Student asking for advice
Hello everyone! I'm a student from The Netherlands working on a university project about creating a spirulina and pineapple supplement concept mainly for people over 45, but it can definitely be enjoyed by everyone. I would really appreciate all of your feedback about my concept and things to improve as I've hit a wall and don't know where to go from here. I will add the concept description and photos so it's easier to understand :)
Description:
In a world filled with countless supplement options, we've noticed that people often experience moments of fatigue, and feel overwhelmed by the fast paced nature of life. That's why we've come up with a solution that aims to offer a refreshing break from the daily routine.
Introducing our concept BluEscape: "A click to escape reality". We've designed a pen-like packaged supplement combining spirulina and pineapple, packed with benefits to rejuvenate your energy levels. You push the button and it dispenses one dissolvable tablet.
The sleek and portable packaging makes it easy to carry anywhere ensuring you have a quick pick-me-up at your fingertips whenever you need it.
We offer a monthly subscription-based service complete with QR codes that unlock short guided meditation sessions so while you enjoy the supplement, you can simultaneously indulge in a serene moment of meditation truly escaping reality for a bit.
The dissolvable tablets provide a hassle free experience and refills are readily available through our subscription services.
Let me know what you guys think! Or if there is any other subreddit where I can post this for more feedback. I wasn't sure where to post it :)

2023.05.30 12:50 anders158 Pen rotation on new devices

Does the Pro Pen 3 support (barrel) rotation like the Art Pen does, or is Wacom doing away with rotation support, as the Art Pen is not listed to be compatible with the Cintiq Pro 27.

Hi, I have been using my pen display for 2 weeks now and it worked fine the last 2 weeks in Zbrush, but the pen pressure suddenly stopped working. I troubleshot everything I could imagine so far, turning on/off windows ink, recalibrating, mouse mode, checking the tablet which works. What happened? Help please! I'm using Zbrush 2023.0.1 I also tried it in 2022.0.7, no difference.

Issues with Artist 22 Pro (probably driver issues)
I have been speaking to customer service about this but thought I'd ask here for more ideas.
I recently got a new laptop and installed the latest Artist 22 Pro Driver however when I plug the tablet in it won’t let me open drop down menus in the driver, google or any of my art software. I tried to calibrate it however when I click on the plus sign the calibrate screen will close down. However when I plugged my Artist 12 in to my laptop it works perfectly fine.
I re-tested my artist 22 on my old laptop (which still has the old driver) and it works without issues so I’m wondering if its a driver issue. Just to note I have a Windows 11 (My old laptop is Windows 10) and this is the link I got the driver from: https://www.xp-pen.com/download-66.html
I have also un-installed and re-installed the driver mulitable times and always restated my computer before testing it.
They told me to check the Diagnostic tool but it won't open.

2023.05.30 10:22 osiris6581 Workflow & tools for hand-drawn animation?

Greetings - I'm researching software, digital drawing tablets (the type with integrated display), and trying to get familiar with what ends up being important to animators of hand-drawn styles, i.e. anime, comic & manga, classic cartoons. I've begin reading reviews but it would be great to hear from some people who do this. The reviews and guides are often paid articles and I don't know enough about this field to even know who's reputable (publications etc).
About a tablet, - I'm looking to spend between $200-400 and have computers to support this (Windows, Mac, *and* Ubuntu Linux are used in our home) - User is a dedicated artist, but a beginner animator - Ideally the software would be open source if it's a respectable option. I can't afford to spend hundreds of $$$ a year on recurrent licensing for a top-end suite of apps - Ease of use is important, the end user is not tech averse but also not tech savvy, she needs some guidance getting the pieces in place but once they are, she'll run with it - what screen resolution is enough for these pads? How sensitive does the pen/stylus need to be to feel natural? In other words... what matters, when you're using these? I've only ever used a non-display drawing pad and I hated it but that was 20 years ago (and a cheap model), so I'm in no position to know.
Aside from the technical stuff, there is workflow... what is it? Draw your frames via the display pad with an application of your choice, then animate them with another application? Does anyone draw and scan in paper artwork? Are open source tools like Pencil2D and Opentoonz good tools (I've seen they're used by pros yet free)?
I'll continue researching this stuff myself but would love to engage with the people who actually know and do all this. Thank you.

Training

First marathon. Began running in lockdown, seen vast improvements in all my distances, managing to get 5k under 19 mins, 10k under 40 mins, and half marathon under 1:40. I joined a running club in Oct 2022 and seen further improvements in all distances, so I set myself a target of completing a half marathon in under 1:30 and a marathon in under 3.30.
My training consisted on speed work on a Monday (track) and Wednesday (usually in a park or quiet area with no traffic). These sessions are provided by the coaches at my running club. Outwith these sessions, I tried to do at least 40km over another 4 runs at an easy pace, keeping heart late below 150bpm. Total monthly kilometres always over 200km. Since the new year I have been trying to hit at least 60km per week.
I booked this marathon last summer and had no idea of a plan or targets. I completed a half marathon in 1.19.59 the end of April this year, and this gave me belief that I would be able to post a good time in this race. I would have been disappointed if I did not manage to complete it in 3.10.
The longest run I completed during my training was an easy run of 33km, about 4 weeks before the race. I was confident I would be able to finish but had no idea how my body would do after that distance at a quicker pace.

Pre-race

I done my last long run (~22km) exactly one week before the race. Easy 10km runs Monday & Tuesday, Wednesday I done 3 x 10km at target marathon pace (4.14/km) with 2 mins rest in between. Another easy run on Thursday and then complete rest Friday & Saturday. On the Wednesday I started upping my carb intake significantly, eating a lot more bread, rice, pancakes, crumpets, scones, tortilla wraps, potatoes and chips. I was feeling rather bloated for these few days so cut back a bit on the Saturday in order to be good for Sunday.
Race day: Got up at 5.30am - big bowl of porridge with a scoop of protein powder, 2 slice of toast & strong coffee. Had a cereal bar and a banana at 8am (2 hours before start). Sipped water through the morning - not too much as was wary of toilet breaks during the race.

Race

Race began at 10am. When I signed up for the race I put in a target time of 3.45 - meaning I started in a pen with runners a lot slower than me. This was not ideal as it was very busy and I was stuck behind big groups of runners a lot for the first 20-30mins. I definitely could have went quicker at the beginning, maybe a blessing in disguise as I was still under target pace and perhaps allowed me to not come out the traps too quickly. I took 2 salt tablets every water station, which was every 30 mins or so. Took 1 gel at 10km, 20km then 32km. Fortunately was able to get through the whole race without stopping for the toilet. I was really comfortable up until the last 10km, I had never ran more than this so had no idea how my body would react. I had plenty of time in the bank so I dialled it back a bit to make sure I could finish without cramping or pulling a muscle.

Post-race

I am going to take a few days off to let my body recover. I have a few 10k runs booked throughout the summer and hope to achieve some PBs. The time I posted should also qualify me for London next year.
Made with a new race report generator created by herumph.

2023.05.30 05:39 CarpenterPotential77 Need help

Hello. I’m new to digital art an animation. I’ve been doing a lot of research but wanted to see what y’all thought. I’m looking to use blender with either an iPad Pro and Apple pen 2 or Wacom cintiq 16. I’m looking to do 2D animation mostly. I have a pretty decent windows PC I use for gaming and music production.
What are some opinions y’all have on what I should do? Tips on drawing pads or software to use.
Thank you!!

2023.05.30 05:17 sealysea I can't line my sketch with a tablet properly without lines going all over the place or not curving the way I want

Using a wacom intuos 4, I have stabilization set at 25 using the brush tool. Is it a matter of practice or wrong settings? I know I can use the pen tool for better curves but I've seen people on youtube do it so effortlessly with the brush

2023.05.30 03:59 charismelia An app like "DriveSync" but for iOS?

Long-time Android user who wants a pen-capable 8 inch tablet, but the Android offerings are virtually nonexistent at this form factor.
If you guys are familiar with the DriveSync app on Android, it lets me sync different folders on my tablet with specific subfolders in Google drive, and I can upload, download, two-way sync at my leisure automatically or manually. Does an option like this exist in iOS? I'm very picky about my file management so I'm hoping this is possible, but everything I hear about iOS makes it seem like there's very little flexibility.

2023.05.30 03:29 Vogon-Poet-42 Pen is offset?

Hi I am having an issue where the brushstrokes appear several inches to the left of the pen curser, ONLY on the canvas itself. I just downloaded krita and am using a gaomon PD1560 tablet with an up to date driver (I tried both that the website has). I have 2 monitors plus the tablet which technically counts as a third. The gaomon workspace is set and calibrated to the correct screen, and I have tried using photoshop and gimp with zero issues, so I don't believe this is a tablet issue. In Krita I have tried setting the Tablet input API to windows ink, which works but I lose pressure sensitivity and the lines are jittery. Mapping the WinTab option to a 'custom area' (as the FAQ suggested) causes me to lose my curser entirely no matter what size I put in. Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution that works? I'm so tired of resetting everything 😭

2023.05.30 02:59 cdickm Brush rotation with Wacom One - is there a stylus that supports it?

I had used a Wacom Intuos 3 Graphics Tablet for about 15 years professionally, with the 6D Art Pen that works with that generation of tablet. That pen supports brush rotation, in addition to all of the functions of the standard grip pen. I thought I would try the Wacom One display tablet, and I found one on sale for $129.00. I'm retired, and I can't justify buying a Cintiq tablet, but the Wacom One, well I could afford that easily.
Drawing directly on the display is great, and I was loving the tablet until I realized that the pen does not support brush rotation. I was using it initially for pencil sketches where rotation was not an issue. This feature is especially important to me when using thick paint in Corel Painter. I bought an Express Key remote, and thought I would just rotate the canvas as I worked, instead of the pen. Well, that method sucks for me.
Is there a pen in existence that works with the Wacom One, and also supports brush rotation? Bing AI says that this art pen, model KP701E2, will work for me on my Wacom One, but I think it lied. If that pen won't work, I'll just reluctantly go back to my Intuos 3 tablet, which still works just fine with Windows 11.

2023.05.30 01:12 pepperhmr Pen Pressure Randomly Disappears + New Input Detected

I had to reinstall Windows lately and ever since then, my tablet (Kamvas 13) keeps screwing up. It works just fine like nothing is wrong, but then the pen pressure randomly disappears, and there are long lines between the top right corner of the tablet, and where my pen is hovering - as if it detected another input or something.
I use CSP. I can't figure out what the issue could be. Anyone got solutions?

2023.05.30 01:12 DonCola93 I finally did it!

I finally did it!
After months of searching for the best tablet for college. I finally went for the S8+. Hindsight, i wish I waited till after the semester had ended. I used it for the last quarter of the semester, felt I didn't get that much use out of it. Plus... THE PRICE WENT DOWN. Lucky me! I have three semesters to go! It took me sometime to want to make this post so here it is, along with some apps that I use! (I'm a little dyslexic so if you see any errors be kind.)
Tablet -Samsung - Galaxy Tab S8+ - 12.4" 256GB - with S-Pen - Wi-Fi - Pink Gold
Keyboard (membrane keys) - Logitech MX Keys Mini Minimalist Wireless Illuminated Keyboard, Compact, Bluetooth, Backlit, USB-C, Compatible with Apple macOS, iOS, Windows, Linux, Android, Metal Build - Graphite
Keyboard Case - co2CREA Hard Case Replacement for Logitech MX Keys Mini Advanced Wireless Illuminated Keyboard
Tablet Case - SaharaCase - DEFENSE Series Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Tab S8 Plus - Black
Screen Protector - ZAGG - InvisibleShield GlassFusion+ Flexible Hybrid Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+/S7+
I went with the Samsung S8+ for a couple reasons. I'm not an apple fan. The pen on the S8+ could be bigger, the tip on the pen is softer than the Apple pen tip so that was a factor. I didn't care for how hard the apple pen tip felt when it came it contact with the screen
With the S8+ I could easily upload and download anything school related as some professors don't recommend using Apple software. Using Microsoft programs.
I prefer Samsung Note as a note taking app for class. I find it easy to use as it helps with organizing subjects and classes. The functionality of Samsung Note makes it fun to take hand written notes.
Keyboard functions great on the app as well. I went with a keyboard that is small enough to use on a classroom desk. I went with the membrane keys as I don't want to distract my classmates with my typing.
I have a 2 screen protector on the tablet. Out of laziness. The Zagg screen protector is super nice on the tablet screen. Out of being lazy I never took the plastic screen protector off the SaharaCase. So out of curiosity i wanted to see what the case looked lile on the tablet before taking the screen protector off the case. Once I got the case on the tablet and realized the pen still works through 2 screen protectors I didn't see the need to go back to take the case apart to rip off the SaharaCase screen protector that comes attactched to the SaharaCase. (Mouthful, sorry lol)
I use it mainly for school. I don't think I have games on it, other than a house building app. which isn't to I'm depth in terms of using up the tablets power.
I can't think of anything else to write. If anyone has any questions, ill try and answer the best i can.
