My name is Jhuan and I live in Brazil. I am a longtime member of this sub, but haven't being asking for games here for a looong time. Today is the release day of Resident Evil 4 Remake, and sadly I can't buy it, for two motives I will list below. Also, I will write a little about how Resident Evil is so important to me ;)
• Why I want RE4 Remake, and why I love Resident Evil so much?
Everything started in 2006, when I was introduced to gaming by my father. I liked watching him playing his PS1 and PS2 games. The first game I watched him play was Resident Evil 2 on PS1, and I consider that one my first game ever. Being a kid, I could finish all games by myself, but my father helped me a lot. Together, we played RE1 and RE2 on PS1, and in 2007 we got a Xbox 360 with RE4 and RE5.
Resident Evil was part of my childhood, and it is till today my favorite game series ever. I played all games from RE0 to RE8 Village (original and remade original trilogy), plus Revelations 1 and 2, Operation Raccoon City, Code Veronica, Dead Aim and Outbreak File #1 and File #2, even Resistance and ReVerse lol. Also, I watched all CGI movies, from Degeneration to Infinite Darkness (watched Milla's movies when I was younger, but didn't like it so much). Resident Evil is the only big franchise (in terms of numerous titles) that I have played almost all games, and I just love all of them.
I have recently played for the first time RE Code Veronica, because of all the hype for a possible Remake. And I just loved it. The characters, gameplay, story and specially the music. Code Veronica has the best OST ever. I really liked enemies and bosses designs too. I recommend it for everyone who hasn't played it yet, and like old RE games and it's used to tank controls.
I have got all achievements for RE2 Remake, RE3 Remake and RE4 on Steam, also, for RE5, Revelations 1 and 2 on Xbox 360, and I am on my way to get all of them for Steam rn (I'm working in RE5 and 6 now).
Well, I just love those games, I love the lore of each one of them. Gaming means Resident Evil for me, since it was my first game series, and my most played series ever.
Resident Evil was very important to me because I met my best friend in RE6. After years of playing RE4, 5 and 6 on Xbox 360, when I got those games on Steam, I found a Steam Group server with a lot of people trying to find players for matchmaking. That's when I first met my friend. Since then, we played tons of hours of RE5, RE6, Revelations 1 and 2 Raid mode and even Resistance and ReVerse. We also played other games, like CSGO, Borderlands 2 and Minecraft. But we always come back to Resident Evil. We love to discuss about RE lore, and when a new trailer drops, we talk about it for hours lol.
Shortening, I play Resident Evil since I was a kid, being introduced to it by my father. I have played almost all games and watched all movies (and memorized all the lines lol). I have met my best friend because of Resident Evil and I play a lot of RE5 and 6 till today with him.
• Why I can't buy it?
Well, RE4 Remake was cheaper than what it is now, in my country. When it was on pre-order, it was BRL200, now it is BRL250. I am on the college now, having to buying a lot of books and instruments for my course, and I am really short on money. I have being able to buy and play almost all Resident Evil games at release, untill RE2 Remake, when I got short on money, and then started to have to wait months to get into the game. The worse thing are spoiler, yeah, I know I played the original game, but I want to re-experience it all over again, as it was a new game. If I could get RE4 gifted to me, it would be an amazing help for my studies, since I could use all money I have right to buy the needed books, and wouldn't have to wait like one year to buy the game.
Shortening, I can't buy it for two motives: 1 - Don't have money to buy my books AND the game rn / 2- The price change made it even harder for me to buy it.

Did you imagine when Grand Theft Auto V came out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2013, that we'd be seeing a fresh retail re-release of it nine years later? Much like The Elder Scrolls Part V: Skyrim—which hails from the same era—GTA V has been an enduring success and is about to get its third re-release.
There's no fancy subtitle or name change; Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series XS consoles on March 15th. That's not to say it's exactly the same experience, though. The versions for the current-gen consoles support 60 FPS, HDR output, ray-tracing, "improved texture quality," faster loading times, "immersive 3D audio," and support for platform-specific features, like the PS5's DualSense haptics.
gtaonline carwash Specifically, there will be a fidelity mode that targets native 3840×2160 resolution with ray tracing and a 30 FPS cap. (Xbox Series S will use upscaling to hit 4K.) Before you sneer at that, note that console versions of GTA V have always had a 30 FPS cap—until now: the new release's "performance mode" will target 60 FPS with dynamic resolution scaling up to 4K, but without ray tracing.

Most likely, it will simply use a lower dynamic resolution to achieve higher-than-30 FPS while keeping ray tracing features. Depending on the upscaling method Rockstar uses, this mode could still look quite good.
Of course, the whole reason that Grand Theft Auto V is still the sensation that it is lies in its online mode. Rockstar has always talked about Grand Theft Auto Online as if it were an entirely separate game, and that's understandable given the differences in their content. But after the re-release launches, it will in fact be available as an entirely separate game—and it'll be free for the first three months after launch on PS5.

GTA Online progress will transfer automatically, although Rockstar cautions players that purchased GTA$ won't transfer across platforms (i.e. PlayStation to Xbox, or vice versa.)
You'll be able to start playing the remastered version of GTA V on March 15, with physical copies coming available In April. We asked Rockstar when these changes would be coming to the PC version, but haven't heard back yet. We'll update this story when we do.

RPG game — “King of Chaos”

Set in a world teeming with challenges and adventures, “King of Chaos” depicts a realm where magic reigns supreme, and time travelers from various eras and dimensions bring with them an assortment of technologies and knowledge. The Empire Knights represent the traditional ruling class.
Players will embody a warrior, venturing and exploring the tumultuous world, completing an array of tasks and challenges, and unearthing hidden secrets and treasures. The game’s core features include combat, exploration, leveling up, equipment, and synthesis. Players must amass experience and wealth through battles, explore diverse terrains and settings, locate equipment and materials, enhance their skills and attributes, and ultimately ascend to the title of King of Chaos.
In combat, players can select different skills and equipment and combine them to devise the optimal battle strategy. Each character possesses unique skills and attributes, requiring players to choose the most suitable character for combat based on varying situations and enemies. MBOX Tokenomics 2.0

1. Burn
The MOBOX platform is expected to burn about 135,000,000 MBOX tokens (the portion of the planned total production in the second year that has not been produced), which is equivalent to 60% of the planned total production in the second year.
2. Adjustment

  1. The daily output of MBOX in the MBOX-BNB LP mining pool has been adjusted. (As Shown Above)
  2. The daily output of MBOX collected by MOMO has been adjusted from 50,000 MBOX to 40,000 MBOX.

Hello everyone here, I'm a newbie player. My character (Boby Jones Jr) is level 14 afeter 10 hours. I learned many things. I didn't check if there was a wiki for this game...After checking I don't see any.

I'd like to get some tips from experienced players. I'm trying to build around companions.

I have "Hacker" (25%dmg against machines and possibility to hack 3 mechs to fight for me) and "Leader" (allies deal +25% and receive -25% dmg) perks.
Perks are "Agility" lvl 5 (more tumbles / dmg increase) / "Cunning" (Crit) / "Rifleman" (Rifle dmg)
Strength 0 / Constitution 3 / Agility 25 / Intel 0 / Wisdom 0 / Charisma 11
Abilities are "Copy" lvl 1 / "Control" lvl 1 (I love this spell) / "Virus" lvl 1 (Never ever used to tbh).
I like Doggy or Nightingale (the medic robot) as companions. They don't use ammo and I was poor.

I bought a 8000 caps POOP (worth 1 gold) to the suspicious dude. But then I opened a box with random caps inside that gave me 70 000 caps. I am now rich. No more longbow, no more Hallberd. I am blocked at the Elite Robot boss, but last time I faced him I had only a Bow and a Crossbow.

Any tips for my build ? I don't really know how I should play it. I think I should not use the medic bot as companion because he doesnt deal damages. I don't know. I kinda want a crit build with meatshields (companions) tanking for me. But every single creature in the game focus me. Is there any perks later that can help? Or I should just build tank and... tank (since enemies pretty much stick to me) ?

One of the things I particularly liked about this season is how the writers gave screen time to the trauma of several female characters.
There were a lot of characters and storylines and yet they took the time to tell Genya's story, to show that Alina too is traumatized and in denial, and to make the audience feel the threat Pekka is for Inej in particular and how awful it could be for her to return to the Menagerie.
Genya's storyline completely broke my heart. I felt so many emotions in front of my screen and I'm so glad she got the screen time she deserved to tell her story. Hat off for Daisy for been such a terrific actress in these scenes! Whether it's to show the horror that a woman can suffer at the hands of a powerful man or to prove Kirigan really went too far (by letting her suffer these horrors and then inflicting others because he refuses she leaves him) or even to confront Nikolai and Alina with what they were trying to escape: his family's mistakes for one and her own trauma for the other, Genya's story was an important one to tell.
As for Alina, I liked that her trauma was subtly disseminated throughout the series until Baghra forced her to express her pain and acknowledge she was a victim of Kirigan as well. I appreciated the series recognizes that although Alina wasn't sexually abused like Inej and Genya, what she went through is also traumatic. In addition to the betrayal of someone she trusted and was beginning to love, there is the physical abuse he put her through. He not only mutilated her with the deer but also used her body to harness her power, treating her like a rag doll he could use as he pleased. It was important to remember to the audience he physically abused her and that in addition to the psychological trauma, she still harbors the repulsion and horror that he physically subjected her to.
As for Inej, it was important to point out that, unlike the guys, she has an additional threat hanging over her: being sexually abused and/or exploited by their enemies. Inej wasn't just fighting for her life but for the control of her life AND body. And the rooftop fight scene was so stressful and hard to watch because you could feel all of Inej's desperation in that fight. What was at stake was more than her life.
My only regret is that after killing the madman, Inej trauma and her story are put aside. As a result, I was less emotionally connected to her the rest of the season. She was badass, sure, but that's all. However, I understand that with all the other traumas to be addressed (Kaz and Jesper's, for example), there was no room for hers.
Finally, even if it was very quick and not clearly explained, it was interesting that Alina recognized Zoya was also a victim of Kirigan and let her and Genya burn the body. Although Zoya didn't go through what Genya or Alina went through, she was a young woman at the mercy of her boss who treated her like a sexual toy before throwing her away like an old sock. Zoya was betrayed by her superior (from a military point of view) and sexually used by him. The focus has never been put on it, but there is something disturbing and not right when a man of power begins a relationship with his young protege. Zoya mentions he called her to his bed when he needed to take his mind off things. Charming...

As the episodes continue to divert more screen time to advantages, it is becoming increasingly obvious who the true contenders are to win this game. While I feel like we've gotten to know most of the characters, only a few are visible enough and given enough depth to really be our potential winners (unless we have an Erika situation on our hands, but I doubt they'd make that mistake again). Sarah got one of the weirdest edits ever for a fourth/fifth boot, as she seems as though she'd be a prime candidate to be purpled but ended up with seventeen confessionals. I expect our next pre-merge boot to be similarly visible, but lacking in personal content, which leaves me worried for Danny, Yam Yam, Kane, and Matt as we head into next week.

Who are my top contenders? ...
  1. Carolyn. (+3) We all knew it was coming. Easily the most developed character with both personal and strategic content, and clearly in the best position right now. She is shown to be holding all the agency, making moves that strengthen her own game, and not compromising to benefit other people. Time was devoted to her 'red cross' on the cage, despite it ultimately leading to nothing as Sarah went home with the fake idol in her pocket. All of this combined with her cold open leaves me confident enough to give her as high as 80% chance to be the winner of the game at this point.
  2. Matthew. (-) One of two mat talkers to remain in my top contender tier. Besides Carolyn, Matthew feels like the other main character of the season. He gets dedicated time each week to explain where he is in the game and his confessionals about strategy talk are long and complex. His alliances are outlined, and he is also connected to a group of other well developed characters - them being Brandon, Kane, and now Carson too. When so many people that have strong content are grouped together, it heavily hints that their alliance are primed to make a deep run. There are a couple of red flags for me though. First of all, the shoulder narrative. It still feels like a med-evac is being foreshadowed - but would they really devote so much time to a pre-merge med-evac (unless of course they have already invited them back for the next returnee season)? If not a med-evac, it feels like it has been heavily suggested since the first episode that his dumb decision to climb the rock will come back to haunt him in one way or another. Also, I'm getting villainous vibes from Matthew, and they even used some Darth Vader-ish music to accompany him at one point in the episode. Villains can win, but more than not they are used as a final boss taken down by the eventual winner.
  3. Frannie. (+3) It's the mat talk scene that is still keeping Frannie so high, but even without that, her edit is not bad at all. We continuously go to her for narration on the Soka tribe, and she definitely feels like the most visible member of her group. We have also seen a bit of a bump in the amount of strategy we are hearing from her in the last couple of episodes, with her getting the key confessional this week explaining how she and Matt are a pair and Heidi and Danny are a pair, and they wanted to get rid of Josh, but Jaime arriving in their tribe makes that more complicated. She is also doing a good job of keeping tight with Heidi and Danny, and I liked when she offered to keep watch for Danny checking Jaime's bag in this episode. Moving forward I want to see a little bit of personal content from Frannie to solidify her as a top contender.
  4. Carson. (-3) I think people were right that I was overcompensating for the fact that I'm not a Carson fan by putting him at number one last week. This episode he got a bit of a cooldown, which was much needed, but we still got a little bit of strategy talk from him, noting that he knew in the position he was in that he could not afford to risk his vote at advantage island. There have been a few red flags for him - the Helen misread etc. but overall I do think he has been shown to be smart, and he's had tons of personal content which indicate he'll be around for a while.

2023.03.24 12:35 Cerb-r-us Remembering the weirdness of Shadow Fight 2

So I've started properly getting into fighting games after years of trying and giving up, and this has caused me to reflect on a fighting game I had forgotten about but still sunk an embarrassing amount of time into.
With the exception of the first entry, the Shadow Fight franchise is mobile-exclusive, which has significant implications for its design. Not only that, but Shadow Fight games also include RPG elements (for completely non-P2W reasons), so now character progression has to factor in. These, and other, reasons combine to create one of the weirdest designed fighting games I have ever witnessed, let alone played: some shit that would leave you speechless if you saw it in a desktop or home console fighting game.
Below are some of the highlights:
NOTE: I have only played the second entry in the franchise, so that is the game I will focus on (though 5 seems pretty similar).
Controls and Speed:
The worse ergonomics and smaller real estate of mobile touch screens means mobile fighters cannot be as fast or intricate as their larger-hardware counterparts. First, combat in Shadow Fight games is so slow that most moves are actually reactable (though whether you can capitalise on it has more to do with your character's recovery time). If you had an IRL fight with someone right now, it would be slightly faster than Shadow Fight 2. I point this out because other mobile fighting games - like KOF Arena - manage to work while being much faster. Maybe the physics engine depends on it (more on that later). As it happens, the reactability can result in some cool moments of ducking-and-weaving around enemy attacks, like in a martial arts movie.
The first defining part of Shadow Fight 2's controls is that there are no real 'input gymnastics'. It seems to take after platform fighters by having variation come mostly from directional buttons. You can win a Shadow Fight 2 match with an APM under 100. Besides that, there is one punch button, one kick button, and two other buttons I will get to later.
The second defining part of Shadow Fight 2's controls is that you block by standing still. You can still bypass it with command grabs (standing next to your enemy, and pressing punch and directing away from your character), and seems to be the exact opposite of Fantasy Strike's approach.
Hitboxes and Hurtboxes:
Here is where we start getting egregious.
Shadow Fight 2 has physics-based character models. This means that whenever a character is - say - knocked down or anti-aired, their models ragdoll. To be consistent, the character's hurtbox changes in real time in accordance with how the model looks. Hitbox is directly linked to the shape and position of an attacking object (e.g. limb or weapon), and hurtbox is directly linked to the shape and position of any non-attacking or lower-priority attacking object (not counting armor). To put it another way, the boxes** are** the player model. This creates all kinds of fucked up situations and leaves precious few i-frames for any non-boss character. For example, if you dodge-roll in reaction to an attack and even a small group of pixels of an attacking object hits you, you will be dealt damage and - because your character is in motion - you will ragdoll. As you can imagine, this creates some monstrous Oki.
Special Hits:
This apparently was not enough for Nekki (dev). They also decided to have mechanics for dealing extra damage under certain circumstances, like in an FPS. For example, you deal double damage on hits to the head. To add insult to injury (pun not intended), there are also random critical hits, though I don't remember how much that adds. What matters is that, if an enemy hits you in the head with a weapon slightly better than your armour and that becomes a crit, it can wipe off more than half of your health.
I must admit I kind of have a soft spot for these. They're complete bullshit, but even being on the receiving end can be a really cool experience when paired with the game's pretty good sound design and the slowdown that happens.
Spells and Projectiles:
These are the two other buttons I mentioned earlier. Projectiles do what you expect. They are solid weapons that always sail vertically across the entire screen, and despite most anti-zoning techniques not really being viable in a game like this, most of them can be used an unlimited amount of times.
This game also has spells, such as Fireballs, lightning strikes, meteorites, and even a buzzsaw. Like the head and critical hits, they too are devastating, and high-level players gain a chemical dependency on them. Unlike projectiles, spells have a hit-based cooldown.
Shadow Fight 2 is singleplayer only. Of course it is. This game came out before rollback was popularised, so pairing that kind of delay with an already slow-as-hell game would have been a terrible idea. So the online functionality I can remember comes in two forms.
  1. You could fight other people's character builds, controlled by AI. For this mode, all weapon and equipment stats were 'flattened' to a base level so that - say - a level 1 knife could actually compete with a level 23 staff, thereby expanding the pool of beatable characters.
  2. Raid bosses. Essentially multiple players would collectively fight this one boss by fighting them individually in their own localised matches, and whatever damage was dealt to each one of their 'manifestations' would be applied to a singular, shared lifebar. Whoever dealt the most damage would win (with prizes given to runners up).
Hopefully I have illustrated just how strange Shadow Fight 2 was from a fighting game design perspective. The more I think about it, the more I wonder how many of the designers had even played fighting games before. If you remember anything I've omitted, or found an mistake in my memory, I'd appreciate seeing in the replies.

In Season 2 Episode 3 of Helluva Boss, Blitzø made a reference to Shrek where they would crash the wedding and save Moxxie and it seems Blitzø has also seen Titanic yet Blitzø doesn't know what insurance is. In Truth Seekers, it is revealed that both Moxxie and Blitzø has seen Cats. What are your opinions on I.M.P. and other hellborn's knowledge of Earth? Do you think they know everything about Earth or just some things? Do you think they know all the movies and TV shows of Earth or just only some of them. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this because I think it doesn't make sense that Blitzø knows about Shrek, Titanic and Cats yet he doesn't know what insurance is even though insurance has been around for centuries.

2023.03.24 11:07 harlemkuku Im bad at Dofus (PvE) How can i improve.

So i play dofus on and off, i return every few months, quit, rinse and repeat. What Ive realized after quitting so many times is that i genuinely suck at high level PVE. I'm just not all that good at understanding how some level 190+ dungeons work, character placement, mechanics, etc. It just all confuses me. Some of these bosses just seem impossible to me. Ive played dofus for probably around 13-14 years, and still haven't done count yet.
I do enjoy pve, as i did enjoy dreams, but is there any realistic way to improve, or any simulators i can use to try to improve my skill level for some of these dungeons? I just find the PVE aspect of the game difficult.

A little context: I come from the world of freeform roleplay, where god-modding (controlling another player's character's actions) is taboo. It is considered akin to character theft and an appropriate reason to boot the player who does it from the RP, assuming they did it knowingly.
As a freeform RPer, I would never condone such actions. Thus, when I learned on Quora (Q&A website) about a DM who set up a game where he set up a dynasty system, making players WANT their characters to die. Then as the final boss of the campaign, he took those very same players' dead characters and used them as NPCs against the very players who originally played them!
I read this DM the riot act, but according to him this was not only allowed, but the people who he did this to didn't protest.
Knowing how hard people work on their characters, this doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Why was he allowed to steal characters from other people, even though those characters were now undead?
Coming from the world of freeform RP, I was extremely confused and very upset - this guy committed a taboo which would get him thrown out of every single roleplay I've ever played.
I even looked it up and it seems Gary Gygax himself forbade it as early as 1st Edition, so what gives?
EDIT: Since some of you now seem to think this post is "troll bait" let me explain:
I have no problem whatsoever with PLAYER characters being played as their PLAYER created them, whether it's the DM controlling them or their original player. It's when the DM alters them to make them behave contrary to the core beliefs of the character.
No matter who is controlling them, your characters are still your own - they are not generic mob NPCs, they are Player Characters. You created their backstory, their way of life, their personality. You expect them to be played along those same lines by anyone who uses them. But what happens when they are radically altered and made to act contrary to their personality, one that you created and affects you deeply?
Let me give you an example: You create a pacifist character. It dies, and then the DM resurrects and radically changes the character into a bloodthirsty warrior. Where's the respect in that?
There is none, that's where.

2023.03.24 09:32 LOOP16 Looking to create a one-shot for my buds, have some worries about how balanced my duo boss may be

So I've been spending a couple of weeks making this one shot, it'd be my first time dming so I know it's not gonna be perfect, but I still wanna create a fun experience. I've been consulting with one of my dm friends about the story so i'm not so worried about that, but I am worried about how powerful a boss duo I have is.
Together I'm pretty sure they're already pretty formidable, but when one of them gets knocked, the other is buffed a lot by having their speed doubled and attacks are more powerful (It's different for either character but that's the general gist). I'm not really sure how I playtest this to be a fun challenge, is there a way I can playtest this beforehand?
