So I updated
my myr deck. It's perhaps not the most competitive deck there is, but I've played it a couple of times already and it's fun. This is a deck that likes to grow horizontally and has one major wincon (Simic Ascendancy) and a minor one (Lux Artillery).
The ideal first hand should have 3 lands, Darksteel Forge, Unwinding Clock, a random Myr, and Lux Artilley or Simic Ascendancy.
Some other good cards to have are Deepglow Skate, Springleaf Drum, Myr Turbine, Genesis Chamber and Myr Reservoir.
Cloud Key and Herald's Horn will help you have cheaper myrs. So would Urza's incubator, but it's too expensive.
Chormatic Star, Chromatic Sphere, Herald's Horn, Mystic Forge will help you draw cards. So will, to a lesser extent, the second ability of Myr Reservoir.
Get as many artifact lands as possible in the battleground, as well as the Draksteel Forge to protect the future artifacts you'll be playing. Play Genesis Chamber as soon as possible, and then Urtet. You will generate 1 Myr token. Then, play a single Myr and generate two extra tokens, one from Urtet, one from the chamber, for a total of Urtet, the extra myr, and three tokens.
Wait one turn (or equip Urtet with some haste) and play Simic Ascendancy. Activate Urtet's ability each turn taking advantage of the Unwinding Clock. You just need to do this twice and you'll have already 30 individual +1/+1 counters, and 30 growth counter on Simic Ascendancy. Your turns come, and before you can blink, you have just won!
If you don't like this strategy, or the other players somehow remove your Simic Ascendancy, you still have the
power of friendship Lux Artillery and a bunch of guys. Even without our powerful cannon, with just the artifact lands, the clock and Urtet, you can be piling 9x 1+/+1 counters on your myrs each round.

2023.03.24 12:00 RemedyForSanity Returning Light
Okay so I got myself back into Destiny 2 after a considerably long hiatus (Let's just say the last time I played, I was given a very important Hand Cannon from an "Old Friend" after his mission ended), and by God has the entire star map changed! I'm looking for suggestions that I might start into without having any of the dlcs yet? Or just new points of interest, modes, etc. I feel very lost, as I should be lol

I am no longer entertaining joy riders so I prefer you give $3 in items when u add me as deposit.
Those $3 will be subtracted from you're total sets cost.
Don't add me if you don't like the prices.
- prices are subject to change.*
- sets may go out of stock even if you're waiting for one if someone else buys it before you.*
*if you don't reserve the sets.

Why me?
Best Selling Deals:
- Do not comment on my steam profile. Just pm me on reddit and give your steam link. I disable new comments in profile because some scammers adds to all who send comments.
- I am no longer entertaining joy riders so 20% reserve fee(but 3$ min) required at the time of reserving cache sets. It will be subtracted from the total cost. If you decide to retract your reservation, there will be no refunds.
- We need to be friends for at least 30 days to be able to send the item/set as a gift. Buyer always goes first and i take only crypto or skins as payment.

2023.03.24 08:01 mfc314 My Hero of the Hall run, 8/18: Flying
| In which I learn how BUSTED Ho-oh is. The sets: Pidgeot @ Pidgeotite Ability: Tangled Feet EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe - Hurricane - Hyper Beam - Heat Wave - U-turn Mega Pidgeot is something I've always been curious to use. Now I get the chance, and it worked pretty nicely. If only it got Focus Blast. Ho-Oh @ Leftovers Ability: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def - Brave Bird - Sacred Fire - Earthquake - Roost The star of the show. Easily the most overpowered a single Pokémon has felt in one of these runs. It just does. Not. Die. It can come in on practically any hit, do big damage, and switch out, and Lefties + Regen cancels out any damage it might have sustained. Absolute unit. Hawlucha @ Flying Gem Ability: Unburden EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe - Acrobatics - High Jump Kick - Poison Jab - Encore So apparently Gems don't get returned after battle. That sucks, Flying Gem Acrobatics would be so much more viable if I didn't have to replace the gem every time. Vivillon-Pokeball @ Focus Sash Ability: Compound Eyes EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe - Hurricane - Bug Buzz - Sleep Powder - Quiver Dance This is the one you get for completing Butterfly Effect. Believe it or not, it actually worked pretty well, especially with Compound Eyes Sleep Powder. Unfortunately, the E4 isn't too conducive to setup strategies, so I wasn't able to unlock its full potential. Noivern @ Choice Specs Ability: Sound Waves EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe - Air Slash - Dragon Pulse - Boomburst - Flamethrower Another member from the main team. It always felt weird that Noivern didn't have an ability to boost sound moves in the regular game. Celesteela @ Rocky Helmet Ability: Beast Boost EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD - Air Slash - Flash Cannon - Flamethrower - Leech Seed Another absolute unit. For such a defensively oriented Pokémon, it has deceptively good offenses, which I took full advantage of. submitted by mfc314 to PokemonUnbound [link] [comments] |

2023.03.24 04:11 Voltes-Drifter-2187 My second idea for a Gundam show - Mobile Suit Gundam: Castaway Souls (Part 2)
1) AUBREY ZULEGER (ズレガー オーブリー) ♀ - Age: 17. Height: 5'. Hair: Black. Eyes: Dark Hazel. Pilot of the RX-2000-A Valkyrie Yulong: the Pink Gundam of Spectrum. Born out of a high school fling as the middle of three sisters, Aubrey has gone through life with few if any people to turn to. Due to incidents and demonstrations of her Newtype abilities coming out when she is placed in situations of stress, her own birth father sees her as a curse. Used as the scapegoat for her mother, sisters and step-father; Aubrey made few friends going through public secondary high school. Abused much of her life, Aubrey sees in the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force a ticket to either a better life or a glorious death that will end her pain. When she is caught in the Imperium attack on her moon of Titan, Aubrey escapes in a Gundam which takes her on an adventure of self-discovery and building a better family.
2) ERICA AZRAEL (アズラーイール エリカ) ♀ - Age: 28. Height: 6'4". Hair: Dark Ginger. Eyes: Green. Pilot of the RX-2000-X Helios: the Orange Gundam of Space. Erica is a Newtype who has served in the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force with distinction from when she enlisted at the age of 18 and received her officers' commission at 23. Appointed as one of the Co-Wing Leaders of Solar Wing alongside Sierra Chay, Erica may seem rowdy and loud in fighting the CDEF battles - even being a hard-partying and drinking lady eager to score with the male and female species alike. But underneath that exterior is a warm and caring woman who sees fellow Newtypes as the family she must protect and will lay down the law if anyone goes too far or has a problem with someone else. Upon seeing what should be one of her own Gundams piloted by Aubrey, she seeks to draft the latter and get her the help she truly needs.
3) GABRIELA TULPER (トゥルパー ガブリエラ) ♀ - Age: 18. Height: 5'8". Hair: Brown. Eyes: Blue. Pilot of the RX-2000-1 Mercury: the Blue Gundam of Water. Gabriela is a rich noble of the Mercury colony of Narada that saw her home destroyed when the Imperium launched an attack on Narada. She joined the Solar Wing of CDEF in their liberation of Narada to help free her home world from the Imperium. She admires Erica and quickly develops a muted dislike of Aubrey due to their like minds and Aubrey's self-destructive outlook. Her dislike eventually turns to full-blown jealousy as she challenges Aubrey to a duel. Eventually, she realizes that Aubrey could be her best comrade but she'll will make constant attempts to win both Erica and Sierra's favor every so often. Gabriela often makes great efforts to appear smarter whilst closing herself off from others out of fear of rejection, but wishes she could be a good doctor.
4) MIO NGUYEN (グエン 澪) ♂ - Age: 13. Height: 4'8". Hair: Black. Eyes: Brown. Pilot of the RX-2000-B D'Artagnan Wukong: the Ruby Gundam of Anima. Like the young Sun Wukong as seen in
Journey to the West; the Newtype known as Mio is headstrong/impulsive, agile to an insane degree, and has a penchant for not respecting authority figures who have not earned a right to wield such authority in his eyes. And like D'Artagnan in
The Three Musketeers; Mio is also very romantic, not very smart in terms of the literary-minded, and eagerly jumps into all manner of danger to help those truly in need. At first unable to comprehend how a talented and capable woman like Aubrey could ever need help, Mio soon sees himself being drawn into Aubrey's world fighting against Callisto forces. Hailing from the wrecked Neo Gascony colony on Ceres, he is the first boy Aubrey takes under her wing to gain her first apprentice.
5) IRIS MOREAU (モロー アイリス) ♀ - Age: 27. Height: 5'8". Hair: Blonde. Eyes: Blue. Pilot of the RX-2000-2 Venus: the Yellow Gundam of Light. Back in her civilian life, she tries to do the best she can to help friends in need, but sometimes a disaster gear kicks in way too early. Iris is also infamous for using mixed-up proverbs and officially refers to herself as "Goddess of Love," a title which she uses to try to solve others' love woes. However; she is loyal and caring to a fault for as a fellow Newtype, she wears her heart on her sleeve and sees Aubrey for what she is and can be - a true friend. She's the joker of Solar Wing out of and sometimes in combat. She may take her duties seriously, but for the rest of the time, Iris prefers to spend her time goofing off, cracking jokes, pulling pranks, seeking thrills and just living life up. But if the chips are down, Iris is ruthless when protecting Aubrey from all bullies and the Imperium.
6) KAI PARRISH (パリッシュ 海) ♀ - Age: 19. Height: 5'8". Hair: Brown. Eyes: Brown. Pilot of the RX-2000-3 Terra: the Brown Gundam of Earth. Honest and truthful in showing potential as a leader, Kai was brought up in Midwestern America on the Cherokee reservations by her parents who were equally as doting and permissive as they were firm and involved when they needed to be, so Kai can be powerful in battle and is ever courageous. Many might take her her not being a completely idealized feminine heroine as denial of someone's wish fulfillment and invite scorn, but Kai is out to show them wrong with skill in piloting the Terra Gundam as third-in-command of Solar Wing. Kai is the individualist Newtype and freedom-loving - one who cares about getting time over to do the things she wants to do. But she still gets along very well with all of Solar Wing, and she will always play her part well when it really matters.
7) SIERRA CHAY (シェイ シエラ) ♀ - Age: 28. Height: 6'4". Hair: Violet. Eyes: Green. Pilot of the RX-2000-XI Luna: the White Gundam of Electricity. Sierra is also a top Newtype in the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force all with distinction from when she enlisted at the tender age of 18 and received her officers' commission at 23. Appointed as one of the Co-Wing Leaders of the Solar Wing alongside Erica Azrael, Sierra may seem dispassionate and or quiet in her preferred duties - even being more comfortable with home front activities and the day-to-day administration. But underneath her icy exterior is a fierce and driven woman who sees fellow Newtypes as the family she must protect and will lay down the law if anyone goes too far or has a problem with someone else. Unlike Erica who sees a great potential for Aubrey in flying a Gundam, Sierra sees Aubrey's self-destructive nature as the liability it is.
8) FLASH VAN WARREN (ヴァンウォーレン フラッシュ) ♂ - Age: 14. Height: 4'9.5". Hair: Blonde. Eyes: Blue. Pilot of the RX-2000-E Athos Tripitaka: the Amber Gundam of Soul. Like the young Tripitaka as seen in the
Journey to the West; the Newtype known as Flash is rather reserved and devoted to not sullying himself with physical relationships, more of their long-range tactician, and has a knack for getting himself into trouble which the others have to bail him out of. And like Athos in
The Three Musketeers; Flash is also protective of children, not very emotive and taciturn in handling his fellow pilgrims, and more melancholy than others in trying to come to terms with the loss of his family and some friends to the Imperium. At first unable to comprehend how a talented and driven woman like Aubrey could ever need help, Flash soon sees himself being drawn into Aubrey's world in fleeing Vestia's Neo Perth.
9) MIYOSHI KUGA (久我 三好) ♀ - Age: 26. Height: 5'8". Hair: Black. Eyes: Violet. Pilot of the RX-2000-4 Mars: the Red Gundam of Fire. Miyoshi has a bit of a bad temper, but she is a true friend to all on the inside once you get to know her better. Before joining CDEF, she had her job as a shrine maiden at the local Shinto Temple in Neo Osaka around Mars where she lived and may sometime go back to visit, and that is where she learned to channel herself and her Newtype abilities into the psychic world and the psychic into her fire. For all of their fights every so often as friends do, Miyoshi would actually prefer her friends and potential suitors to be more vulnerable as well as open about their emotions - as such, Kai and Aubrey are the golden standard by which she measures any potential new acquaintances. As a top member of Solar Wing and finding her connection to the Mars Gundam, Miyoshi is out to find her way.
10) NADIRA MULLER (ミュラー ナディラ) ♀ - Age: 20. Height: 5'8". Hair: Black. Eyes: Green. Pilot of the RX-2000-5 Jupiter: the Green Gundam of Forest. Being the resident tough girl of Solar Wing who hails from the Neo Zanzibar colony on Ganymede, many people feared her, but Nadira doesn't feel alone, as her squadron mates are always there, even when she is in a bad mood. She also practices judo and karate to keep up her fitness levels as well as serve as therapist for the others. Despite her tomboyish exterior, Nadira is a sweet person who enjoys cooking, gardening, flower arranging and handicrafts; and she dreams of getting married and owning a combined floral bakery shop. Her green thumb and Newtype abilities of hers make her perfect to pilot the Jupiter Gundam. Whenever Aubrey is getting involved with the Solar Wing, Nadira's motherly side comes out as the two become rather protective of each other.
11) SAMARA FORESTER (フォレスター サマラ) ♀ - Age: 25. Height: 5'8". Hair: Blonde. Eyes: Green. Pilot of the RX-2000-6 Saturn: the Purple Gundam of Shadow. Showing attitude and a thirst for battle, there are signs not all is right with her and she might be developing some form of Newtype PTSD. She has been consumed by battle ever since her brothers and sisters were seriously injured in the attacks on the Neo Burlington colony of Enceladus, constantly pushing things well beyond her physical limits and has a tendency to lose self-control when the battle goes against Solar Wing. The Saturn Gundam must have reached out to her via her vast Newtype abilities to give her an outlet to express herself. But when Aubrey is involved in the affairs of Solar Wing, Samara gets the mirror reflection of herself and she sees that what Aubrey and she have in common could get them both killed - and fear it boiling over into war.
12) VINCE COLEMAN (コールマン ヴィンス) ♂ - Age: 16. Height: 5'1.5". Hair: Black. Eyes: Green. Pilot of the RX-2000-C Porthos Wujing: the Emerald Gundam of Gravity. Like the tall Sha Wujing as seen in the
Journey to the West; the Newtype known as Vince is powerful and yet loyal to all his friends while even having a penchant for light humor to make situations bearable, a friend to all children, and is more of a father to everyone around them than their own dads. And just as with Porthos in
The Three Musketeers; Vince is also the ever rollicking, romantic life of the party. Even as a strong African-American young man, he is the rare manic pixie dream guy of being a Newtype who is a "gentle guy" to Aubrey's "broken babe". Some are resigned to or refuse the call to adventure, but the hometown boy of Neo Harlem, Pallas is one who actively sought out the call in hopes of finding friends who share in his passions.
13) TANYA KRIKALEV (クリカレフ ターニャ) ♀ - Age: 24. Height: 5'8". Hair: Gainsboro. Eyes: Green. Pilot of the RX-2000-7 Uranus: the Black Gundam of Sky. When the Imperium struck against Neo Leningrad on Oberon, Tanya was separated from both her parents but maintains hope that they are still alive on Oberon and someday they'll be reunited. Because of her lack of contact with the rest of the Wing, she is only really close to Erica and Sierra although her compassionate and submissive personality means she's kind and accepting of everybody in or affiliated with Solar Wing. Her dreams of the sky and ability to read the cosmic winds makes her the prime candidate for the Newtype pilot of the Uranus Gundam. Whenever Tanya finds Aubrey getting involved with Solar Wing and bringing Pilgrim Squadron with her, she finds a crush for her in Flash as well as the chance to be the big sister Aubrey never had growing up.
14) LILLIAN ROBLEDO (ロブレド リリアン) ♀ - Age: 21. Height: 5'8". Hair: Brown. Eyes: Red. Pilot of the RX-2000-8 Neptune: the Silver Gundam of Ocean. Hailing from the Earth colony of Neo Santiago on Triton, Lillian's family are miners who make a living converting the frozen icy surface of the moon into water and ammonia. Curious as to where the water is supposed to go, Lillian finds herself drawn to the seas and able to manipulate water around her with a set of Newtype abilities she is discovering for herself. This makes her the prime candidate for piloting the Neptune Gundam for Solar Wing. Unlike Tanya who is shyer and conventionally more feminine than her; the more tomboyish Lillian can be full of energy, jumps around a lot, and speaks in a sing-songy voice. Eager to show off and enjoy the finer things life has to offer, Lillian sees her own sister in Aubrey and strives to thaw a frozen heart with some patience.
15) REEMA AL-YASIN (ヤッセン リマ) ♀ - Age: 22. Height: 5'8". Hair: Black. Eyes: Blue. Pilot of the RX-2000-9 Pluto: the Gold Gundam of Time. The Neo Riyadh colony on Charon is one of the first targets of the Imperium of Callisto's operations - especially for raw materials to be used in building their war machine to secure supremacy in the Solar System. Reema is now an orphan due to the Imperium crashing the Kerberos VII colony into Charon, and barely escaped with her life due to manifesting Newtype abilities of shifting herself and others both forward and backward in time. Found and chosen by the Pluto Gundam, Reema has a grudge against the primarily Aryan (tall, slender, fair-skinned, blue-eyed, blonde) members of all the Imperium - especially Maxx Zaldivar. Being rehabilitated alongside Aubrey into Solar Wing is no small feat, but Reema finds a support network in them as she discovers her own person.
16) ULF SOLBERG (ソルベルグ ウルフ) ♂ - Age: 15. Height: 4'11.5". Hair: Brown. Eyes: Blue. Pilot of the RX-2000-D Arimos Bajie: the Sapphire Gundam of Illusion. Like the younger Zhu Bajie as seen in
Journey to the West; the Newtype known as Ulf is smart and something of a warrior poet while even having a penchant for rather vulgar humor to make their situations bearable, and tries to be a hit with the ladies while treating them with respect. And as with Arimos in
The Three Musketeers; Ulf is also the dependable one for common sense as well as coming up with inventions alongside his crush Gabriela. Even as the intelligent Scandinavian young man he is, Ulf at first is reluctant to be paired with Pilgrim Squadron. But after a strike by the Imperium forces against his colony Neo Stockholm on Juno, he has little elsewhere to go for support. Freed from obligations, Ulf commits to being the best brother for Aubrey.
MECHA/ARSENAL 1) RX-2000 VALKYRIE GUNDAM-TYPE MOBILE SUIT - Height: 21.7 meters. Fighting Weight: 32.2 metric tons. Power Plant: Minovsky-Ionesco Ultracompact Fusion Reactor. Raw Power Output: 3500 kilowatts. Sensor Range: 22K Meters. Weapon(s): 2x Beam Sabers, 1x Shield, 1x Hyper Bazooka and 1x Beam Rifle. Designed and built by Yatate Enterprises especially for the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force, the Valkyrie Gundams are made to last while also serving as the expression of Newtypes in CDEF. Each colored Gundam represents a very specific element or power that a space body is emblematic of. En route to a CDEF dedication ceremony on Titan, their CDEF carrier is attacked and the pink Valkyrie Yulong Gundam falls into the possession of Aubrey Zuleger. She fights off an Imperium attack and escapes in the Gundam looking for sanctuary. All sixteen of the Gundams are the heroes of this Solar War.
2) CVABB-79
OLYMPUS - Height: 200 meters. Length: 600 meters. Beam: 400 meters. Total Wingspan: 200 meters. Fighting Weight: 47000 metric tons. Power Plant: Minovsky-Ionesco Fusion Reactor. Top Speed: 25000 kilometers an hour. Propulsion: 13x Thermonuclear Rocket Jet Engines. Class:
Pantheon-class Assault Carrier Battleship. Weapon(s): 5x 3-barrel Primary Shock Cannons, 2x twin Mega Particle Cannons, 8x 4-tube Fore Missile Launchers, 1x 4-tube Aft Missile Launcher, 22x twin Anti-Aircraft Guns. Designed and built by Tomino Aeronautics Engineering for the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force, the United Solar Vessel (USV)
Olympus serves as home for both Solar Wing and Pilgrim Squadron in all their tours of duty across the Solar System. Able to house multiple Core Fighters and Mobile Weapons, the Olympus is always a welcome sight and a defender of all that our heroes are fighting to save.
3) RX-1991 CORSAIR GUNCANNON-TYPE MOBILE SUIT - Height: 18.75 meters. Fighting Weight: 60.5 metric tons. Power Plant: Minovsky-Ionesco Ultracompact Fusion Reactor. Raw Power Output: 1400 kilowatts. Sensor Range: 20K Meters. Weapon(s): 2x 240mm Cannons, 1x Hyper Bazooka and 1x Beam Rifle. Designed and built by Yatate Enterprises especially for the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force, the Corsair Guncannons are meant to be a middle-range support mobile suit to complement both the RX-2000 Valkyrie Gundams and the RX-1961 Taurus Guntanks in their ground operations. Serving mainly as CDEF's primary artillery unit, the Corsair's design prioritizes durability over mobility and precludes the use of melee weapons. While it is less agile and mobile than a Gundam, a Guncannon is still useful with its pair of shell-firing cannons that can penetrate heavy armor of any Imperium forces.
4) SF-XV CORE BLOCK FIGHTER - Height: 3.38 Meters. Length: 8.75 Meters. Wingspan: 7.25 Meters. Weight: 9 metric tons. Power Plant: Nuclear Fusion Generator. Speed: 6K kilometers per hour (in space)/4K kilometers per hour (in planetary atmospheres). Weapon(s): 4x 25mm Vulcan Guns and 2x 4-shot Anti-Ship Missile Launchers. Designed and mass-produced by one United Solar Alliance specifically for the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force, the Core Block Fighter makes up the spear of CDEF's aerospace superiority forces. Originally seen in development as a cockpit capsule that also served as an escape mechanism, United Solar Alliance sought to capitalize on the further development of Yatate Enterprises' mobile suits by creating a Core Block System that turns the fighter into an augmented core and cockpit for mobile weapons such as the RGM-1976 Spartan, RX-1982 Taurus and RX-1991 Corsair.
5) RGM-1976 SPARTAN GM-TYPE MOBILE SUIT - Height: 18.5 Meters. Fighting Weight: 50.5 metric tons. Power Plant: Minovsky-Ionesco Ultracompact Fusion Reactor. Power Output: 1300 kilowatts. Sensor Range: 6K Meters. Weapon(s): 60mm Vulcan Gun, 2x Beam Sabers, 1x Shield, 1x Hyper Bazooka and 1x Beam Rifle. Designed and soon mass-produced by Yatate Enterprises specifically for the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force, the Spartan GM is the most common form of mobile suit used by CDEF rank and file. Its standard frame is readily adaptable to every manner of modification into mission-specific Spartan models, and holds a fairly high level of mobility, for the time, both on Earth and in space. Many Spartans are used as trainer crafts for Mobile Suit pilots, which make it easier for non-Newtype CDEF officers to join the fray. But their lighter titanium armor is less durable than the Gundams.
6) RX-1961 TAURUS GUNTANK-TYPE MOBILE SUIT - Height: 15.3 Meters. Fighting Weight: 68 metric tons. Power Plant: Minovsky-Ionesco Ultracompact Fusion Reactor. Power Output: 900 kilowatts. Sensor Range: 6K Meters. Weapon(s): 2x 120mm Low-Recoil Cannons and 2x 4-tube 40mm Arm Missile Launchers. Designed and built by Yatate Enterprises especially for the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force, the Taurus Guntanks possess the torso and arms of a mobile suit, but use caterpillar treads for their legs. Serving as CDEF's ground superiority units, the Taurus' design prioritizes durability over mobility and precludes the use of melee weapons. While it is less agile and mobile than other mobile suits, a Guntank is still useful with its array of shell-firing cannons that can penetrate heavy armor of any Imperium forces. Many are designed around a crew complement of a primary drivepilot and gunner.
7) CMS-07 SOMU-TYPE MOBILE SUIT - Height: 18.45 Meters. Fighting Weight: 67.5 metric tons. Power Plant: Minovsky-Ionesco Ultracompact Fusion Reactor. Raw Power Output: 1100 kilowatts. Sensor Range: 4K Meters. Weapon(s): 1x Shield, 1x 105mm Callisto Machine Gun, 1x Callisto Hyper Bazooka and 1x Heat Sword. The mainstay of the Imperium of Callisto; the Somu-type Mobile Suit is faster, more durable and versatile than a great many of its forbears in CDEF in spite of their vast numbers contributing to their disposable nature. Many high-ranking commanders in Callisto forces use custom-painted and custom-armed variants as an expression of storied victories over many adversaries like Maxx Zaldivar's Crimson Serpent. Curiously, Aubrey's secret Newtype benefactor pilots his own modified Somu with its Beam Sword in a striking color scheme that allows for infiltration of Callisto ranks and sabotage.
PRIMARY ANTAGONISTS - IMPERIUM OF CALLISTO (カリストの帝国) 1) IMPERATOR PIETRO VON VIDMAR (皇帝 ピエトロ フォン ヴィドマー) ♂ - Age: 35. Total Height: 6'3.5". Hair: Silver. Eyes: Blue. In short and at most charitable, Pietro is best described as ambitious, underhanded, overconfident, and a feared motivator. As the essential leader of Callisto, Pietro belittles the dwindling power of his siblings and continuously schemes to turn the Solar War into a total war. He and his siblings Elise and Tobias are constantly at odds with each other as the three possess similar political goals but different methods with some of the rank and file pushing to fall behind Maxx Zaldivar. Over the course of the War as both Solar Wing and Pilgrim Squadron inflict devastating losses on Callisto forces, Pietro expects he will be betrayed and schemes to find the Newtype Gundam pilot Aubrey Zuleger so his forces break her. Even so, he'll have to get past Zaldivar's own obsession with the CDEF's rising star.
2) MAXX ZALDIVAR (ザルディバー マックス) ♂ - Age: 21. Height: 5'10". Hair: Blonde. Eyes: Blue. Pilot of the Custom CMS-07 Somu-type Mobile Suit "Crimson Serpent". Maxx is always seen dressed in his red Callisto uniform and mostly wears a Callisto commander helmet with goggles to conceal his real identity. Maxx's personality is a mix of passion, charisma, pride, vengefulness and charm. Perhaps his most dominant characteristic is charisma, which makes him a genuine leader. Maxx’s skill as a pilot combined with his charisma cause many people to respect and willingly follow his command, while instilling fear in his opponents. A rival for dominant characteristic is Maxx's tendency to hold deep grudges - such as towards Callisto's Imperator Von Vidmar for the slaughter of his family and friends, as well as both Tobias and Aubrey Zuleger for their defeats of him in Mobile Suit combat throughout the ongoing War.
3) ELISE VON VIDMAR (エリーゼ フォン ヴィドマー) ♀ - Age: 25. Height: 5'8". Hair: Red. Eyes: Green. Pilot of the Custom CMS-07 Somu-type Mobile Suit "Verde Eagle". Elise is seen dressed in a green Callisto uniform and also wears a Callisto commander helmet with goggles to show her identification with some of Maxx Zaldivar's ideals. Elise had both political and military ambitions at a young age and will try to establish military and political channels both on her own and with her brother Tobias in order to compete with their elder brother Pietro over who should have the right to rule the Solar System if Callisto is victorious. Using Mobile Suits and Newtypes to her advantage as Maxx suggests, Elise is playing her elder brother into a trap for him to fail and her to become the new Imperator. That is not to say she lacks traits that aren't admirable. She's been known to be heartfelt and honest with troops she will lead.
4) ILHAN ILSUNG (イルハン イルソン) ♂ - Age: 35. Height: 6'2". Hair: Brown. Eyes: Brown. Commanding Officer of the Callisto Imperium's Flagship Mobile Suit Carrier
Babylon, Pilot of the Custom CMS-07 Somu-type Mobile Suit "Silver Bullet". Ilhan is sometimes seen dressed in a yellow Callisto uniform and wears a Callisto commander helmet with goggles to show his identification with some of Maxx Zaldivar's ideals. Having seen the Von Vidmar patriarchy's cruelty firsthand in the assassination of Callisto Zaldivar, Ilhan and his wife Xenia Sutherland smuggled young Maxx to freedom and trained him in piloting Mobile Suits while giving him a good education so he could avenge his family against Imperator Pietro. An experienced agent and officer, Ilhan never has a foul mood towards any of the men serving under him so long as a code of ethics he instills is followed. He only fights so Callisto colonies can live in freedom.
5) TOBIAS VON VIDMAR (トビアス フォン ヴィドマー) ♂ - Age: 21. Hair: Brown. Eyes: Blue. Pilot of the Custom CMS-07 Somu-type Mobile Suit "Azure Ghost". Tobias is sometimes seen outfitted in his blue Callisto uniform and wears a Callisto commander helmet with goggles to show his identification with some of Maxx Zaldivar's ideals. Among one of the more moral and nobler members of the Callisto Imperium, Tobias is shrewd enough to ally with his sister Elise and Maxx Zaldivar against their brother Pietro. On the other hand, he is young and very beautiful in a feminine way which makes him both the envy and goal of every female officer in the Callisto Imperial Military. He is one of the few who shows equal respect to each of his officers be they normal or Newtype. Very few in the Imperium know that Tobias is in fact the mysterious benefactor who has been watching out for Aubrey since they were little kids.

FINALE MOVIE (Sixteen Strode Into Glory) Little do Pilgrim Squadron, Solar Wing or the Commonwealth Defense and Exploration Force know that Pietro Von Vidmar survived the assassination attempt against him. Pietro finds his mighty Imperium of Callisto falling due to Newtypes and ordinary humans finally combining into an alliance to destroy his pure Universe. Pilgrim Squadron and Solar Wing fly into battle one more time alongside Tobias and Elise to stop Pietro from crashing the new Neo Shinjuku colony into Earth. This main story is both book-ended and interrupted by a future plot which involves Solar Wing and Pilgrim Squadron's members and their families catching back up on the old days with an older Aubrey, her children and grandchildren. The older Aubrey is lucky to be by her friends' sides again ever since Tobias died in the last battle. Now, Aubrey too has to set her final affairs in order having risen above her abusive childhood to gain a happier life.

2023.03.24 03:09 Muddymudkip44 Okay this is about the Bonds between times Yugioh movie
So in the movie, if you have not seen it go watch it, Yusi Fudo (5ds) was challenged to a turbo duel against masked stranger later to be named Paradox who is from the future, Paradox through the power of science or magic stole Yusi’s star dust dragon. Paradox after steeling the dragon goes back further in time to the time of GX and stole two other powerful dragons. Jaden Yuki the protagonist of GX was going to recover the two stolen cards cyber end dragon and rainbow dragon, yes I know cyber end dragon is not a dragon. Yusi through the power of the crimson dragon went back in time to save Jaden because Paradox can make the monsters real. After Jaden was saved by Yusi, they talked and found out Maximilian pegasus was killed by who other then Paradox, in the original Yu-Gi-Oh! timeline which in turn it erasing, GX and 5ds time lines so the hop back to Ygo and find a distressed Yugi Moto, because Paradox used to the stolen dragons to blow up the city which killed a ton of people, including Yugi’s grandfather and again Pegasus. So the three of them hopped back in time before the attack occurred and scared the people off. The three protagonist then battle Paradox and they win. Now where was I going with this, well in all the time traveling has anyone ever thought that there are now two Yugis and there for two millennium puzzles meeting two pharaohs inside the puzzle. So where did the second Yugi go! Because I know he would not want to go back to the timeline where his grandfather died, and before all of you say there are not two Yugis team protagonist went back in time to scare everyone off, including Yugi and his grandfather, so there is a paradox Yugi living some where in the Yugioh timeline but where, and this is cannon to the main 5Ds timeline. After GX and somewhere sprinkled in the original.

2023.03.24 00:02 Raven___ I submitted this idea on spectrum but thought I'd post here as well, so thoughts?
In light of the very cool new
Inside Star Citizen on tractor beams and component/weapon swapping. The swapping shown with the tractor beam is very cool and the button in the ship to unlock/lock the components to prevent theft is good, but I feel like specifically with swapping the weapons it lacks both the tactility and additional security that components have(Components need both the cockpit button pressed and button at the component to expose it).
With regard to security, if you had components unlocked so you swap out a shield generator someone could easily run up and steal your size 2 laser cannon and make off with it before you notice, hell it could be 2 thieves on a dragonfly do a drive-by theft, with the rear dragonfly passenger just yoink off your bulldog repeater with his multitool and never stop moving.
With regard to tactility, components/weapons are by far the most important/expensive part of your ship and swapping them out is and should be very important/monumental it's why it so cool and exciting when you push that button and panels retract and things slide and move to expose your components to then change them. Simply just pushing a non-existant button in you cockpit then removing your main weapon as quickly and effortlessly as the Inside Star Citizen video showed makes the act of salvaging/swapping out that weapon have a far smaller sense of importance/achievement.
My suggestion is that similar to components, each weapon itself would have a physical button on it you would have to press in addition to the cockpit unlock button, that weapon button would then unlock that specific weapon before it could be removed, and it could be as simple as just making a metallic shunting sound(Like a heavy deadbolt moving) or have a more complex animation(but I think just a sound effect would be fine). Then once a new weapon is attached a similar sound effect could play to demonstrate the new weapon is locked in and part of your ship.
This way it would be more difficult for would-be thieves(assuming cockpit button is unlocked for whatever reason) to steal random ship weapons as they would need to physically be in touching distance of it before using a tractor beam. For weapon swapping/salvage I think it would also help to maintain that sense of gravitas to the process as it then actually feels like your are removing this big heavy weapon that is connected into your ship by clamps/energy cables/ammo belt feeds because the video really did make it seem like just nothing was holding that weapon to your ship.
Addendum - This suggestion is only for ship weapons, I think components are fine and missiles are basically just ammo so they don't need any changes/additions from what was shown in the video either.

2023.03.23 23:55 VICXIII I've done and fuck up! Chapter 43 part 1
Discord had some tech problems posting this chapter, but I finally was able to post it. Now I want to give thanks to Killian and Mac from my discord for their help in editing and grammar errors. Now back to the show.
One by one, every recon team member enters the
Transport. Taking a seat, Gabriel sat facing the back of the Transport. Yoremedia and her Team sat on a row of seats to Gabriel's left. She noticed something off about him. His legs were spread wide, and his elbows rested on his knees. His eyes were focused on the back of the Transport as if he was in a trance. She was about to say something when her litter sister, Vijatà, smacked her on the shoulder. Yoremedia turns her head and, with annoyance, stares at her younger litter sister. Vijatà, on the other paws, had a massive grin on her face.
“Were you just checking out the Champion’s cannon?”
Vijatà asks with smugness in her voice. Yoremedia was confused as to what her litter sister was talking about. To Vijatà, Yoremedia’s confused look was a form of playing ignorance. A laugh escapes her lips, and her boisterous voice gets the attention of those around her.
“I knew you had it in you, Sis! No female could resist that beast resting inside the Champion’s pants! Like, you can even see the veins being traced by the tightness of his armor! Mmmm, so nice.”
Those taking a seat froze halfway when they heard Vijatà's loud voice. No one moved. Even the pilot, who was finishing the pre-fly check, also froze. Yoremedia and Vijatà stare at each other, one with a wide grin that looks like it would fall off her face. The other one had her jaw open, looking ready to go through Transport’s floor. They stared like that for minutes until a massive boom echoed throughout the Transport, and Vijatà's painful cries united with the enormous bang. Behind Vijatà stood Valè, whose lilac color scales and bioluminescent had turned to a deep crimson color as if she had bathed in blood.
“Sit the fuck down, Vijatà! And stay there! So, help me, by our Divine Goddesses! If you utter another word while we travel, I will have you demoted and on cleaning duty for the rest of your life! Think for a fucking second with your brain, not your twat! That is a Champion you are talking about. You damn brainless idiot!”
Vijatà held the back of her head, and a bump began to form. The young Tubinestian female violently turns her head around and stares daggers into her older litter sister. It was clear that Vijatà wanted to retort, but the intense rage filling Valè’s eyes made her reconsider. Seeing her younger litter sister finally using her brain instead of what she had between her legs, Valè turned to Champion Gab`riel and spoke.
“Champion, I am sorry for my Team member's action. I hope you have not taken her words to heart. She is young and has yet to learn how to interact with a male properly.”
Valè spoke with an apologetic and sincere tone. Everyone was now gazing at the Champion, who only stared at the back of the Transport. The only two other males inside the Transport knew the look the Champion was displaying, pure annoyance. Ùzonal and Bla`ol, alongside every male in the galaxy, knew how it felt to receive unwanted approaches or remarks from a female. Comments such as the one Vijatà made were so common that many females would receive a blast of Essence to the face before they could finish their sentence. Sighing, both Ùzonal and Bla`ol began to get up from their chair. The Champion needed comforting words from a fellow male. They needed to stick together, or else the females would get out of paw. As they got up, the Transport began to shake, surprising everyone.
“What in the Eight Agony plains is going on!?”
Screams the pilot over the Comms. Everyone in the back of the Transport was rocked back and forth, and thousands of scenarios ran through everyone's mind. Did the approaching battalion of the unknown begin attacking? Was the massive branch they found themselves on finally giving out? Everyone's training started to kick into gear, and they began to prepare for the worst when they heard the screams of Yoremedia.
“Gab`riel, you need to stop!”
Everyone turns and sees the Champion tapping his right foot up and down extremely fast. The force of his foot tapping was the cause of Transport's now violent shaking.
“Gab`riel, stop!”
Yoremedia screamed while she placed her left paw on Gabriel’s left shoulder. Gabriel’s right foot stops, and he turns his attention to Yoremedia.
“Oh hey, Yoremedia, did you say something?”
The Transport slowly stopped rocking. Everyone now had their eyes locked on Gabriel. Even the pilot had come down to check on what was going on.
“Gab`riel, are you ok?”
Yoremedia asked with concern. Gabriel looked at her puzzled, and a second later, realization hit him. Exhaling, he spoke.
“I…I just don’t like enclosed spaces. How soon are we heading out?”
Yoremedia’s eyes widened, and she understood Gab`riel’s odd behavior when he sat down. Turning her gaze to the display on her armor forearm, she began to contact the pilot. The familiar sound of Comms rings behind her, turning around. Yoremedia sees the pilot, a female Armitito, and everyone else staring at them. Ignoring the looks she was receiving, Yoremedia spoke.
“What are we waiting for? Are we ready to fly?”
Yoremedia's voice was stern and assertive, making the pilot step back before she spoke.
“We are ready. I just need to check the landing gear in case the rocking didn’t damage it.”
Yoremedia stared at the pilot, who had yet to move from her location. Sensing the other occupants’ stare, the pilot looks through her helmet’s visor. The rest of the Recon Team stared at her. Seeing this as a cue, the pilot headed to the cockpit and checked her 3D display for possible damage to the landing gear. The display came up with all greens, and she began the start-up sequence.
The lights in the back of the Transport changed to green, letting everyone know it was time to depart. Everyone began to sit back down again. Valè looks at her younger litter sister Vijatà giving her a clear warning. Vijatà just sat down and rubbed the back of her head while V`yx chuckled while sitting next to her. Valè turns her gaze back to the Champion and her litter sister, Yoremedia, who had sat next to the Champion and was talking to him in a low tone. Valè saw the concern on her litter sister's face, and her bioluminescent radiated a color of uneasiness. Valè felt a bit of anxiety. The Champion’s actions were similar to those of Team members whose PTSD had been triggered. She knew of the aftermath of the battle with the Yossu and how the Champion was critically injured, but the detail of his battle or what had happened to him was kept under a very tight leash. Valè understood the reasoning: a mortally injured Champion and being stranded on this planet would plummet the crew's morale to the point that more than half would not survive past a cycle.
The 3D image of the Transport flying grabs Valè’s attention. The Transport was already in the air. Taking a seat, Valè decided to keep a watchful eye on the Champion. Ùzonal and Bla`ol saw how Valè reacted and looked at the Champion. The Champion was whispering to Yoremedia. The Champion still looked annoyed and uncomfortable, yet he looked calmer compared to a few seconds ago. Ùzonal and Bla`ol Looked at each other for a second and decided to join Yoremedia. Having other males around might help the Champion relax.
*****
The Transport had flown cautiously and carefully, making a five-minute trip to their LZ into ten. Still, those ten minutes were hell for Gabriel. Even having Yoremedia and her two teammates around him, Gabriel still felt uncomfortable as the memories of his time inside the shuttle started kicking in. The memories only faded when Yesleta used their link to talk to him. Now disembarking the Transport, it was a battle to convince her that he was fine.
(
Kitty-cat, I am fine.)
(
Gabriel, I could sense your discomfort through our link. Don’t you lie to me.)
Gabriel could only sigh. He was thankful for Yesleta being worried, but now wasn’t the time for this. He and the Recon Team needed to get their butts into gear. Taking a deep breath, he spoke in their link.
(Yesleta,
kitty-cat, I’m fine. The doors to the Transport are open, and I don’t feel so closed in. plus, if it makes you feel better. I will see Zè once this mission is over.)
Gabriel could feel Yesleta's Indecisiveness through their link. She wanted him to return as she thought she was putting him in danger, but on the other hand, sending the Recon team without his unique abilities was another type of danger she was sending the Recon Team into. After a minute or so, Gabriel felt Yesleta come to a conclusion.
(Fine, the moment you touch base, I want you to see Zè. No deviation. Just walk to the Healer of the mind field office and talk to him. And you better keep the link open.)
Gabriel could only chuckle for a bit before he could reply.
(I will don’t worry. I got to go now. I am the last one left inside the Transport.)
Gabriel said as he got close to the Transport’s door. The ray of light from the system's star tilted, notifying everything that night would soon arrive. As he stepped outside, he saw the rest of the Recon Team fully loaded and with their helmets equipped. Light engulfs Gabriel’s head, and everyone from the Recon Team is surprised by the sudden burst of light. As soon as the light appeared, it banished. What replaced it was a simple helmet with interesting markings and a visor-shaped “T.” Behind the visor, everyone saw The Champion’s glowing eyes, which sent shivers down their very souls.
“Are we ready to head out?”
Gabriel's deep voice broke the soul-chilling grasp that every Recon Team member found themselves in. Valè being the first to be free from the chill that took hold of her soul, spoke.
“Ah…Yes, Champion…we are ready.”
Gabriel was confused by Valè’s reaction but paid no mind to it. Walking to the group, he began to fire off his Combat Mods and link himself to the Recon Team’s electronic combat system. Valè’s HUD flickered for a second then the world around her changed—colors she had never seen before painted the world around her. Leaves were more vibrant. She saw the tiniest insects flying around or crawling on the ground. All painted in different colors. The flow of sap inside the massive tree was free for her to watch. Just what in the name of her Divine Goddesses was going on? She looked around at the rest of the Recon Team, but they were as confused as her…except for Vijatà, who was playing with her paws, trying to touch the new colors around her.
“Junior team leader Valè I have linked myself to the Recon Team’s electronic combat system. Everyone will see and hear the world around me as I do and will be able to keep track of me once we head out. Lastly, I have set this to the lowest settings. The different light spectrums, radio waves, and the bioelectricity of various living beings should not overwhelm your senses. Just don’t stare too long, or you’ll get vertigo.”
Hearing the Champion’s explanation, everyone turns to him with awe and amazement. They were seeing the world around them as how a Champion would. Even Valè was taken a bit back. She saw a world only privy to those blessed by her Devine Goddesses as Champions. Yet something in the back of her mind was nagging at her. What did the Champion mean by keeping “track” of him?” Before she could ask, the Champion disappeared, leaving no trace of himself.
“Champion?”
Valè asks with concern as the scales on her back begin to rise. Yoremedia and her Team hear Valè’s concerned voice and turn to where Gabriel should’ve been. They see nothing as if the massive being that is Gabriel was never there, to begin with.
“Over here, Junior team leader Valè.”
The deep voice of the Champion came from next to Vijatà, who jumped in surprise. Everyone jerked their heads toward the disembodied voice, yet they saw nothing. Suddenly a silhouette of the Champion appears, making Vijatà do a backflip and fly a few hundred feet in the air before landing.
“What in the Agony Plains is that!?”
Vijatà screamed at the top of her lung as she landed. A small chuckle could be heard from the silhouette, and soon the silhouette began taking color, and the Champion appeared.
“Forgive me. I did not consider the delay your electronic system would encounter once I linked with it. Your tech is a bit outdated compared to what I have.”
Again, everyone was surprised, not by the Champion disappearing, but because their system could not pick him up. Goddess of Science Inelina created the HUD and electronic combat system to track and pinpoint any type of Agony Demon, even if it had shifted or phased from their reality to an adjacent plane, making it “invisible.”
“Champion, how did you mask yourself from our systems!”
Bla`ol screamed. The Tiverno male excitement could not be contained, even with him wearing his heavy Mecha. Gabriel turned his gaze to the over-excited male. Seeing the Champion lock his eyes on him made Bla`ol flinch a little.
“One of my many Ge…Gifts are the ability to control electromagnetism in its complete form. Allowing me to create a bubble that copies the electromagnetic fields of particles of whatever is around me. Kind of like,
see a rock be a rock type of thing. So when your HUD was scanning, the bubble copied its spectrum and turned me invisible to your system.”
Bla`ol was left speechless.
“Junior team leader Valè. Permission to scout ahead?”
The Champion’s voice broke the stunned daze everyone found themselves in. Mentally kicking herself, Valè scolded herself for quickly losing track of what she came to do. Turning to the Champion, she spoke.
“Champion, I want you to scout ahead of us, but please don’t stray too far. We are only 3.4 Mi away from the advancing force. That’s pretty much a stone's throw away, making it easy for any of their scout units to come this way. Lastly, keep the channel open. I don’t care how mundane something looks. I want you to notify me ASAP. Everyone else maintains scouting protocol. Bla`ol, your Mecha has more computing power than any of our armors. I want you to monitor our real-time movement and advancing forces using the satellites.”
Everyone nodded to Valè’s command and began to move. The Champion disappears, but everyone quickly sees his transparent silhouette. As the group progressed, Valè turned to her Comms and ordered the pilot’s Transport to depart. The Transport took off and flew back to the Command Center. With that done, she gave a simple report to Command Center: Recon Team heading out. Command Center's reply was simple, Goddess speed and good hunting.

2023.03.23 22:45 Swimming_Good_8507 Few thoughts on the T'au FTL and Navy
So - I had bit of thinking about the T'au Navy
And how I like it and hate it at the same time.
Let's start with Phil Kelly and GW genius retconn - that T'au don't have FTL
Like - they have engines that go "almost" to FTL - but doesn't.
My head-cannon - Merchant fleet has this "new and better" - ZFR Horizon drive - as it actually makes sens for T'au Mechant fleet to not use proper FTL - similarly to thousands of non-warp travel capable trade vessel of the Imperium.
Logic is simple - yes - the travel takes years - but with enough ships - small and relatively cheap - you can have continous stream of vessels traveling through space.
Protection fleet on the other hand - old Either drive - being 1/3 or 1/2 the speed of the Imperial Warp Drive - by "slipping" into the very upper spheres of the Warp - allowing for friction-less flight.
Next you have infamous AL-38 Slipspace Module - an interesting new invention, that creates bubble of anti-matter around the vessel - allowing it to travel at the speed of the Warp Drive - if not even faster - as comparison was made that travel that before took months - now took days - so possible new FTL in 40k - maybe similar to Star Wars Hyperspace - in terms of speed. However - too many of them used at once - caused the creation of an actual warm-hole and caused the Fourth Sphere Expansion fleet to be sent somehow - into the Warp - where Warp Entity of the Greater Good - saved the survivors. The drive was banned after the catastrophe, but after re-discovery of the survivors - research was reignited - so possible anti-matter FTL for the T'au soon.
That makes much more sense than GW idea of T'au not having FTL at all - with this ZFR horizon drive. If that was the case - that would mean that during the Damocles Gulf Crusade - and every conflict since - T'au managed to score victories against the Imperial Navy - without having FTL. Which is extremely dumb. I am a T'au fan - but painting Imperial Navy to be this - incompetent - to not be able to deal with non-FTL capable navy - is ludicrous.
Next which makes a little sense - lack of proper military navy before the meeting of the Imperium of Man.
I know that Merchant Fleet has guns - but T'au faced Orks before. Meybe not catastrophic levels of WAAAGH! - but still - Ork Ships are dangerous and it's weird to me they took soo long to develop proper military navy.
Now - about Protection Fleet - I find it quite interesting.
Almost entire Protection Fleet Doctrine and ship design is focused on: Cruiser-Carrier - or Carrier-Cruiser - depending on the variants.
Which is perfect for the T'au - they enjoy and excel in range combat and their Air Caste pilots are good at their job.
Here is a problem tho.
Almost total lack of dedicated void-craft.
I love Mantas and other fighter-planes of the T'au - but that's the thing. Most of them were dedicated ATMOSPHERIC - craft. And in atmosphere they are ludicrously OP. Like - one of the best armed craft of any faction - at least on paper. Manta being both bomber, gunship and transport - gives it quite a lot of adaptability - and Tigersharks can snipe tanks as Close Air Support or as Ground Attack Craft.
But when other factions do have dedicated void craft - with 50/50 on the side of orks - cuz they will run a diesel engine in the void - and it will still work cuz of green magic - T'au don't have dedicated void craft.
Manta is amazing for an Air-craft - but by looking at Imperial counterpart in the void - it's bit silly comparison.
T'au lack dedicated void-craft for their type of doctrine. Bigger fighters, interceptors and bombers would be a nice addition.
Am I also full on with the idea of Cruiser-Carriers. T'a lack the resources or production capacity to create dedicated carriers and I doubt they ever will be able to do so. But I am surprised T'au navy doesn't have more dedicated vessels of different size.
For example - Sniper Cruiser - T'au proved to be able to create dedicated titan killing weapon for atmosphere. It would be interesting to see a vessel that is just a massive Ion-cannon - capable of one-shooting an Imperial Cruiser - call it a damn "Swordfish" or something - to keep the oceanic design vibe of the T'au Protection fleet.
I also adore the T'au "gunships" - destroyer sized small vessels, carried by bigger cruisers and battleships - into the battle - as escorts. The fact those "gunships" - are probably the size of Star Wars Venators from the Clone Wars - makes it even funnier.
T'au like to use torpedoes. I find the lack of the dedicated Missile-Cruiser - or in this case - "Torpedo-Cruiser" - quite disappointing. It's not like they don't have them.
Next on the list - Drone Void-Craft - It would be interesting to have dedicated AI controlled fighters and bombers as support for the Air Caste pilots - decoys - ect. Sadly we don't get such a thing. I would love to see a massive AI frisbee - going around chasing Imperial pilots - having 0 ducks to give about such miserable thing like "G force".
There is also an aspect of T'au client races and allies. Votaan, Kroot - hell - Imperial Vessels that joined the T'au Empire - could be nice to see. We know that humans run to T'au empire. Why would some of their navy vessels don't do the same? We could have some true tech-heresy - with Imperial Lunar Cruiser - re-fitted with the mix of T'au and Imperial tech - Ion Cannons instead of lances or some new form of modified Macro-Cannons - whatever. There is even a story about a Rogue Trader traitor to the imperium within this idea.
Wouldn't you want to see, a T'au Rogue Trader captain of - I don't know... oh - Herald of Profit - re-fitted Lunar Class Cruiser with Ion Cannons instead of lances and some bizarre T'au part's and AI control systems, allowing his ship to be more deadly than their counterparts?
Last but not least - I think there are to few examples of Naval combat in books and other stories with T'au navy. And in those cases where they are present - Protection fleet usually get's their asses handled to them. I mean - I know that protection fleet isn't the best navy in the 40k - but few W would be nice to see.
Especially with Imperial focus on big guns and limited carrie fighter-craft capacity - T'au have some nice advantages.
Ironically - writers could play around with the image of Imperial Japan vs USA from WW2 - as GW does that a lot of time.
However - this time - the "eastern theme" T'au - are carrier focused navy - when Imperium of Man goes into big guns and battleships. You could have a proper battle of midway in space - where T'au superior attack-craft numbers, cripple good portion of the Imperial Fleet before the main battle - forcing the Imperium to send more dedicated carriers into the region of T'au expansion in order to somewhat counter them.
Well - with upcoming "Farsight" book with the Arks of Omen - I hope T'au Navy will get some more love. Some proper naval battles would be nice to see on bigger scale.
Hell - let's make it a team up story of T'au and Imperium working together, hunting down Tyranids, Orks - or those damn Dark Eldar.
Not unreasonable story - a T'au fleet and Imperial Havy Patrol - join forces to deal with some threat between their empires.
Either way - that's my thoughts on the T'au navy and their FTL

2023.03.23 22:11 British_Tea_Company Respect: Lion El'Jonson (Warhammer 40k)
Author's Note: More material featuring the Lion is likely coming out soon. This RT will be updated ASAP in order to reflect that.
"Loyalty is its own reward." Character Summary Lion El'Jonson was created by the God Emperor of Mankind as one of his 20 Primarchs who would serve as his generals in his Great Crusade across the galaxy. Scattered by the Chaos Gods during their infancy, the Primarchs all crash landed into various different worlds, with the Lion crash landing upon the forest world of Caliban, a steampunk knight world infested with monsters. For most of his life, the Lion lived alone and slew anything that crossed his path before being found by a knight of the name Luthor.
Eventually, the Emperor would discover the Lion, whom would swear loyalty to him and remain loyal during the time of the Horus Heresy. Luthor, the Lion's closest friend and surrogate mentofather figure would also be uplifted into the Dark Angels legion given to his command as a 'Demi-Astartes'. This ultimately proved to be a mistake, as Luthor eventually chose to betray the Lion, culminating in a final battle that saw the homeworld of the Dark Angels legion shattered into a massive space ship known as "The Rock", and the Lion rendered asleep for over 10,000 years.
The lion wakes now.

2023.03.23 21:18 PokeMixelecti If there was a Sonic Unleashed re-released.
| A console version of the 2008 video game Sonic Unleashed with improved graphics is called Sonic Unleashed Worldwide. The modified Sonic Unleashed has features from both the Wii/PS2 and Xbox 360/PS3 versions. Made by me: Sonic Unleashed Worldwide by Sowells on DeviantArt Console Differences and Overall Gameplay (There are a lot of changes and additions, so you can just skim through them): 1) The stages in the Worldwide version contain both the wider pathways and more numerous alternate routes of the Wii/PS2 edition and the Xbox 360/PS3 edition's faster-paced action, better lighting, and tighter pathways. Uses the same "Hedgehog Engine" as the 360/PS3 version, which generates CGI-quality graphics in-game and bounces light off everything on screen. 2) The Worldwide version, like the Xbox 360/PS3 versions, includes interactive, explorable hub worlds and town stages. 3) Chip speaks and reads the phrases on the screen in both the Wii/PS2 and the Worldwide versions when the player enters a specified portion of the stage, even though you can still walk about while playing in the Worldwide version. The game's options screen allows players to enable or disable the purely optional function. 4) The reticle in the Worldwide version changes from green to red when making a homing strike against an adversary or an object. 5) The Mazuri and Empire City stages were deleted from the Wii/PS2 version (with the exception of Mazuri's boss, the Egg Beetle), but they were included in the Xbox 360/PS3 version. These have now been incorporated to the Worldwide edition. 6) Tornado Defense stages and Egg Cauldron bouts, which are missing from the Wii/PS2 version, are present in the Xbox 360/PS3 and, as of recently, the Worldwide version. 7) Sonic comes equipped with all of his powers in the Wii/PS2 version of the game, but not in the Xbox 360/PS3 or the Worldwide versions. Nonetheless, just like in the Wii/PS2 version, Sonic will acquire his other skills in the instructional levels one through three of the Worldwide version. 8) In the Wii/PS2 version, the Sonic Boost lasts for two to three seconds. Filling it up requires acquiring rings, drifting, and completing Action Chains. One square of the bar is used for each boost, and by accumulating rings, the bar can be increased from three bars to six bars. Sonic's top speed and the Sonic Boost gauge, which cannot be permanently ramped up, are controlled by the rings acquired during the stage. Each time Sonic is hurt, one bar of his boost is lost. The Xbox 360/PS3 and now the Worldwide version allow them to go through the game by improving their level. Rings can be gathered to fill it as it operates continuously. The bar can also be extended by leveling it up. 9) Spin Dash is available in the Wii/PS2 and Worldwide game versions. When Sonic is mid-boost, he always spins when he encounters a speed pad. In addition, if the player presses the boost button at the beginning of the level just before the countdown expires, Sonic will not only start the level with a Spin Dash but also gain one free boost. If the player presses the button too late, Sonic will briefly trip and fall. 10) In contrast, the Xbox 360/PS3 version's Gaia Gates are circular teleportation platforms that unleash luminous spheres of light. The Gaia Gates on the Wii/PS2 and the Worldwide version, however, are massive structures resembling temples with numerous doors inside. Each of these Gaia Gates has a unique theme that corresponds to the continent it represents (Holoska's is coated in ice, while Adabat's is overgrown in flora). 11) Sonic the Werehog's ranking is based on level-up orbs, completion time, and the number of rings earned in the Wii/PS2 versions, and its poorest rank is C. In comparison, Sonic's ranking in the Xbox 360/PS3 and now the Worldwide version is based on score, and its poorest ranking is an E. 12) In both the Xbox 360/PS3 and the Worldwide versions, Eggmanland is one long stage where Sonic changes forms. The daytime stage and missions open the Wii/PS2 version, followed by five night levels. 13) While running next to a wall, Sonic goes either slightly inclined upwards (Xbox 360/PS3) or completely perpendicular to the wall (Wii/PS2 and the Worldwide version). 14) In various real-time combat scenes, Sonic will Homing Attack or Air Boost his target, depending on whether the scene is in the Wii/PS2 version, Xbox 360/PS3 version, or Worldwide version. 15) There are fewer voice clips in the Sonic for Wii/PS2 game. In contrast to the Xbox 360/PS3 version and the Worldwide version, he only has one clip for boosting. 16) The levels in the Xbox 360/PS3 and Global versions of the game are substantially longer and more difficult, but the levels and gameplay in the Wii/PS2 version are much shorter and simpler. The day stages only have three acts for each continent in the Xbox 360/PS3 version. 17) In the Xbox 360/PS3 version, Sonic seems to slow down when he begins to side scroll, yet in the Wii/PS2 and worldwide versions, Sonic keeps his speed. 18) The Star Points or Checkpoints occur in both the daytime and nighttime acts in the Xbox 360/PS3 and Worldwide versions. The Wii/PS2 versions' daylight Time Attack missions are the only ones where the Star Posts, which add time, can be found. 19) In the Wii/PS2 versions, stage progression is mission-based, similar to the Sonic Storybook Series (especially the daytime phase; the Werehog's missions are entirely optional, aside from tutorials). Before returning to the day stage repeatedly with a different objective, Sonic must first complete it once normally on each continent he travels to. Although there are tasks for both Sonic and the Werehog in the Xbox 360/PS3 version, they are purely optional. Both stage progressions are seen in The Worldwide. 20) Item capsules were a component in main-series Sonic games prior to Sonic Lost World and the Worldwide release of Sonic Unleashed. There is extra Gaia force, Unleashed force, or hidden bonuses in these hidden objects in the night stages. Only the daytime portions have hidden extras. These could have unlocked objectives in Gaia Gates, extra lives, or secret extras. 21) The Wii/PS2 version does not have the option to skip cutscenes, while the Xbox 360/PS3 and the Worldwide versions do. 22) The in-game language can be altered in both the Wii/PS2 and Xbox 360/PS3 and Worldwide versions of the game, although in the Wii/PS2 version, just the in-game text is affected; in the latter two, both the text and voice acting are. 23) Sonic and Chip's bonus scene from Chun-Nan is present in both versions of the game and is now accessible in the Worldwide version, unlike Holoska and Adabat's additional cutscenes, which are exclusive to the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of the game. 24) Sonic appears to run more quickly in the nighttime portions of the Wii/PS2 and the Worldwide versions compared to the Xbox 360/PS3 version. In contrast to earlier versions, the Worldwide version shows that the Werehog may damage items when it collides with them and that its speed seems to be more manageable. The "aura" of his attacks on the Wii/PS2 version is blue (as well as red, green, and yellow), while it is purple (as well as red, green, and yellow) on the Xbox 360/PS3 and the Worldwide edition. It's interesting to note that when Sonic enters his Unleashed Mode, the auras change color to blue in both the Xbox 360/PS3 and Worldwide versions of the game. 25) The Evil Flowers, Power Masters, Dark Eels, and Cure Masters are exclusive to the Xbox 360/PS3 version, whereas the Red Nightmares, Spikes, Dark Masters, Red Titans, and Red Deep Nightmares are exclusive to the Wii/PS2 version. They all appear in the Worldwide version alongside the regular Dark Gaia minions. 26) In the Wii/PS2 version, only one button may be pressed at once; however, in the Xbox 360/PS3 and the Worldwide versions, all buttons may be pressed simultaneously. 27) The Egg Beetle fight stage is designed differently depending on the platform; from a 2D perspective, the Wii/PS2 and Worldwide versions go to the right, while the 360/PS2 versions move to the left. The Worldwide version contains the same boss strategy and difficulty as the Wii/PS2 version: He attacks by hurling explosive boxes that frequently travel directly in Sonic's path as they flip over once. He deactivates his shield when he conducts his bite attack. Either boost into the cockpit for damage or homing attack it. In the 3D section, he will fly, so boosting is advised. If the player has enough boosts, they can hit him up to three times. The player cannot combo him if he uses a homing attack because he won't go flying, but he will still take damage. Three missiles will be fired when the level switches to a 2D perspective. To avoid being hit, the player must timing their jump to correspond with the order in which the missile engines fire. Then, when the player is in front of him, the Egg Beetle will prepare for another attempt to crush him with its flame claws. It bites twice rather than once when it is on the verge of defeat. When his shield is down, the player must use a Homing Attack to attack it. If the player boosts, the player sustains damage instead of the Egg Beetle and must repeat the entire cycle. You'll return to the 3D perspective after hitting him with a homing attack. Use the same strategy as before to defeat him. 28) The Egg Devil Ray is controlled by Eggman in the Wii/PS2 version, however the Xbox 360/PS3 and worldwide versions use what appears to be Orbot and the Little Fighter robots, which can be seen in a couple Werehog stages. However, the Wii/PS2 version's boss strategy and level of difficulty are included in the Worldwide version: During the battle, the camera occasionally changes perspectives (3D, 2D, overhead) (3D, 2D, overhead). The Egg Devil Ray uses various attacks during these phases, hence this shift in viewpoint requires a change in strategy. The Egg Devil Ray begins by shooting a few lasers. Before removing its shield, it will eventually begin to fire all of its lasers. After that, the player must use a homing attack or a Sonic boost. It will then convert to a 2D perspective. The Egg Devil Ray will then discharge four lasers in a circular pattern along with a fifth laser to serve as a barrier for the Egg Devil Ray. Sonic must avoid the lasers and damage it with a homing attack. The camera will then return to its 3D perspective. Repeat this process until the shield is taken down. The perspective will change to an above view. In addition to its standard attacks, the Devil Ray also fires small fireballs when engaged in 3D battle. When the shield is down, the player should leap over them and boost into the Egg Devil Ray. A 3D perspective, a 2D perspective, and finally an above perspective will be used from that point on. To defeat the Egg Devil Ray, each of these strategies must be used repeatedly. 29) The Egg Lancer in the Xbox 360/PS3 and the Worldwide versions adopts certain boss features seen in the Wii/PlayStation 2 version, including the inability to attack the boss again and the use of more traps and attack methods: To begin, the Egg Lancer fires missiles that create fire pillars. Avoid it while gathering rings. It will extend its claws and become vulnerable to attack if the player restarts the battle. Then, with the camera centered above Sonic, it will follow the track up and turn sideways. A zigzag pattern of lasers is fired by the Egg Lancer while it is hiding behind the floor. Then, when the floor ends at a mountain side, Sonic will confront the Egg Lancer. The rock wall will then be slammed, causing rocks to fall. Alternately, the player can run directly beneath the Egg Lancer's claws and miraculously avoid damage; nevertheless, when a rock strikes the Egg Lancer, its claws will suddenly open. Boost into it to damage it if the player finds themselves in a tight situation. Sonic will then tumble to the track below as the course curves downward. The Egg Lancer will continue using the same method it did with the Egg Devil Ray on this track as the camera zooms overhead. In this stage, the player may hit it up to two times. After this, the player must perform a Real-Time Interaction to jump along the pads; if successful, they will deal two hits' worth of damage. If the player fails, Sonic will perish, and the battle will restart from the beginning. The Egg Lancer will then repeat its strategy once Sonic falls through a hole and returns to the beginning. 30) In all versions, the boss battle with the Dark Phoenix is the same, although in the Worldwide version, the Dark Phoenix has new attacks to use in the fight: The Dark Gaia Phoenix begins by firing numerous feathers at Sonic while homing them in. It will then turn around and land in a fiery earthquake. His new attacks involve swooping overhead, pelting the stage with fireballs, and setting his wings on fire to create fire twisters. Jump up to one of the platforms and hurl a water barrel at the boss when he charges up for a more powerful attack. He'll lose his fire aura and get so worn out that he'll have to land in the center of the arena to rest and relight, which will present you with an opening to launch an attack. The Dark Gaia Phoenix will unleash feathers that could hit Sonic and possibly damage the water barrel if you do not toss a water barrel at him. Then a button sequence will start, allowing you the option to inflict further damage on him. Each time you reduce his health by a third, you need one more water barrel to put out his fire aura. He will collapse following 3 attack sequences. 31) The boss battle with the Dark Moray from the Wii/PS2 and Worldwide versions is unchanged: The player's initial objective is to take down Dark Moray's shield, which is placed at the start of the battle and will instantly freeze Sonic if he touches it. Sonic must avoid Deep Nightmares, Red Nightmares, Dark Moray's ice balls, Killer Bees, and four pairs of shield generators while completing this task. Sonic can leap on it and attack Dark Moray directly once the shield is destroyed. It will then launch a number of attacks, including as ice breath, ice balls, and smashing its head down to spin it around. In particular, its ice blast has the ability to freeze Sonic. The player must repeatedly hit Dark Moray until it spits out three ice canisters in order to beat it. Then, in order to attack Dark Moray's abscesses, Sonic must pick up a canister and hurl it at it in order to freeze it. It is simpler to strike the initial abscess (on its belly). Sonic might have to use a mid-air assault to take out the second abscess (on its back). The player has to wait for Dark Moray to use the third assault before freezing it so Sonic can hit the third abscess (on its forehead). Sonic will be forced off the stage after destroying one of the abscesses while the shield is up. Dark Moray will be vanquished after performing out the previous technique three more times. 32) Only the Dark Guardian has a pre-battle cutscene in Sonic Unleashed's Wii/PS2 version until the game's 30th port. Sonic Unleashed's Dark Guardian has a different height depending on the version you play; in the Xbox 360/PS3 version, it is almost the same height as Sonic the Werehog, but in the Wii/PS2 and Worldwide versions, it is almost as tall as a Titan. Taking on the Dark Guardian one-on-one is the only way to beat this boss. It can reach out and punch Sonic with its arm. It will swing its hammer all about as Sonic is stunned when the player fistfights with it. Dark Guardian is also capable of making swift escapes. After some time, it will teleport to the opposite end of the arena and bash its hammer down, setting off lightning strikes across the field and replenishing its Vitality Gauge. The player will take more damage than usual if they dash over to attack. Dark Guardian will throw Sonic into the air if the player fails. However, if the player chooses the appropriate button, Sonic will avoid the hammer blow and kick the Dark Guardian in the neck. If they fail, Sonic will be hit with the hammer. Dark Guardian will charge a blast that deals a lot of damage as soon as the player touches the ground. The player will be able to dodge it if they use proper time. If they fail, the player should suffer severe damage. 33) The boss battle against the Egg Dragoon is still the same, but in the Worldwide release, the battle adopted several elements from the Egg Dragoon battle in Sonic Generations, as well as the robot adapting the similar features and strategies, like firing rapid ice blasts and freezing waves from the ice cannons on its feet: Simply attack whenever you get the chance after the battle starts. The Egg Dragoon can only be injured by striking the luminous blue spot on its chest. Dash around on the edge of the platform when it is firing its cannon to get as many hits in as you can. The next Real-Time Interaction starts once the player has increased the Egg Dragoon's health past the top of its health meter. The chance to attack the Egg Dragoon will be lost if the Real-Time Interaction is unsuccessful. After completing the Real-Time Interaction, Eggman will use the Drill Attack to destroy the platform, knocking Sonic to the ground. Avoid gunfire by moving around, picking up Rings, and landing on the following platform. To defeat the Egg Dragoon, repeat the technique three times. 34) Super Sonic battles Perfect Dark Gaia alone in the Wii/PS2 version of the game whereas the Gaia Colossus battles Perfect Dark Gaia alongside Super Sonic in the Xbox 360/PS3 version. Both versions of the final boss' gameplay are combined in the Worldwide version (which includes both the Dark Gaia and Perfect Dark Gaia sections): Chip directs the Gaia Colossus to fly towards Dark Gaia from a distance to begin the actual fight in the first phase of the battle. Dark Gaia attempts to stop him during this time by hurling enormous molten rocks that can be smashed by the Gaia Colossus' punch and blasting a laser from its mouth that cannot be avoided and must therefore be guarded to reduce damage. When you reach Dark Gaia, the real battle begins, which is similar to the Wii/PS2 port's phase. The player must engage in combat when Dark Gaia begins to strike since he is shielded by an invisible barrier that blocks attacks. Dark Gaia will have signalled both of its strikes before the fight even begins, allowing the player time to get ready. The player only needs to move the controls in the direction of the punch. Simply throw a punch to get the upper hand before Dark Gaia raises its barrier. Dark Gaia frequently attacks with powerful combos. To successfully avoid the barrage of strikes, the player will need to respond rapidly. Whenever it pauses between attacks, use the Gaia Colossus to strike back. Dark Gaia sometimes tries to wrestle the Gaia Colossus. The player must follow the onscreen instruction in a final effort to escape if they do not pull the control stick back quickly enough to escape its grasp. Gaia is knocked back by the fatal blow, but the fight is far from over. It reaches out with his enormous claws and grabs the Gaia Colossus in a desperate attempt to survive. In the second phase, the player must guide Sonic through the ruined Gaia Temples while dodging Dark Gaia's tendrils and attacks. Leap over the hit zone to avoid Dark Gaia's Dark Energy Blasts. Sonic is launched toward Dark Gaia's exposed eye by a glowing ramp. Before moving on to the second and third eyes, the player must successfully complete three onscreen button presses in order to destroy the first eye. Next comes the final battle. Multiple phases from both game ports are combined to fight Perfect Dark Gaia in the game's final phase. In this game, the player takes control of Super Sonic, whose only attack is the Super Sonic Boost. In contrast to past boss fights in the Sonic series, Super Sonic has a life gauge instead of a ring count. This gauge fills up as you collect Rings and runs out when you get struck by flying boulders or Perfect Dark Gaia's attacks. The player will lose a life if Super Sonic's life bar is completely empty. Perfect Dark Gaia initially creates a shield that Super Sonic cannot penetrate. As they charge towards Perfect Dark Gaia in the beginning, the players must avoid rocks and energy orbs. Since there won't be any more Rings available until Sonic reaches Perfect Dark Gaia, it is also important to collect as many Rings as you can to fill up his life gauge. Super Sonic and Chip (as the Gaia Colossus) will arrive at the shield after avoiding the rocks. Chip breaks through the shield to divert Perfect Dark Gaia, and Super Sonic has to take out the shield's source, which is depicted by the serpent heads that sprout from the shield. By continually boosting into these heads, the player can destroy them, but they must be careful of the nearby rocks, which will inflict damage on Super Sonic. Since Chip also has a life gauge, the shield must be taken out before Chip's gauge runs out or they lose a life. Occasionally, as Chip falls, Perfect Dark Gaia begins to attack Super Sonic through the force field. Here, it mostly fights Super Sonic with a powerful laser or by sending flaming rocks his way with what appears to be telekinesis. However, Chip will eventually reappear and divert the player's attention from Perfect Dark Gaia once more. After the shield has been destroyed, the player moves on to the second phase, which features cinematic gameplay. Perfect Dark Gaia uses its six arms to capture Chip here. By hitting a button during a Real-Time Interaction, Super Sonic enters the fight to save Chip by boosting into all six of his arms. Chip is then let free, leaving Perfect Dark Gaia in pain. In the last phase, the player continues to control Super Sonic as he soars in front of Perfect Dark Gaia. The player can use Turbo Boost and Deflect to dodge the monster's projectiles and move about the screen while engaged in combat. The player must gather floating rings in order to charge the Boost Gauge and utilize the Super Sonic Boost to hit each of Perfect Dark Gaia's eyes once in order to beat this boss. The Super Sonic Boost can be used once for every tenth Ring in the player's control, but using it also results in Super Sonic of 10 Rings. As the player moves toward Perfect Dark Gaia's still-open eyes to collect Rings, a red target reticle that signals an opening will appear in front of each of those eyes. The roar of Perfect Dark Gaia likewise creates such an opening. The player directs Super Sonic as he flies in the direction of an eye after using the Super Sonic Boost. The player wounds the eye and repeats the process if the attack successfully hits. However, as the attack on the eyes progresses, meteors begin to appear. Make an effort to predict their course and adjust your actions. Super Sonic takes damage and cancels his attack if he is hit. Perfect Dark Gaia will primarily use its claws to fight during the battle. An onscreen faint slash that shows the location of the attack flashes as the beast cocks its arm back. The faint slash is swiftly followed by the actual attack, so move quickly to dodge it. As the player hits more of Perfect Dark Gaia's eyes, it will slash more quickly and use all six of its claws at once. Move swiftly to the center of the screen to evade the latter attack. Perfect Dark Gaia will eventually begin shooting energy projectiles at Super Sonic as well. To redirect the shot back at the source, follow the onscreen button prompts as they appear. By doing so, Dark Gaia will be temporarily stunned, allowing the player to gather rings and aim for its remaining eyes. Perfect Dark Gaia will unveil its core and significantly larger eye after striking six eyes. Perfect Dark Gaia is finally vanquished after striking this eye. submitted by PokeMixelecti to SonicTheHedgehog [link] [comments] |
2023.03.23 21:04 SocialTel Tales of the Terran Mercenary Group (1/?)
The engines of the dropship kicked on afterburners, roaring into overdrive as they neared their final descent. The inertial dampeners whined in protest, and Nikos felt his stomach flip flop as gravity spasmed around him in a desperate attempt to correct back to Terra normal. Niko gasped in exertion, his vision blurring and darkening around the corners. On his heads-up display, he could see his heart rate spike as his vitals went haywire. In response, his suit upped the oxygen percentage in his air supply and he felt something prick him in the nape of his neck. His heart rate slowed, his vision snapped into razor focus and he heaved with relief. Above them, the red combat light began to flash. Niko reached to his side, brushing his gloved hand against his rifle, and ran one final suit diagnostic. Then the dropship slammed into the ground, the combat light turned green.
“GO! GO! GO!”
The backdoor exploded open and Niko was on his feet, racing out of the dropship. Men peeled off the moment they exited, running to either side of the dropship to create a perimeter. Niko was one of the last out and he blinked in surprise at just how crowded the city was. Hundreds of bugs were scuttling away from them in all directions, trampling each other in their haste. Niko’s foot hit something wet and viscous as he stepped off the metal ramp and dashed toward his position in the perimeter. A couple of xenos were trying to drag something from under the dropship, screaming in their disgusting language all the while.
“Get the fuck back!” he roared, raising his rifle toward the bugs. His suit translated his words into the unintelligible bug speak and they froze. The one closest to the ship was still clutching onto the upper half of another xeno that Niko’s suit informed him had already flatlined. They froze just long enough that his HUD blinked red and an angry tone played in his helmet. A grin spread across Niko’s face and he opened fire. His rifle automatically cycled to anti-personnel rounds. The xeno closest to him disintegrated in a spray of razor-sharp flechettes. The second was just beginning to look over at its companion when Nikos cut it down as well. The remaining bugs began to run from him and the drop ship. Right over a huge red square that flashed on the ground less than ten feet in front of him, warning him not to step underneath it. The xenos couldn’t see it however and they didn’t even have time to react before another dropship crushed them into a paste.
Gore splashed onto Niko’s faceplate and he raised a hand to wipe it off his faceplate. When his hands came down, he saw the smooth side of a dropship. It was smeared with slime, so much of it that it nearly obscured the Terra Military Group emblem emblazoned on its side, a combat helmet with the faceplate up, revealing a grinning terran skull with two crossed rifles underneath. Written around its edge were the words, “We endanger species”
More troops poured out of the new dropship, taking positions around their own dropship. As they did so, Niko shifted his position to fill the new perimeter. On his map, he saw the blue markers of a dozen other dropships on the ground around them and the hundreds of smaller blue dots of other soldiers, “all units are on the ground and accounted for.”
The dropship engines roared again, scorching the pavement underneath them and causing a fog of evaporated biological matter to waft into the air. Then the massive dropships shot off and into back towards high orbit, leaving the terran troops in the heart of an alien city.
“Move to secure primary objective.”
That was all that the humans needed. As one they turned towards one of the massive pristine skyscrapers and made their way to it. Each squad leapfrogged closer as the others covered them from behind. They moved like a well-oiled machine. Xenos civilians sprinted to get out of their way. Niko grinned as one stumbled, falling to the ground before him. His grin widened as he felt bones crunch underfoot. Everything was going exactly as planned.
Then the windows of the lobby of the skyscraper shattered. Niko dived to the ground without a second thought, the only thing that saved him from being gunned down. A veritable wall of tracers reached out from the building and he saw one man take two rounds before he hit the ground. Niko’s eyes flitted to the casualty report to find that the man was fine. His armor had taken the brunt of the damage.
“Contact!”
The response from the humans was swift, a hollow thunk sounded behind him, and the bottom floor of the skyscraper erupted into flames. A shockwave of rapidly expanding water vapor followed right behind. There was a noticeable decrease in return fire after that.
“Move!”
Niko was back on his feet again, charging headlong into the flames. A careful approach would do them little good anymore. He raised his rifle and started firing into the smoke and flames as he slipped into the building amidst the gunfire and alarms. The lobby was a mess. Fires roared in every direction, smoke clogged the entire chamber, and the dead and dying lay in crumpled heaps of scattered limbs half fused to the ground, walls, and floor. One bug soldier was wandering around aimlessly, the lower half of one of its arms hung on by threads. Niko drilled it in the head and it dropped.
“Keep moving! It is imperative that you capture the target before enemy reinforcements arrive!”
Other TMG operatives had made it into the building and they were forming up by one of the stairwells. Their point man, a breacher in a huge suit of powered armor tossed something into the stairwell. Niko barely picked up alarmed screeches before the doors to the stairwell erupted outwards, bits of glass and shrapnel sprayed in all directions. The TMG breacher rushed inside a moment later and was immediately blasted with a hail of tracers. For a moment, Niko was sure the man was dead. But the breacher’s thunderous return fire blew away his doubts. Twin antiarmor cannons roared to life, creating two continuous fireballs that glowed like miniature suns, and illuminated the entire stairwell in a fashion that could only have been described as apocalyptic. The rest of the operators slipped in as the breacher continued his suppressing fire and began to bulldoze their way up the stairwell. Niko bolted up right behind their new pointman, a slim woman in specialist gear, careful to maintain team cohesion. As he ran, he saw the specialist pull a drone from her belt and toss it underhand into the air.
The baseball-sized package hovered in the air for a moment before it blinked to life. The drone shot up the staircase and Niko’s data display lit up with information. The drone sent out high-powered radar pulses that could have cooked an unarmored biological in seconds if they were close enough. In seconds, it had mapped out the first ten floors and was moving up. His HUD showed chaos. Civilians marked in fluorescent green ran in all directions, interfering with their security’s attempt at defense. Friendly fire incidents began to mount as the TMG operators made their rapid accent toward their target.
A door burst open and a flood of green vomited out, clogging the stairway in their desperate attempt to claw their way out of the burning building.
“Contact front!”
Niko paused just long enough for their specialist to clear a path through the horde before they continued up. The harsh bark of rifle fire and the wet thud of bodies hitting the ground echoed from behind him as a fireteam split off to cover the open door. They went up a dozen more floors, taking out green and red with equal efficiency before a bell rang in his helmet and a new marker appeared, highlighting a blotch in purple.
“Objective located.”
His suit told him that the purple blotch was nearly fifty floors up from their current location. At their current rate, it would take them another ten minutes to fight their way up. Just as that calculation set in, his suit chimed up again, “Native reinforcements on route. ETA 7 minutes, 35 seconds.”
At the same time, the specialist before him crumpled backward, tumbling down the stairs. A crack like a heavy whip snapped out a second later. Niko dove for cover, crashing through a thin plastic door that led into one corridor of the skyscraper. More than a dozen green bugs froze in front of him, barely an arm's distance away. Close enough to swarm him if they wanted to. Luckily for him, they didn’t. They were too preoccupied writhing around on the floor holding their heads as rolling booms echoed up and down the stairwell loud enough that even his helmet’s noise suppression couldn’t keep the sound below painful. He glanced at his HUD. Someone had dragged the specialist behind cover, still alive but heavily wounded and combat ineffective.
Then the specialist’s drone gave one final ping before something took it offline. It was like a light switch had been flicked off in his HUD. The amount of battlefield intel he had access to narrowed to what the sensors of the operators around him could see. But Niko didn’t need to see it to know what had taken out their drone. From a vantage point somewhere above, the defenders had set up a heavy machine gun. Its slow methodical firing hammered down on them, blowing basketball-sized holes through several feet of concrete wherever they hit. They hadn’t managed a direct hit since the start of their ambush but the suppressing fire had pinned the humans in place and showed no signs of stopping.
Worse still, their drone’s final ping revealed a wave of red approaching their locations. It appeared that the xenos had finally regrouped and were about to bring down the brunt of their force on them.
“Keep moving, retain the initiative!”
“Where the hell is that cannon?”
Niko peaked his rifle out into the stairwell, looking through its camera. Methodical muzzle flashes lit up the west side of the building some twenty floors above. He’d just started pulling his arms back when the concrete pillar he’d been using for cover disintegrated before his eyes. One round went straight through the demolished cover and smacked him right in the chest, knocking his ass flat in an instant. The air was punched out of his lungs with gut-wrenching force and he felt several ribs crack simultaneously. A hand reached out and yanked him back behind cover by the carrying handle on the back of his armor. At the same time, Niko felt another prick in his back, and the pain that had just begun to flair up in his chest was put out. The panic that had gripped him when he’d watched their specialist go down dissolved like snow under a plasma cutter and left him with only an adrenaline high the likes he’d never experienced before and a razor-sharp focus he hadn’t thought possible.
“Good shit finding that gun Niko!” someone said over the squad comms, “we’re taking that fucker out. On my mark, peak, Val’s going to fire another thermo at those xenos.”
Green acknowledgment lights flashed.
“Mark!”
Niko leaned out again, this time at a different location, and started spraying up at the machine gun. A flash from the floor below forced his visor to darken momentarily as a rocket zipped by. A second flash on a distant floor came a few seconds later. Then silence.
“Mission success is in jeopardy. Valkyrie suits authorized.”
That was all Niko needed to hear. He pulled himself from the ground and rushed the stairwell again. Somewhere above, a guard sent a wild spray of automatic fire at where he had been less than a heartbeat ago, the impacts sent dust erupting behind him. Niko didn’t even notice it as he leaped over the railing, plummeting toward the ground, now more than twenty floors below. Air whistled around him, tearing at his limbs. He felt a click, then his entire suit shuttered and for the second time in less than half an hour, his stomach lurched and he felt the G-force claw at his body. Floors passed by him in a blur, his heart rate spiked and he screamed, screamed with pure adrenaline. Twin turbojets roared to life like a pair of mythical dragons on his back. Geysers of blue flames burst from his Valkyrie suit. His entire body vibrated from the force of thrust.
He shot up like an arrow, followed seconds behind by a dozen other operators. At the same time, the remaining operators laid down suppressing fire, filling the stairwell with tungsten darts. They flashed past a blackened blasted floor, one side completely was completely missing, exposing offices and cowering civilians within. The mangled wreck of an autocannon jutted out from the roof. In seconds they had flown twice the distance they had managed to fight through and Niko’s suit began edging him toward the west side of the stairwell.
Then, as abruptly as they had started, the jets cut off, leaving him at the mercy of gravity for a brief moment. He whistled on, carried through the air by inertia alone for several floors, still moving towards the wall, close enough that he could almost touch. When he finally hit the apex of his flight, floating in apparent freefall, his suit gave him one final gentle push and he landed in front of a door highlighted in purple.
A pair of surprised guards blinked at him from either side of the door for just a heartbeat before he dropped them with a spray of automatic fire. Beside him, the rest of the Valkyries landed in near silence. The air around them shimmered from the heat. Their breacher stepped up to the door, feeling at the edges. The specialized sensors in his gloves mapped out what was within to micrometer precision and he began moving with perfect efficiency. He pulled a line of plasma cord from his belt and applied it to the door like an artist drawing his masterpiece.
The cord burned a brilliant blue as he laid down the final piece. The light was so intense that Niko’s visor went dark for a moment, leaving him almost blind. He looked away, flicking the setting on his rifle to stun and setting his grenades to non-lethal. As the final bit of cord went out, their breacher gave the door a light press with one hand and it collapsed inwards. Before it had even hit the ground, a swarm of bullets flew out like a broken wasps nest.
Niko pulled the pin on one of his grenades and tossed it into the room followed right behind by another grenade from the breacher. A quick countdown began in the corner of his HUD. As the countdown hit zero, the grenade exploded with an eardrum-shattering boom and a flash of light even brighter than the plasma cord had been. At the same time, he and the breacher turned the corner and slipped into the room beyond.
If he hadn’t been in his suit he would never have been able to make sense of the chaos around him and he would never have had time to switch his rifle back from stun. But he was in his armor and that was all that mattered. His rifle clicked automatically back to lethal and he held down the trigger and didn’t let go. His rifle spat death at several thousand rounds per minute. The xenos didn’t stand a chance. When the bullets stopped flying they had a new problem, none of the smoking, bullet-riddled corpses were highlighted in purple. Instead, a second much more imposing armored door blinked purple highlights at them like some video game.
Their breacher shook his head and got back to work, somehow moving with even more efficiency than before. Which was just as well since the sensors of one of the operators outside picked up the sound of xenos coming toward their position. In seconds, the second door was blazing and Niko flicked his rifle back to stun as he moved behind concealment.
This time when the door opened, there was no fire. The breacher peaked the barrel of his rifle into the room and it relayed data to the rest of the operators. The room inside was lavish. Or it must have been to a pre-FTL native. It was dominated by a large table and sitting behind it was their primary objective, glowing a happy purple and smoking something that would have obscured Niko’s view if not for his suit's sensors. Other than that, the room was empty.
Niko entered, raising his rifle at the xeno, “Hands in the fucking air! ”
Their objective ignored them, continuing to smoke. The breacher followed him into the room a second later, “Hands in the fucking air!” he echoed, blasting the translated speech at full volume.
The objective put down its smoking thing and raised three sets of hands into the air, then it spoke, making farting and hissing sounds at Niko, who could not understand a word of it. He ignored the xeno’s words, “stand up and turn around and this will all be over in a minute.”
As he said this, he flicked through the menu in his HUD and turned on his audio input translator.
“I was told that you would come for me.” the alien said, the translator giving the thing a deep, resonant voice, “your hairless monkies warned there would be consequences if we refused.”
Niko cursed, pulling out a pair of cuffs, specially tailored to fit the objective's specific freakish proportions, “shut it.”
It did not, “they showed us what happened to those who refused, you thought it would scare us into following. It has not.” The objective clamped down its mandibles and Niko heard a faint crack, “But I will not be paraded around my cities like some sort of sick attraction. You will have to watch me turn a martyr.”
One of its several hands reached out and slapped a large, blue button on the desk. At the same time, the breacher put half a dozen shotgun shells flying at the objective, turning it to mush.
“No don’t-”
Niko bucked, pulled off the VR jack, and gasped. He twisted his hands from their place in the suit and made to stand. A pair of hands pushed him back, “that would not be wise.”
“That was incredible. I’ve never experienced anything like it,” he gushed, blinking his eyes in a vain attempt to focus them on the person before him. He couldn’t remember where he was, or what he was doing. The fog that clouded his mind was thicker than any he had ever experienced.
“And that is just a taste of the adventure you can experience if you join up with Terra Military Group.”
Niko gasped, wiping a sheen of sweat from his forehead, “was that real?”
The woman hummed, “the operation that you just took part in was real and the experience that you had was entirely through the unaltered point of view of one Captain Alexander Sinew. But some parts had to be removed for the sake of operational security.”
He squinted up at where the woman was, imagining fighting across the stars. His eyes may not have been working perfectly but his consciousness had never been clearer, “Give me a few minutes and I’ll sign.”
The woman gave him a curt smile and nodded her head, “I’ll have the paperwork for you waiting,” she stuck her hand out, “welcome to the TMG, bringing the light of humanity across the stars.”
