It's Friday and Watches and Wonders starts on Monday. This is a large one, so let's dive in:
/ Omega, just like all the other Swatch Group brands, famously does not participate in the Watches & Wonders, the largest annual watch show, which starts in a couple of days. Which does not mean they will not try to bank on all the watch news going around and introduce a couple of models.
Yesterday they unveiled a new collection to the Aqua Terra line - the Aqua Terra Shades collection, available in two sizes: 34 mm, and 38 mm. The 38 measures 12.3mm in thickness, while the 34 is 11.9mm, and both come in five varying dial colors.
The dials are made of brass and then sun-brushed outwards from the center and use a number of technologies to apply crazy vibrant colors to them - the 38 mm is available in Atlantic Blue, Bay Green, Sandstone, Saffron, and Terracotta and the 34 mm model comes in either Sea Blue, Lagoon Green, Sandstone, Shell Pink, or Lavender.
If you want more color, you can swap out the stainless case for two new gold models - one in Omega’s signature reddish Sedna gold, framed by 46 diamonds along the bezel, the other in the brand’s own yellow gold alloy, Moonshine gold.
Retail on all of the 34 mm and 38 mm stainless steel models, five of each, is $6,300. The gold Aqua Terra at 38 mm with a bracelet goes for $37,800 and the 34 mm version with a leather strap goes for $16,000.
Raketa Sputnik-1 Limited Edition Celebrates Launch of World’s First Satellite
/ Russian brands are not all the rage at the moment. But we don’t deal with politics here, we report on the news. Watch news. And the legendary watch manufacturer Raketa has just launched a new watch to pay homage to the launch of Sputnik-1, the first satellite in orbit, in 1957 and they named it Sputnik-1.
The newly announced Raketa Sputnik-1 has a 40.5mm diameter stainless steel case with a round shape, conjuring images of an orbit around the Earth. The display is given in a 24-hour format split into day and night portions with inverted white and grey colours. The connections with the satellite go beyond the design - the 24-hour dial design dates back to 1974 when it was shown to and approved by the Soviet construction bureau that created the original satellite and the dial is made of the exact alloy of aluminium-magnesium that the heat shield of Sputnik was made from. Powering the Sputnik-1 is the Raketa Calibre 2624, produced in the Raketa Watch Factory in Saint-Petersburg.
The Raketa Sputnik-1 is limited to 500 pieces and is available with either a stainless steel bracelet for €1,800 or a canvas strap for €1,700. You can also get it in a specially made case with both straps and a model of the Sputnik satellite for €2,300.
The MeisterSinger Astroscope Limited Edition, The Most Unusual Day-Date Watch, Returns In A Bold Black/Yellow Combo
/ MeisterSinger doesn’t like doing things that other brands do. First, the German brand uses a single-hand display to indicate the time. And for its day-date watch, the Astrosocope, MeisterSinger decided to go for a display that pays tribute to astronomy, something that hardly anyone does.
The 40mm stainless steel case has a domed sapphire crystal, a decent water-resistance of 50m and an outsourced, slightly modified Sellita SW220-1 movement. Nothing extraordinary, but this isn’t why the Astroscope matters.
The real deal of this watch is the use of astronomical features to elevate one of the simplest complications, the day-date, to another level. The day-date indication relies on the traditional 7-day division but not in any particular astronomical rhythm. Tuesday doesn’t follow Monday on the dial… Weird? Yes, but also interesting. The current day of the week is indicated by a yellow dot wandering back and forth above the horizon, which gives the impression of a night sky. It is mechanically simple but visually elevates the whole concept.
This year, the new MeisterSinger Astroscope special series limited to 200 pieces with a black sunburst finish and sunny yellow is released. The new model comes with a supple leather strap in matching yellow and the watch is available now at EUR 2,190.
Furlan Marri Adds a Trio of Gorgeous and Accessible Sector Dial Three-Handers to their Permanent Collection
/ Furlan Marri did not exist in 2019. In less than four years, founders Andrea Furlan and Hamad Al Marri have created a microbrand with a cult following. The entire brand was conceptualised, designed, tested and produced in the space of one year during lockdown.
They came out strong with a Kickstarter campaign in 2021 for a mecaquartz powered watch inspired by Patek Philippe steel chronograph reference 1463 that came in at only $330. Orders were literally ten times what the brand had expected and Furlan Marri quickly became a social media sensation. Then one year later came a mechanical, limited edition, three-hander with cool black sector dial, cow-horn lugs and movement by La Joux-Perret.
Now Furlan Marri makes that limited edition a permanent part of the collection with a very nice mechanical watch with three dial colors: Salmon Sector, Grey Sector and White Sector. Model 2154-A, named “Salmon Sector”, features a dial with a finely stamped texture enhanced by raised applied hour-markers with a “black gunmetal” PVD coating. Model 2161-A, known as “White Sector”, also has a dial with raised applied hour markers, paired with hands in blued steel. The dial of model 2145-A, entitled “Grey Sector”, offers a double-printed dial.
The watches are driven by Swiss-made automatic movements that are crafted by La Joux-Perret in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The watch comes with two soft straps in the travel case. One comes with curved ends while the other has straight ends, and they even correspond to two different sets of lug holes. Each watch has a vintage-eloquent diameter of 37.5mm, a 46mm lug stretch, a 10.5mm thickness.

The Glashütte Original 2023 PanoInverse Limited Edition Brings A Cityscape to Your Wrist
/ Glashütte Original’s offering mainly comes in two forms – rugged, but finely finished pieces like the SeaQ, and contemporary works of art in the likes of their Senator and Pano collections.
The Glashütte Original PanoInverse Limited Edition follows the biennial release of this special edition, and falls among the latter. Its predecessors used the inverse movement three-quarter plate to display intricate engravings and delicate guilloché. The 2023 edition takes a more contemporary approach, evoking an urban spirit via an engraved canvas of skyscrapers. The case makes this a very heavy hitter, as it’s 44mm across and made out of highly polished platinum.
Only 50 pieces will be available from the end of March 2023 from GO boutiques and selected dealers. Price is “upon request”, but the previous PanoInverse in Platinum with Guilloché dial retailed for EUR 45,000.
Petermann Bedat Releases A Stunning Split-Seconds Chronograph Monopusher With a Jumping Minute Counter
/ Founded by watchmakers Gaël Petermann and Florian Bédat, Petermann Bédat made its debut with the 1967 powered by an elaborately finished movement featuring a deadbeat seconds.
Now, the duo has just unveiled their next creation which is a step-up in complexity – the 2941 Monopusher Split-Seconds Chronograph. Presented in a 38 mm platinum case and limited to ten pieces, the 2941 follows the design language of the 1967 with a transparent dial and an emphasis on movement finishing.
It’s uncommon to see a new chronograph movement designed from the ground up, even more so a rattrapante with an instantaneously jumping minute counter. But that’s exactly what was done here. Make no mistake, this is a haute horologie, painstaikingly created by hand. The price reflect that. CHF243,000 before taxes. / Rolex is notoriously secretive about their releases. Then they go ahead and post an Instagram reel ahead of Watches and Wonders, which starts on Monday, and it is FILLED with clues as to which models the brand might be introducing next week.
The folks over at Time+Tide went over the video with a fine tooth comb and there’s some interesting hints in there: a Yacht-Master in RLX Titanium seems certain, there might be a RLX Titanium Rolex Explorer, another icy blue anniversary Daytona and some other tidbits.

My separated father is pretty much very old in age but he is under the age of 60 so i dont consider him as a boomer, but im going to my fathers house today and the majority of the time (most of the time its on Saturdays) we have an arguement and my father literally free styles on the argument changing the topic over and over and inappropriately cursing at me, he thinks that the fact that he has a fat load of money makes me ignore all of that but I HATE HIM SO FUCKING MUCH, i wish i could just fucking rip his damn organs off and sell them online GOD FUCKING DAMN IT! i want him dead so badly, he is just an asshole who cares more about money, his friends and his wife instead of his children, i mean he literally treats anyone better than me and my other 2 brothers, so, i need you redditers to tell me if i should fight him back or not because im thinking of fighting him back and traumatizing him to show that I am not scared of a fucking abusive father.

Our GW2 Division is organized into Departments to ensure we give our players all the ways they want to play:- PvE: Our PvE Department offers a little bit of everything PvE related! Our goal is to keep PvE inclusive and open to every skill level. Each week, we offer fractals at a variety of tiers, achievement runs, meta events, and dungeons, including events for toons under level 80. Each event is led by a PvE Assistant who is knowledgeable in that area of PvE. There aren't any requirements, everyone is welcome!
- Mists: Our Mists Department hosts a full lineup of events, both sPvP and WvW (Tarnished Coast), that are low stress and open to beginners! RoH is surging in WvW four nights a week plus occasional unscheduled runs. Whether you're a true veteran or a fresh-faced young adventurer, we'd love to bash some heads and steal some keeps with you! There are no level, gear, build, or experience requirements for any Mists events.
- Raid: The Raid Department gets together every week to take on the task of clearing as many raid and strike bosses as we can, focusing on having fun and learning the mechanics of each fight well enough that we can relax and joke while taking out bosses. We offer both open raids and periodic achievement statics.
- Crafting: The Crafting Department hosts the popular weekly Guild Missions. We also host a monthly lottery, which helps fund guild prizes, WvW siege, and ascended food, and we also hold Guild Hall and community-based events!

My boyfriend and I met online over a decade ago and started dating Jan 2020 right before the pandemic hit. I am from California where I stay with my mom and he is from Belgium where he used to live with his parents so dating during that time was difficult on us (especially on me as I was the one who made all those trips to Europe). I lost my job after it shut down due to COVID rules but I managed to save a ton of money and my school was online so we decided it was best for me to visit him. As an American, I am only allowed to stay for 3 months so all the flights and AirBnB prices piled up and soon enough, I blew through all my savings. He didn't offer to pay for any of my trips until I mentioned that I cannot continue affording such a lifestyle. To this day, he still has not paid for a full trip (only half or PayPals me a certain amount) despite me telling him that I am low on funds.
Sadly, those trips are always so bad on me and I have a dog I have to travel with. Imagine having a small nervous dog under the seat in front of you on a 13-17 hour trip just to be met with more bad luck once you get there. I have had my phone snatched from me while waiting at a tram stop, I've had a stranger sexually take advantage of me after possibly drugging my drinks, I've had to sleep on hard floors at airports and bathrooms while I wait for hours (these are all during layovers) and when I tell him this, he asks "what am I supposed to do?" I've lost thousands of dollars on cancelled flights, you know the ones that force you to call only to give you credits that expire in year... Finally, during a trip I had on Dec 2021, I said I've had enough and I don't want to go anymore. He took initiative and decided to visit me in California for the first (and so far only) time. Everything was great, we seemed to fix the problem that was me having to be the only one to move around. But why does it feel like it got worse?
After graduating with my Bachelor's in May of 2022, we decided to finally move in together! I'd go to Belgium and get a visa through cohabitation. Except... Remember when I said I was running low on funds? Well by this time, I owe thousands of dollars as I haven't had a job due to school and all the visits we'd planned. I tried to at least land a temp job but never got a call back after going to a few interviews. I arrived in Belgium on Oct 2022 and he found an apartment for us a month later but we were met with even more bad luck!!! How!??!?!?! I lost my passport and I was set back $135... paid for it myself when he knows I don't have money and he's the only one with a job here. To be fair, he does pay for food and rent so I thought it was fair. Still, having to pay a huge chunk with my nearly maxed out credit cards really sucked, almost as much as waiting a month for it and having my visa delayed.
We also needed apostilled copies of my birth certificate and divorce decree (yes, I was a married woman) but that set us back even more as we waited months for certified copies only to have to mail them back for APOSTILLED copies. We are still waiting and I have been in Belgium without any visa for 5 months now. Well, guess who paid for those? Guess who's debt just went higher? He claims that I don't let him pay but there is a HUGE difference between "do you want the money for it?" and "here is the money for it". I am not going to ask him for money, I have never asked anyone to give me money except for my parents when I was a teen. We have had this conversation multiple times where I tell him I feel icky asking for money and nothing has changed. He laughed when I told him that my ex husband used to give me an allowance of $50 per week despite his cigarettes costing $30 a day and then he does this. He's even told me that he feels "indifferent" about my debt... Yeah cause it's my debt, not his.
Now, I am rambling here but I swear I am getting to my point. See, this all seems less serious to me when I look at the bigger picture because eventually I'll have my visa, I'll get a job, pay my debts, and we will (hopefully) have a double income. There is light at the end of the tunnel. But here comes the huge deal breaker: He winces whenever I bring up marriage. I told him I want to get married within the 5 year window. I do not want to be dating someone for 7, 8, 10 years and I am extremely firm on it. He says he doesn't know about it and that I'm pressuring him at this point (we've been dating for 3 years). I said it's part of my core values and beliefs... Maybe Belgians don't really get married but as an American and a Hispanic woman, I dream of marriage, even if my last one didn't work out. I don't want to be someone's girlfriend for a decade. My mom called him her "son-in-law" over the phone and he just walked away, offending her and bringing up the question "where does he see your relationship going?"
This doesn't sound like a person who takes me seriously. This doesn't sound like a person who would bawl if I picked up my things and left. I don't know what to do because I love this man so much and I know he loves me but it doesn't feel enough. I feel like I've lost a huge part of myself to get here. I don't have a job or money, I have already given up a ton to get here and he doesn't care? I've been married to an abusive groomer and ending our marriage was the hardest thing I ever had to do. After having gone through that, why am I letting myself be treated this way? I am so confused, what am I doing here? Is this worth saving?

Ok I’ve seen tons of discussions online regarding this series and we all know it’s horrible and not as good as the book. I just recently finished watching the entire thing and as person who read the book, I’m still mad on how they rushed it but i can’t wait to see more to be honest and I hope the second season is better.
My only question is, like how long are they going to keep this up. Like how many bad seasons of this series are they going to make? Like are they going to make like 18 seasons like the books have 18 or are they just going to make two and then end it with that? My quess is two because if movies based on books can only make one movie. Than how will this make 18, let’s be honest the series is bad enough and I know part of this has to do with quarantine. But seriously I highly doubt this series will get better to be honest, but what do you think?

So I'm not really old(23) but when I was growing up drag racing was the big thing. I grew up in Florida and watched a lot of drag racing growing up. As I've gotten older it seems drifting has taken over the younger generation.
Now I'm one of those kids who moved to drifting too. All my friends were into it and for the last five years that's what I've been doing. Looking at it now tho in the media drifting seems to be the more popular sport for kids,teens just getting into cars. Cleetus and a handful of 1320 guys are the only ones I can find on YouTube with a handful of small channels. Drifting has over a dozen BIG YouTubers and a lot of medium/small one's.
With new muscle cars slowly becoming endangered now I've seen a slight rise in the drag racing community online. I wonder if it will get more popular on YouTube (I'm hoping).
Now I still love drifting but I want to see what drag racing is like. I've never really done it before, only watched.
I'm thinking about changing my YouTube channel which right now is focused on drifting into a drag racing channel.
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this too.

Victoria had been sitting in the cockpit, but she got up as she heard me climb back out of the engine housing. There was only space for one of us down there, and even though she'd explained she knew a lot about ships, she wasn't exactly going to be able to repair a human one. "Still bad?"
"It's fucked. We're-" I sighed instead of swearing again.
"Do we?"
"I'll give it one more shot before we need to make new plans."
"So we can't get to Ovigaia then?"
"Don't write it off yet, but-" I trailed off instead of saying 'yeah.' The laser fire we'd taken had pierced the hull, and while the prognosis could have been worse, there wasn't far for it to go. The shot had damaged the right-side power cells of the ship. Even if I managed to fix them so they stopped losing power on every circuit run, we'd already bled enough storage that we had essentially half as much auxiliary power as I'd planned for the trip to Ovigaia.
Unless I could restore peak efficiency and was wrong about how much power we'd lost in the past hours, we would need to land somewhere else. Not to mention, we'd pierced the veil at the wrong angle after getting hit, meaning the journey already would have been overlong with a fully functional ship.
"Do you want me to take a look at some of the options we might have?"
"Hard to tell what's in range until I have a read on the power, but sure. Thanks," Victoria nodded as she stepped back to the cockpit, sliding into the co-pilot's seat and bringing up the console.
At least she was making herself useful, better than she'd been on Mythellion III when I'd first met her. Maybe she was warming up to me or maybe just warming up to the idea of someone who was keeping her alive.

Interlocking hexagons shimmered in a pulsing rhythm over the wound in the Gunboat Diplomat's hull. Just to the right of the damage, the twisted, melted metal of the power storage battery hung loose and open, pouring purple light like a gash in reality.
My personal shield, the one that I'd been storing on the ship, sparked to life as I approached the exposed battery, absorbing heat and radiation spillage from the damaged part and using it as power. Once I was close enough to see the inside of the battery, I pulled out my PA, not expecting anything new.
It only took a breath to establish that, despite my wiring a spare shielding cell into the network of the battery, we were still losing power each cycle through the laser wound. Nanite temp-repair gel had been enough to slow the pour of energy, but it was a patch, and perpetual energy needed a perfect system to remain perpetual.
There was a chance that I could rewire the shields connection and it would be good enough. I reached down to grab the hardlight adjuster on my hip and ended up patting nothing. Shit. "Victoria. Can you throw down the tool? I need it." After waiting long enough, I called again, "Victoria?"
There were two taps behind me as Victoria gently lowered herself through the floor into the maintenance hallway, stooping to avoid knocking her head on any of the support struts. She walked over with awkwardly bent knees and pressed the adjuster into my hand.
"You shouldn't be down here without a-" Victoria showed me her other hand and revealed my old mk23 shield generator. "-Thanks."
"Any better?"
"Yes and no."
"By-"
"We're losing less power, but we're still losing. I just wanna try decoupling the shield cell I hot-wired in there and seeing if I can't-" I cut myself off to focus as I reached into the hole in the battery's casing and started dematerializing the hardlight wiring I'd built before. "If I can't get it running better."
"No chance of perfect then?"
"Don't think so."
Breaking down hardlight was usually quick work, but when working around a damaged battery storing enough power to restart a miniature sun, everything took too much time. Unlike the previous rounds of repairs, Victoria stayed with me this time and kept trying to find new angles to see what I was working on.
After a while, she gave up and sat down on the floor. ; there wasn't enough room in the hallway to see past me and into the casing.
"You can go back up and-"
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure."
"Diadona?"
"Yes."
"Is that a human last name too?"

"My biological parents were human. Mom was an Ovishir, and Dad was a human."

"Mom and Dad raised me after adoption; my bio-parents provided the parts," I clarified.
"Sorry, I'm just confused by- You keep saying 'adoption,' and I don't think it translates."
"Really?"
"I don't know what it means."
"It means that the people who raised me didn't give birth to me."
"That's so strange. And one of them was an Ovishir?"
"My Mom."
"And by Mom, you mean-"
"She raised me but didn't give birth to me. Yes."
"That's so weird," Victoria added just as I had to get quiet again to focus on what my hands were doing. My PA overlaid a wiring setup on the AR glass as the optimal path for energy, but it was the same one I'd just been using. I added a small touch of hard light off the highlighted circuit, hoping the system would suggest something else, but it just told me to erase my work.

I knew my way around electronics well enough to follow instructions, but I wasn't about to take apart and rewire the entire battery when it was powering my ship through the black. That was just asking to become a statistic.
I set myself on redrawing the wired connections that I'd just spent the last few minutes erasing. Victoria spoke up again.
"You were raised by an Ovishir, then?"
"Mostly, my D- male parent," I switched the wording to try and help the idea translate for her, "died when I was pretty young so-"
"And that male parent was-"
"Human."
"I didn't know that was a thing that happened."
"Hm?"
"Two different species raising a kid," she explained, "just seems… Wrong isn't the right word, but it's strange."
"How long have you been away from Fotul?"
"Pardon?"
"How long have you been outside of Meritocracy space? Mixed couples aren't common, but they aren't that rare."
"I-"
"I'm just surprised you haven't seen one. How long have you been away?"

There was a chance that I could have gotten us somewhere closer if I had physical wires to use, but I didn't have any heavy-duty spares on the ship.
If this had taught me anything, it had shown me that I had too many spare parts for guns and not enough for the ship itself.
At least I'd have time to look at the Basking once we'd chosen a new destination.
I held the PA up to the newly rewired system and let it calculate how much energy we were losing on each cycle, then sent that data to the nav console itself before packing and heading back up myself.
As I closed the access panel to the lower deck and re-affixed the radiation shielding, Victoria spoke up from the cockpit.
"Are you kidding me?"
"What's wrong?" I asked without turning my attention over to her yet.
"We're losing that much power? I thought that-"

"Well-" Victoria growled in frustration, and I heard her shoot up from her seat, "none of the routes I was planning are going to work then."

"We wouldn't even make it halfway to Ovigaia according to your human piece of-" she trailed off. We'd already beaten around the bush once regarding her ship vs mine. The Gunboat Diplomacy had won because it wasn't currently scrap metal polluting Mythellion's orbit.
"What are our options then?" I asked as I finally stood up in our conversation. Victoria turned back to the cockpit and got into the co-pilot's seat.
"Two. Maybe three."
"I think we need a main population center for repairs."
"One then, maybe two."
"What planet's number one?"
"Not a planet," Victoria brought it up on the screens as I went to meet her, blocking out the infinite void that the front cameras had been showing for the past hours. The reading on the screen was an ancient mining station that had been retrofitted into a colony ship. "Station-"
"What's the other option?"
"Uh-" Victoria shot a questioning look but no questions with it, "Baris-Na, an Anteraxi forward colony."
"Baris-Na it is."
Victoria didn't hit anything that would mark the planet as the ship's target. Instead, she pointed to the bottom of the screen and the energy it would take to get there. "I said maybe for a reason."
If we cut everything but the engines, we'd need to drop out of superluminal speeds within a few hours and drift for three days.
"We should aim for Station 26; the other one's not really an option."
I bit my lip for a moment before speaking up. "You're right." There wasn't a point in explaining why I'd cut her off before. Avoiding the obvious choice was just putting us in unnecessary danger.
Still, I'd told myself I'd never be back.

Much like The Elder Scrolls Part V: Skyrim—which hails from the same era—GTA V has been an enduring success and is about to get its third re-release.
There's no fancy subtitle or name change; Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series XS consoles on March 15th. That's not to say it's exactly the same experience, though. The versions for the current-gen consoles support 60 FPS, HDR output, ray-tracing, "improved texture quality," faster loading times, "immersive 3D audio," and support for platform-specific features, like the PS5's DualSense haptics.
gtaonline carwash Specifically, there will be a fidelity mode that targets native 3840×2160 resolution with ray tracing and a 30 FPS cap. (Xbox Series S will use upscaling to hit 4K.) Before you sneer at that, note that console versions of GTA V have always had a 30 FPS cap—until now: the new release's "performance mode" will target 60 FPS with dynamic resolution scaling up to 4K, but without ray tracing.
Most interesting to the majority of gamers will probably be the "Performance RT" mode. This mode, available only on the PS5 and Series X, is basically just performance mode with ray tracing enabled. Instead, Rockstar is implementing several content updates for the re-launch. The Los Santos Car Meet expansion is getting an expansion of its own called Hao's Special Works, and a "Career Builder" feature will be available for fresh characters to help them get a foothold in Los Santos' seedy underbelly.
If you're already an accomplished crime boss in GTA V or GTA Online using an older console version, you can transfer your progress to the new systems. For story mode, open the game and go to "Game" in the pause menu, then select "Upload Save Game" to send it to the Rockstar Social Club cloud servers. GTA Online progress will transfer automatically, although Rockstar cautions players that purchased GTA$ won't transfer across platforms (i.e. PlayStation to Xbox, or vice versa.)
You'll be able to start playing the remastered version of GTA V on March 15, with physical copies coming available In April. We asked Rockstar when these changes would be coming to the PC version, but haven't heard back yet. We'll update this story when we do.

Instead, Rockstar is implementing several content updates for the re-launch. The Los Santos Car Meet expansion is getting an expansion of its own called Hao's Special Works, and a "Career Builder" feature will be available for fresh characters to help them get a foothold in Los Santos' seedy underbelly.
If you're already an accomplished crime boss in GTA V or GTA Online using an older console version, you can transfer your progress to the new systems. For story mode, open the game and go to "Game" in the pause menu, then select "Upload Save Game" to send it to the Rockstar Social Club cloud servers. GTA Online progress will transfer automatically, although Rockstar cautions players that purchased GTA$ won't transfer across platforms (i.e. PlayStation to Xbox, or vice versa.)
You'll be able to start playing the remastered version of GTA V on March 15, with physical copies coming available In April. We asked Rockstar when these changes would be coming to the PC version, but haven't heard back yet. We'll update this story when we do.
