AM5 DDR5 RAM compatability is pain in a$$ - as this video makes clear. Its just teething issues I realise, but ive been told that currently (at least for my planned build, for whcih ill use the MSI B650 Mortar) - I should stick with lower-speed ram to ensure it works smoothly - an MSI forum memeber seemed to know what he was talking about here. Ive therefore selected 5200 G.skill falre x5 (64gb kit - 32 x 2)...but for 10 more dollars I can get some 5600 of the same kit (that suypposedly should work...but the speed is perhaps too high currently - BIOS updates may change this.). My question is whether I would be able to lowelimit the ram speed in the BIOS. For example I get the 5600 and just limit it to run at 5200. Is this possible, would this solve any issues I may have? (and hopefully later on MSI will release a BIOS to improve this issue).

I would like to upgrade my computer but I don't know what to upgrade, could anyone help?

3. Perhaps, I can save some money on CPU cooler by buying Box version of processor instead? How good stock Intel coolers?

I want to build 5 super-inexpensive PC (with monitor) to donate to a secondary school in my village which does not have a single computer yet. They all will run on Ubuntu. (I wish I could buy Windows)
Children will learn basic computer skills (working with operating system, typing, etc.), web browsing and e-mail, Office applications (LibreOffice), Programming (Python), Database management (mySQL), Image editing (GIMP), basic web development (HTML, CSS, JS), Desktop publishing (Scribus)

Hi guys and gals! So I have 2 Mac computers, one being a macbook pro(2019 bought in 2020) and one a 2017 iMac 21.5”. Both contain the old(i7 and i5 in respect) intel processor which are great, since they’re still fast and good all these years later(windows could never).
Now buying a new one is a hefty investment-considering i might move a country(same plug) soon, and start university(which is why i want the big screen with me as well), and seeing the insides of a new iMac-which besides the size of screen, and chip, have less space(i have a TB of storage- new “basic” ones have way less) and the same RAM as what I have, less ports for usb and such- are not all that different for the current iMac(maybe a new one would come out soon) and mine. All these are from what i could tell and im not a computer expert and my dad can’t quite help me with that knowledge anymore.
So my question is, would an upgrade for a new one might be a downgrade in pretty face? Usually my previous computers did not last long-which is why i am thankful for my mac investment seeing they are more than 87% still the same as the day they were opened for me. But i fear that sooner rather than later this iMac would be trouble as it ages. But i am confused with what i should do. Obviously i will wait until the event to see if there is a new model coming out and what might the differences be, but would it be worth it? Or are these computers workhorses and last more than i think? Help 😰 And thanks ahead!

Hello everyone, I hope that you're doing great. I recently switched my B250m / i3 7th gen to H510m / i5 10th My editing were working just fine and smooth, now whenever i start new projects or even previous ones thar worked perfectly fine, my gpu goes to +90% immediately and premiere freezes and I can only hear the music in the backround. I tried everything from reinstalling the drivers and tryint another version and everything I tried launching some videos games they worked just fine, the GPU is detected, i tried to clear the cache and add more ram to premiere yet still the same issue My GPU is 1050ti but it worked perfectly fine before. (P.S : I tried videos with different codecs, even one simple 720p video)

I have an ASUS VivoBook X415JA with an intel i3 10th gen @ 1.2 GHz with Boost 3.6 GHz, 32 GB RAM, integrated intel graphics.
According to many sites, my specs are higher than even the recommended requirements, however I have to scale down to 720p instead of 1080p, in order to have all graphics at high settings, otherwise its unplayable...?

Id like to find a good cpu cooler with display for intel i5 10400f

I am currently in the process of choosing my new RAM sticks for my PC. The motherboard I have is ASUS ROG Strix Z690-e WIFI and the CPU is Intel i7-12700k. I plan to go for 64 gb of RAM for the tasks I will be doing. My current plan is to get a set of 2 * 32 gb RAM sticks. I have checked the QVL list from ASUS and this basically narrows down my selections to the following options (QVL screenshot link attached in comment below), if I want to enable XMP somewhat reliably.
So I do hope to be a bit future proof in terms of this RAM selection now, so a higher speed option would be ideal for me. Based on the QVL, I think I would take a set of G.Skill 6000MT/s CL30 Trident Z5 sticks (F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5RS; on the QVL list), but I still feel like grabbing a set of G.Skill 6400MT/s CL32 Trident Z5 sticks (F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5RS; NOT on the QVL list) if I can still enable XMP somewhat reliably with my current motherboard and CPU setup. I know this motherboard support up to 6600MT/s RAM speed, so does anyone have any experience to reliably run this setup with a set of 6400MT/s or 6600MT/s 64 gb in total RAM sets? Do you recommend me go with the 6400MT/s set even though it is not on the QVL? (The reason I am asking is I am thinking maybe this QVL list is a little bit outdated and perhaps the 6400MT/s set could run with XMP just fine? but this is just my guess...)
Furthermore, I do have a question related to the timings of the RAM sticks. Say if I have the worry that my experience of enabling the XMP turns out to be bad and I have to stick with JEDEC 4800MT/s speed for a reliable system. In this case, does having a set of RAM with CAS latency 28 fare better than those with latency say 30 or 32? The reason I am asking is I am not sure if buying a lower speed but also lower CAS latency RAM be better than a higher speed but also higher CAS latency RAM if I have worry of not being able to reliably enable XMP profiles, because I am based on the assumption that if XMP failed and I have to stick with JEDEC speed, the timings of the RAM are going to stay the same in both options. And in this way, lower CAS latency in JEDEC speed means lower overall RAM latency, right?
Also, one last question, this may be a dumb one.. since this is my first time trying to play with XMP profiles. I always wonder does each RAM set only has one XMP profile to choose from? Say if I have a set with 6400MT/s, does it mean I have to either go with XMP at 6400MT/s or go without XMP at 4800 MT/s and there is no XMP profile with a 6000MT/s option? This question relates to my effort of trying to be a bit future proof but also hoping to reliably enable XMP for my current setup.

The battery is dead. It has been dead for a couple of months now and I didn't change it because I was getting a new laptop. It runs through the charging cable but not through the battery. It has 2 cracks on the panel.
What will be the worth of this laptop? Can I get more money out of it if I replace the battery and panel?
