2023.05.30 06:30 farmer_giles91 12 Days Honeymoon in Tokyo & Kawaguchiko with tips and observations

I just had my honeymoon (originally scheduled for Jun 2020). My wife and I are in our early thirties. It’s my wife’s first time in japan while it’s my fourth. I’ve benefitted immensely from stalking Tokyo travel reddit and would like to return the favour. I’ll provide some of my tips and observations to the end (skip to the end if the itinerary doesn’t interest you), some of which I think haven’t been mentioned before.
Thank God pretty much everything went to plan, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We spent 12 days in Japan, most of it in Tokyo and 2 nights in Kawaguchiko. Many people were surprised to know that we’d be spending most of our trip in Tokyo, but I thought it was just fine because Tokyo had a lot to offer. My wife and I aren’t big on visiting shrines or tick tourist hotspots off a checklist. We don’t shop much, but we did a lot of it simply because it’s Japan and we bought lots of quality-of-life items (not fashion) for ourselves and others. Given how much my wife really enjoyed the trip, I think others with similar interests could find something helpful too.
Pre-trip planning
Planning during the trip
Day 0 (Wed) - Arrival at Shinjuku Airport- Arrived in Haneda late, about 11. Clearance was quick but baggage took 30mins. I had no choice but to cancel my airport limousine and take the metro to our hotel in Shinjuku.- I tried Apple wallet’s Suica at first. It worked seamlessly but felt that a physical metro card was just faster so I eventually switched over.- Reached after midnight, so do let your hotel know in advance if you anticipate arriving at odd hours.
Day 1 (Thurs) - Shinjuku exploration- Originally planned to visit Tsukiji on day 1, but given that we arrive late the previous night, agreed with my wife to change the plan and spend the first day doing the Shinjuku itinerary.
Day 2 (Fri) - Kappabashi St., Fabric Town, Akihabara
Day 3 (Sat) - Cooking class in Shinjuku, Shibuya
Day 4 (Sun) - Komazawa Church, Harajuku, Shibuya
Day 5 (Mon) - Tsukiji Market, Ginza Muji/Uniqlo, Tokyo station
Day 6 (Tue) - Tokyo National Museum, Fabric town revisit, Akihabara revisit, Ochanomizu
Day 7 (Wed) - Shinjuku Gyoen Garden, Mori Museum, Ginza Wakamatsu, Shinjuku
Day 8 (Thurs) - Kawaguchiko
Day 9 (Fri) - Fuji Q Highlands, Shimoyoshida Honcho St, Batting Cage
Planning for Fuji Q & Morning Jog: I didn’t plan to go to Fuji-Q highlands before the trip. Always felt it a bit of a waste to visit amusement parks overseas. That’s until I realised that Fuji Q had some of the most exciting, (I mean world-record-holding) rollercoasters in the world. Perhaps not anymore, but that intrigued me enough, because most amusement parks only had 1-2 coasters. Problem was that wife is terrified, and she said cycling on the streets of Kawaguchiko was like a coaster ride for her. So I decided I would reach at opening time, and buy time by paying for the fast passes and try their top three coasters. The night before, we felt that we had to make decisions on our itinerary as it was our last day at Kawaguchiko. If Mt Fuji wasn’t visible, go to Oshino Hakkai, if it was, we could try going to Shimoyoshida to get a nice picture.
Day 10 (Sat) - Kichijoji, Ghibli Museum, Kichijoji Jazz bar
Woke up before sunrise for a run and to attempt to catch a sunrise picture of Mount Fuji. Streets were completely empty. Even ran to the famous Kawaguchiko Lawson for a picture. Headed back for an onsen bathe (note: we never used the hotel bathroom, and always went for an onsen bath throughout our stay in Kawaguchiko). Took a 7am bus to return to Shinjuku.
Day 11 (Sun) - Tokyo Sky Tree, Shinjuku, Back to Kichijoji, Shibuya
It was a crazy day where we simply hit the places we wanted to revisit regardless of proximity. Headed to Tokyo Skytree in the morning to check out another Ghibli store. If you’re not going to the Ghibli museum, this is probably the best store available. Headed to Shinjuku to try curry udon, then to Kichijoji to try satou beef balls and to make some purchasing decisions on some sports equipment. Then we ended up at Shibuya (my favourite place!) to the mega Don Quijote and Tokyu Hands to shop for gifts for others. It was a lovely end to our trip!
Day 12 (Mon) - Back home
Best trip ever, says my wife.

2023.05.30 06:25 yomommawearsboots $90k budget 4 door what should I get?

What car should I get? Budget is around $80k-90k and needs to be 4 door for work. Looking for: -fast, sporty, good handling -very luxury -CarPlay. -mid sized sedan -manual preferred but good automatic is fine. -would prefer lightly used for best value but less than 5 years old. -not terrible depreciation. -good looking/timeless design. -responds well to mods, want to go crazy but simple bolt ons/tune. -exhaust sounds good. No hybrids, 4 cyl, or EVs.
Current cars: -2012 CTS-V sedan manual (DD) -2014 Porsche 911 (fun) -2001 Honda S2000 (fun) -2020 Lexus LX 570 (family/dogs).
Background: I have owned BMWs and I am comfortable DIY, I do all my own maintenance and repairs. I would be planning to sell my CTS-V even though it kind of kills me. I want something a little nicer and more modern inside. Massaging seats would be awesome.
I’m in the south so don’t need awd but I would appreciate being able to put the power down without crazy tires/drag radials.
I’m kind of leaning F90 M5 Comp, G80 M3, or the CT5-V Blackwing manual but the G80 is so ugly and the Blackwing is real hard to get in manual and seem like they are over $100k even used. Also the Blackwing doesn’t look great IMO but better than the M3. Also I am a turbo guy…my current V supercharger is great but I just love turbos.
Also kicking around used Panamera Turbo S (cross truismo is sweet), Mercedes E63s, Audi RS7, or RS5 (but never been a fan of Audi, they are boring styling IMO). I would love an RS6 avant but seem way too expensive for my budget.
I love the look of the F90 M5 but depreciation will proly be brutal knowing my previous BMWs.
If I didn’t need a 4 door for work reasons. If I didn’t I would order a Lotus Emira but they waitlist is insane I’ll proly never get one.
I only drive like 10k miles per year and love driving in the twisty mountain roads nearby.
Thanks in advance!

2023.05.30 06:10 mr_reptar Any tips on leveling up faster and clearing campaign?

New to the game! I just started this weekend and I'm at lv 38. Currently, I'm going through the campaign (chapter 7) and looking to max my exp, energy, and resources daily so that I can best set myself up for mid to late game. I'm also leveling titans, sending expeditions out, and doing all my daily quests. So far, the tips I've read are that you should focus on leveling up who you like and eventually build a strong "A" team. My team (Blue+1 to +2) of Maya, Astaroth, Thea, Artemis and Jhu has been pushing through tough campaign levels, arena, and clearing tower easily.
Appreciate any advice on heroes to focus on, leveling, and campaign.
My current heroes: Maya, Thea, Astaroth, Jhu, Artemis, Aurora, Keira, Galahad, Fox, Mojo, Arachne, Faceless, Ginger, Morrigan, Qing Mao, Orion, and Phobos.

2023.05.30 06:06 RodmunchPHD Heroines of the Penninsula: Ladies Only Thracia Chapters 11-12x

Chapters 1-3
Chapters 4-7
Chapters 8-10
And we're back on everyone! May has certainly been a busy month so I haven't been able to get around to writing this until just now, but the run continues. Today I finally reap what I've sown & massively blunder while also recruiting two new essential ladies to this run. Without further ado, let's get started!
Chapter 11
This one was actually not the trickiest chapter in the entire series, but I certainly made it worse on myself because I have a need for door keys because I can't always depend on Lara to be around. I take a decent amount of time having Nanna & Karin capture some of these knights while Lara steals Door Keys where she can. Overall this was the slowest point of this streak of chapters where I just loaded up on lances/bows/keys just because I knew I wouldn't have a ton of time to slow down after this point. We kept moving, got to the doors where I burnt 1 key just to keep some of my squishier units out of ballista range & get to Kempf ASAP. Surprisingly Fred refused to be a fool and actually corner camped & used his vulnerary which gave me way more breathing room than I expected. I captured what I could with Big Mac in the throne room & tapped Kempf with Nanna to get him outta there. Overall a smooth chapter for how much I usually struggle with a full team & we're off to 11x!
Chapter 11x
Ok so this chapter was really finnicky because the top half of the map can't actually be cleared by Fred & I really really need to get to Olwen fast. She's my first mage & by god I need to use all these Thunder tomes I've been saving up. So Lara gets warped up & saves the now defenseless Fred with a Paragon Sword & Neir Scroll in hand to get more build levels. Otherwise I had Tanya & Karin in the main hallway because Machuya had to rest up. Selphina certainly chipped through the hallway, but otherwise it was a slow burn through the hallway because I couldn't heal without backing up to Safy. This whole ordeal took a few attempts because of Lara not being a combat unit, Tanya & Karin crawling through the melee, and me waiting out Meteor to make sure it didn't kill Olwen. Once I actually managed to save Olwen the chapter became far more consistent, but the amount of soldiers filing up in the top side meant the children couldn't make it out sadly. Olwen & Lara tried their hardest but with Fred constantly getting captured it was a struggle. Overall it was a difficult chapter, but we made it out with a decent haul of generic loot & a new cornerpiece to my army with a lot of training ahead of her.
I actually want to sidetrack for a minute and talk about how unique of a position Olwen is in. While she has generally bad ranks & pretty mediocre stats she's going to be among the most important units in the run. I've been saving wind & thunder tomes for a good reason, training Olwen is my fast track to getting a good magic unit. Out of all my options, Linoan is good but is stuck at 5 move until Chapter 21, Nanna only gets magic damage on Earth Sword, and frankly I don't know if I'll be getting Miranda. I very well may be stuck with Olwen being the best trained mage for most of the game, especially the more difficult outdoor chapters of the midgame. For as much as Olwen is such a weirdly balanced unit in a normal FE5 run, she's going to rapidly excel because of how rare magic damage is. I'm going to talk about this later, but keep in mind how important Olwen will be & how she grows.
Chapter 12
Hey so remember how I said my actions would bite me later? Yeah here it is, both Karin & Safy are exhausted in this chapter & I didn't kill Fred so I'm stuck with this. After much trial & error I simply fled to the top corridor with my army, let Fred get killed, and ran for the end. Also on a side note we get Mareeta, my 3rd sword unit and one with a really good promo. She's going to be used & hopefully end up decent. I managed to use Mareeta to capture Salem so only Machuya got slept. Captured the boss for a neat Vantage Manual & we made a clean getaway without any unique treasure. It was a surprisingly easier clear when I decided to not train Olwen nor capture more axes for Machuya. No arena grinding & no houses, but hey it was clean & quick.
Chapter 12x
So hey I'm continuing to reap what I sow, Lara is completely exhausted & unable to participate in this chapter! I now don't have a dancer, woo hoo! Otherwise I really don't have much to say, I warped Salem to get Perne out, Tina burned the Thief staff because I couldn't steal it with Perne, and all the treasures + 2 extra dancers were captured. Good loot all around & a terrible result with not getting a dancer. This will become a pretty massive problem later on, but for now I get a real Thief Fighter! I also get Tina, but there will be more words on her in later parts as she will eventually become important.
So with two somehow simple chapters & two more complex as normal chapters we leave behind our little journey & arrive at Tahra next time. Overall I'm getting to the point where max deploy via fatigue isn't an option so I'm going to have to space out my staff users between Tina, Safy, and Nanna. Overall the next few chapters will be a practice in roster management which will be "fun" as the Kaga fans would say. It's only going to get far harder, but overall from a mildly more analytical perspective we're moving our roster into a 2 side split of how I'm going to deploy & make some form of parity between actual units & training projects for lategame. Hopefully it won't be too long until the next part, but for now I'll leave you with the roster stats.
Tanya didn't change much, she's better than Selphina at least
Safy I am once again asking for 10 skill
Machuya my beloved meatwall
Karin isn't too different from the last post, she was out of commission for her important chapters
Level 20 Lara!
Nanna approaching 20/20 cap
Selphina literally didn't level up
Olwen's Minor Progress
On the next episode we'll get our 2nd mage, 2nd flier, and a bunch of Stam Drinks. Hope everyone enjoyed this & if you've got any questions please let me know & I'll try to answer the best I can. Thanks for reading through!

2023.05.30 05:58 Starks What is the best economy flight redemption for NYC to Japan?

There seem to be a lot of interesting options in the 35-38k range for each direction. Is it even worth it though? Trying to avoid EWR but stops are fine if under 18 hours. What's the best seat, amenities, and in-flight entertainment? Any live TV options? I don't have Amex so transferring or finding American awards might be hard.
United portal: Non-stop from EWR, non-stop ANA from JFK
American portal: Stop in LAX, or pick up JAL from somewhere else, can't redeem non-stop flights?
Haven't been considering most other portals due to higher reward requirements and fees. Virgin seems to be a huge hassle even if I wanted business class.
On a somewhat related note, what about NYC to FLL/PBI/MIA? Should I stick with Jetblue or is the rare flagship American 777 route into MIA worth trying?

2023.05.30 05:57 erenfrombackthen After a few hours of mental stimulation I cant mask anymore and will often dissociate and become very monotone. I am starting a job and want to know if there's anyway to keep that from happening

So I've noticed that after a few hours of doing things I loose the ability to mask and then everyone around me finds me weird and I also feel wrong because I'm so used to masking. I will get very monotone and also have a hard time picking my words or having facial expressions. I also dissociate and stim alot. I can also get overwhelmed way easier than usual. I also have gotten really bad headaches that occasionally turn into migraines. It happens even faster if I'm in a new place, stressed, or overly stimulated (like it being hot or loud.) Its like I just run out of social energy.
My boyfriend pointed it out to me a few months ago, he said after a few hours of doing stuff that is stimulating I will completely shut down and seem like a different person. He gets scared that I'm mad at him even though I'm not.
The main issue is that it makes it difficult to work. I had a job at a Halloween store back in October and my shifts were usually 6 hours and by the 4th hour I would start to dissociate and have trouble being welcoming (apparently when I get like that I look very angry or very upset). I would also need to go into the back every so often and just stand there and try to ground myself for a few minutes. I noticed that it was getting worse and worse day by day so I quit.
I am starting a new job tomorrow and I am afraid that it'll happen again. My shifts are 5 hours long and its a new and stressful place so I'm not sure how long I can keep it up. The dissociation is the biggest issue. I can try my best to talk normal and make expressions, but I have alot of trouble stopping myself from dissociating. I think my brain just finds it less overwhelming if I zone out.
I even do it when i'm having fun or really excited and its really frustrating because I bring the mood down. At concerts or going to places I've always wanted to go, I'll be completely blank faced. A few times my boyfriend has done something or brought me somewhere and he'll seem off and when I ask whats wrong he say he fells bad because I'm not excited, and I'm always like "I'm too excited that I literally can't show it". Hes gotten better at understanding it, but he still gets nervous that im not enjoying things.
I have noticed a way to kinda get my energy back is singing/music, eating, being around animals, or wandering around outside. But alot of those things are not always an option.
I know that its impossible for me to be normal and to seem normal all the time, but is there any way I can avoid using so much energy that I literally can't mask anymore? I don't know how to not mask, I dont know if its possible to just tone it down and use less energy, like mask halfway. If thats possible then how can I learn how to do it. It feels wrong to not be super animated. I know I don't need to be that animated but I feel like if I wasn't as animated people would find me weird. I used to be less, but I noticed more people like you if you seem very happy and excited all the time so thats typically how I am.

2023.05.30 05:56 stonehammy 40 [M4F] Midwest, looking for my last first kiss

I'm from Northwest Iowa. Been on every dating site known to man and l just seeing if I can maybe hit gold on here. Looking for someone to grow old with as I'm tired of always coming home to an empty apartment, there is only so much Mass Effect games once can play (PS4). I'm 6' tall, Brown hair and brown eyes, I am overweight but have decided I need to change that otherwise I'm going to have a short life and I don't want that. I want to have kids and grow old with someone.
Hmm favorite things/hobbies
-Going to concerts
-Going to Movies (I'm a movie whore)
-Star Wars geek and Marvel Geek.
-I listen to mostly hard rock/heavy metal, not country too much
-Favorite bands are Seether (seen and met them multiple times), Killswitch Engage (Howard Jones fronted is the best imo), Disturbed, In This Moment, Halestorm, Lacuna Coil, Metallica (of course who doesn't like Metallica and call themselves a metal head), and many more.
-Kansas City Chiefs Football fan
-Sci-fi geek (star wars (know trivia upon trivia), star trek to a certain point, Stargate movie and series, Supernatural, Arrowverse shows, etc) -vampire mythology and ghost hunting
-Long talks that go long into the nights about nothing and everything at once
-Like the seasons of Halloween to Christmas
-Like to sit in front of the window and watch it snow during the holiday season, if there isn't snow it just doesn't feel like the holiday season
-I'm a gamer PS4 mostly. Don't do much online play, haven't found a game that I like yet do that.
-Love the Mass Effect series (yes even Andromeda, once the bugs were fixed it was a really good game) Madden, Tomb Raider games, Star Wars: Fallen Jedi Order. I'm one that will play for a little bit to relax and then go about everyday life.
-My ideal job would be to be in radio as that is what one of my college degree's are in.
-There is a lot more stuff and if you're interested please ask as I am an open book.
As for what I'm looking for, I'm not picky. Of age obviously, Redheads are my kryptonite, someone that isn't looking for a sugar daddy or depend on someone to get them through life, Independent, would be happy cuddling on the couch instead of going out every night (once in a while is fine), if you have kids not problem (kids seem to like me).
If the right person comes along I can do a long distance relationship as long as we close the distance. Just looking for a connection and maybe even if I don't find that I can at least fine someone to talk to.
I'm easy to get a hold of, either through here or kik or if there are other chatting programs I would do that.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Not the best pic but I have more if you'd like

2023.05.30 05:53 NaimaChan Trip Report: Tokyo, Kawaguchiko, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Yokohama, Kamakura

Just got back from 10 days in Japan and wanted to type up a trip report to hopefully help others that are trying to plan a trip!
Our trip was 5/16 - 5/28 including travel days. This was my 2nd time in Japan (first time was study abroad for 5 weeks in May/June 2016), but it was my mom & sister's first time, so the goal was to include as many must-see activities as we possibly could in the short time we were there. Our days were packed to the brim however all 3 of us are fairly active and healthy so despite being absolutely exhausted by the end of each day, in retrospect we wouldn't have changed a thing in our itinerary.
That being said, our itinerary would be much too busy for the average person's first trip to Japan so keep that in mind if you use this information to plan your own trip. For example, we usually only had time to sit down and eat for one meal per day and had to eat on the go for the other meals in order to have enough time to go to all the places we wanted to go to. There was very little downtime in our trip.

Comprehensive Guide To Ticketing in Japan
(I apologize in advance for the visible links, I did not figure out how to hyperlink until after I posted and it will not let me edit them! ^^)
Hello everyone! I’ve noticed an uptick in the number of posts on the subreddit asking how to ticket in Japan, as Seventeen is having an increasing number of events and concerts here. I thought I’d make a comprehensive post about what you need to know about ticketing in Japan! This guide will cover concerts, fanmeetings, the Seventeen museum, the Seventeen Cafe, and pop-up shops. I will also tell you how to sign up for the memberships in Japan. Many of these use the same type of ticketing system. Here is the official Seventeen Japan site that every event is posted on, and they also have a Seventeen Japan Twitter that announces events and posts links when it is time to ticket.
I’ll start with these, because this is the most frequent post I see on this subreddit! In Japan, ticketing is done through a lottery system. Seventeen uses Lawson Ticket (ローチケット)and has for the past few years. There are multiple rounds of lottery, starting with the fanclub, then CaratMobile, then general sales. Both the fanclub and Carat Mobile have multiple draws, as you can see here on the most recent fanmeeting ticketing page.
The options, under ticketing, are as follows:
Fanclub Premium Seat lottery
Carat Mobile Premium Seat lottery
Second fanclub lottery (Regular seats + annotated seats)
Second Carat Mobile lottery (Regular seats + annotated seats)
Lawson L-encore card holders (Regular seats + annotated seats)
General Ticketing (Not lottery, first come first serve)
Lawson Ticket
To do any lottery ticketing, you will have to sign up for a Lawson Ticket account. It will ask for a Japanese phone number when you sign up. This is where you sign up. When you click this, it will ask for an email address, password, and to accept the terms of service. It looks like this.
Once you click the box at the bottom, the blue button will light up, and then you can press next (the button on the right). It will then send you an email, and once you confirm it you can keep going.
This is what the email will look like, make sure to check different mailboxes in case it goes to spam.
Click the link, and it will now ask for your password again. After that, we’re on to account information. If you do not have an address in Japan, use the address you are currently staying at, or have a friend lend you theirs. They will not send the tickets to the address, so you don’t have to worry about that. Just get something in there! The page looks like this, and I put in English what you need to put in! PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS IS ALL RIGHT!!! If you are selected for tickets, you may get your name checked at the gate on the day of the concert, and if your name doesn’t match up they could refuse you entry. They check every name for premium seats, so if you are applying for those please be extra careful! For your katakana name just look up a Japanese katakana chart and try to match your english name as best as possible, it doesn’t really matter because your name will be printed in both English and Katakana on the ticket.
Don’t forget your last name goes first, then your first name!
For this tutorial I used one of my family’s American phone numbers and it took it with no questions, so just put your real phone number in and it should be fine!
After this page, you have finished signing up!
Now that we have our account, we can apply for tickets. Back to the Seventeen Japan page screenshotted earlier in the post, there will be open links when it is time to apply for tickets. The boxes with red lettering under tickets will turn into links when it is time to ticket, and there should also be an active link in the description box when you push the arrow on the side for more information.
For when the tickets are open, Lawson has a guide for you, here is the link. Because you’ll come straight from the Seventeen website it’ll dump you straight on the ticketing page, so you can ignore the first step!
After you apply to the lottery, you will receive confirmation emails for your entries. They look like this.
It will tell you on the email when they will announce the winners. These results came out on March 24th at 11 am. You can see your results on My Page on the Lawson ticket website at that time, but usually the servers are so crowded you will never be able to log in. Other than that, and what I usually do, is wait for the emails. You will get an email telling you if you have gotten the tickets or not.
A losing email looks is on the left, and a winning one is on the right.
Since I chose to pay at the convenience store, I had to go pay at a Lawson using the Loppi machine (instructions here . To pick up tickets, you need the phone number you used, as well as the number under the artist name (I blanked mine out). The first date in March in this email told me when I needed to pay by (March 28th at 11:00 pm) and the second date in May is when I could go pick up my tickets (from May 12th at 1pm to to March 27th at 11pm). When you go to pay, the cashier will give you a slip of paper that shows you paid. Make sure to hang onto this!! I always hold onto my receipt too just in case. When you go to get your tickets, you just give the cashier that paper, and they print the tickets out for you. As you can see, the pickup date ran all the way until the day before the last day of the fanmeeting, so if you aren’t in Japan until right at the date then that is okay! Just make sure to pick them up at any Lawson before your time runs out! You won’t know your seats until you pick up your tickets.
General ticketing is not a lottery. You will need to get onto the fastest wifi you can and fight everybody tooth and nail for these tickets. I have tried general ticketing for 5-6 years, and I have never been successful. Lol… But I will cheer all you general sales people on!! You got this!! Make sure to follow the steps above for an account well before the date, as you will get tripped up and miss your ticketing chance if you don’t pre-register. Also be sure to have your debit/credit card entered, as I have heard of much more success from those who pay by card rather than convenience store pay.
Before I get into fanclub and carat mobile, I want to let you know that if you do not have an address or phone number in Japan, getting into these is basically impossible. The fanclub sends you mail, so you can’t just put any address in. Carat Mobile is only available on phones, and you have to have a Japanese phone number to actually have an account. I’m sorry :(
The Fanclub does its sign ups through Lawson, and you pay a year’s sum when you sign up. Go to the Seventeen Japan website and click the button on the top left of this picture!
Scroll down to the white box at the bottom, and make sure the little box above it is checked to agree to Lawson terms.
You’ll go on to Lawson, where you come to this page.
The button on the left takes you to the application, and the button on the right takes you to what’s included in the membership. Click the left button!
On the new page, scroll to the bottom and agree to terms, then click the blue button on the right and login to your Lawson account.
The next page will ask for your details are. Because you already signed up for an account it should be automatically filled in. Just make sure everything is right, as again they will be checking your name for premium or VIP seats. You also get a Carat ID card in the mail when you sign up for the fanclub, so make sure everything is spelled correctly! Don’t forget that your last name goes first, then your last name!
When you press next, it will take you to a page that asks your bias and your favorite unit. Members are listed in fanchant order, the units are 1. Vocal 2. Hip Hop 3. Performance Choose and press next! :)
On the next page, it will confirm that all of your information is correct. Please triple check that everything is correct!!
Next it will ask for a payment method. Credit card is on the left.
Put in your card details, and you’re finished! You’ll get an email with your fanclub member number and a link, press the link and it will prompt you to set your password. Here’s what the email looks like.
You are now signed up!! Your ID card and pin will be in the mail within two months :)
Within the past two years the fanclub has introduced ticket trading, where if someone cannot go to the concert but has tickets, they can put them up for sale. The Seventeen Japan Twitter usually posts when this becomes available, and you can only access it if you are a fanclub member. Tickets are available for face value + handling fees. I have not done this before, so I have no advice or guidance for this part! I am sorry! I assume it will be mostly the same as the other ticketing in this post though, so hopefully if you choose this route you can use something from here to help.
Carat Mobile
Now for Carat Mobile. Carat Mobile is a better option for those who cannot or do not want to pay the larger fanclub fee all at once. The monthly fee is 550 yen, or about $3.92 usd. Carat Mobile is only available on your phone, so scan the qr code from the website here and continue to sign up on your phone.
Once you scan the QR code, click the three bars in the top right of the screen. Then, click the button under "Gallery" to go to make a new account.
Once you are here, it will ask for an email address and for you to accept the terms of service. Check your email for a sign up email. The email looks like this. The link will expire in 24 hours, so make sure to complete registration right away!
It will ask for these things, in order:
Password (choose yours)
Password confirmation
Last name
First name
Last name (Katakana)
First name (Katakana)
Birthday (YY/MM/DD)
Phone number
Address (Zip code > Prefecture > Street number + Apartment building name + Apartment number> Bias)
Once you finish putting these in, push confirm (bottom button) and it will take you to a payment site. Press credit card, put your silly numbers in, your name, agree to the terms of service, and press the very bottom button. It will take you to the finishing page, where it will give you your member number. The number will be seven numbers starting with an M.
You are now a Carat Mobile member! Congrats! It will bill you monthly.
Unofficial ticketing
If you lose all the lotteries or cannot access Carat Mobile or the Japanese Fanclub, you can go the unofficial way: Twitter or proxy sites! These tickets are much riskier, as Japanese venues randomly check names on tickets. If you are checked and the name doesn’t match your ID, the staff will turn you away and you will not be able to enter the venue.
If you want to look for tickets on twitter, here is your format. I’ll use the Love Fanmeeting as the example. Type this into the twitter search bar.
SEVENTEEN 2023 JAPAN FANMEETING 'LOVE' セブチ ペンミ ファンミ チケット
求 (want)▶︎5/28 東京ドーム 1枚 (date you want + how many, this one says tokyo dome 1 ticket)
譲 (will give) ▶︎定価+手数料 (list price + handling fee)
Or switch it around, but it should give you the same result! I.e.
求 (want)▶︎ 定価+手数料 (list price + handling fee)
譲 (will give) ▶︎ 5/28 東京ドーム 1枚 (tokyo dome 1 ticket)
Listings look like this.
Once again, Premium Seats/VIP seats will ALWAYS check your name. DO NOT BUY THESE SECOND HAND!!
People make burner accounts just for selling, like this one is.
They are asking for list price and handling fee, but some people ask for you to name a price. These tickets will be very expensive, as it is competitive and these people usually have many people asking for tickets.
When you’re looking for tickets, make sure that the characters are in the correct place.
What the person in the tweet is looking for is under this kanji: 求
What the person in the tweet is in possession of is under this kanji: 譲
When buying tickets from twitter, the people will usually meet you at the venue with the tickets. They should take them out and show you to prove they are real. You then hand them the money. This is probably the safest way to go if you’re doing unofficial sales, as other sites may make you pay in advance. If they are a scammer, your money is lost :( Unlike other countries, there are no official resale sites. Be careful, and godspeed!
Seventeen Cafe
Now for all the other smaller events you can go to!! The Seventeen Museum and Cafe happen once a year. Each time it happens, there is a new webpage for it.
I’ll use the most recent cafe, 2022 Winter Camping, to show how to get tickets. Here is the link to see! First, you’ll have to make an account with the company that runs the cafes.
At the top right of the page, press the left button. The first page is terms and services, accept these. It will ask you for your email, and will then take you to this page.
Make sure to remember last name, first name! To make sure foreigners can also access this, I made a new account with an overseas phone number, and it worked! :) It will take you to the info confirmation page next, where you just make sure everything is right. There are two buttons, a black one on the right and a white one on the right. If the colors change, their positions should stay the same. Click the one on the right.
And you’re finished! Now you can make a reservation. Weekends and Friday evenings fill up very fast, so if you can’t go on weekdays get to reservations right when they start! The Seventeen Japan Twitter will announce when they start.
Hover over the reservation tab and pick the store you want to go to. They are usually in English, just make sure you pick the right one!!
Scroll to the bottom of the page and it will show you the available dates.
I can’t click on any because it is over, but when you click on the date it will show you the available times. Pick your time, how many people you want ( I think it’s up to two), and finish the registration. It will send you an email. This is what the email looks like! If you chose to pay at the convenience store, it will also have the number you need to input into the machine to pay at the store. You usually get random goods when you go as well, so it will tell you that too.
On the day of your reservation, show up about 5-10 minutes early. Other Carats will start lining up then too. The staff will go down the line and confirm your tickets. Go to “my page” on the website and click the first button.
It will come up with a QR code that the staff will scan. When it has gone through, the webpage will change, so it can’t just be a screenshot! You have to show the actual webpage. When you enter the cafe or when you sit down you will get to randomly draw your benefits! For this cafe it was a random plastic card and a card case.
Study the menu and things beforehand, as when you line up the staff will give you a clipboard where you pick what you want to eat and drink. Each of the members have a meal, and there are also drinks with coasters. You pick which member you want on the coaster when you check which drink you want on the paper. The staff will also give you small cards with numbers on them when you sit down. They will call each number up to 4 at a time to go to the merch area and purchase what you want. This is your one time to grab merch, you can’t go back up so choose wisely and quickly!! If you’re very brave, you can try to trade with other carats at the cafe for your bias. You can usually see whose bias is whose because of the photocards and merch each person brings. I love going to the cafes, it’s so fun to see other carats and enjoy the cafe with them :) They play music videos and a video that the sebongies shot for the cafe, they tell you to have fun and talk about the theme of the cafe. You have an hour and a half to sit! If you have the chance to, please go!! Have fun! :)
Seventeen Museum
Getting tickets for the Museum is a lot like the cafe. If you want weekend/Friday night tickets, get reservations early!
Museum tickets are on Lawson ticket. Log in before we start to streamline the process!
The museums are announced on the Seventen Japan Twitter! This was the page for the 2022 museum.
This is where you went for tickets. The top links are for those who want to go in the earlier month (September) and below was for those who missed ticketing for September or could go in the later months (October and November). If you don’t want to do it online, you can also buy tickets when you get to the museum, but they may turn you away if the time slot is filled.
Once you click a link, it will have you accept Lawson terms of service. Click the right button to continue. You will go through the same process as you would with concert tickets. Make sure you pick the right venue! They have merch for the museum, and there is a random draw when you enter for one bromide picture of a member. Because it’s the same as the concert tickets, please refer to the concert ticket section if you need help there!
Pop up stores
When there is a comeback and before a concert, there are pop up stores. There are albums, concert merch, and other things, as well as a photo spot to take pictures. Same as the cafe and museum, get there very fast for weekend and Friday night spots. I’ll use the most recent Love popup for this example! These tickets were sold through weverse. The following picture is the button for making reservations!
Next page, push the big purple button to go on.
Though the buttons/colors will change for each pop-up shop, the words on the buttons shouldn't change, so for other events just make sure the kanji lines up!
It will take you to weverse login. After login, scroll to the bottom of the page, accept terms of service, and click the bottom button, it says the same as the button above, お申し込むに進む .
The next page asks for your information!
Small Japanese lesson for furigana! In Japanese, there are multiple alphabets; hiragana (furigana), katakana, and kanji. Western names will be in katakana, which is the way that foreign words are written in Japanese. Hiragana is the basic Japanese alphabet, and furigana is written above kanji to indicate its pronunciation. I feel like the easiest thing for those who do not know Japanese is to use a hiragana generator. Here's one I found with a quick google search.
Okay back to ticketing! After you confirm your details, this is the next page; selecting your tickets. Because the shop is finished, we can’t see the dates and times anymore, but I’ll tell you what’s up.
So pick your date and time and finish! You don’t have to pay to get in, but slots go so fast, so be quick with your picks! :)
And that's what I have! If I've missed something or anyone else wants to add anything please put it in the comments!! I made this to help you all participate in these events, and I hope you all get in to the things you want to go to. This took me about four hours, so I hope it helps at least one person lol! Let's keep loving and supporting Seventeen for a long time^^

2023.05.30 05:43 Lakruna Trying to start a gay girl band in IV!!!!!!!

Hey! I'm a junior whose gonna be a senior next fall and I wanna start a gay indie rock/ alt rock band this summer!! If you like artists like Car Seat Headrest, Better Oblivion Community Center, Arctic Monkeys, Paramore, Alvvays, etc, hit me up!! I'm a lesbian and would LOVE to have a super queer "girl" band, preferably with sapphics, but if you're a really queer guy that's cool too. I'm looking for a drummer, a lead guitarist, and a bassist (who have their own instruments). I don't know much about like playing live and sound equipment, but my dad knows a bunch about that so he can help out lol. Basically I just have this pipe dream of being the lead singer (/rhythm guitarist) of a band and I'm not even particularly the best musician, but I think it could be a silly fun venture for my last year at UCSB. Ideally, the band would form over the summer and we'd start performing in the late summer or early fall. It wouldn't be very serious at all, super low stakes, and more just about having fun with other gay girlies who wanna rock out!!!! Here's a spotify playlist with some suggestions of shit I'd wanna play, but I'm 1000% open to anything! And if you know any queer girlies or sapphics who'd be interested, plz share them this post!!!!! <3

2023.05.30 05:35 SummitEstate Financing Real Estate expansion + conversion to health care inpatient (if not with SBA 504)

Current business. - One of the best addiction treatment centers in CA. Best in the Silicon Valley (we have several decent competitors in Marin County and then the rest of the competiton is in Malibu)
Small. High End. 6 bed residential/inpatient + 30 seat outpatient. ~30 fte employees/contractors. 6m/y rev.
INITIAL PROBLEM: Vast majority (95%) of people calling us we can not service at our current pricepoint/location and we refer out. Even rather decent insurance policies. Insurance wise - Out of Network. We primariy can only accept PPO policies from people working for Big Tech.
SOLUTION: Open quite a bit larger, cheaper to run per bed, facility while providing great clincal care. ~30-40 bed. This been on my plate for a while. So in preparation I secured decent in-network contracts to fill the beds once it opens. This would at worst 3x revenue.
COMPETITION: Larger facilities, even in the immediate area in the exist. I humbly believe that we can run circles around them as far as good clinical services and still make money. I have spoken to several owners. My idea of quality that people in recovery deserve is a level or two higher.
Paths to getting a 30 bed going
1) Buy an apartment building and convert it. ~4-6 m if in San Jose area. - Hard to get SBA loan (they dont like RE) to do this as a conversion requires conditional use permit. Plus I would prefer it to be "nicer" than your run of the mill apt with 11-15 units, even nicely converted.
2) Buy a motel/hotel and convert it. SBA allows around 5m, but one of the hotels that I like is around 7m. Another around 9m.
Last I spoke with SBA lender they were more interested in me finding an already running "larger addiction treatment center" to take over. But for me the "treatment center" part is nearly irrelevant. Most sell without RE.
What are some creative ways to look for this financing that is larger in size than SBA 504?
Thank you

2023.05.30 05:31 Secondary_Type Vengeful Ghost

Barber’s Star, 2382

Captain Jayme Dawson sat at the centre of the bridge of the destroyer NFNS Anders T. Christian and grinned to himself with a proprietary satisfaction at his crew’s performance during the drill he’d just run them through; tensions along the border had been growing for months, and he’d be damned before he’d give his people anything less than their best chance at survival. Destroyer Squadron 193, part of the task force sent to defend Barber’s Star, was picketing the system and watching the hyper limit. The Christian’s closest fellows, her sister ships Invincible and Redoubtable, were each a quarter of the way around the system in different directions, millions of kilometres away. Were she to encounter any trouble, the Christian would be on her own for hours.
Dawson saw his sensors officer stiffen in her seat, and rose an eyebrow. “Share with the class, Ensign?” he asked, pulling up the tactical plot on one of his own displays…and nearly had a much more unseemly reaction. Even as she was reading out the situation in a shaking voice, he was running through his options in his mind. “Th-three light cruisers just jumped in, Sir. They aren’t broadcasting any identification—power spike. They’re raising shields.”
A corner of his mind noted how much professionalism she managed to regain by the end of her report, but he had more important things to worry about. Those cruisers were not supposed to be in-system, and clearly had intentions far from peaceful. “Comms, get word to Admiral Miranda and broadcast the standard challenge. Ops, get me shields, and bring the weapons up; looks like we won’t be able to get out of this one if they turn out to be hostile.”
The look he gave at his crew was the grin of a cornered wolf. When they returned it with similar expressions of their own to the beat of the General Quarters alarm, he felt a strange assurance they wouldn’t disappear into the black alone.

Admiral Carmen Miranda listened to the briefing with an incredulity she couldn’t hide even behind the habitual snacking she partook in. After she squawked her distress, the Christian had engaged the cruisers and her signal had abruptly cut off. She’d made the obvious and prudent assumption Dawson had been defeated and his ship destroyed and sent a small force out to reconnoitre the area. Expecting to find the wreckage of a destroyer, they’d found a field of debris surrounding three light cruisers floating dead in space. Lifeboats screamed for help. The enemy’s lifeboats. He’d sent his report off to FLEETCOM at Charlemagne. The raiders had been defeated, themselves…but where was the Christian?

Barber’s Star, 2495

NFMS Hera’s Dream wallowed through normal space, as was the merchant ship’s wont and lot in life. The uneventful flight had left the Second Mate Sammy Ortega, officer of the watch, yawning. He hated routes like these, and glanced at the plot with a well-hidden resentment; Nine (the creatively-named ninth planet of the system) was on the outskirts of the Barber’s Star system, and it left him and his captain’s ship vulnerably near the hyper limit for nearly two-thirds of the trip. The perfect place to get jumped by pirates. Still, though, the system had grown into a defence nexus since the War of ‘82, and it needed the precious metals Hera’s Dream carried. It also meant that Fleet ships weren’t exactly rare in the system.
None of that, however, was much consolation when four pirate ships lit off their drives and began to burn hard to intercept the ponderous fleet supply ship travelling with no protection but the light asteroid shielding that allowed it to travel at a small percentage of light speed. Even before Johny Nelson, the man sitting at the sensor console, could give his trembling report, red icons littered the plot as the pirates’ fire-control radars swept across the unarmed ship’s hull.
“They’re hailing us, Sammy,” Nelson said quietly, the shake in his voice flattening into a disbelieving facsimile of a person’s speech.
Gritting his teeth, Ortega told him to accept the signal. A slovenly face grinned back at him through the command chair’s display when they made the connection. “Cut thrust and prepare to be boarded. Any resistance will be met with force,” he stated, then grinned savagely and licked his lips. “A lot of force.”
The connection closed even while the overwhelmed second mate opened his mouth to respond; before he could turn to the wide-eyed woman at the helm to order their acceleration halted, to give in to the pirate’s demands, Nelson stiffened. “Another contact, Sammy,” he reported. “I don’t think it’s a pirate—the vector’s all wrong. And she’s fast, Sammy.”
“A fleet patrol?” Ortega asked.
“No IFF,” Nelson replied.
“Get her on the horn, Johny,” Ortega ordered.
“Nothing on the comms…huh? That’s weird,” Nelson said, then leaned forward. A strange dread filled Ortega; why wouldn’t she answer hailing? Nelson’s eyes widened. “She’s got her shields up, Sammy!” he exclaimed.
The plot said she had enough power to be a destroyer, but even a true warship of her class should be cautious about engaging this many pirates! On she came nonetheless, shields glowing a curiously menacing red. On she came, hundreds of thousands of kilometres from either the Hera’s Dream or any of the pirate ships. On she came, speeding toward the centre of the pirate “formation.”
When the first beams reached out, Ortega reflected on the courage of that single ship. It was a rare thing, shown by very few even within the navies protecting the disparate human planets. Even as he snapped orders to the woman at the helm, who obeyed in a sort of fugue state incurred by the stress of the situation, he contemplated the stranger’s fearless behaviour.
Like a tiger to its meat, he thought to himself.
The unknown ship flew incredibly; Ortega thought that the helmsman must’ve lived that ship, for how she pirouetted and slipped mere metres aside to avoid the pirates’ beams. Never did that ship fear their guns or numbers, and when their beams inevitably impacted, the entire bridge crew of the Hera’s Dream cringed, expecting those ruby-red shields to collapse. To their astonishment, they held strong, and hot lances of fury struck out from that unyielding bubble, rending the aether. The crew could only watch and shake their heads as this strange, astounding ship cut the pirates to bloody shreds.
Just as quickly as the stranger had shown up and begun to fight the pirates, then the fighting was all done; the pirate fleet was shattered, and the unknown ship had won. Ortega instructed Nelson to attempt to hail the stranger again to thank them, but once again their hailing went unanswered.
“She’s matching velocity,” Nelson reported, his voice filled with the awe and stunned surprise the rest of the crew were feeling. She pulled alongside close enough the hull-mounted cameras could get a good look at her when she dropped her shields.
When she did, the only sound on the bridge was that of three souls collectively inhaling.
The hull of that strange ship was irrevocably marred by the scars of some long-ago encounter; thirty holes ran clear through her, and a large gash left one side missing much of its hull panelling. Every spacer aboard the Hera’s Dream looking knew, without a doubt, that when the ship sustained those grievous wounds everyone aboard had died.
“Mr. Ortega,” the helmswoman said, finally gaining her voice. When his eyes met hers, she gave him a shell-shocked grin. “Have you ever heard the tale of Dawson’s Christian?” she asked, then pointed at the monitor. Ortega was confused for a brief moment, before his eyes returned to the feed and widened.
Painted in white lettering across what seemed to be the only surviving hull space on their side, they could see the ship’s name…Anders T. Christian. That realisation seemed to course through not only them, but also the stranger; instead of flying away, though, the hull itself began to fade from reality before their very eyes. The stunned, silent crew of the Hera’s Dream laid witness to the grizzly sight that was the view of the outer compartments of the shattered ship. Bodies laid askew, floating in the zero-G vacuum, limbs burned off by the edges of beams or torn off by flying shrapnel.
Mercifully, further detail was hidden by the dead crew’s shipsuits.
The bulkheads began to shimmer from perception as the bridge crew aboard Hera’s Dream began to tremble.
The last thing to slip from view were the bones…dead white bones of Jayme Dawson and his crew.
There are stories of the Dutchman, the Celeste and Barnham’s Pride, stories of the Horseman and the Lady at his side…

Kuiper Yard, Sol, 2500

“...but the tale that chills my spirit,” Ortega finished, “and I swear to God it’s true, is the tale of Jayme Dawson and his crew.”
The spacers sitting around the table shared disbelieving glances, but in their years since working aboard Sammy Ortega’s ship, they’d never heard him tell any tall tales. Besides.
It was comforting to know that merchants had a protector.
Even if it was just a vengeful ghost.
ِ A short story I wrote based on the song Dawson's Christian. Highly recommend y'all give it a listen. Critique is welcome.

2023.05.30 05:14 Basre2 I wished I had never heard of online crypto casinos

I was always a fan of online gambling. I loved the thrill of placing bets, the excitement of winning, and the convenience of playing from anywhere. I decided to try out online crypto casinos[^1^][1], where I could use my Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to play. I thought it was a great idea, since crypto was fast, secure, and anonymous.
I joined one of the best crypto casinos according to, a site that ranked and reviewed the most popular ones. I deposited some Bitcoin and started playing. I was impressed by the variety of games they had, from slots to live casino to sports betting. I even played some of the exclusive games like Stake Originals and Crypto Games. I had a lot of fun and won some money too.
One day, I decided to try something different. I joined a new crypto casino that had just launched. It had a catchy name and a flashy website. It offered a huge welcome bonus and a lot of promotions. It claimed to be the best crypto casino ever. I was curious and signed up.
I deposited some Bitcoin and started playing. The games were okay, but nothing special. The graphics were mediocre, the sound effects were annoying, and the payouts were low. I was disappointed and bored.
I decided to withdraw my money and leave. I clicked on the withdraw button and entered my Bitcoin address. I waited for the confirmation email.
And waited.
And waited.
I checked my spam folder, my trash folder, my inbox. Nothing. I contacted the customer support, but they didn't reply. I searched for the casino's name on Google, but I couldn't find it. It was gone. The website, the social media accounts, the reviews. All gone.
I realized I had been scammed. I had lost all my money to a fake casino that had disappeared with my money. I felt like an idiot. I wished I had done some research before joining the casino. I wished I had read the reviews on CryptoCasinos, where they warned me about scam casinos and how to avoid them.
I wished I had never heard of online crypto casinos.

2023.05.30 05:06 DWYL_LoveWhatYouDo Irving Plaza GA tickets: I need help planning my trip

Lots of questions, all about How To: Irving Plaza, NYC. I hope someone can help!
I will be one old lady, wearing a N95 mask and carrying lots of hand sanitizer, driving to NYC next weekend to go to a hip-hop show by myself.
I have a ticket for the first weekend in June to see a show at Irving Plaza, general admission. I haven't been to more than 3 or 4 GA concerts in my long life. It's been 5 years since the last concert, but I had preferred entry for that show, which didn't go very well. So I am anxious about not having a bad experience this coming weekend. I want to be as prepared as I can be.
My tickets say GA2. I read that the theater capacity is 1200 people. I am short. I am not sure I'll be able to see the stage from the back of the room, so...
Question about Irving Plaza box office: Is it worth it to take up their time and mine to call the box office about my questions? Are they helpful to clueless out-of-towners? Or do they tend to be too busy to deal with random callers who ask stupid questions? Will they return my call after I leave a message?
Has anyone bought a ticket at the box office before the day of the show? Do they have Will Call as an option if I call to purchase directly? I can't tell from their website. Do they only sell through Live Nation/tickermaster until the day of the show? Is the Concert Line phone number always busy or is it just the holiday/weekend? Is the Concert Line a recorded line or does a person answer the Concert Line?
Questions about Being Among The Riffraff who get in last: Does anyone know how many fast pass tickets this place sells? I don't have any idea how many people will get to stroll in before I can get through the door.
How many versions of GA are there for this venue? GA0? GA1? Is this like boarding a plane where the door attendant doesn't look closely at the groupings or are they picky about checking that riffraff don't get in sooner than the patrons with pricier tickets?
Questions about the queue before the theater opens: How early can/do avid fans start the queue? Are there any local ordinances about lining up outside the theater along the sidewalk for hours ahead of time?
Is there any place close by to use the toilet or to grab something to eat & drink if I can get there in the morning to queue?
— I can bring PB&J and a drink, if I need to, but I'm not a camel, so where to find a toilet is a more pressing question. My hotel is about 3 blocks away, so I could go there to pee if I had to, assuming they'll let me use the restroom if I can't check in early. But I worry about losing my place in line because I will be alone. While I am not at the point in my life where I need to use adult diapers, I wonder if I should consider doing so on that day. (I refuse to have digestive distress that day.)
Are folding camp stools or chairs allowed (will obviously be checked when entering the venue) so that I won't have to stand for the whole day? I have a compact little folding seat that weighs about a pound, but I don't know if it's okay to bring.
Is a sun umbrella for shade a bad idea? A good idea? Allowed or not? I will bring a poncho in case of rain.
Questions about Irving Plaza security and coat check: I have a clear bag if I need it. Is it quicker with one or does it not matter?
I know not to bring in pills, food, liquids, etc. I read about pat downs and mean security people. Should an old lady who is wearing an N95 mask expect to be thoroughly searched?
I read that they charge a $5 coat check for every item. If I have an umbrella and my little stool and my jacket in a zipped bag, perhaps a small suitcase, do you think they will they count my things as 1 item or 4 items?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me prepare for my first concert adventure since 2018! That story is a post of its own. Maybe I'll post it in the tifu subreddit someday.
