2023.03.24 12:40 Designedby3d 3D printed armour

3D printed armour
We've got a request for custom armor from the Destiny game. This was nothing new for us as we did a lot of cosplay costumes and Destiny is the most popular. But our customer wanted armor completely printed on a 3D printer. We explained that for comfortably wearing we make it from eva foam, and we can print some parts, but customer wanted a fully printed armor. It was also of higher sizes at the customer's request. After a couple of months of work, we've done it. Printed armor, LEDs type in front, back and sides parts. Powered by the accumulator, as the batteries will not withstand so many leds. We did it and the customer has already received it 🤗 Last 2 pics are references.

CVC, aka Church Village Collective, is a jam band formed out of Wales in 2019. The band hails from Church Village, a large village just outside of Cardiff. Their songwriting takes influences from the Motown era while their look is reminiscent of 60s and 70s psych rock bands such as CSN and the Beatles. CVC leans heavily into funky three-part harmonies and riffs, to the point where you can smell the music. The band has generated quite a buzz with having only an EP and album out, coming out in 2022 and 2023 respectively. This year will be their big tour debut for the US with Bonnaroo being a major stop. This will be a legendary tent set that will be talked about for years and years to come.

2023.03.24 12:37 Ashamed_Put2809 I think my bf (23M) is going to regret proposing to me (19F)

I (19F) and my bf (23M) have been dating for 9 months. I’m from the west coast and he’s from the east coast so we met online. I met up with him twice both time staying multiple weeks and I finally moved in with him 3 months ago. Our relationship is so perfect, it would make a Wattpad author cry. We’ve never had a fight and when we disagree on something we always talk it out and makeup immediately. I have never been happier especially since this is my first healthy relationship. Three months into us dating while we were still in the honeymoon phase, he asked me to marry him. There was no ring and no grand proposal but I didn’t care. I was over the moon and I started planning the wedding. We were going to get married right after Halloween. I would constantly talk about it and discuss plans with him but I noticed he didn’t rly engage in the conversations and would just say yes to everything I said. A few weeks later he called me and said he doesn’t want to marry me yet and that he shouldn’t have asked so soon. I was devastated. I now realize that it was too early and we hadn’t even lived together at that point so I understand why he said that. But at the time it took me awhile to get out of the depression I was in because I felt so rejected, but lately he’s been very suspicious. The other night while he was at work he asked me for my ring size casually and when I asked when he was doing he said “why is gold so damn expensive.” Then when he got home he looked through Pinterest and asked me what type of gem I would like for my future wedding ring. Last night he took me to dinner and he told me he just got his state tax return already which was $400 and he said he spent it. I asked him what he bought and he said “none of your business.” He always tells me what he buys especially with that much money. He even tells me when he gets a drink from the gas station. During dinner he was texting his friend and when I asked what they were talking about he said “his big plan” and wouldn’t elaborate. He thinks he’s being slick but it’s severely obvious what his plan is. When I realized, I was super excited at first but then I got scared. I keep thinking how he’ll regret it again and I’ll be crushed. I love him so much and I can’t wait to spend forever with him but I’m just so scared because I just don’t know if I can handle another rejection. I can’t tell if I’m crazy for feeling this way or if he’s even going to propose because I have a tendency to blow things out of proportion. At this point I’m just so confused on what I want and what to do, if anything at all. I can’t tell if I have a right to be feeling this way and if I should say something to him. But if I say anything and he is planning to propose, I’ll ruin it and I do really want to marry him. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated.
TLDR: my bf is proposing a second time because he took back the first one and I’m afraid he’ll regret it again.

2023.03.24 12:36 Cold_Climate7836 Where to get decently priced Wax in the US

Some may have missed my post discussing sharing candle knowledge, I saw a few comments asking where to get cheap wax. I will give you guys four websites I think are pretty good. In the next post I will get into where to buy great fragrance that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg either.
I typical use California Candle Supply. (https://calcandlesupply.com/) This place probably has some of the best priced wax I’ve seen!
Let’s take Coconut 83. This is a wax I recommended because it’s very easy to work with in my experience, very good for container candles. (If anyone in the comments wants to help out on wick suggestions that’d be great. CD wicks are OKAY, but definitely cause soothing, mushrooming at times.)
California Candle Supply has the Accu-Blend version. A 44lbs box with SHIPPING INCLUDED is $130.00 dollars.
If you compare this to MAKESY we have a whooping $205.00 and we haven’t even got to shipping. Yikes. So hopefully this saves you guys some money!
Another example is they have Golden 464 at $113.00(SHIPPING INCLUDED) 45lbs bag. Other websites have 464 at $113.00 but shipping is not included. Personally I think you get a lot of bang for your buck with this website.
They carry different types of wax with high descriptive cons and pros of the wax. They also carry beeswax that somewhat cheaper than other websites, but beeswax is expensive everywhere. So the prices are about comparable. They carry different Paraffin and/or coconut waxes, as I said I got my Coconut 83 wax from here where was wonderful.
The waxes I have tried and enjoyed were Coconut 83, Soy Tart Wax. I have Soy 10 and Coco Bright 11 in the cart to try next and I’ll share my results for those interested.
Down Below are three more websites where I have noticed and noted that wax from these companies is cheaper and float in the same price range. Also I have personally experience with their wax, and customer service. Anyone in the comments please feel free to add more places outside the US or in if your aware.

2023.03.24 12:35 Cerb-r-us Remembering the weirdness of Shadow Fight 2

So I've started properly getting into fighting games after years of trying and giving up, and this has caused me to reflect on a fighting game I had forgotten about but still sunk an embarrassing amount of time into.
With the exception of the first entry, the Shadow Fight franchise is mobile-exclusive, which has significant implications for its design. Not only that, but Shadow Fight games also include RPG elements (for completely non-P2W reasons), so now character progression has to factor in. These, and other, reasons combine to create one of the weirdest designed fighting games I have ever witnessed, let alone played: some shit that would leave you speechless if you saw it in a desktop or home console fighting game.
Below are some of the highlights:
NOTE: I have only played the second entry in the franchise, so that is the game I will focus on (though 5 seems pretty similar).
Controls and Speed:
The worse ergonomics and smaller real estate of mobile touch screens means mobile fighters cannot be as fast or intricate as their larger-hardware counterparts. First, combat in Shadow Fight games is so slow that most moves are actually reactable (though whether you can capitalise on it has more to do with your character's recovery time). If you had an IRL fight with someone right now, it would be faster than Shadow Fight 2. I point this out because other mobile fighting games - like KOF Arena - manage to work while being much faster. Maybe the physics engine depends on it (more on that later). As it happens, the reactability can result in some cool moments of ducking-and-weaving around enemy attacks, like in a martial arts movie.
The first defining part of Shadow Fight 2's controls is that there are no real 'input gymnastics'. It seems to take after platform fighters by having variation come mostly from directional buttons. You can win a Shadow Fight 2 match with an APM under 100. Besides that, there is one punch button, one kick button, and two other buttons I will get to later.
The second defining part of Shadow Fight 2's controls is that you block by standing still. You can still bypass it with command grabs (standing next to your enemy, and pressing punch and directing away from your character), and seems to be the exact opposite of Fantasy Strike's approach.
Hitboxes and Hurtboxes:
Here is where we start getting egregious.
Shadow Fight 2 has physics-based character models. This means that whenever a character is - say - knocked down or anti-aired, their models ragdoll. To be consistent, the character's hurtbox changes in real time in accordance with how the model looks. Hitbox is directly linked to the shape and position of an attacking object (e.g. limb or weapon), and hurtbox is directly linked to the shape and position of any non-attacking or lower-priority attacking object (not counting armor). To put it another way, the boxes** are** the player model. This creates all kinds of fucked up situations and effectively leaves any non-boss character with a flat 0 i-frames on any of their moves. For example, if you dodge-roll in reaction to an attack and even a small group of pixels of an attacking object hits you, you will be dealt damage and - because your character is in motion - you will ragdoll. As you can imagine, this creates some monstrous Oki.
Special Hits:
This apparently was not enough for Nekki (dev). They also decided to have mechanics for dealing extra damage under certain circumstances, like in an FPS. For example, you deal double damage on hits to the head. To add insult to injury (pun not intended), there are also random critical hits, though I don't remember how much that adds. What matters is that, if an enemy hits you in the head with a weapon slightly better than your armour and that becomes a crit, it can wipe off more than half of your health.
I must admit I kind of have a soft spot for these. They're complete bullshit, but even being on the receiving end can be a really cool experience when paired with the game's pretty good sound design and the slowdown that happens.
Spells and Projectiles:
These are the two other buttons I mentioned earlier. Projectiles do what you expect. They are solid weapons that always sail vertically across the entire screen, and despite most anti-zoning techniques not really being viable in a game like this, most of them can be used an unlimited amount of times.
This game also has spells, such as Fireballs, lightning strikes, meteorites, and even a buzzsaw. Like the head and critical hits, they too are devastating, and high-level players gain a chemical dependency on them. Unlike projectiles spells have cooldowns in addition to their recovery time: like if Samurai Shodown added an MMO magic system.
Online:
Shadow Fight 2 is singleplayer only. Of course it is. This game came out before rollback was popularised, so pairing that kind of delay with an already slow-as-hell game would have been a terrible idea. So the online functionality I can remember comes in two forms.
  1. You could fight other people's character builds, controlled by AI. For this mode, all weapon and equipment stats were 'flattened' to a base level so that - say - a level 1 knife could actually compete with a level 23 staff, thereby expanding the pool of beatable characters.
  2. Raid bosses. Essentially multiple players would collectively fight this one boss by fighting them individually in their own localised matches, and whatever damage was dealt to each one of their 'manifestations' would be applied to a singular, shared lifebar. Whoever dealt the most damage would win (with prizes given to runners up).
Conclusion:
Hopefully I have illustrated just how strange Shadow Fight 2 was from a fighting game design perspective. The more I think about it, the more I wonder how many of the designers had even played fighting games before. If you remember anything I've omitted, I'd enjoy seeing in the replies.

2023.03.24 12:34 fatherandyriley Fixing the X-Men films redone

A while back I did an X-Men rewrite and u/killthebatman2475 credited me for my ideas when he did his own version. Looking at his version has made me want to go over my own rewrite again so I'd like to thank them for their help with this.
Here's the link to the original
Here's the film order:
X-Men
X-Men 2
X-Men 3: The Last Stand
X-Men 4: Dark Phoenix
X-Men Origins Wolverine
X-Factor
X-Men First Class
The Wolverine
X-Men: Days of Future Past
X-Men the Shadow King
X-Men: Apocalypse
Logan
X-Men: Onslaught
With Deadpool I can't think of anything that I'd change. For Deadpool 2 I'm thinking of having Mojo as the main villain who kidnaps Deadpool as I figured that could be a lot of fun.

2023.03.24 12:32 RandoMcGuvins It suddenly just hit me. Her urn isn't her, her pictures that I still talk to aren't her. She is really gone in every sense of the word. I thought I was starting to heal up then this.

I've been carrying her urn from my bedroom, living room and office. Like I did for her senior years. I've been talking to her urn and framed pictures regularly.
It sort of just hit me that isn't her and she is really gone. I don't know if that makes sense but it felt like she was still with me. Like if I closed my eyes she would be there. Now her urn just feels like an empty object. She was the most snuggly loving little old lady not some inert wooden box with ashes. I don't know how else to explain it, I hope that makes sense.
Wtf why did this come out of nowhere? I was finally having an okish week.

2023.03.24 12:29 Specialist_Court_228 Is my instructor a creep?

I try to give as much context I can:
So this 50yo old school dude usually makes one appearance during 2 month long beginner class and teaches some basic wrestling/bjj stuff. In exchange for the visitor appearance, the gym owner lets the dude visit the gym for free. (There is some basic gym equiment, boxing ring etc)
This time, he liked our group so much that he volunteered to have a class every week if we keep showing up. Says that it’s been a long time since he last time had such a motivated group of beginners. All 8 of us are between 20-30yo.
So we keep showing up, the lessons are great but then the instructor starts to throw these bit odd comments every now and then.
Examples: During warm up: ”Hey we all know you have nice ass but keep it down!” (Happened twice for two different people)
Me in turtle position as uke: ”So place your hand in this line, as you can see from this muscular young mans upper back, like this”
After rolling with a woman: ”Damn what a spicy girl! I had to actually try and use some force! (Keeps talking about it in the locker room)
After rolling with another woman: ”Woah how powerfull you are and damn those elbows! Uff my inner thighs are so sore!”
Also some comments about the women’s weight, size etc. And when having trouble performing a move hi ”jokingly” starts to curse/threaten about how he is soon going to start kicking and punching. This just makes it harder to ask if someone does not understand something.
These comments you could maybe pass as this dude is a bit old school etc, BUT he decides to then DM on instagram the women he rolled with afterwards.
One of the women feel creeped out by this and overall our group has a weird feeling now going to his lessons.
So are we just too sensitive and we should toughen up or should we say something to someone?

2023.03.24 12:28 Due_Display5648 Am I in love?

Hello everyone,
I have a rather weird question for you, and more than an answer I am seeking your experience to which I could relate.

TL;DR: I act like I am in love but I don’t feel the emotions (at least not as intense as I used to). Is it how mature people feel in relationships, am I dead inside or are we a bad match?

I (26M) am in a relationship with a girl (25F). We were dating for 3 months, and in a relationship for 1 month. I care deeply about her, I wish her the best, I am sad when she is sad, and I care about her in general. I also think of her multiple times a day, I want to spend as much time as possible with her, and I want to text her all the time. We are intimate, I feel safe around her, and I don’t need to pretend anything when I am with her. I like her very much and I dare to say I want to say „I love you“ in a genuine way.
However.
The issue is that I haven't been in a relationship before, so my only experience is when I fell in love, without having any kind of reciprocity from the person of my interest. I remember that I knew damn well I was in love with her – it was just a cocktail of emotions that filled me whenever I was around those people. I had butterflies in my stomach, my voice was shaking, and I was literally dreaming of them so I spent more time asleep than woke just so I could be with them in my head since it was not possible in reality. I know this deep feeling of love, where I would get extremely jealous every second I saw someone else around her, and I would be willing to die for them. I must add that at that time I was like 14-18 years old. I remember the first time I fell in love, I talked to one girl I didn’t really think of much, and then went to sleep. And the next morning, something changed, I could feel it so intensely as if the entire world has shaken its foundation, I was just filled with ecstasy whenever I talked to her, saw her or just thought of her. However, since then, I didn’t fall in love in such a way with anyone.
With my current girlfriend, I feel none of those emotions. I felt butterflies (or rather anxiety) only before the first date, but once we actually met, it stopped immediately and I didn’t feel it ever since. I am not really jealous of her, I simply trust her, and if she would cheat on me, I wouldn’t really care that much as I would see it as a huge red flag that she has the urge to cheat this early in a relationship. Honestly, that's my main issue, that I wouldn’t be all that mad if she suddenly leave me. I wouldn’t beg her to stay, I would simply tell her „okay, I wish you all the best then“ and leave. I am not really sure how willing I would be to die for her. And I generally don’t feel this cocktail of emotions I used to have when I was a teenager in love.
The issue I am having is that based on my actions towards her (and my thought process regarding her), I am in fact in love with her, as she is my top priority on my list of priorities (when you look up „how to tell if you're in love, I check all the boxes on those webpages“). However, I don’t feel it, at all. As I wrote earlier, I deeply care about her, but that's it. No crazy emotions, no willingness to die for our relationship, no jealousy, no feelings of ecstasy whenever I see her. I just enjoy being around her, that's it. And I am wondering, what is wrong with me? Is it that I was immature back then and I couldn’t control myself, and now I am just mature? Or is it that I am dead inside, because of my cynicism, that I can’t feel deep emotions anymore (I must add that I consider myself a very stable person in terms of emotions)? Or is it that we are a bad match, that I simply can’t love her for whatever reason that I don’t understand (even though I am attracted to her physically)? Because right now I feel like I am lying to her when I say „I love you“.
Any thoughts, experiences, or advice? Would appreciate any thoughts.

2023.03.24 12:23 Wolfblood-is-here The unquiet dead of Dromos 6

When first we landed on Dromos 6, we thought they were a myth.
Dromos 6, The Planet of Cracked Rocks. Our war against the T'tana had been raging in the sky for six months and on the ground for two before I arrived. Part of the 42nd Vanguard, the tip of the High Council's spear. The 7th Vanguard had set up landing sites with the help of the Yonos privateers, we were coming alongside the 16th and 31st plus a few mercenaries to start gaining some real ground.
The T'tana are not to be underestimated, but to my mind they look scarier than they are. Their formidable size makes them especially dangerous in close quarters but means you've got a big target to aim for. They aren't stupid by any means, but whether its bad doctrine or a quirk of their insectoid origins, they seem to struggle with independent decision making; their soldiers will always look to the officers and the officers will make bad decisions if communications are cut off. Still, they had the foothold, and the many canyons and caves and sandy dunes of Dromos 6 favoured their physiology and strategy better than ours; we are after all more at home in the open water, where sightlines are long and we aren't limited to two dimensions of movement.
I was stationed at a patrol base overlooking the river Omel, under the command of Captain Ghatus. Ghatus couldn't have been older than 100 given his rank, yet war had aged him, his shell already turning blue around the joints, the only hints of youth remaining being the quickness of his step and the fire in his eyes. We were upstream of an old colony that the T'tana had destroyed thirty years ago, when they first arrived, that belonged to a young species of sapient mammals known as 'humans'. We weren't told much about them, they had only been living on the planet for a short time and had only set up a couple settlements before the T'tana wiped them out. Those of us that bothered to consult the codex found they are a type 1.9 civilisation, they're working on a star harvester they refer to as a 'dyson swarm' but since construction is not yet completed they do not have full membership to the galactic community. Dromos 6 was a frontier colony for them, one of a few dozen they were setting up after discovering warp travel. Other than that, even the codex only listed the broad strokes, complex social system, unified government, comparable to us in size, etc etc.
We first took proper notice due to the whisperings of T'tana prisoners and civilians. Many believed humans were still alive on the planet, that they haunted the place like angry spirits. At first we thought it was the usual stories, making the humans seem scarier and more capable to justify their unprovoked first strike, and to have a boogieman to blame for every piece of broken machinery and deserting conscript. Yet the fear was very real, and no boogieman would explain the images of slit throats and eviscerated patrols. After a few weeks we began finding unlabelled supply pods and abandoned camps, and started ourselves to believe in spirits and unquiet dead.
I met these humans after we suffered a T'tana ambush. Automatic weapons cut down three men including our sergeant, and left our communications technician and Captain Ghatus wounded before we fled through a smokescreen. After a few hours of slow march, we sought shelter in a cave, and that's when she appeared. She seemed an aspiration, a vision brought on by heat and lack of water, naked save for some cloth, her skin the same tone as the sands, walking out of the sun. She yelled to us, and waved her limbs, a warning it seemed, and we braced ourselves for attack. Then she began gesturing to the cave mouth, and we noticed for the first time, nearly invisible, a tripwire.
She came to us, and guided us inside; with the choice between trusting her and letting two bleed out, we followed. There were more humans in the cave, a simple camp with boxes of supplies. They did not seem to regard us with suspicion, and handed us a crate of medical supplies, rudimentary but functional. Looking at them, we could not tell if they were civilian or solider, eventually realising they were somewhere in between, peaceful folk turned violent, dangerous not from learning warfare from codex and instruction but action. Death was their tutor and he taught them all his ways.
By the time we woke they were gone, alongside all their supplies but those we would need to stagger back to base. We were their allies, but not their kin, and they faded back into the mix of light and shadows from whence they came, back to haunt our mutual enemy, back to the place between life and death they had been forced to reside.
I never saw humans that close again, only glimpses: a silhouette on a ridge before a T'tana scout fell dead, a faint set of footprints leading away from the aftermath of a hidden explosive, a cave empty save for drawings on the wall showing victory in a bloody battle lacking the honour of those who make fighting a game instead of a way of being.
The T'tana have retreated from Dromos 6 now, but we have not conquered the planet, and if we stay beyond our welcome we too shall be haunted by vengeful spirits. That place is sacred and forbidden ground, every rock a monument to creatures that do not care if they are angels or daemons. It is not ours to take.
Signed, acting Sergeant (confirmation of field promotion pending) Aztun, 42nd Vanguard, veteran of Dromos 6.

2023.03.24 12:19 qUxUp (OC) I originally wrote this long review of the Mobapad M9-HD as a Nintendo Switch controllers review. However this is a multi-platform controller and as I found the controller really good, it might be interesting to gamers on other platforms as well.

You can just ignore any nintendo references and focus on the primary functions: the rumble, analog triggers, mechanical buttons, rgb-lights, swappable ABXY buttons, included swappable thumbsticks that come in 3 sizes.
TLDR: Out of all the Nintendo Switch controllers I currently own it's most similar to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. The glossier finish of the Pro Controller is smoother and looks more attractive. It's worth noting that in a real world use the Mobapad M9-HD sits better in the hands due to matte finish & textured grips. If you value ergonomics and like the the Pro Controller (especially the HD-rumble), it's likely that you will enjoy the the M9-HD. For the $75 retail price ($6 more than Pro Controller) you will get a considerably better HD-rumble than the Pro Controller has (this surprised me the most), analog triggers with two positions, mechanical buttons, mappable backpaddles, thumbsticks in various sizes and multiple additional features.
Disclaimer: I started playing videogames in the early 90s (a NES clone was my first console, followed by Gameboy, PC etc). Outside of Reddit I've worked in the gaming tech field & tech journalism for about two decades (Europe/Estonia). After providing the makers of Mobapad (Guangzhou Xinxiang Culture Co. Ltd.) with my credentials (& examples of past work), I asked if I could test one of their controllers with the purpose of writing a review intended for the /Switch/ & /NintendoSwitch/ subreddits. They sent me the Mobapad M8 and Mobapad M9-HD. The review is be based solely on my experiences. I get to keep the controllers and won't be receiving additional compensation in any other form (no commission fees, affiliate marketing or ad-revenue etc). I don't have a social media presence (or followers) elsewhere. As my Nintendo Switch controller collection grows, I might write more reviews for our Switch-related subreddits.
Cheers :)
The Mobapad M9-HD Controller (with the tallest thumbsticks)
What this review is and is not.
There are many ways of covering a tech product: from a highly technical analysis aimed at the tech-savvy crowd to an emotional hype-piece. The Mobapad M9-HD will be reviewed as a controller on the Nintendo Switch platform and compared to other Switch controllers that I own. A practical amount of real life examples with a select amount of technical details will be included (with brief explanations that are understandable to people who might be new to gaming). This review will not cover every detail about the M9-HD (such as all of the features, how to change various settings, how the controller works on other platforms etc).
The package.
Out of all the Nintendo Switch Controllers I own, the box of this controller is the best looking. The artwork is lovely (IT'S A TIGER ON THE BOX - I think), the box itself is sturdy. While you can't use the box to increase your aim in a videogame, you can put it on a shelf if you are a collector or someone who likes boxes.
What's in the box?
The controller itself, a USB-dongle receiver, a high quality braided USB-cable, a manual (in English), 4 sets of thumbsticks and 2 sets of replaceable buttons (Switch/PC layout).
On the left: Hori Split Pad Pro. On the right: the box of Mobapad M9-HD
Lets talk about the extra buttons & potential for modding.
Having two sets of buttons is a welcome extra if you play on multiple platforms. The manual mentions that you can change the buttons, but it doesn't explain how to change them. It also does not say that you can/have to remove the faceplate. Turns out that you have to pry open the faceplate of the controller. While I removed the biggest portion of the faceplate, it really felt that I might break something while doing it. The faceplate is in three parts & is connected to the controller with plastic connectors. I doubt that anyone who plays on multiple platforms (using the same controller) will be motivated enough to swap the buttons from the Switch to PC layout and back on a regular basis.
Note: The plastic connectors will probably get slightly less stiff with a few removals of the faceplate, so it will become easier to change it. Using magnetic connectors for the faceplate would probably have been a better choice (like on the Mobapad M8 controller). It's also worth noting that for those of us who like modding their controller, the ability to remove the faceplate is a nice extra to have. As it makes the customization process easier if you want to paint the faceplate for example.
RGB-lights!
The controller has some neat RGB-lights. They are visible in 3 locations & in 8 different colors. The lights have 3 different modes (on, off, breathing). While changing the modes and colors of RGB-lights in a very rapid fashion, I was able to cause an error. The lights didn't change color even though I pressed the button combination to change them. After waiting for about 5-10 seconds the colors started to change correctly again. I was not able to reproduce this bug later.
Do you need RGB-lights? Not really. But they look pretty and when Christmas comes around you can turn on red or yellow lights and be in a festive mood.
Mechanical A/B/X/Y buttons.
Simply put the A/B/X/Y buttons are mechanical, they are clicky and a pleasure to use. In comparison to regular buttons (such the ones used in the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, Hori Split Pad Pro & Nintendo Switch Joycons) the mechanical buttons in the Mobapad M9-HD are more resnposive, can be pressed with less force and make a small audible click when you press them. These days there are many keyboards that also come with mechanical switches. If you haven't had a chance to use a mechanical controller, you might have used a mechanical keyboard (or a mouse) which can produce a similar click and feeling when pressed.
Note: In a way I feel that not including the RGB-lights in the A/B/X/Y buttons is a missed opportunity.
Closeup of the D-pad, RGB-lights, textured grip and buttons on the Mobapad M9-HD
What about the D-pad?
It's a good D-pad. The Mobapad M9-HD D-pad has a slightly lowered/concave area around the D-pad similarly to the Nintendo 64 controller's D-pad. Pressing the D-pad on M9-HD takes slightly less force than it does on the Pro Controller's D-pad. On the Switch I'd say that to this day my favorite D-pad is on the 8Bitdo SN30pro (which is on the stiffer side in terms of how it handles & the size is perfect). The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller's D-pad is somewhere between the M9-HD & SN30pro. I usually play handheld, but when I play with a controller, I don't usually choose controllers based on a genre. So overall, I'll probably stick to Mobapad M9-HD for most genres. On the rare occasions when I feel nostalgic, I'd probably go for the 8Bitdo SN30pro because it reminds me of my childhood & first consoles.
Note:: Since the A/B/X/Y and thumbsticks are swappable, I think that it might be an interesting feature to have a swappable D-pad as well. One of the obvious inspiration points for M9-HD has been the Xbox One Elite controller which has a swappable D-pad.
How are the thumbsticks?
While there are 4 sets of thumbsticks included, the thumbsticks come in 3 different heights. All of these are concave thumbsticks. The shortest thumbsticks are about 19mm wide and similar to the Hori Split Pad Pro. The medium & high thumbsticks are 18mm wide (similar to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller). The original Nintendo Switch joycons are about 15mm wide. Changing the thumbsticks takes a few seconds: you pull the thumbstick straight up and swap it to whichever of the included thumbsticks you fancy. On the technical side it's worth mentioning that these are ALPS thumbsticks.
What's the benefit of changing thumbsticks?
It's a neat extra that could make the controller more comfortable to hold, eespecially if you have medium/large hands or play longer gaming sessions. In certain genres (like FPS) higher thumbsticks may make it easier to perform more precise movements. Usually controllers do not come with different sized thumbsticks, but you can buy thumbstick extenders which are sold by various brands with the starting price at around $12.
Ergonomics & how the controller feels to hold.
Out of the Nintendo Switch controllers that I own, the closest comparison would be to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. It's worth noting that the Pro Controller is slightly glossy and feels smooth in the hand. This makes the build of Pro Controller feel a tiny bit better. The Mobapad M9-HD Controller is made out of matte plastic and has textured grips. The texture is slight yet aggressive enough to make the controller feel very secure. The location of backpaddles feels ergonomic. Pressing the backpaddles feels nice and you can map them to various buttons.
The M9-HD is currently the most ergonomic Nintendo Switch controller that I have used. The overall comfort comes from the solid build, different sized thumbsticks, superior triggers, mappable backpaddles and the weight plus the slightly textured grip.

The included swappable thumbsticks & extra A/B/X/Y buttons of the Mobapad M9-HD
Gyro.
Gyro is present and by default quite sensitive. In general gyro isn't my preferred way of playing videogames, so take my "quite sensitive" impressions with a grain of salt, as I've also used gyro on the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and also found it a bit too sensitive for my liking as well.
Triggers, analog triggers!
One of the major features that makes the Mobapad M9-HD stand out is the fact that the triggers are analog. In practical terms it means that you can hold the analog trigger down partially, thus giving a limited amount of acceleration to your car in racing games. This makes makes it much more satisfying & easier. On regular controllers (such as the Nintendo Switch Joycons or the Pro Controller) you can't do that and have to constantly press and release the trigger to accelerate, without the option to accelerate lets say 30% while just slightly pressing on the trigger.
Sadly analog triggers function as regular triggers in most videogames on the Nintendo Switch platform (unless the developer of a certain videogame has included analog trigger support to that specific game). As far as I know, a very select number of videogames on the Nintendo Switch include analog trigger support. GRID Autosport being one of them, I've tested it with the Mobapad M9-HD & the analog triggers work. If any of you know other Nintendo Switch titles that have analog trigger support, I'd appreciate your comment. I want to try them out and confirm if the triggers work in those games.
Another neat feature of Mobapad M9-HD triggers is that they have two different positions you can choose between. The shorter travel distance position has a nice clicky sound to it. As you can imagine, the shorter distance makes it possible to press the triggers very rapidly. The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller trigger feels slightly mushy in comparison. I like using both controllers, but the M9-HD feels better. The longer travel distance position of the trigger is also nice. In terms of gameplay, it feels more relaxed. In my gaming experience the shorter distance is better for something like shooters or fighting games but longer is better for racing. But it's Nintendo Switch after all, so choosing which one is for you is a matter of preference. The good thing is that on the M9-HD you have a choice when it comes to trigger travel distance. As far as I know 8Bitdo also has a controller that has analog triggers with some adjustability, but I can't comment on those as I don't own that specific controller.
Note: It's neat that more companies such as 8BitDo and Mobapad have started to produce controllers that allow you to configure how the triggers work. Hopefully we'll see companies produce more joycons as well as controllers that have more features at some point. I'm sure Nintendo itself could pull it off easily, but I doubt they have any plans to do something like that in the near future.
The HD-vibration motor.
Oh boy! This is probably the biggest draw of using this controller. I still remember the first time I felt the vibration motor of Mobapad M9-HD in my hands and I wasn't expecting it. My previously favorite vibration motor of the Switch platform was in the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. I was sure that I will never ever see another company produce something of similar quality for the Switch console.
Mobapad M9-HD did it and truly, the HD-vibration motor on Mobapad M9-HD is better than the Pro Controller's vibration feature. It's hard to explain, but I'll give it a shot. The rumble on Nintendo Switch Pro Controller feels pleasant and doesn't rattle, so it's quiet in a way, but feels very good in the controller when playing and has some depth to the vibration. Mobapad M9-HD is a different beast. It has more weight & power to it in addition to the other features the Pro Controller's vibration motor has. You can instantly feel that it's more powerful than the Pro Controllers HD-vibration. You can feel the bass of rumble in your hands when playing. And make no mistake, the increased power of Mobapad M9-HD vibration doesn't feel creaky like some of the lower priced controllers can be. It feels powerful, well balanced, doesn't make too much sound and if I could, I'd buy joycons with the same HD-vibration motor.
Note: As the quality of the HD-vibration on Mobapad M9-HD surprised me greatly, I reached out to Mobapad and asked why the vibration feels different than in other Nintendo Switch controllers. I received the following reply: "Our controller features linear motors, which are the most costly part and what sets it apart from other controllers." In a way this explains why the vibration is different from other 3rd party controllers, but why it feels so much better than the official Pro Controller's vibration still puzzles me (maybe a trade secret?). Maybe the motor is bigger or has a better position or something along those lines, who knows.
What else is there?
There are multiple features that I won't even attempt to cover (the review is already a long read). The controller currently comes in black, white and purple. For the purpose of the review I asked for the purple model as it looks the most cheerful. There's also the NFC function (I was not able to test this as I don't own any Amiibos).
Final thoughts.
The Mobapad M9-HD is a well executed example of a premium controller that seems to be mainly targeted at the experienced gamer demographic. It's priced at $75 and is one of the highest priced Nintendo Switch controllers out there. In terms of features it clearly competes with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller ($69.99-109.99$ depending on the color scheme) & 8Bitdo Ultimate Controller ($69.99). The price is worth it for those who benefit from the extra features (best HD-rumble, ergonomics, mechanical buttons, additional thumbsticks etc).
To me personally the pricing seems fitting to the features that the controller brings, however there are a few more aspects to consider.
Will a experienced gamer benefit from the features that come with the pricetag? Yes, we will.
Will a newer or casual gamer benefit from the features? Yes, some of them (like the analog triggers, awesome rumble and ergonomics that come with swappable thumbsticks). However I think that since Mobapad as a brand isn't very well known in the EU & US region, some might be hesitant to pay the full retail price.
Mobapad M9-HD just out of the box, next to Mobapad M8, Hori Split Pad Pro, 8Bitdo SN30pro (and the right handle of Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Splatoon Edition.
And here is a comparison table.
I did my best to rate various features of the Switch controllers that I own (in order to give a kind of an overview). Keep in mind that such comparisons are subjective and ratings might vary from person to person (for example someone with very small hands might find the Nintendo Switch Joycons with the grip to be the best controller ever due to their size).
Rating is on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being the worst, 5 being the best).
The price is for the regular model of any controller and is based on the official pricing I found/received. This does not include sales or limited edition color schemes that may cost more.

What could be improved upon:
  1. While the bundled items (such as the different thumbsticks etc) are worth the extra cost to those who use them, it's likely that some of the potential customers might not pay much attention to the included extras and/or just don't benefit from them (since they don't customize their controller in any way and are happy with whatever configuration is quickly accessible out of the box).
  2. A slightly cheaper version of the Mobapad M9-HD that comes with less extras (no replacable buttons or thumbsticks for example) might be something that's worth looking into. Such a move may make it easier to lower the price slightly. An even cheaper model could be closer to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (so something like the current M9-HD but without the option to change thumbsticks or buttons or faceplates).
  3. Increased availability in the western market would be helpful (such as a US & EU official stores or resellers).
  4. My copy of the Mobapad M9-HD had a small slightly sharp corner in one of the joints where the bottom & top part of the controllers case meet). If you hold the controller while gaming, it's unlikely that you would notice it. While it's a minor issue that can be easily fixed with gently sanding the edge with small piece of sandpaper or something abrasive, it's still something that could be fixed in the quality control or production process.
  5. Additional color schemes and designs for the controller might appeal to gamers. For example the colored (Splatoon edition etc) Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers are very popular. Some companies have also produced controllers with a transparent casing which is also something that's worth looking into. An upgraded version with RGB-lit A/B/X/Y buttons would also be neat.
  6. An updated manual that does a better job at explaining all the functions (such as how to replace the A/B/X/Y buttons) would be a welcome change.
  7. The current package is very well produced and has an overall effect on the cost of the item. A slightly smaller package could reduce the production cost.
  8. A semi-glossy version of the controller that uses similar plastic to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is something that would probably be well received by some gamers.

2023.03.24 12:18 IGOTTMT Killer concept: the witch

Real name: Amelia renske Difficulty: very hard Height: medium Terror radius: 32 meters Move speed: 4.4 Lullaby (wailing): 40 meters Weapon: hand when attacking tears will form to make her nails longer Appearance: she wears a much to long white dress that is very dirty near the bottom and drags behind her, her hair is long and black but it never covers her face
Power: cry: press active ability button 1 to cry for 1 second this will apply a 10% hinderd affect for you and anyone in chase with you for 10 seconds this ability has a 10 seconds cooldown. (This affect stacks)
Power: wailing: press active ability button 2 to enter a wailing state (takes 2 seconds). In this state you cannot move as you collapse onto the ground and cry, you become undectable, your lullaby size is doubled, and you can no longer discern which direction it comes from, additionally when in this state you have a third person camera like a survivor and are able to look around like one. (Takes 2 seconds to exit)
Perks:
Absolute agony: you hate that your here and what you have to do. Whenever you miss a basic attack in chase you are stunned for 3/2.5/2 seconds. (this will also count as a stun for the survivor and will activate any perks that requires one) "why?" -amelia renske
Thick skull: you usually break whatever hits you, before it can break you. Whenever you are stunned by a pallet increase the stun by 2/1.5/1 seconds but instantly destroy the pallet. "Your tough but you can't do stuff like that all the time" -juliana renske
Hex: dragged down: you may be going down but not alone. while this hex is lit up you suffer from a 25% reduction speed in breaking actions and killer interactions, survivors also received a 25% speed reduction to healing and unhooking speeds until this hex is cleansed. "Hey let go of me!"
Add ons: brown:
Used handkerchief: increase the hinderd affect of cry by 2%.
Soggy pillow: Cry now only affects the witch increase points in deviousness by 100%.
Scary story: wailing now dosen't make you undetectable and no longer makes survivors unable to discern were your lullaby comes from increase points in deviousness by 100%
Old tissue box: Increase the speed that you enter wailing by 25%
Yellow:
Tear cup: Decrease cooldown of cry by 10%
Clean handkerchief: Increase the hinderd affect of cry by 3%
Childrens book: Increase the lullaby size by 4 meters
Sad photogragh: If you use wailing in chase all survivors will scream revealing their location
Mothers old telescope: Using wailing will increase any aura reading indefinitely until you exit wailing.
Green:
Mothers star map: any survivor affected by cry will have their aura revealed to you.
Bowl of tears: cry can now store up to 2 charges.
Letter of resignation: If you exit chase with a hindered survivor you gain a 10% haste affect for 10 seconds and will remove any hinderd affect.
Slow dance instructions: Cry will now also decrease vault speed by 10% for 10 seconds for any one affected.
Personal handkerchief: Decrease cooldown of cry by 25%
Purple:
Mothers bedtime story: Cry is now a 10 meter aoe around the witch which will also make survivors scream.
Your terror radius and lullaby sizes are swapped and wailing will now increase the size of your terror radius.
Tub of tears: cry is now map wide you can now hold the button to constantly cry and apply a 10% repair slowdown on top of the regular hindered.
Mothers concerned letter: You can now move while wailing at a majorly reduced speed (1.0 mps) you can now instantly exit wailing.
Iridescent:
Photograghs of the past: Cry now has the range of your lullaby and it can be used while wailing cry now makes survivors scream (overtakes mother bedtime story) "... and now it's gone ... never coming back." -Amelia renske
Mothers record player: When wailing is used in chase you release a earsplitting shriek (not actually that would be annoying) all survivors recieve a hard skill check if they fail they stop and cry for 10 seconds or until they are damaged (adrenaline buff: adrenaline will now make survivors stop crying) wailing now has a 120 second cooldown. (This will not affect survivors who are deafened by flashbang or are in a locker). "OH come on you used to love this one." -Juliana renske
Lore: Amelia lived quite the quiet life she did not leave the house often instead she liked to read, her mother however was quite adventurous and would often drag her along to wherever she wanted to, Amelia was always reluctant to go unless they went upto the roof and looked up at the stars that one was always her favorite. One day while waiting for her mother to return home with new books Amelia herself got a little adventurous and took a look upto the attic to snoop around for something new to read she found mostly old photos and letters but did find a big black leather bound book she opened it and started flipping through it, it talked about someone's experience with murder and how they felt about it "they liked it?" Amelia asked herself she kept reading and soon the actions and feelings written within the book began to feel like her own, as she continued to read she felt a swirling within themselves like her own emotions and the ones from the book were fighting eachother for control it worsened and worsened with each flip of the page. She could take it no longer she closed the books and began downstairs to confront her mother about this book but as soon as she took a step down the attic stairs she tripped. she closed her eyes and braced for impact, but when she landed she felt completely fine she opened her eyes and noticed she was no longer in her house instead in some sort of unfamiliar forest. a voice called out it was In a language she didn't know of but she understood perfectly "kill them or suffer yourself" she didn't want to but she knew that she couldn't disobey she knew where she was the book told her that much.
Extras:
stun: she drops and begins sobbing this animation dosen't slow down with longer stuns but instead loops more times
Wall break: she puts her back against it and sits down it breaks behind her and she falls with it(dosen't turn her around)
Pallet/generator break: she places a hand on it and tears cover it breaking it
Weapon clean: she raises a hand in front of her and the tears drip off
Load in: starts with her crying on the floor then she stands up
Pick up: she looks at the survivor then tear tendrils grab at the survivor and begin holding them next to the witch
Hook: she backs up and the tear tendrils hook the survivor cleanly
Notes: this pretty much just a joke killer like a hard mode similar to using no mither all of this is in the same vain looks like it is useful but it's not supposed to be except for the add ons I kinda made them useful, feedback appreciated.

2023.03.24 12:17 qUxUp (OC) I originally wrote this long review of the Mobapad M9-HD as a Nintendo Switch controllers review.

Closing notes:
I hope you like the review :)
My personal thanks to Mr. Zhang & Amy from Guangzhou Xinxiang Culture Co. Ltd.
Edit: I forgot to include this part. If you have some questions about the controller, feel free to ask. I will happily answer all the questions I feel competent enough to answer and the rest I'll collect and reach out to the people who made this. So we'll get answers from the company who built it.

2023.03.24 12:13 viktorius_rex Any tips on a second army for 10th?

Hey just been theory crafting now about getting a second army. Maybe not much but just what to start. I have collected a pretty big death guard army and after ive painted them all(exept morty cause I need some more expiernce.) I thiught of starting another army. I have some necrons and ultramarines from a starter box too. Been thinking of getting at a imperium or xeno army to complemet a chaos one. Id really like to have some packe knight esque army and found dark angels, black templars and grey knights pretty cool. Also found craftworlds cool vut dont really know how they play. So ehich of these armies do you think would be best to collect. How recent are the sculpts and what are there playstyle(only really know the others aethsetic. Edit: should have worded my question better. Im getting a new army when 10th edtion comes out but dont care about the rules just style and general playstyle.
