2022.05.06 01:57 nickfromstatefarm Nissan/Infiniti Telematics Control Unit CAN Signals
| Hey everyone, I am working on a project to reverse engineer most of the CAN bus on the Infiniti Q50/Q60 platform, and one part I urgently want to figure out is the signals coming from the Telematics Control Unit that command the BCM to remote start/stop/lock/unlock/honk/etc. I cannot get these signals from my own vehicle, because the 3G network needed to get the TCU to send these has been disconnected. I want to use these signals in an open source project to reenable cloud connectivity on these cars. Below are some snippets from the LAN factory service manual highlighting the signals I want to capture. TCU stands for Telematics Control Unit (not TCM: Transmission Control Module), and BCM stands for Body Control Module. TCU Signals I am targeting I was hoping someone with this information - or someone with a Nissan/Infiniti that has remote capabilities through a mobile app - could help me get a CAN log while executing these commands through the Nissan/Infiniti mobile app. I have an idea of what CAN IDs to monitor, I just need to figure out what the signals are. Any feedback or assistance is welcome. If you would like to reach me privately, feel free to PM me. Thanks for reading. submitted by nickfromstatefarm to CarHacking [link] [comments] |

2020.07.08 19:57 neemo98 What is the 59th St area like right now and would it be better to take the train or bus there from Queens?
I have to go to Manhattan after about 3 months and I feel more comfortable taking the Q60 straight to Manhattan since there's probably less people?
At the same time though, the bus ride will be 40 mins, and being in the same place for that long is probably not good, vs. the 20 mins on the R train
Not sure what to do, if anyone has any info, also on 59th st, that would be great

2018.11.13 19:34 hjungj21o ~14k cash in hand. Looking for a sporty DD.
TL;DR - 14k in cash. 3 cars: S2000, GTI mk7, Infiniti Q60. If not out of the three, would love other recos.
Hey /wcsib,
As the title says, I have about 14k in cash to spare on a car and would like to purchase a car. I would rather not stretch my budget and finance a car unless I absolutely need to.
I recently moved from NYC to the NJ suburbs. I have not owned a car in the past decade as I've lived in various large metropolitan cities during that time and instead relied on public transportation or used services like Zipcar and Car2Go. This will be my DD (~10mi/day to and back from the bus station to head into the city, unless I can find a park&ride somewhere nearby) and will also be used in spirited weekend driving.
I've narrowed down to 3 cars. The 3rd choice kind of an outlier but would like to throw it in just because I received such a great deal.
- Honda S2000 - this has been my dream car growing up, so this was immediately on the top of my list.
Pros: that sweet, sweet redline. Some examples can be had for $10k. RWD. Will likely hold its value when I do sell.
Cons: Some cars approaching 20 years. And with it, reliability concerns.
I do not want to buy a clean example as the car will have to be parked on the street. As such, this car will see snow and rain. I'm worried about abuse (tying back to reliability).
Soft top concerns: Unless I buy a hardtop (which will set me back another few grand), people will be ripping up the soft top and will try to rummage through my things. Or they'll just cut it up because they want to.
This would be my first RWD 6MT car. I haven't driven a manual since I was a young teenager, so that's also some years ago.
- VW Mk.7 GTI 6MT - The ultimate DD
Pros: Creature comforts, even at bone stock. Hatchback utility. Back seats (not that I need to use them).
Cons: VW Reliability. I will have to stretch my budget if I want a lower mileage car. I can drop down to mk6 and save some cash but again, VW reliability is a concern.
Resale value.
- 2018 Infinity Q60 (LEASE)
$0 down, $368/mo (10k/39mo)
Pros: New car. Warranty. v6. The only car I've test driven so far. Upscale interior (apart from the infotainment but do not care much). Great-looking exterior. Would be saving the cash to invest elsewhere.
Cons: I'm planning on attending grad school in the next couple of years. I heard the lease transfer is not good with Infinitis. Not a manual. No equity.
I was able to test drive this and while it would be perfect for my DD, I'm not sure if I can justify leasing to do ~10mi/day on weekdays.
I would love to get other recos as well. As you can see, my list is sort of all over the place, but I'd be happy with a 6MT that handles well, can put down some power in the back roads. I've also considered miata and BRZ/FRS.. but for some reason I'm hesitant about those two.
TL;DR - 14k in cash. 3 cars: S2000, GTI mk7, Infiniti Q60. If not out of the three, would love other recos.

2017.11.29 00:48 danielr088 Would it be feasible to have a Q60 SBS along Queens Blvd?
I already posted this in
nyc but thought it would be good to post here too....
I've never actually rode it but it's seems like a super long line from Jamaica to 2nd Av/60th St via Queens Blvd. I think a Q60 SBS would be beneficial because: -it would make only the stops that coincide with the all the local stops along the Queens Blvd Line (from near Jamaica-Van Wyck to Grand Av) then the stops on the 7 line from 46th Bliss to the Queens Plaza area -passengers that use the E/F/M/R (particularly the E and F due to its heavy ridership) would consider using the Q60 SBS as a faster alternative into Manhattan This would thereby lessening ridership from the already packed Queens Blvd trunk subway line. -There's two lanes for one directional traffic on Queens Blvd so I'm sure one could be converted into a bus lane and use the median for the bus stops. The bus lane could stop at some point before LIC where traffic gets heavy -Maybe the possibility of extending (only the SBS) past 60th St/2nd Av down to a crosstown street that covers multiple Manhattan subway lines. An example would be running it along 57th St and making stops at 57th St (F), 57th St-7th Av (N,Q,R,W) and ending near 59th-Columbus (A,B,C,D) This would be so the entire bus doesn't just empty out into Lexington Av-59th St from the last stop at 60th St/2nd Av
Would this be feasible or could there be any alterations to this idea?

2017.02.24 04:48 GoodBoyNYC [Room Share] $900 1Br in Woodside, Queens
Hi I've got 1 rooms for rent in a 3Br apartment on the second for $900 with utilities(FiOS internet, electricity, cooking gas). All the rooms have wired internet to them. The 3rd bedroom is currently empty and just needing a good cleaning before actually listing. The room would be available to move-in as soon as you'd like
Pics of the Room/Apartment Room:
You'd be living along side myself, a 28y/o male, and my dog, Atlas. He's 2yr old border collie-mixed dog in the house. He's all hugs and kisses. I'm fairly easy going. Cook and clean up after myself (I expect the same of others). I vacuum every other day because of my dog. Ideally we'd get a cleaning lady once a bi-weekly to clean the common areas (kitchen, bathroom, living room).
It's located on Laurel Hill Blvd and 63rd St.
- There's a laundromat on the corner of the block.
- A small bar just around the corner.
- Two parks within a block of one another.
- The Q60 bus (to the city) is about 5 min walk away.
- 61st St Train station (7 Local/Express and LIRR) about 15 min walk away.
- ---Nearing the train station you'll find all the restaurants, pharmacies, stores, cafes, etc.
- If you drive both the LIE and BQE are easily accessible.
If you have any questions just ask.

2015.08.11 16:35 Kitsune_Gakuin Summer of Tricot
Hey, Tricot fans. I realized last night that I haven't devoted enough of my time this summer to this incredible band, and in case you haven't either, here's what they've been up to the last few months.
This wasn't quite summer yet, but on May 31st they played what seemed like a very intimate show at The Substation in Singapore.
Bakuretsu Panie San Live at The Substation Niwa Live at The Substation Poolside/Pool Live at The Substation And...
Fun at the park On June 3rd, they made a stop at The Bee in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I couldn't find any full or official videos of this, but here are a bunch of short clips someone took on their phone.
Tricot Live at The Bee On June 5th they played at The Wall in Taiwan.
99.974℃ Live at The Wall On July 6th, they played the Red Bull Bus Tour in Košice, Slovakia. This isn't all Tricot, but there are some good pics here.
Red Bull Bus Tour And here's video of the full performance.
Tricot Red Bull Bus Tour 2015 (Full Concert) On July 9th and 10th, they played the Pohoda Festival in Trenčín, Slovakia.
High Resolution Photos of Tricot at Pohoda 2015 Arriving at the Airport And a couple of videos.
Matsuri Live at Pohoda 2015 Niwa Live at Pohoda 2015 I'm sure there's a lot more that I'm missing, but I'll leave it there for now. As I come across new content, I'll update this post. And feel free to post anything here that you find. They played several other shows across Asia, so I'm sure there must be some other stuff out there. At some point I'll add a master video list to the sidebar so all of their videos are easy to find.
You can also find updates on their
Facebook and
Twitter pages, where they post pretty frequently.
Enjoy!
