2023.03.24 12:53 Hitmanata Questions about Staff PM on Gazelle tracker.

I've never been a staff member on any tracker, so don't know the answers to these questions below. However, knowing them would allow me to better handle a case I'm facing on a Gazelle tracker at the moment, and then further contribute to this case being handled fairly by the staffs. They are being asked for legit reasons:
The core question: Assuming it is staff Henry who replies to member Susan's Staff PM, and Susan disagrees with Henry's ruling, what is the standard process for Susan to ask the staff team to reopen her case? — In anticipation of an unproductive point that may be raised, “The so-called disagreement from members is just sophistry, the staff's judgement is always right!” Here's a true story. Pardon me to put it in an external link as a screenshot to avoid making this post too lengthy, diluting the topic here.
If Susan had first expressed her disagreement in the 1v1 PM with Henry, and Henry had upheld his ruling, so she then had to turn to other staffs to intervene by sending a Staff PM and asking to be handled by other staffs, would Susan have felt offended? (Of course, only Susan knows this, so this question is asking whether an average staff would feel offended. I think even if she felt offended, she probably wouldn't admit it publicly, so I'd rather phrase it this way: Do you, a mod, think your staff colleagues would feel offended by such a thing?)
Is this “request to be handled by another staff” allowed? Or “the final decision of any staff is the final decision of the staff team”, so no appeals are accepted? (I cannot find the answer to this question on the rules, wiki pages of all the gazelle trackers I'm on)
Do other staffs still have permission/privilege to view this Staff PM after Henry has replied/handled?
Will other staffs view the Staff PM after Henry replies? (Not asking about ability or access, but whether it actually happens in practice, or let's phrase it like this: Will other staffs view always, often, seldom or never?) In Henry's perspective, the mere fact that he knows his colleagues will look at how he disposes of the case is enough to make him more inclined to handle it more fairly (as frequent unjust and inappropriate rulings in front of colleagues imply incompetence). In case you're interested in how peer pressure can influence a staff's judgement, check the story in the link above.
In order for more people to benefit from this post, these questions are being asked generally (what are the general gazelle trackers like), however just in case someone says different gazelle trackers handle differently, let's say we're talking about PTP, BTN, RED and GGn then as they are the icons of gazelle trackers in multiple aspects.

2023.03.24 12:50 Riri_Rairi Illness, pain and fasting

I've been dealing with extreme pain from sciatic nerve compression due to herniated disk since a couple of months.
It heals very slowly. I was wondering if someone with nerve injury or chronic nerve pain was negatively affected by fasting or not.
I am currently fasting but I don't want to do more damage or delay healing. I take my medication during Sahoor and Iftar.
Do you have family members with similar issues who benefited from fasting?

2023.03.24 12:47 mathshard AITA for declining job offer?

Went to a job interview. Absolutely love the job and really felt a connection to the manager and team when I met with them. They asked for a reference, which I provided. They were very accommodating in that they accepted a reference that allowed me to keep the job search discrete. The more formal reference can come later on. In the mean time, I did my due diligence and they allowed me to speak with current team members and also had meet with higher level personnel.. of course to make we are all a good fit for each other.
Everything up till this point has been great. When the offer came through (Day 1), I ultimately had to decline due to issues with structure of the schedule. This was a point of contention during the initial process that I made clear. With that said, this refusal wasn’t completely unexpected.
(Still day 1) I get a response shortly there after saying they are willing to accommodate and adjust scheduling. I replied back saying if they can meet my scheduling request, I would reconsider. (Day 2) supervisor replies back confirming that they would work on it and asked if I had any final questions. I replied that same day to confirm the nitty gritty stuff (I.e job title and confirm benefits (vacay, bonuses structure), all to get it in writing considering this is a deviation from the initial offer.
Day 3 and 4 came and went. I sent an e-mail day 5 to check in and make sure my response was received. Radio silence. Day 6 and 7 came and went. Nothing.
Day 8- response came back saying my message was received. And that they’ll get back to me once they have a tentative schedule built out. Keep in mind, this isn’t the recruiter or hiring manager. This is my future supervisor. And there’s really no possible reason for the radio silence, unless there’s some extenuating circumstances, which in this case, there wasn’t.
AITA for declining the job a second time? Left a bad taste in a my mouth. During radio silence, I simply thought I was ghosted because maybe they found another less demanding candidate. It’s a business and I totally understand, no hard feelings. But I expected more professionalism. With the response now, I’m a bit stuck since I’m already come to terms with not accepting it and told the family the same (they were happy, because me taking this job, required some sacrifice on their end). I’m not so sure it’s worth it anymore.

2023.03.24 12:45 -Angilas- WIKIPEDIA Consultancy Scam (i.e. preying on vanity)

So here's an interesting scam that seems to be making the rounds.
This scam is very subtle, because some sites do seem to offer a legitimate variant.
Basically, certain websites appear to be claiming they can win anyone notoriety by offering to write Wikipedia pages for exorbitant sums of money.

Almost Definite Scam Sites

The reasons why this is (almost definitely) a scam:
  1. Wikipedia has a "notability" requirement, which the scam sites do not appear to be addressing. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability) This is the reason that neither your Uncle Gus nor your local "Soda/BeeLotto Tickets Store" will likely have a Wikipedia page for longer than a few hours.
  2. What these sites claim to be offering seems to be subtly exploiting the public's misunderstanding of how Wikipedia even works. In reality, so long as a subject has sufficient "notability", a Wikipedia page can be written (for free) and should be able to remain up indefinitely.
  3. We can see that there are already people who have been duped by these shady activities (here are some complaints about Wiki Creators LLC): https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/wikicreatorsllc.com#11 https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/wikicreatorsllc.com#17 https://www.trustpilot.com/review/wikicreatorsllc.com?stars=1
  4. We can also see a more serious complaint was actually filed with the Better Business Bureau here: https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/oakland/profile/writewikicreators-llc-1116-934772/complaints (Note: Though this one has been marked "resolved", note that it does not indicate the actual service was ultimately provided and that only once this case was escalated to this degree was there ostensibly an attempt to placate complainant)

Less-Likely a Scam

That being said, there are professional services out there that are far less "scammy". These services do inform their clients of the "notability" requirement, thereby not duping the general public into thinking they can simply spend X amount of dollars to instantly gain notoriety.
This version of the service — ostensibly legitimate — appears to be geared towards individuals/businesses of already sufficient "notability" who are looking to make sure their clients' pages are properly maintained.
The only kinda iffy thing here is the potential for a relatively chonky fee for simply checking "notability", but still... I would expect this to be within tolerances for real consulting 😅

Why this matters.

When a close family member of mine recently received an email solicitation from Wiki Solutions LLC and I saw him immediately convinced into thinking that having a Wikipedia page created for anyone was a legitimate business model, and — in his mind — of course the "price" of such a page would be understandably expensive, I realized that this scam was far more convincing and caustic than it seemed at face value.
When I had my wealth of evidence — both self-evident as in the case of Wikipedia's "notability" policy and also the wealth of people complaining about the scammy behavior of one of the sites in question — I contacted their host to see if they could simply address the situation quietly.
The host refused to take action (even when I suggested something as simple as their simply warning the site owner about the misleading lack of a "notability" clause). The host also appeared to keep moving the bar a bit further for what it would require to take action, and where we left off was them requiring a "police report". It seemed as though the host was doing all it could to prevent losing a sure revenue stream, so that was a bit alarming (although understandable from a coldly transactional standpoint; after all, I'm sure plausible deniability is a heck of a drug). (Although it is possible the host simply got duped by the believability of this scam too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
That's why I've come here. This scam doesn't even seem to have a name yet, that's why I went with something safe and dry like the "Wikipedia Consultancy Scam". But it does appear to be a real scam, and a bit more believable than other similar scams. It's in a similar vein as a Modeling Scam, a Who's-Who Scam, or a Vanity Award Scam... it preys on the vanity and lack of savviness of the victim.
Please keep your eyes out for this.

2023.03.24 12:43 mattrfs Survivor 44 Episode 4 Contender Rankings

As the episodes continue to divert more screen time to advantages, it is becoming increasingly obvious who the true contenders are to win this game. While I feel like we've gotten to know most of the characters, only a few are visible enough and given enough depth to really be our potential winners (unless we have an Erika situation on our hands, but I doubt they'd make that mistake again). Sarah got one of the weirdest edits ever for a fourth/fifth boot, as she seems as though she'd be a prime candidate to be purpled but ended up with seventeen confessionals. I expect our next pre-merge boot to be similarly visible, but lacking in personal content, which leaves me worried for Danny, Yam Yam, Kane, and Matt as we head into next week.

Who are my top contenders? ...
  1. Carolyn. (+3) We all knew it was coming. Easily the most developed character with both personal and strategic content, and clearly in the best position right now. She is shown to be holding all the agency, making moves that strengthen her own game, and not compromising to benefit other people. Time was devoted to her 'red cross' on the cage, despite it ultimately leading to nothing as Sarah went home with the fake idol in her pocket. All of this combined with her cold open leaves me confident enough to give her as high as 80% chance to be the winner of the game at this point.
  2. Matthew. (-) One of two mat talkers to remain in my top contender tier. Besides Carolyn, Matthew feels like the other main character of the season. He gets dedicated time each week to explain where he is in the game and his confessionals about strategy talk are long and complex. His alliances are outlined, and he is also connected to a group of other well developed characters - them being Brandon, Kane, and now Carson too. When so many people that have strong content are grouped together, it heavily hints that their alliance are primed to make a deep run. There are a couple of red flags for me though. First of all, the shoulder narrative. It still feels like a med-evac is being foreshadowed - but would they really devote so much time to a pre-merge med-evac (unless of course they have already invited them back for the next returnee season)? If not a med-evac, it feels like it has been heavily suggested since the first episode that his dumb decision to climb the rock will come back to haunt him in one way or another. Also, I'm getting villainous vibes from Matthew, and they even used some Darth Vader-ish music to accompany him at one point in the episode. Villains can win, but more than not they are used as a final boss taken down by the eventual winner.
  3. Frannie. (+3) It's the mat talk scene that is still keeping Frannie so high, but even without that, her edit is not bad at all. We continuously go to her for narration on the Soka tribe, and she definitely feels like the most visible member of her group. We have also seen a bit of a bump in the amount of strategy we are hearing from her in the last couple of episodes, with her getting the key confessional this week explaining how she and Matt are a pair and Heidi and Danny are a pair, and they wanted to get rid of Josh, but Jaime arriving in their tribe makes that more complicated. She is also doing a good job of keeping tight with Heidi and Danny, and I liked when she offered to keep watch for Danny checking Jaime's bag in this episode. Moving forward I want to see a little bit of personal content from Frannie to solidify her as a top contender.
  4. Carson. (-3) I think people were right that I was overcompensating for the fact that I'm not a Carson fan by putting him at number one last week. This episode he got a bit of a cooldown, which was much needed, but we still got a little bit of strategy talk from him, noting that he knew in the position he was in that he could not afford to risk his vote at advantage island. There have been a few red flags for him - the Helen misread etc. but overall I do think he has been shown to be smart, and he's had tons of personal content which indicate he'll be around for a while.

Who else is still a contender? ...

Who am I losing hope for? ...

Who is not winning? ...

Supply chain management, or SCM, is an information-based process that unifies the numerous operations from the supply of raw materials through production and, ultimately, to the provision of completed goods and services to the final consumer. This method involves coordinating the actions of suppliers, manufacturers, and consumers to regulate the physical flow of goods and services from suppliers to end users. In order to create a sustained competitive advantage, it coordinates the skills of suppliers, manufacturers, channel partners, service providers, and customers.
The significance of a diploma in procurement and supply chain professional to the success of your organisation is being emphasised more and more as the field continues to grow. Throughout the course of your career, you might earn up to £150,000 more if you are a CIPS-qualified professional.
You may provide value to your organisation by assisting it in operating more effectively and efficiently by being aware of best practices and putting them into practice. The primary objective of WINGSWAY Procurement training is this.
Our training programmes are created to provide you with the fundamental business knowledge you need, as well as the perfect combination of technical, soft skills, and personal qualities for your present role and the future. We'll make sure everything you learn is relevant to your line of work. This suggests that you may improve your performance, contribute more effectively to the goals of your firm, feel more content in your existing role, and increase your chances of progression by making use of your new knowledge and skills.
Flexibility, dependability, and product availability are all supported by a supply chain that has been carefully designed. Other benefits include lower prices, shorter performance cycles, premium products, premium services, and top-tier items. In actuality, many businesses are now more serious than ever about supply chain efforts in an effort to obtain a competitive edge in a globalised market. Those who want to learn more about supply chain management and then pursue careers in it can choose from a variety of courses.
A couple of these programmes are as follows:
Obtaining a diploma in supply chain management and procurement, a BBA in logistics, or an MBA in logistics and supply chain management;
Each of these courses has a varied set of requirements depending on the circumstance. A least 45% in +2 is a typical requirement. Ideal candidates for supply chain management roles are those who have a solid understanding of management and teamwork.
The logistics sector is still greatly impacted by developments in automation technologies. Following that, supply chain management and automation will be used by all organisations to maintain concurrent production. As a result, supply chain management and logistics hold enormous potential for the future.
The most professional supply chain management diploma available in the city is provided by WingsWay Training Institute, which can assist you in earning one in Dubai.
This program's learning process can be quite diverse and interdisciplinary, needing the hiring of skilled employees to evaluate, oversee, and manage many activities and departments. CIPS is the industry leader in terms of global supply management and procurement. It has members in more than 150 countries and a network of more than 200,000 professionals worldwide, making it the most illustrious organisation devoted to the topic in the whole globe. Regulatory organisations accept the development of a worldwide supply chain management standard. CIPS may offer to advise businesses on how to enhance standards, achieve outcomes, and grow.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 7 Ep. 40.5: Meet the Mini-Mes
The Story of a Family Told in Web Comic Format
---------------------------------------------
Somehow I managed to skip over this post entirely. It was meant to come after the visit to Strangerville and before Steven and Gabby sat down to decide how to start their family.
There are a couple pieces of story development I didn't want to leave it out entirely to I'm adding it now, just a little bit out of order.
---------------------------------------------
By the time Steven and the rest got home from Strangerville, Spencer’s “say hello to my mini-mes” party was in full swing.
The main event of this get together, of course, was introducing the new twins to everyone. Hope and Spencer pulled the tiny mages-to-be from their antique bassinets to proudly show then off to Mandy and Peppino. Two more members for the Magic Club they all had enjoyed!
Theme or no theme, Spencer couldn’t spend the whole party in the nursery, so Jasper and Veronica had some time to show off their grand-babies and compliment Don on how right he had been about grand-parenting being more fun and less stress than parenting.
https://preview.redd.it/2r47yhpibopa1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=141fed9a3a9ea150685e97a2695a4677cabe1cc1
---------------------------------------------
Hope and Spencer soon returned to duty, and Jasper and Veronica reminisced with the partners their departed twins had left behind.
Talia assured her old friend that their farm had weathered the loss of Henry. Miguel, their oldest, loved farm life as much as Veronica’s boys had, and his two teen siblings helped with chores. It was hard, living without her beloved, but it wasn’t lonely.
For his part Dal’Kuran was a mermaid and had never had any doubt that he would outlive his bride by many days. That didn’t make him miss her any less, but he at least had the benefit of having been somewhat prepared.
https://preview.redd.it/817u1wyibopa1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=6eed6488e5b86b5bc139154f6a2c88a81c190e22
---------------------------------------------
After meeting his granddaughters, Etta reminded his stormy girl he was still worried about her “ferocious inheritance”.
She tearfully confessed that their worst fears had come true the night of the twin’s birth, and she knew she could no longer just try to avoid the wolf within. She needed to live in harmony with her beast, for the safety of everyone, but she wasn’t sure how to start.
Etta’s advice for her now was the same as before – go to The Mill. The old wolf had promised to help, and Spencer could work anywhere.
As much as she hated to leave the farm, and was sure Spencer would hate leaving his twin, Hope knew he was right. She promised her father she’d talk with her husband and take their family to Moonwood soon.
https://preview.redd.it/ahpdmk7jbopa1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=98764021f3431ba9b9c1e5ed5968e47d32ef6306
---------------------------------------------
With all their friends and family gathered, Kori and Ed revealed travel plans of their own. Her publisher wanted her to do a book tour for the incredibly popular novel that had won her a Starlight accolade. Kori had long planned to travel, and to do it for free was too good to miss.
Of course, Ed was accompanying her, and the twins had promised to keep churning out fizz to his recipes while he was away from their little brewery. The whole household would be heading to the flea market in the city that weekend, where Ed planned to tell his family the news and sell off some of his overstock.
https://preview.redd.it/oz5n45gjbopa1.png?width=864&format=png&auto=webp&s=28c16b02e41c93058e7f11ffc15996857b410e90
---------------------------------------------
The hours flew by, and the party began to die down. Gene and Taryn filled Spencer and Hope’s ears with more advice and tales from the parenthood trenches, and agreed to get together for a playdate as soon as Toni and Tori were old enough.
Gabby and Steven said goodnight to everyone and retired to bed, but not to sleep quite yet.
On this day of celebrating new family members, it was finally time to decide how they would add to their own little family.

2023.03.24 12:35 incorruptible_bk A user account registered yesterday posted several pro-Raniere comments last night/this morning. I believe this was one of Raniere's followers. They are banned and all their comments removed. More info here.

This posting is to document a combination of a user ban and removal of posts, under the posted subreddit rule "No glorification of NXIVM or any criminal activity."
Yesterday evening and overnight an account left a number of comments in support of Keith Raniere. Absent her explicit self-identification, I cannot name the individual I believe owns the account without running afoul of Reddit policy. However, the account owner left some clues (I believe deliberately) suggesting her identity as a known Raniere loyalist. If it is not her, then I believe it is someone trying to pose as her.
This activity coincides with Raniere continuing to file complaints against Bureau of Prisons and also with his attempt to be heard by the Supreme Court. I do not pretend to know what any of Raniere's followers are doing here, but I do know that even a SCOTUS ruling may not deter some followers.
But of greatest concern is that that the individual posted within a 12 hour interval that, if this person is in fact who and where I believe they are, suggests that NXIVM is continuing with making people do menial work for lengthy and odd hours.
Speaking directly to this person: please seek help\. It's not too late. You don't owe Raniere anything. For resources:
For everyone else:
I am leaving this thread open for 24 hours to take questions. Forgive me if my answers are vague and say at the outset that I'm not identifying the suspected individual, but I do have good reason for my suspicion.

2023.03.24 12:22 ViolinistOpen9531 Q Blockchain Detail Guide

Q Blockchain is a decentralized blockchain platform built on Ethereum technology, using a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism with an independent second layer of nodes to improve the robustness of the system. The Q network uses Q Tokens as its native asset, which are fully fungible and used to pay for all fees and transactions within the network. Validator Nodes, responsible for maintaining the Q Blockchain, are chosen based on the number of Q Tokens staked to them. Holders of Q Tokens can also delegate their tokens to Validator Nodes, which promotes competition between Validator Nodes and supports the decentralization of the Q network. The Q Constitution serves as the governing document for the Q system and lays down the rights and obligations of all stakeholders involved, including Validator Nodes, Q Token holders, and other users of the Q system. The Constitution is enforced through on-chain and off-chain elements, including the use of smart contracts to enforce the rules of the Constitution and community governance to ensure compliance. Q’s economic model is designed to balance power between different stakeholder groups, with a multi-stakeholder governance model that distributes decision-making power across different groups. Q Token Holders can propose and vote on changes to the protocol, while Integrated Application Providers have the power to decide how to distribute the fees generated by their applications. Validators are responsible for maintaining the network and can be removed by the community if they act against the interests of the network. This multi-stakeholder governance model helps prevent any one group from having too much power over the network, promoting a fair and decentralized system that benefits all participants. The five main themes that will be in focus in Q’s future development, according to the Q whitepaper, are: usage of Q, improving features and functionality, community development, protocols building on Q, and continuous improvement and innovation. These themes aim to promote the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies, improve the Q protocol, develop a strong community, attract other protocols to build on Q, and continue to innovate and improve the Q system. "Meme Stocks, The Infinite Game, and How the Market has Changed the Players"

by: [redacted]

Pre-pandemic --------- member with Asperger's here – I have designed stupid board games and video games for years, and while I have spent a ton of time watching what's going on and thinking about everything, I was suddenly reminded about the game design concept of "Finite and Infinite Games."
It's worth viewing the current situation under this lens and I wanted to shine some light on how this game design concept factors into meme stocks, and what everyone (including myself) has missed until today.
All of this is my opinion. It is not a recommendation or financial advice or a call to action even if it looks like it. My positions are long GME and --- in small amounts because I am poor, but I got in super early on both so I have no plans to sell.
Finite and Infinite Games
For those that have never heard of this, it comes from a book with the same name and the main idea is simple:
Finite games have a clear end and the purpose of a player is to win. Football is a finite game. Monopoly is a finite game. Getting your stock to a certain target price and selling is a finite game.
Infinite games do not have a clear end, and the purpose of a player is to stay in the game longer than the opponent. The game can even outlast the players. Running a business is an infinite game. Exploration is an infinite game. The Cold War was an infinite game.
When finite-minded players enter a finite game, or when infinite-minded players enter an infinite game, the game functions properly. But things get wild when a player sits down at the wrong game.
The Vietnam War
I'm stealing this section from the beginning of Simon Sinek's incredible talk because I am lazy and it fits the point I'm trying to make.
The US got into the Vietnam War to win a war. If the enemy ended up flying a white flag, victory is achieved. They were playing to win the game (finite-mindset) and they won a lot of battles.
But the Vietnamese were fighting for their lives and their way of life. Their goal was to get the other player to drop out or simply outlast the opposition until they left (which the US eventually did). And the Vietnamese were willing to fight to the last man to do it.
The United States won a ton of battles but the Vietnamese won the war.
What type of game is the stock market?
We can answer this a lot of ways but my simplest take is this: the stock market is a weird beast because it's an infinite game (outlast your opponents) but most people play with a finite mindset: A player tries to get their stock to hit a certain target price, and they cash out (win) and leave or play again (pick a new stock).
During the past few weeks, a tremendous amount of players entered the meme stock game and used orders and limits to win so they could leave. Their opponents did the same.
Even when the rules are lopsided, the game functions as both sides (bulls and bears) try to cheerlead and do whatever they can to fight for their side, short or long.
Enter Robbing hood
It's no secret that last Thursday, the rules of the game drastically changed for players in meme stocks, as millions of players were suddenly knocked out, impacting the score for every other player. Demand is directly linked to price.
This collapsed the demand line for all players during one of the biggest bull runs in history. Viewed in terms of the game, a referee (Robbing hood) essentially benched millions of players on one side of the game to the benefit of the opposing team. This is why there was a sudden and immediate outpouring of powerful people from all angles condemning the action, and Congress is calling a hearing. The referee broke the game (meme stocks fall because the demand is suppressed) and no timeout was called. This created an absolutely gigantic problem.
How finite-minded players adjusted
Players of the finite game that got robbed now came to a crossroads. They could
  1. Hold and keep playing, hoping their meme stock would hit their target price
  2. Cut their losses and sell to keep a smaller profit or prevent deeper losses
The players that were benefited by the shakedown also had a choice. And that choice looked different because of their advantage:
  1. Stay with the meme stock, hoping to get their stock to a target price or better
  2. Cash out, and maybe move to other stocks immediately because holy God this meme stock well is poisoned and the volatility is insane
At the end of the day, all these players are looking to cash out at a number, so even though they are on different sides, and meme stocks are crazy right now, the game is still playable.
If you haven't fallen asleep yet, here is the part where things go off the rails and no one is talking about it because no one has put the right words to it yet. A HUGE NUMBER of these finite-minded players have been turned into infinite-minded players.
Through all the noise of ----------- and Facebook and Twitter, I have noticed some major changes in the way people are talking about their meme stock holdings since Thursday:
All of these are hilarious. But there is something deeper going on psychologically with these people, and it is clear to me that they have changed from a finite-mindset to an infinite mindset. You can find even deeper examples like:
Let me break down what you're seeing here:
When these players got robbed, it instilled in them a righteous desire for justice.
I'm sure a bunch of them are familiar with The Big Short, or were connected to the 2008 housing market crisis, and they're all aware of how these things happen at the expense of the common man and no one gets punished.
In their minds, the only path forward now is to get revenge by putting the game back on its original path, through their sheer force of will. They will die playing this game, and they cannot be reasoned or argued with. Maybe they still have a target price in mind, but I need to be even more clear:
These infinite-minded players are working to get the other players to drop out and

they are not leaving

Remember that Vietnam War analogy I used earlier? Right now, finite-minded players who only care about the target price of a meme stock are simply looking to win. But the converted, infinite-minded players are playing the long game, and while they may have limited resources (the Vietnamese were completely outgunned and outnumbered), you will only be able to these people from their position when they win.
Now, you can make the case that this is simply a matter of the 5 stages of grief, and maybe that is true for some of them. But at the end of the day, if their action remains constant (holding and buying), then it doesn't matter.
What does all this mean?
I'd be lying if I said I knew, but I can wildly speculate for the rest of this post, which I will do and you will listen.
The market is always trying to achieve equilibrium, but what we are seeing is a motion to achieve rules equilibrium. These players were cheated, so they have created their own set of rules to play by: buy and hold. While these players may be small in number, they are going to quietly drain the supply without anyone noticing.
The floor for these meme stocks is going to continue to rise, and these players will continue to get people on board and things are going to snowball. At some point they will attract the attention of people with real money who believe in their pursuit of justice. And unlike the squeeze we started to see last week, the supply and demand curve is going to be so out of whack, you may see meme stock squeezes come out of nowhere with volatility that will blow our minds.
Even if these people lose they win
Imagine for a moment that GME collapses to $20 a share. Maybe the next quarter financials are abysmal. Do you think for a moment that these people aren't going to be dumping every single dollar they have into it? This will be like Christmas to them, because GME is not an investment in their minds, it's a ticket for their cause. It's the path to revenge.
And what if anything bad happens to DFV/Roaring Kitty after he's pulled into a congressional hearing? What if there is news of a crackdown on Reddit? These players know that it's not smart to storm the capital. So they're attacking the system at a specific place with their own money.
Some of these people saw what their position was at $480. It was staring them in the face and it was going up. Then they watched it plummet in real time.
Can you imagine the level of conviction these people have? Do you think the hedge funds or even the other players have this level of steadfastness? ----------- jokes about people with diamond hands. These people have diamond hearts.
I'll say it again: If someone with a lot of money is smart enough to notice all this, the nuclear bomb of a broken supply and demand curve is going to explode, making these infinite-minded players rich, and demolishing those with weaker backbones. We might lose a chunk of the market each time one of these meme stock nukes goes off.
Personally I'm not sure we're ever going back down to $20 for GME. But I'm also shocked that it's above $40 right now. The truth of the matter is this:
The infinite-minded players have divorced meme stock price from the financials and it will be that way until we reach a point where the game resets to where it was on Thursday
This may take days, weeks, months, or years to get there for some of the meme stocks, but it doesn't matter because these people have invented their own rules and there are more players in that position than you or I think. The media will eventually stop talking about these meme stocks, assuming people have walked away, but these players have found their cause and they will be committed to it until their wrong is righted. And they are literally willing to die trying.
Please, please, PLEASE be aware of this, especially with GME. The mindset of a large number of players has shifted almost overnight and they have chosen their battlefield. None of their opponents are fighting the game at their level. And throughout history, when infinite-minded players have played an infinite game against finite-minded players, the infinite-minded players have won. They have won every, single, time.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk. And if you connected with any of this, or it is helping to provide you with some answers, please share it. I can't post to --------- or Investing, so my reach is limited, but in the small corners I've put it, people are really connecting with what I'm sharing.
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

TLDR:

Finite games have a clear end and the purpose of a player is to win. Infinite games do not have a clear end, and the purpose of a player is to stay in the game longer than the opponent. The stock market is a weird beast because it's an infinite game (outlast your opponents) but most people play with a finite mindset.
Robbing Hood shut off the buy button. This created an absolutely gigantic problem. A HUGE NUMBER of these finite-minded players have been turned into infinite-minded players. Even if these people lose they win. $20 a share, this will be like Christmas to them. They are going to quietly drain the supply without anyone noticing. Until we reach a point where the game resets to where it was on January 2021. These people have diamond hearts. None of their opponents are fighting the game at their level.
And throughout history, when infinite-minded players have played an infinite game against finite-minded players, the infinite-minded players have won. They have won every, single, time.

2023.03.24 12:15 fuzy017 Q Blockchain

Q Blockchain

At its core, the Q Blockchain consists of two main components: the Q Protocol and the Q Chain. The Q Protocol is a set of standards that define how dApps interact with the Q Chain, while the Q Chain is a distributed ledger that stores and manages the state of the network.
One of the main benefits of the Q Blockchain is its scalability. The platform is designed to handle a high volume of transactions without compromising performance or security. This is achieved through the use of sharding, a technique that partitions the network into smaller sub-networks, or "shards", each of which can process transactions independently.
Another key feature of the Q Blockchain is its security. The platform uses a combination of cryptographic techniques to ensure that transactions are secure and tamper-proof. This includes the use of consensus algorithms to validate transactions and prevent double-spending, as well as cryptographic signatures to authenticate transactions and prevent unauthorized access.
In addition to its technical capabilities, the Q Blockchain also offers a number of tools and resources to help developers build and deploy dApps on the platform. These include developer documentation, code samples, and software development kits for popular programming languages like JavaScript and Python.
Overall, I'm excited to see how QBlockchain develops and how its innovative governance model can be applied to other industries and sectors.

2023.03.24 11:57 theinve Rosie Duffield has liked a tweet denying that trans people were persecuted in the Holocaust

screenshotted here by Ask Sarkar
Suzy or Eddie Izzard (she goes by either name) made a comment that in Nazi Germany she would have been murdered for being transgender. Graham Linehan, an online anti-trans extremist who used to be a comedy writer and married, sarcastically retorted that the Nazis were "famously bigoted against straight white men with blonde hair" (misgendering Izzard in the process, as is de rigueur within this particular online cesspit). Duffield, a Labour MP with a long and persistent history of anti-trans activism, liked the tweet. Per the Labour Party's social media policy, liking of favouriting hateful content is against party rules.
While the treatment of trans people under the Nazi regime was incredibly complex, it is absolutely false to blithely imply that someone such as Izzard would not have faced persecution. As the Museum of Jewish Heritage states, "Hitler’s Nazi government.... brutally targeted the trans community, deporting many trans people to concentration camps and wiping out vibrant community structures". Late last year, a regional court in Cologne, Germany found that denial of Nazi persecution of trans people qualified as "denial of Nazi crimes".

2023.03.24 11:52 ak_NYC How to find out SSDI Classification?

I am looking to do a penalty free IRA withdrawal but in order to do so I have to be “what the IRS calls total and permanent disability.”
I read that SSDI recipients are classified as follows:
“Social Security further classifies disabilities based on your prospects for recovery, with the following designations: medical improvement expected, medical improvement possible and medical improvement not expected. These categories determine how frequently the SSA will review your condition to see if you still qualify for benefits.”

Is there any easy to find out my classification?

2023.03.24 11:50 paulcarron My new Vaoprfly's have got me thinking about carbon plated shoes in general

I recently bought a pair of Vaporfly 2. I'm a 11.5 stone mid-forefoot striker and have a fairly neutral footstrike with no major pronation issues. My only concern before buying was that I may be a little heavy for them. What I actually found was that they feel a bit unstable for me. Maybe that's because I'm used to shoes with more stability but it did get me thinking. A lot of my club members wear these shoes. Most are heel strikers, some are heavier than me and I've noticed very visible overpronation with some. Almost all wear them for the majority of their training. It made me wonder a few things about this style of high performance, carbon plated shoe:
  1. Do they provide any benefit to the type of runner I described above?
  2. I find them awkward when walking/jogging slowly but they're great when I open up. Is there a pace where, if the wearer is slower than that pace, they won't benefit from the design of the shoe?
  3. Will there likely be an increase in injuries as a result of non elite runners using this type of shoe prolifically?
I'd be keen to hear anyones thoughts on the above questions and any other thoughts they might have on this type of show.

2023.03.24 11:41 StarUniverseFalls What if the Inner Mongolian People's Republic united with the Mongolian People's Republic back in 1945?

During the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Japanese established a puppet state in Inner Mongolia called Mengjiang. Mengjiang was disbanded by the invasion of Soviet and Mongolian troops in August 1945. On 9 September 1945, a congress of "People's Representatives" was held in what is now the Sonid Right Banner. The congress was attended by representatives, 80 of them, from the Chahar, Xilingol, and Siziwang areas. The congress proclaimed the Inner Mongolian People's Republic, and a provisional government of 27 members were elected, of whom 11 were in the Standing Committee.
The Chinese Communist Party took notice of the government, fearing separatism. The CCP sent Ulanhu to take control of the situation, and he ordered the Inner Mongolian government to be dissolved. The region was organized later as the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region.
But what if the Inner Mongolian People's Republic instead united with the Mongolian People's Republic?
