bizarre Behavior

So I'm trying to get Blade in the Dark to complete and Diplomatic Immunity to start. Suffice it to say, I've been trying everything - saving and reloading, ensuring I have the shout, read the note, finished the quest to return the horn, using various console commands, etc. Suffice it to say, nothing is working. The "Delphine doesn't talk after you eat the dragon's soul" bug hits, the quest is completed by setstage MQ106 200,
Now it turns out that when I use "resetquest MQ106", it completes the quest and gives me the key. Daphne still doesn't more forward with the quest, I still don't get Diplomatic Immunity, and can't get to start with console commands. According to the console, the quest isn't Enabled.
I'm a bit baffled why the game is behaving this way. I know the quest has been bugged pretty much since the SE was released, and I'm probably SOL, but if anyone has any ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

2023.05.30 04:58 spicycrybaby "Unbalanced" JTE efforts (a rant/advice request)

I (27F, ALT) am so annoyed at one of my JTEs... Let's call him JTE1. JTE1 shares duty of the 1年 (SHS) with JTE2. JTE2 is super organized and on top of everything : he takes a lot of time to make sure his groups understand the material and goes beyond the basic info given in the textbook. His classes are always very engaging and the kids have fun, and he always communicates clearly with me about what we'll be doing and how he needs me to contribute.
Now, JTE1 is a very busy man. He runs a bunch of clubs and administrative stuff, he's not often at his desk. I still manage to go see him before every class and ask him what we'll do. The answer is usually something along the lines of "I'll explain the grammar and you assist me." Sounds good! However, he then shows up to class and obviously has no idea what he's doing. He knows the grammar per se, but seems to be looking at the textbook for the very first time. He keeps looking at me like "what's next??" or doesn't seem to understand what needs to be done in the textbook, which is all in Japanese so I can't help much either. He sits down, clicks through the provided powerpoint and blandly reads along. Sometimes, he'll also just randomly announce to the class that I'm going to have them play a review game now, without asking me first, and I'm stuck having to improvise a 45-minute game that'll magically help them review a very specific grammar point. I usually try to stay "ready for anything" for last minute scenarios, but it's always a little jarring/embarassing when it happens IN CLASS and is for full periods.
Now that exams are coming up, it is very clear that students from JTE1's groups are completely lost. They don't really understand the grammar all that well, they simply memorized the example phrases. Now, you might tell me that that's just how English education is in Japan, but in this case JTE2's classes are doing so great and really understand. It feels really unfair because of course they'll all get the same exam.
I am hoping that JTE2 (to whom I've mentioned this issue) takes it upon himself to talk to JTE1 and try to synchronize efforts. JTE2 is my age, and a good friend, whereas JTE1 is much older and conservative... I'm a little afraid to vex him. What can I do/suggest to help make second term a little less unbalanced for students?
TLDR ; one JTE sucks, the other one's awesome, and it feels unfair to the students.

yet I am struggling to get any decent academy players. I don't think I have ever gotten a new "youth intake report" (or whatever its called) rating above a "D". This has been happening for pretty much the entirety of the save but I am just now starting to care due to the HGC requirements for UCL.

2023.05.30 04:28 NailOne5446 I am M/25 long distance 5 months F/24 are these justifiable things to want to discuss? Should I keep pushing for her to stay?

I’m having some issues internally with my long distance partner. Hoping someone can shed some light and/or some comfort, even some direction.
I figured it’d be easier to just list the issues initially before giving a story for an easier read. Also it will be a brief summary.
• Goes to the club
• When having an issue doesn’t tell me what it is just states she’s in a bad mood.
Now I understand some people may see these points as nothing more then me being insecure which I’m not opposed to that being the root of my issues but I don’t wanna single it down to it just being that.
-Goes to the club-
On the surface clubbing isn’t so much the issue as to what comes with it. When she goes out she normally doesn’t text me but if I send her a msg she will read it and not reply, if she does it’s normally short I.e. (haha) (that’s funny) Also due to her drinking she spends the next morning not talking with me due to the hangover and I won’t hear from her for awhile. Basically I won’t hear from her for two days.
Now this may be… weird or to much but I’ve thought myself into some holes of curiosity and looked at her location and she was where she said she’d be or whatever so I don’t believe it’s to just get away from me plus she does the whole texting me first or calling me first thing. There’s some level of connection from her side.

This is probably what sucks the most for me and I’m more concerned about. I care for her, as anyone does for their partner, so I wanna be there for her regardless of what it is. This has happened on 3 separate occasions and I still have no idea of what the cause were for any, 3rd being moments before this post. She gets into a bad mood and then just completely disregards me(or so it feels) and just broods in her own feelings. I try to reassure her that I’m there for her, give her space, or even ask questions which quickly get shot down with a “I don’t wanna talk about it” or “I’m not in the mood” even “I don’t wanna think about it cause it’ll make me mad again”.
Feel free to ask deeper questions as I may have over looked a important part of information.
P.S.
This is in regards to the 3rd reason she is in a bad mood I’m assuming.
Just got off the phone with her and maybe I’m pushing to hard, maybe I’m not… I’m unsure of what to do.
It started with her telling me that she wants me to leave. I asked her, “why what’s wrong” She replied, “i don’t think it’s going to work out” “you need to find someone else” “I don’t think I could love anyone” “I’m not in a good place” “your to good of a man to get dragged down with me” “it’s always ended bad” “what if I lose feelings for you” “I don’t want to hurt you so you should just leave” “you shouldn’t be pursuing me”
I fought against it. “I think your perfect for me” I’m not going anywhere” “I want you to know you can lean on me” “I want you to know that whatever you going through I’ll be here” “I want to be here” “I think your worth it”
That’s all I can remember atm.
It was a back and forth ending with her calling me in the morning (later today) as it is late. (Thank god cause she seemed like she would have just hung up and left forever)
TLDR: she doesn’t think it’ll work out. I think it will. She doesn’t think she can love anyone. I think she can. I wanna stay next the her. She wants me to leave so I don’t get hurt.

The reports started coming in from the east about unusual events, people disappearing over night without any of their belongings missing and only small signs of struggle. The population of entire towns started to disappear over night with the military soon stepping in and it wasn't long before images of the military fighting the undead started to show up in every news channel, with the military clearly having a tough time containing the undead no matter what methods or weapons they used. It was soon after that the undead started attacking major cities, leaving them filled with deserted cars with the high rise buildings covered in smoke and fire. Major cities soon were deserted as the undead roamed the streets, slowly claiming their territory on the planet. It's about an year later and humanity is pretty much losing the war with the undead day by day, majority of them hiding in underground bunkers and some of them having claimed prisons and islands as their sanctuary. (Hello ladies. Would love to find a longterm partner willing to play this out. I have a few ideas for my character and would love for you to come with yours so we can brainstorm ideas. HIGHLY prefer pics of your character and outfits. Kinks and limits will be discussed in chat or dm. Prefer to play this over discord.)

I just completed my sophomore year of high school, and it’s time for me to start thinking about college. Making films is like, my childhood dream. I want to make films, even as a hobby. Are there any clubs or something like that at SFU? Or courses that involves film making? If it has no prerequisites it's even better. Or even discord groups by like-minded people?
Already took IAT 202 (A class where you make short films), and i was fucking sabotaged by a bunch of no-life losers. Thinking about that class still makes me want to fucking punch someone every time, preferably one of my 202 group members. Even my 202 instructor the fucking bitch Susan Clements-Vivian ignored my email for future opportunities. I don't even know where to find them.
I want to try again, this time with competent people who would be open to new ideas and appreciate my talents and potential. IAT students really do poison everything they touch unfortunately.
Would really want to find the chance to make my talents shine and make my vision come true, any filmmaking opportunities here at SFU? thanks.

2023.05.30 04:10 BrandonMortale Cost For Shapeshifting

In my comic, I have 2 main magic systems and at the moment I'm having trouble with one character that uses both. I'll give a brief description of both magic systems starting with the harder one and then the softer one to not waste too much of your time. Ultimately this is a post asking for some ideas on the cost for this character's special ability.
Zen
Zen is the secondary magic system of my comic that won't be introduced for a while but that I'm already starting to hint at the existence of. The idea is to reach a state of pure and unhindered focus, at which point your inner Lotus is brought forth. The cost of this system is that anything, a single distraction, even as small as someone saying your name can break your concentration. Different Zen users mitigate this through various techniques. Some fight with their eyes closed to avoid half of the things that could distract them, some disassociate with reality, hyper-fixating on their goal, some associate fighting with a simpler action like dancing to make it routine, etc. The idea is that Zen is incredibly hard, but theoretically, anyone can do it. The major difference comes with the Lotus of each user. Once introduced, there will be 4 Lotuses described (Red, Orange, Yellow, and Blue), but theoretically there are many more that are unknown, two of which are introduced later in the series.
All that you guys need to know is that this character is a Red Lotus. Those with a red lotus are often obsessed with detail, hyper-observant, and tend to get tunnel vision when their goal is in sight, obsessively calculating how to reach it. When Red Lotuses enter Zen, they gain a boost to physical abilities such as speed, dexterity, and perception.
Weaves
This magic system is the comic's namesake and is based heavily on alchemy, with a fair amount of inspiration taken from JJBA and Kill la Kill. The world is our own in 1649 AD near the end of the 30 years war, and the premise is that supposedly long ago and Alcahest Weaver created 8 outfits called Weaves with the ability to unlock the soul's true potential. They have somewhat of a mind of their own, but are more like animals and only move when they are near someone they believe will have a powerful ability or at least one that fits with the outfit itself. The idea is that every ability is a mix of the outfit and its wearer, so if someone changes their outfit they'll have a different manifestation of their ability, but with some slight alterations to fit with the new Weave. It's mostly soft magic other than that, and the abilities are very inspired by a mix of JJBA and alchemical lore. For example, the main character of my comic has an ability reminiscent of Phlogiston, an alchemical theory of how fire works. His ability allows him to move the "flammability" of an object to another object. For example, he can turn a pile of wood to ash, and then make a rock in his hand as flammable as all that wood. I hope that makes sense.
With all of that defined, this character is an untrained Red Lotus with a Weave that grants him the ability to take on animal traits. The problem I'm having is that I want his ability to have a cost, and I want it to fit the theme of "mutation" or "evolution" but I'm not sure how to do that without making him evil/edgy my having to collect blood from the animal first, or boring for fight scenes like him having to wait a long time or power it up or something. Essentially I want combat to still be fast-paced and intelligent, with the main character having to think through his options and defeat enemies through will and intelligent action, but also make the ability require some kind of workaround that enemies can exploit or that he'll have to learn to use wisely.
Sorry for the wall of text but thank you so much for reading this far! I'd love to hear your suggestions and thoughts on costs and what they're good for below! I'd love multiple suggestions just because there's a lot of nuance to the situations I'll be putting this character in and it'd be to complicated to just describe them all here. Besides, no spoilers lol. Though don't be afraid to reply if you just have a quick comment or idea!
EDIT: I'm thinking of changing this character's ability entirely to fit the idea of "Mutation" a bit more. I kind of want this to have a similar feel to the main character's ability in terms of the equivalence between input and output. Where the main character has to turn something to ash in order to use its flammability, I think I want this character to have a similar "equivalent-exchange-like" thing going on, where the ability they get is just as impactful as the cost. I guess what I'm trying to say is a good cost in this system should have a bit of a learning curve, where the more you understand the ability the more effective you are at using it. As an example, the main character learns quickly that if he uses a lot of fuel he can even light the air itself on fire, basically shooting a fire beam, though this does consume a lot of fuel. His ability also changes based on the arena he's fighting in, since not everything is flammable enough to offer much fuel, which makes things interesting and makes him have to improvise. I want this character's ability to cause similar but unique situations.
